The story
Long before the apocalypse came there was a tiny country. It existed out of no more than one city and the ground around it. The ground was very fertile and filled with natural resources. Due to these geographical advantages, the tiny country was very wealthy. It didn't have the power to stand up to the countries around it, but it had enough power and political intelligence to exist. The capital, the only city, shared the name of it's country. It was called "Trinea", after the goddess who supposedly gave them their land and prosperity. That was before the Apocalypse, when people still believed gods existed...
It started in a country far away from Trinea. Alarming messages of people rising from the dead... It all seemed like one of the many zombie movies so popular in the tiny country. Soon people all around the world started calling them Zombies. The Apocalypse was originally called the Purge. It was a punishment from god on the country where it all started. Not the goddess Trinea, another, more malicious god known as Zed. People believed Zed was evil because men was evil. Zed, in an attempt to purge this evil from himself, set to purge evil from humanity. The 'doom-priests' of the northern countries had foreseen the apocalypse, or so they say. Very little people called it the Purge after the Mutation.
The country who favoured war was quickly destroyed by the Zombies. Overnight, a quarter of the population had been contaminated somehow. 90% of the dead people in cemeteries rose that night from their sleep, a sleep that should have been eternal. After a few days, the contaminated people would die and rise themselves. To 'rise' became the word people used to avoid 'zombification'. The world was not ready for the horror that word held and would not until most of humanity was dead, undead.
The surrounding countries left the war favouring country to fend for itself. This was a mistake. It would not have stopped the spread, but it would have delayed it and it would have made the Apocalypse carry less momentum. When the war favouring country fell, it's neighbours started to move. They intended to take the land for themselves. This too, was a mistake...
While all that was happening, the tiny country prepared itself. Their neighbours simply laughed. 'It's nothing, the warring northmen will deal with it', they said. Oh how wrong they were... War was the solution, but not a conventional war. And the war required was not a war the tiny country could fight alone. Unable to find allies, the people of Trinea simply prepared to defend their land at all cost.
Then the Mutation happened. The countries of the north had been winning their war against Zed, against the Zombies, against Death, but something changed in the zombies... Most were still just reanimated dead, who didn't seem to die unless you destroyed their brain (a zombie never eats the entire brain, if a part of it is intact, the entire brain will be restored before the zombification is complete). There were other kind of zombies around though... Stronger zombies, zombies that could heal, zombies that could think and speak. These, while being much stronger and often harder to send into 'eternal death', were the only zombies that could be killed by destroying either of two organs. Scientists found out that somewhere in their bodies there was a central command organ, much like the brain. Often the organ was formed out of the remains of either the heart of the brain. Those with a 'brain'-mutation were the intelligent zombies, while those with a 'heart'-mutation were zombies who possessed greater strength and sometimes even the ability to regenerate cells. The mutated could die in two ways: the first was to die of a lack of food. Zombies have an eternal hunger for flesh, they prefer the brain and heart over anything else. The mutated need human flesh to survive. Without it, they fall into a state of decay until they are no more. The second way was to destroy their central command organ.
With the Mutated, so came the Resistant. Human who were bitten or scratched but who didn't die. The amount of the zombie disease a Resistant could handle varied from person to person. Nobody knew why. The Mutated turned the war around in the favour of the Zombies. The impact of the Resistant on the war wasn't big enough. The brain Mutated brought strategy to the war on the side of the Zombies while the heart Mutated brought the brawl required to take down tanks and the like. The Resistant simply didn't die by the disease but even with their increase in strength and stamina, they still couldn't keep up with the heart Mutated.
Country after country fell and the horde of undead grew stronger and stronger. They arrived at Trinea. The Trineans had build a wall around their city, made underground roads to their farms and mines and had even attempted to build a wall around their entire country. The Zombies arrived before the wall was finished. The Mutated had made the Apocalypse go to fast. 3 quarters of the wall around Trinea stood high and mighty, but three quarters was not enough. The wall around Trinea was finished where the Zombies first came across the country, the north and in the west and the east as well. Rather than forcing their way in, the Zombies moved to the countries around it. Even with the brain Mutated there were no generals or creatures that fulfilled that role. Soon only Trinea was left.
When the Zombies found out about the gap in the south of the wall, they went through it and invaded Trinea. Most of the southern part of the country was lost in a matter of days but the city drew away the attention of the Zombies the rest of the country. They encountered a wall again, but this time the undead could smell human flesh.
