[OOC] Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (To Save What Remains)

Things to Note:
This rp takes place in an alternate universe where the events of Persona 1 - 4 have not happened. Not to say the characters in those games won�t make an appearance.
The Dark Hour is a thing. Kouetsu Kirijo did go ahead with those crazy experiments.
The TV world exists and the Midnight Channel does air in Inaba on rainy nights.

Japan - 2014
Things are dire on the planet Earth; out of nowhere, strange beings began to appear in a few select cities in Japan. They came up from the ground, inky black and fluid as shadows. They killed and fed indiscriminately. Soon, they began to spread. First all over Japan, then all over the world. The governments of the world did not take the threat seriously until the �Shadows� were already at their doorstep. Too late, they organized a special strike force dedicated to wiping out the Shadow menace. But they quickly found that conventional weapons had no effect on these creatures. Then, in Earth�s darkest hour, a hero emerged. Somehow, this man found a way to turn the powers of these Shadows against them, using a power he called �Persona.� Over time, more of these �Persona-users� began to emerge, re-taking cities mankind once thought lost. All over the world, Persona-users were hailed as heroes. In some places, they enjoyed a fame and fortune comparable to celebrities. They were considered mankind�s last best hope. Now, twenty years later and at the climax of the struggle is where our story begins. Will you save mankind? Or be responsible for its destruction?

Equipment: You can have an Evoker, but you don�t need one. The reason you can summon your Persona in the real world without an Evoker will be revealed later.

Factions
The Paladins
The Paladins believe that they should use their Personas solely in service to mankind. They are most famous for their Templars, high-ranking Paladins decked out in shining silver armor carrying giant shields and silver swords. They are the most popular group, having actual political power in most countries. The Prime Minister of France is a known Templar. Since they enjoy tremendous political power in France, that is where their main HQ is found.

The Society
The Society believes Personas exist to fulfill the needs of their masters. They use their Personas for self-service without harming others. (Unless they think they can get away with it) The Society consists of mostly rich people. Many heads of the most powerful corporations belong to the Society. They have very little interest in fighting Shadows, instead using their Personas for sport, intimidation, or travel. Their main HQ is located in Washington DC in the US, where they have a powerful voice in the US government.

The Invokers
While there are many gangs who use their Personas for nefarious purposes, the Invokers are arguably the most dangerous and well-connected gang in the world. They believe they are superior to normal human beings and so that gives them the right to kill and rob people as they please. They are rampant in slums and places where the law turns a blind eye.

NPC Factions

The Church of Saint Leon
These people follow the teachings of Leon, who died during the siege of Tokyo. Leon taught that God sent the Shadows because He is angry with mankind. They view Persona-users as a blemish in the sight of their God and actively hunt them down. Somehow, they have found a way to control Shadows.

The Dusters
Dwellers of the Badlands, a large, dead area in Europe that was overrun with Shadows. As a result, the land has been turned into a barren desert. For reasons unknown, the Dusters drove the Shadows out and set up small underground communities. They are very distrustful of outsiders.

Casamere was presented to Yoromatsu on the day he was inducted into The Paladins. Why Yoromatsu named his blade Casamere, no one is really sure.

Personality: Youhei is a man who has long since lost faith in others. He was once a very social young man, eager to make friends wherever he went and trusting of others; however, long years of discrimination and the selfishness of others have worn him down and he no longer holds his fellow man in such high esteem. In his own words, Youhei has seen some shit in his travels and the worst of it is always perpetrated by humanity.
And yet still he fights, though he has long since lost his purpose.

History: The only significant part of Youhei's life began when he awakened to his Persona and made the fateful mistake of fighting for the good of others. In the end, through betrayal, irrational hatred and corruption on the part of humanity, he lost all hope for their salvation. Youhei left to fight and perhaps die alone, his faith and spirit broken. His last wish; to take as many Shadows with him as he could.

Tried going for a what-if of Youhei, since the events of P3:DSOTM never happened; a cynical, sarcastic Knight in Sour Armour. A bit dark and angsty, but I expect that'll change.

She also has a gun holster for her 9mm pistol, and a combat knife with it's own sheath that hangs off of her belt as well. To tie it up, she has a large, military-grade rucksack that carries everything she needs to survive on the run. As far as jewelry....i'll update that later
History: She used to be a paladin but got sick of the hype and sick of living in France. Will update as RP progresses.

History: Momo isn't one to get into fights on her own will, but if she must, she will. Born in France, her parents fled away, not wanting her to become a "Ruffian" like the paladins. Brought up in the society faction, she was taught class and etiquette, but she does long for some excitement in her life unfortunately her parents wont allow her to participate in sports or travel, she can only gaze from afar or be taken by an employee hired by the family, So instead she trains in secret with a few small knives she stole from the kitchen. She longs to do something fun for a change.

History:
From an early age Seto had a passion of working with machinery. He was perhaps born in one of the most ideal places for such passion since Birmingham was famous for its abundance of resources through international trades. Following his passion, however, proved to be difficult until later due to the fact that his parents had different ideals about his education. They were determined to give their only son the best of the best education, and so his days were filled with private tutoring of Japanese, his family's mother language, English, Mathematics, Science and more. It was apparent that if he did not stand up for what he really wanted to do, he would never get a chance to; with this in mind he tried his best to pass on to his parents what he really wanted to do. Starting from around the time he started his high school studies his parents finally gave in, leaving him to manage his own studies and time in exchange for joining a certain faction they were under. He knew that the fact that he had obtained a Persona around that time played a role, but that didn't matter to him at the time. All he was focused was the chance given for him to actually pursue his passion.

A notable incident occurred during Seto's Coming of Age ceremony.
He had made an agreement with his parents which meant he was at his best and polite attitude. He seemed like a capable member, one worth keeping an eye on as he was introduced to the Society, to which his parents beamed with approval. When it was time, the spotlight was on the young Seto; he rose with an air of confidence, formally introducing himself to the community. And at last was the time for him to materialize his Persona for the Society's entertainment and to appeal his position in the Game of Power. Badb Catha emerged as a murder of crows, true to her nature of the 'Battle Crows'. The ballroom instantly became a den of feathers as black as dried blood filled with mad screeches and wing beats as the crows circled the room, crashing every object not bolted to the ground to their feet. Chandeliers fell from their hanging place, and if that wasn't enough some even managed to attack the ceiling and walls. It just so happens that the building wasn't exactly Persona-proof, and by the time the crows fused to its actual form, a single giant crow, it was as if a tornado struck the place. Seto formally apologized for the mess, briefly hinting that it was an inevitable feat to summon his Persona, and complimented on the swift way other Persona users reacted. The incident did raise much debate but there were no deaths and the influence Seto's parents had allowed him to stay as a member. This incident, as well as how he went to immerse himself in dismantling an alarm clock right after the main event was over, gave relief to those who were worried that Seto might be a formidable rival within the Society, for who in their right mind would want such uncontrollable and unsociable Persona user in the ranks?

Personality:
Seto has a subtle aloofness when it comes to social interactions. Normally it's not something big enough to warrant action, but it does make him stand out from time to time. An example of this would be his odd sense of fashion or speaking out of turn. This stems from his malleable nature; that is, Seto would first head off in his own way, but when confronted or told to do otherwise he would seemingly obey. Gradually, however, he will make attempts to compromise so that he can have his way while also somewhat upholding whoever or whatever's wishes.
