Hello, everyone =3 I'm glad that you have taken interest in this little idea of mine and clicked to find out more. There is a lot of explaining to be done, which I can not summarize in just one go, due to the fact that I do not wish to make this post long and frightening ^ ^" That is why I advise you to visit the site I have made for this role-play, where I have written down and structured everything (hopefully) that you will need to know.

Introduction

Today life seems just the same, a hurdle of contradictions.

Everything changes, nothing stays the same, yet you still call it by the same name. You can't walk twice into the same river, because the water you were in is no longer there, but, geographically speaking, the river is still there, despite its main component being different.

Things are promised, it's partly or not at all done. Human emotions clash and battle within one weak container and, despite their intensity and power, the body does not receive much harm, unless it causes pain to itself through outside help.

The television talks about Global warming, but it's getting colder.

People try to help and are called insane. Those who sin are saints. No wonder the two words start with the same letter.

It's all the same every day.

Someone dies. Someone is born.

One person gains. Another loses.

Those who can't handle the swing carousel of life simply fall off.

The winners of the day are the ones who can be as sssweet as a snake.

Yet we talk about rights, about telling the truth, about honesty.

They say that every rule has an exception, but doesn't that mean that that rule has an exception as well?

Humanity prides itself with the growth of communication, with the breaking of distance and language barriers, with how easily one can reach another. However, we begin to lack in basic speech when talking to someone face to face.

And even now, as today brings the same ordeals in our ordinary lives, it's said that everything changes and everything differs from second to second.

The further we swim in the stream of life, we both develop and fall into degradation and depravity.

The more powerful and advanced we become, the more unnecessary we get in life, for we disturb the natural order.

All of that happens each and every day, but most of us, if not all of us, don't notice it at all.

If it's so easy to hide, to mislead and deceive, who knows what lurks in the shadows, where nobody dares to look.

Yet, none of that matters now, does it?
Today will be repeated tomorrow.
Everything is changing and stays the same.

A world of contradictions.

If there really are a lot of contradictions, is there one, which contradicts the world?

After reading that introduction, some of you probably didn't understand a thing at all XD Don't worry. It's supposed to be confusing. Now, onto the short straight explanation, concerning this role-play.

This is going to be a role-play, which falls into the following categories:
1. Murder
2. Fantasy
3. Psychological
4. Drama
5. Cyber
6. Randomness X3

Here are the news for our lovely city.
06:00 A number of newcomers have arrived. Please, threat them nicely~
10:30 The weather will be perfect. Indigo Square will have a sky of wonderful velvet. The vegetation in Last Part will continue growing uncontrollably. Aquatwist will be busy as always, but due to the overall sunniness, the chance of shadow-consumers is low. Akasan will have a medium fog snake factor. In the rest of the areas, everything shall be splendid as well.
13:25 Orangada offers 25% off on the drinks. Remember to get one, since the atmosphere will get warmer.
15:35 Construction on the new skyscraper will continue. Please, be wary of falling objects.
16:30 A murder will take place in Underpass. The murderer will be William Low.

Remember, keep your keys in your pockets and treat them with respect.

Basically speaking, in this story your characters will enter Cell City, a city located in another dimension, which is situated one day before their present. Within that town there are eight areas, full of peculiar sights, sounds and creatures, which will offer you an adventure of a lifetime. You will get to participate in many missions and quests, meet beings of all kind and see many wonders. Think of it as an MMORPG.
The reason why they, the humans, have been granted access to this bizarre land is for them to take part in a murder game. Every day they receive a message on their device, stating various news regarding Cell City, one of them being an announcement for the murderer of the day. The said person has to become a murderer during or around that time, seeing as something of this caliber can never be predicted accurately.

This being said, you should be aware of the fact that characters will be dieing during this role-play. Not descriptively, of course, yet they will and others will be their murderers. Not to mention that humans, who are users in the game, will also have the chance to fight each other. Thus, if you decide to join this story, don't complain when any of the mentioned occurs.

You will be able to pick between two types of characters: Players and Keys.
Players are normal humans, who got the message and a certain app, which automatically gets installed after closing the message.
Keys are beings from the other world, Cell City, which will play the role of companions and main battle pawns of the players.

This role-play will not be all about murder and killing. You will have plenty of opportunity to do other things as well =3 As I mentioned, think of it as an online game. It'll be easier to accept death that way.

I actually had a question! When creating a Key character should we send that sheet directly to you and not posted in the actual thread? The reasoning behind this is because I thought it would be cool if you only showed what the actual physical Keys looked like publicly so when the humans players picked them they wouldn't know exactly what they are getting until after they pick. So once a player chooses from the images of keys then the corresponding player will post the CS and show what they will be partnered with. Hopefully that wasn't to jarbled up to not comprehend. xD

That...is actually a good idea! I did mention that only the images of the Keys as simple objects will be visible to the humans upon opening the app for the first time. How foolish of me to not have thought of doing so for the sheets and site. Thank you for bringing this up, El, if I may call you that ^ ^

There is just one little problem with this idea. Due to the fact that I am the owner of this role-play, I will have to look through everyone's sheets and judge them. By doing so I will see what every Key is like. This will probably be considered unfair, since I also plan on making a human character (sacrificial lamb lol). Well, once we are sure and prepared to start, I'll just pick last, so everyone can have a fair go =3

Hehe, I loved that game. I won't deny that it inspired me a little bit. I haven't played the second one, though I'm planning to do that sometime soon. Which route did you like/get?

