[IC] The Magical Academy

The students were all situated in the Academy courtyard, waiting for something to happen.
Suddenly there was a flash and a tall sinewy man with glowing green eyes appeared, the students all turned their attention to him. he looked around the courtyard quickly then walked back to the front door and threw it open, a tall tree-like woman walked out, accompanied by a surprisingly normal looking man, large but not particularly magical-looking.
The woman came to the end of the stairs and, in a surprisingly loud voice, called out "Welcome!" when she had everyone's attention she said "I am headmaster Willow, and as you all know, you are here because you are special, here you can feel safe, and learn to control your powers and your unique abilities in your own time, at your own pace, i wish you all happy days, please have a wonderful year!"
at the end of that short speech, Headmaster Willow turned and walked back into the school, with the same man following her. Students slowly starting shifting out of their comfortable positions and headed off.

Innocentia cocked her head as the headmaster turned to leave "that was a bit of a waste of time" she said, then she reaches for her papers, "so i'm in the girl's dorm ... rm number ... ah 2-B, got it, i wonder if we have room partners here" stands up and looks around for anyone who could maybe tell her where exactly the girl's dorms were, seeing as how she had only learned to read recently and looking at the map was a chore.

she didn't see anyone right off the bat so she grabbed her bag (water-proofed), through her papers in, zipped it shut and went into her water forms, so she could easily slip through the crowd without actually touching anyone.
she thought she could see the dorm, but she wasn't sure so she kept moving.

Shade pulled his papers from out of his stomach and scanned across them, it said that he was in room 7 - D which sounded very much to him like it was going to be somewhere very very high up.

"At least that might provide some fun" He muttered under his breath as he stuffed the paper back into the inky blackness that was his body and sauntered off, stretching his legs to cover the ground faster.

It was his third year at the academy and this time he was finally able to take the advanced classes. During his first year he had failed his end of year exams by entirely failing to turn up, meaning he had to re do his entire first year to qualify for the advanced classes that actually might provide him something interesting to do. Although he'd never admit it he actually enjoyed a lot of the classes and managed to remember everything he heard from them no matter how little attention he had seemed to be paying. The second year had been a nightmare for him, and he had spent most of the actual class time floating around the building and scaring student by phasing through walls, but that has rapidly lost his appeal and he found himself counting the days to the end of the year exams.

'This year had better be a whole lot better' he thought crashing through another door 'wait....where the hell am I going?'

Innocentia stopped 'i don't know where i'm going' she looked around and decided to head toward a large building that was close by but as she began to head that way. her eyes were locked on the building trying to figure out what a sign on it said, she ran straight into another person, being in water form she went everywhere, soaking both the boy she hit and a vast majority of the students surrounding them.
it took a minute for the water to re accumulate in a way she could go physical, "Ow,Ow, Ow!" she was now laying on the ground and looked up at the boy "i'm so sorry, i wasn't paying attention, are you al..." her voice began to teeter out as she realized the boy appeared to be made of shadow. she cleared her throat "are you alright?"

Lillith was listening to what the headmistress said about greeting everyone in the Academy and wish them a happy year. With a smile on her face, the red-haired beauty headed to the main halls with a backpack hunging from her shoulder and a confused look on her friendly face. Her fangs were showing through her mid-open lips and she was wondering where this room was. She had been asigned room 2-B, and she hoped her roommate...or roomies were actually friendly to her, since she rarely got along well with people. Once she saw the room with a sign of 2-B above it, she smiled happily and entered inside.

She placed her bags and her backpack on one of the free beds and laid down. Luckily, there were only two beds so she wouldn't have to be afraid of the usual roommate issue and awkwardness. After a few minutes of resting, she put her things away and started to put them in the drawers and the placard which was big enough for two.

Shade absent mindedly wandered outside again and was trying to figure out where he was supposed to be going when he accidentally crashed headfirst into what looked like a girl made entirely out of water. They both hit the ground and the girl splashed everywhere, soaking anything and everything nearby, and shade found his limbs flailing across the hallway.

Shade quietly pulled his hand out of a nearby rose bush that it had landed in and sprang it back to himself like a piece of giant shiny rubber just as the girl who he had crashed into managed to reform herself.

He reformed himself into a standing position and offered the girl a hand up,
"I'm fine" he said "You're just lucky I managed to keep my form consistent...ish, or we'd have been separating for hours"

Innocentia took his hand, keeping in physical form for now "that's good, thanks" when he mentioned staying consistent, she laughed "same here, if i hadn't realized what had happened i would have had to send my consciousness way back to my river, and boy would my family make fun of me" she smiled "i'm Innocentia, what's your name?"

"I'm Jack" He said, bowing comically "People call me Shade though on account of being the only Shadowboy who actually leaves the Night Den"

He swept his head back up and glanced around "Anyway I've got to try and remember the way to block 7, suppose I'd better get going" with that Shade turned into smoke and floated up to a nearby window before becoming corporeal again. He hung out of the window and changed his appearance to that of a cowboy, giving a cliched tip of his hat before laughing maniacally and tipping himself through the window.

Innocentia giggles slightly at his act but then looks around at the angry students "oh right, i'm sorry" she puts her hands out and the water pulls itself off them and accumulates beneath, where it is soaked up, but there's not change to her "Ok ... i'm gonna go now" turns and hurries off, as she approaches the building she had been heading for the sign says "girl's dorm, blocks 1-6"
she looked through the window in the door "i guess this is the right place" so she pushed the door open and followed the signs leading her upstairs to block 2. and she very quickly found room b. "right" she pushed the door opened and discovered someone already there "Oh! i'm sorry i must be in the wrong room..."