The battle had been long and harsh. Most of the Trineans had died. They didn't know how they had won the fight for Trinea from the undead. It had all happened in one night, suddenly the walls were breached and the Trineans had to fight for their lives in every corner of the city. The counsel that ruled Trinea had been massacred. For some reason, a large group of warriors had arrived. They were Northmen. The North-West and North-East of the city had mostly survived, but the South was destroyed. The South had only survived because the Northmen came. After the battle of Trinea, the wall around the city was repaired and the undead were vanquished from the streets. It is believed that there are no more Zombies inside of the city.
People believe there are still other survivors all across the world. They occasionally come across a fed of them and take them back to the city, but the defence forces of Trinea dare not venture through the southern gap in the wall to find more. Right now they just keep the farms and mines under control, for as much as they can. Sometimes larger groups of Zombies enter through the gap, forcing all the the inhabitants of Trinea back in the safety of the inner walls, until the group is gone again or destroyed by the defence force.
Geography
-Currently known countries:
Trinea
The city of Trinea lies in the centre of the country of Trinea.
A wall has been built around the city.
The city is divided into three factions, who are divided by the river Gigos. The riven Gigos divides the city into three parts, the Southern part (the largest one) the North-Western part (second largest) and lastly the North-Eastern part (smallest). The Southern part is as big as a third of the city.
During the preparation, the Trineans build some factories in the North-Western part, research centres in the North-Eastern part and farms in the Southern part and just across the wall. The farms were equipped with the most advanced technology to make them as high yielding as possible. Still, with the population of Trinea these farms are not enough.
Throughout the rest of the country are old farms and mines. Some are still held by the Trinean defence force for the resources and food their produce.
Around Trinea a wall was build. Though there is a gap in the south due to the fact that the wall was never finished. The gap is about as big as a quarter of the borders of Trinea. The wall around the city is called the inner wall and the wall around the country is called the outer wall.
There are three factions in Trinea:
Scientia
Scientia is the faction that inhabits the North-Eastern part of the city. They own little but their own land.
The most important part of Scientia are the research centres. One day the Trineans hope those centres will give them a means to end the disease. For now all the research is used for creating more Resistant and better weapons.
Scientea is friendly towards both Grinï and Trin.
The Scientea call themselves Trineans.
Trin
Trin is the faction that controls the North-Western part of the city. They also own some mines and the farms directly outside of the wall on their own side and the side of the North-Eastern part.
The most important part of Trin are the factories. Trin own the only factories capable of making advanced weaponry and war machines.
Trin is friendly towards Scientea. They have had some incidents with the Grinï. This almost, if not for the actions of Scientea, resulted in war.
The Trin call themselves Trineans.
Current mayor of Trin: Dr. Prof. Gerard Ellestine
Grinï (to make the ï, press shift+" and then press i)
Grinï is the faction that holds the Southern part of the city. They are a mix of Trineans and Northmen from the country Grinï.
The most important task of Grinï is to provide food and safety. They are often closest to the Zombies, when they 'invade'. (To invade: a large group of Zombies enters territory where there are few to no undead.)
The Grinï own both the farms inside the wall and outside the southern part of the wall. They also own most of the farms in the rest of Trinea and some mines. The mines produce for the benefit of the factories in Grinï. The Grinï are trying to build their own war factories but have had no success so far (Scientea is denying them the knowledge because they may use the factories to attack Trin, which the Grinï found to be a proper argument).
Grinï is friendly towards Scientea but hostile towards Trin.
The Grinï call themselves Gri'ers.
The defence force
After the incident that almost resulted in war between Grinï and Trin, the defence force has consisted of people from Scientea, Trin and Grinï. It was meant to keep the truce between Grinï and Trin and has done just that. Between the soldiers from different factions exists a lot of hate. The factions have started to drift apart and the first signs are visible in the army.
The defence force is responsible for keeping the city safe, prevent a war between factions and to reclaim most of the country of Trinea. It's ultimate goal is to finish the construction of the outer wall and to guard it for as long as Scientea need to produce a vaccine against zombification. Then they will ''reclaim the outside world''.
Resistant
The Resistant are humans who have a natural Resistance to the zombie disease. They either end up in a Scientea testing room or the defence force. The Resistant are more or less able to survive the zombie disease. The amount of the disease they can survive varies from person to person. Those who die before the disease killed them are called 'F-Resistant', f stands for fully, though some people also say 'Fucking-Resistant'.
After contracting the disease, the Resistant become stronger and more durable than regular humans. They are not as strong as the Mutated.
Hierarchy
The factions have a simple hierarchy:
Worker (people who work)
Overseers (people who oversee the workers)
Officers (people who help govern the faction)
Mayor (the person in charge of the faction)
Trinea as a whole is rules by the three Mayors.