Also, don't worry too much about the posting rate. I'll understand when people have their hands full on their side of the globe and will give them recaps and opportunities to jump in, if ever necessary. Believe me, if we get this going, I'll make sure to make it a comfortable ride...Even though...we'll be killing people XD

Now, to get one thing covered, depending on what kind of characters you plan to make, we might have to wait a bit more for one or two more people. A friend of mine told me that they will join and I'm currently conversing/persuading another XD I'm really excited about seeing everyone's characters. Hope we can make a great team!

I'll have to read over the website and CS a little deeper a little later (AKA after I sleep) and I'll probably have an idea of what I wanna do, so I'll keep you posted. As for what I'm into, it's hard to pin down, don't you think? People are complicated :p

I'm a big otaku, so take away what you will from that. It's a pretty safe bet to assume I like whatever anime/manga you're thinking of, with the exception of the Big Three, because I work for a living and don't have enough time in the day to marathon 300 episodes like I used to.

Musically, I'm all over the board, but you can pretty safely assume the opposite of what I said above. I probably have no idea about the bands you like, and you probably don't know mine :p

Other than that... well, like I said, I work a lot, so I sleep a lot. I don't have the time of day for other regular hobbies, so I'm super bland and boring.

Edit: Also, I never beat Devil Survivor, so I can't really comment. I should get back to it though...

Take your time with reading. I'm aware that there's material to be soaked up and understood, so don't worry if it takes you awhile.

Also, I agree. People are complicated creatures, which make the world complicated, just so they themselves wouldn't feel complicated. XD

Have you heard of the manga "MAGI: The Labyrinth of Magic"? It's very interesting and is what I mainly follow. My manga list is rather long, while my anime list...not so much. It's rare to see a good anime nowadays *sigh*. I did like "Noragami", though. It finished recently and was nicely done, plot, art and music-wise.

When it comes to music, I personally like Vocaloid and covers from nico nico singers.
If it were a specific band, I don't have a favorite. In my case, I like certain songs, but not entire groups. So far, the only bands, the songs of which I have liked are around 90% of their entire work, are "Nickleback" and "Hands Like Houses", yet I still do not listen to them that often.

Alrighty! If you've all gotten a good idea of what's going on and have no questions regarding the plot and setting, I'm all open for character sheets through PM. El already sent me theirs and we're discussing on what should and shouldn't be there. I would like to remind you all to write a fair amount in both the "Personality" and "History" section. For Keys, I don't personally mind a short History, but compensate with Personality.

Also, I will have to clear something up.
Since El suggested to make the Keys page into the shop the way it would look like in the app, in order for there to be some fun with picking randomly, I'm going to request that you all put in descriptions of your key (object) and keychain in addition to the images, if you have any to begin with. The said writing will be put on the "Key Shop" page, where owners of human characters will be picking their Key partners.
Remember, if you own a human character, you can not pick a Key that is played by you. =3

I think I can answer some of your questions and if I am mistaken on anything please feel free to correct me Phones.

No, you will not be playing both partners. One person will play the Key and another person will play the Human

Now, if you want to create both a Key and a Human character. That is all fine and well. But they can't be partnered up. Your Key and Human will be separated and grouped with different players. This allows You, as the roleplayer, a means of interacting with other roleplayers so you are not stuck simply going back and forth between yourself. Keys are separate characters, which originate from the world that is Cell City. They can have any shape and form in that dimension, yet take the form of keys in our world.

Keys are partners of the human players. They are the ones who serve the guide function if they have ever been in the game before, but if they are new, there are a bit clueless, despite knowing the basics, since the system automatically gives them the information upon their creation. Their main role is, very narrowly speaking, the partner/companion/support/attack one. It's very dangerous to walk around the streets when you're alone in Cell City, so they're supposed to be the ones who watch your back (in theory, of course).

If you are playing a human character, the said character's Key can NOT be played by you. It MUST be played by someone else.

How your human character picks the Key is explained on the site.
How it is decided which Key will be picked by which human, prior to the role-play's start or during the story, is rather simple. You go to "Key Store" and pick whichever you like. I liked El's idea to not reveal the character sheets of the Keys to anyone except me and their owners, in order for the choise to truly be realistic.

However, I must note that the "Key Store" is currently closed. Once I'm sure we have enough humans and Keys, I'll announce that the users, who are playing human characters, can post in the OOC (which will be made once I am sure there are enough people on this boat) which Key they want for their character. First comes, first serves. I'll give a warning some time, maybe a day, before the announcement for the opening of the store, in order for you to be ready.