Lillith saw this blonde girl open the door and apologize. "Oh, it's ok! This is 2-B. I guess you are my roommate...H-Hi I suppose. M-My name is Lillith...Lillith Aensland," she said with a gentle smile and stood up. She extended her pale-skinned hand forward to greet this new girl. "And I'll be your roommate...and hopefully we'll get along!" she said nervously. She really hoped they got along well, and she would enjoy to have a nice friend after all.

Innocentia didn't entirely understand the concept of a roommate but she figured that meant she was in the right place, so she took a step forward and gently took the girl's hand, not entirely knowing what to do with it. "i'm Innocentia august, it's very nice to meet you" she looked around the room, still holding the girl's hand "this place is very interesting, i lived in a river before coming here so everything a bit overwhelming" she looked back at the girl "but I've already met 2 nice people, so it can't be bad"

Lillith thought the girl's name was quite beautiful, but decided not to comment about it. Instead, she was a bit surprised when she told her she lived in a river. "R-Really? In a river? Well...I'm not going to ask how is that possible since I've seen lots of races today...what race are you? I'm a vampire," she said with a kind smile and released the girl's hand. She was already being really nice, so she knew they'd get along.

Shade floated through a few walls passing empty classrooms and scaring a teacher who was sitting at a desk making notes. He giggled like a child at the look on the terrified mans face and managed to float his way though the building to the boys dorm on the other side. The sign outside the door said 'Boys Dorm Blocks 7-12'

"finally" he said, becoming physical again and landing with a soft thump on the ground outside the door. "I'm pretty sure they keep moving all of the buildings"

He walked through the door and was nearly knocked on his ass by a huge looking mass of rock and hate "watch where you're going" it said not taking it's eyes away from the papers he was reading. Shade grinned and phased through the wall, popping out just in front of the Golem that had just bashed him. He contorted his face into a grotesque mess of horrifying features and broke into an insane sounding cackle which countined long after the screaming giant had sprinted down the hall.

"This year is going to better"

Innocentia was fascinated, she didn't actually know what a vampire was "i'm a naiad, a river spirit basically, i'm unique or something though, i found living in the river boring," she dropped her bag down on the bed that was opposite lillith and sat down "you don't mind if i ask, what exactly is a vampire? as i said i'm new to this world" she started pulling her few objects out of her bag, the papers of course, a necklace that was given to her by a visiting ocean spirit, it was a special small shell on the end, and a small little box that had a few rocks from her river in it. she looked back up at lillith when she had set everything out, waiting patiently for an answer.

Lillith was amazed to meet someone that was actually made of water and was a river spirit. She had learnt of them, but had never seen one in her life. "Wow...I've read of you...it's amazing that you are actually real!" she said. After she asked her what a vampire was, she laid back on her bed and explained. "A vampire is someone who feeds on blood. I am a vampire myself. That's why my skin is so pale, I have red eyes and I can do this." As soon as she finished explaining, she sat on the bed to show a pair of vampire wings come out of her back and her head. She folded them back into her and looked at her. "But don't worry...I won't feed on you and I can't do it either. You are made of water. That's why I've brought my daily dose for it in my bag," she said.

Innocentia stared, wide-eyed, as she explained, "that's fascinating" she smiled "there's actually alot of us, river spirits, we just hide because people take advantage of us, the matron Naiad of my river has enough power to flood the whole country, i'm still young though so i can't do much, and since i'm basically going to be living in the human world now my powers won't get much stronger anyway" she looked around, mind brimming with questions, but said "i guess i should figure out where my classes are, i'll be back later" she stood up, throwing everything back in her bag and headed back out again.

Shade finally managed to get to his room on the top floor, despite a few amusing interruptions on the way.

Being a third year student had it's perks and Shade had managed to swing himself one of the singular rooms on the seventh floor of the boys dorms. If he was honest with himself it was mostly because his last two roommates had refused to stay with him for longer than a single term anyway as they couldn't deal with having a roommate who literally never slept.

Shade pulled a huge duffel bag out of his stomach and swung it onto his bed, the contents spilled everywhere. Contained within where all of the books he had managed to collect in his lifetime, a great many of which would be useful for some of the advanced classes he was taking. He pulled his paper out again and found the sheet with his time table on it. He also managed to dig a thumb tack out of himself and pinned it to the corkboard above the head of his bed.

He surveyed the room with great pride, although there was little decoration to it. The floor was a standard green carpet the walls were a faded off-white color and the small en-suite bathroom was a ghastly shade of puke green, but he was confident with a few alterations he could make the place his own.

and with that he promptly started turning his nigh useless bed into a fort.

Innocentia wandered around for a little while, she couldn't find any of the places she was looking for, after about 30 minutes she gave up and was going to turn around when she realized she had no idea where she was. "Great" she looked around and couldn't see any familiar buildings, granted she just had the one. after looking around for a few minutes she decided to go into one of the buildings to ask directions and the on she approached had a sign 'Boys Dorm Blocks 7-12' she knocked on the door, not being sure whether she was allowed in or not "Hello! i need help!"

Shade was distracted from attaching another duvet based roof to his fort by the sound of a familiar voice coming from outside his open window.

He stuck his head out of the window and let droop suddenly to the ground floor, landing with a dull thud.
"ow" Shade cried as his forehead collided with the soil "i may have miss judged that a little"

He pulled his head up a little util he came eye to eye with Innocentia, after he figured out that he was upside down he righted himself and shook his head to clear the haze.

"Oh it's you again" He said, "Can i help?"

Innocentia smiled "oh hi, well i'm kind of lost, i don't know how to read the map so i have no idea where to go" she laughed "i'm new to this world, so i can hardly read, the maps a bit to much for me" she pulled it out and looked it over "i have no idea what all these squiggles in this little box mean" (referring to the key) she laughed "i'm hopeless, could you help me?"