The defence force has the following hierarchy (the defence force is divided into several divisions):
-Scout:
Scout (soldier who scouts and scavenges)
Sniper (soldier who hunts mutated)
Lord Scout (general of the scouts, there is only one)
-Internal:
Police officer (soldier who plays a police role in the factions)
Secretary of Police (general of the Internal force, one per faction)
External:
Soldier (either infantry or cavalry)
Officer (leader of a group of soldiers, often a combination of infantry and cavalry)
General (leader of a group of officers)
Lord General (the highest general in the External force, also outranks the Lords Scout and the Secretaries of Police)
The Lord General is appointed by the three Mayors.
The Zombies
The Zombies rule most of the world. They are undead creature who can only be killed by destruction of their brains. They crave human flesh, spread their disease to their victims and have more strength than a regular human. They also have an endless amount of stamina and will react to anything they hear or see.
Apart from the regular Zombies there are also the Mutated. The Mutated come in two forms:
The brain Mutated:
Zombies who's brains have mutated. They are able to think up to some point and the smartest of them are even able to talk and plan strategies. Brain Mutated are hard to kill because they have the ability to learn and to try to survive.
The heart Mutated:
Zombies who's hearts have mutated. These zombies have more strength than other zombies and are able to destroy tanks and concrete wall and the like. Some of the advanced ones are even able to regenerate cells. heart Mutated zombies can be killed by either the destruction of the brains or the heart.
Unlike regular zombies, the Mutated need to eat to survive.
Rules
Let me start this one by saying, I don't want too many rules. Some of these will therefore be more like guidelines than actual rules.
Rules:
-Proper behaviour amongst roleplayers.
-No power playing (unless your the mother of all heart+brain Mutated, then it's okay)
-No sexual scenes. Take that to the pm's and let it fade out before anything really happens in the roleplay.
Guidelines:
-Make your English as understandable as possible (in other words, try to use correct English)
-Try to post at least once a week and if you can more than once. It's not that I want this rp to be super fast, but I'd rather keep the post ratio high than low ^^
-Try to bring out the horror of the situation in your posts. I think that with this rp that will make things a lot more fun

Biography/Background story:
Neil was born and raised in the Scienta section of Trinea to educated and sophisticated parents who wanted to see their legacy carried on through a child. Much to their joy, Sophia's pregnancy brought twins into the Watson household. Born only 37 seconds apart, Neil and Lam were inseparable during childhood. They would dress the same, not so much by their own preference but rather their mother's, which they used to their advantage to help one another and confuse other people. The only distinction between the two was Neil's prominent widow's peak, hidden by a messy haircut both boys sported.
As they grew older and aged into their teens, the two began to display many more differences as they changed their appearance and developed different senses of style and grew interested in different areas. As the older son, even if ever so slightly, Neil was supposed to become a doctor/scientist for Scienta and lead the team that creates a cure for the zombie outbreak, and Lam was meant to be one of his co-workers. Neil, however, had other ideas. He developed a passion for sport, football in particular, and he was damn good at it, carrying his team to victory four years consecutively. After suffering from a femur fracture, he was unable to play for the rest of the season, resulting in a heavy depression and taking up drinking as a hobby. While never developing alcoholism, Neil became distant from his family and continued to drift further and further away from his likely career as a scientist. By now he had become a recluse, drinking a half-pint bottle of bourbon whiskey a few times each week almost religiously. He didn't enjoy the sensation of drinking alone, and in an effort to impress people while in a drunken state he tore off a street sign with relative ease, showing off his power. This went well with the strangers, but he was later detained at a police station where he was fined for the damage and warned for impeding an officer in his line of duty. The officer was lenient and decided not to charge him with the indictable offence as this would limit his career prospects in the future, potentially preventing or delaying a cure to be found. Neil decided to stay in the station gaol for the night, as he knew his parents would have been less than impressed if he were to show up drunk in a police vehicle.
It took only a few days after his drunken incident, but Neil had finally found a profession he was interested in. He wanted to become a police officer. He proudly presented this development to his parents, who were nothing short of ashamed and disappointed that their eldest would-be prodigal son would rather "walk around with a gun than save the world." Upset at his parents for not supporting him in his decision, Neil left home and slept in the streets of Scienta for two nights. After deciding he should find a place to stay and pursue his desire to become an officer; Neil remembered his glory days of being a successful rising star in football, and figured one of his previous team mates would gladly give him a bed to sleep in. The only address he remembered was only three blocks from his house, and belonged to his best friend in high school - Timothy McGrath. As he arrived he discovered that the McGrath's had moved, luckily the new tenants were friends of the family and knew where they moved - to central Trin. With a thank you Neil left the house and went back to his own home. Climbing a big oak tree, he sneaked through his bedroom window and filled up two sports bags with clothes and what little money he had in his room. He decided to leave his family a note on his bed, detailing how he feels towards them for how they reacted to his decision, that he's sorry he wasn't the son they wanted him to be and apologised to his brother, still one of his closest friends, for leaving him to deal with the "dictators of the household".
So began his trip. It took a further two days to get from his house to the McGrath's new address. On the way he slept at a bus station and a gas station over the two nights, where he found his distinguishable tan stetson cowboy hat. Since then he's been asked numerous times how he got the hat, to which he replies: "No story, I just tried it on and it fit." Upon arrival to his friend's new house, he was welcomed with open arms by his family who had always been fond of him. They agreed that a police officer is a great career path and he should pursue it, and that their house was open to him as long as required.
Neil graduated from the police academy with an average score, a high aptitude and moderate physical fitness, with notable performance in situational awareness. He is currently an officer in Trin and holds no grudges against Scienta or Grinï, however he is not afraid to get physical and often goes awry from the normal protocol for dealing with criminals. After a few short years in service his peers discovered his quick-draw speed and hip-fire accuracy, and dubbed "Doc" in reference to John "Doc" Holliday, the infamous gunslinger from almost 200 years prior.
Grinï
Played by: CallaLily
Name/Nickname: Amani/Stealer
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Hetero/Homo/Bi: Heterosexual
Faction: Grinï (In the defense squad)
Position: Scout
Weapons: Two daggers hidden in her boot.
Two Glock 19s with about fifteen rounds of 9mm hollow point bullets for each.
Brass knuckles for hand to hand of course.
Appearance:
Personality: Amani is a girl of many traits, when she is in battle she is cold and heartless, at home she is a friend, at 'work' she can be anything really. It all depends on what she has to be.
Biography/Background story: I might as well tell you about her nickname. She is called Stealer for her uncanny ability to steal secrets, sometimes she gets you on your knees begging for mercy, sometimes she is the friend that in the end you tell everything. It has been this way before and after the apocalypse and yes, she does sometimes resort to more..dirty things but that won't be necessary. Anyways, the reason she gets secrets is her mission to someday be on top of the food chain, a major blackmailer and to some a threat.

Name/Nickname: Victoria Redder
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Hetero/Homo/Bi: Hetero
Faction: Grinï Defence Force
Position: Sniper

defence force
Played by: Gamer5
Name/Nickname: Renia Lönear AKA Snyper
Age: ~21
Sex: Female
Faction: Defense Force (default faction) - Actually a new comer from outside of the city.
Position: None for now.
Appearance:
Personality: Snyper is a calm and calculative person, it's rare that she does something without thinking about it first. Even trough her long silences may make her appear emotionless she cherishes her friends and she is ready to do almost anything for a close friend. Otherwise a normal person.
Biography/Background story: Little is know about Renai's history except for the fact that she is a peerless marksman with enough survival skills to allow her to make all the way from somewhere in the north to the city of Trinea on her own. Two of her possessios: a camouflage ("ghillie") suit and military uniform, the later having a CCL badge next to a human figure and a X badge next to a vehicle pointing the fact that in she had over 250 kills and destroyed over 10 vehicles as a soldier, point to her being a member of a military unit. (More to be revealed in IC).
She also carries her own equipment (I am using real word weapons for simplicity's sake) which I list here:
Throwing Knives
Taser (Stun) Gun
IMI Desert Eagle VII .357 Magnum (9 rounds magazine, SA)
FN P90 PDW (50 rounds magazine, SF)
Steyr AUG A2 (Variosu magazines, SF)
Barrett M82 (10 rounds, SA)
Some food & water supply, portable survival-needed equipment as well as needed sniping equipment like rangefinders.
Played by: Ludonear Ferta
Name/Nickname: Ryder Pond aka Ghost
Age: 35
Sex: Male
Hetero/Homo/Bi Hetero
Faction: Defense - External
Position: Special: trainer
Appearance:
Ghost also wears a mask, but it's a simple black cloth covering his mouth and nose.
Ghost rarely takes his equipment off and when he does, he's alone. His actual face is unknown to all those but his superiors.
Personality: Ghost is strict in everything he does, especially enforcing his moral code. Ghost does interact with his students often which turns him into a seemingly emotionless teacher. To those close to him, Ghost is a caring, if not unsociable, person. Then again, the people close to him have all died.
Biography: The only things known about the past of Ghost is that he used to be a very promising soldier who should have been a general and why he got the nickname he has: while being a member of scout Ryder was able to venture beyond the gap in the wall, scout a huge group of undead moving towards Trinea (country) and get back without anybody noticing he ever left. But then, one day, he suddenly resigned to become a trainer.
Zombies
Played by: Ludonear Ferta
Original name/nickname: Lilianne Prince / Princess of the End
Age of death: 16
Sex: female
Appearance:
Personality:
The Princess is a manipulative creature who will use everything at her disposal to her advantage, mostly her charisma. Lillianne is mean, vicious and evil to the core. She views everything around her as a playground designed only for her, the living creatures in it her destined play things. Lillianne likes to bully and torture people, she specifically enjoys watching somebody slowly succumb to the zombie disease. Lillianne doesn't believe in Zed or that she was chosen to lead the undead but she will use both assumptions some humans make to her advantage. Lillianne only hates the living who defy her, and since she is an undead, that's basically everyone.
Biography/Background story:
Lillianne was a straight-a student of the northern lands. Being born in the north means learning how to fight and Lillianne excelled at every style that was based on skill and allowed the martial artist to fight dirtily. From a very young age Lillianne has had a strong control over her environment through her charisma and manipulativeness. At school she quickly became the most important student, both socially and academically. She used her power to abuse those weaker than her, which was accepted due to the culture of the nothern lands.
Something to note is that Lillianne, while being a seemingly fragile small girl, had a different body from most people. There are many rumours about this body of hers, mostly concerning secret government bio-engineering theories, but the result is all the same, Lillianne has always been stronger, smarter and faster than she should have been based on her physique.
When the apocalypse came, Lillianne was bitten like many others but she was a bit different. Due to her special body, the zombification went differently. Lillianne did not lose her mind like the others. In fact, Lillianne soon became aware that she could control other undead. While all this was happening, Lillianne still pretended to be human. Nobody questioned her, such were her manipulative skills. And so the first Mutated was born...
Lillianne didn't just hide, though, she experimented. At first, it was just controlling the undead. Causing them to lose here, making them win there. She hid her actions well to make it seem like luck or bad luck so that nobody suspected a thing. When Lillianne felt like she knew the full extend of her power over the other undead, her experimenting entered a new phase.
The first time she tried to infect someone went as well and according to plan. Due to the privileges Lillianne has gained it was easy to capture and observe her victim, the chaos of the war was in her favour. Unlike when a regular undead bit an undead, Lillianne's victim remained some of her intellect. After a few more victims, Lillianne found that the intelligence of her victims varied so much that some even seemed to be regular undead. That is when Lillianne made a mistake. Lillianne wasn't the only one with special genes in her family. Her brother had a special body as well. He wasn't smart, at all, but his body was huge and just like Lillianne, even more so than her actually, his strength and speed exceeded the limits of his body. Lillianne decided to bite this massive monster of a brother to see the results. The results were disastrous. With the death and reanimation of her brother, a new strand of Mutated was born. Lillianne had secretly spread her infestation of Brain-Mutated, but the spread of the Heart-Mutated was much more violent and less discrete. Lillianne had to flee the army she was travelling with since her brother single handedly destroyed it, so great is the power of the original Heart-Mutated, a beast that roams the world to this day, just like Lillianne.
Lillianne expected the destruction of the army though, that was not the mistake she made. The real mistake was thinking she could control him. Lillianne found that Brain-Mutated were hard to control, but her brother's mind was like an impervious fortress to her manipulations. In fact, Lillianne has never been able to control the more powerful of the Heart-Mutated like the ones following her brother around in a pact. She had those killed and simply took control of the weaker ones. (Weak is a relative term when it comes to the Heart-Mutated.)
After Lillianne fled she created at army, let by Brain-Mutated loyalist who often also have the power to control the other undead, though they are not as powerful as Lillianne. She left the name Prince behind and turned it into Princess of the End, occasionally placing her name in front of it. Her army was growing in strength as it rode the momentum of the Mutation (at that moment only the Heart-Mutated were known, but most undead victories were as devastating as they were due to Brain-Mutated employing tactics and strategy). Now, Lillianne controls most of the undead. In the north she even allows the cultists to live in order to create a food source for her Mutated while the horde moves southwards, to the final bulwarks of Humanity and while they probably have never heard of Lillianne, Princess of the End, all should fear her. And her monstrous brother should he ever decide to show his face down there.
The Cultists
Played by: Ludonear Ferta
Human:
Name/Nickname: "Master" (real name unknown).
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Faction: Cultist
Position: High lord of the Trinean cept (aka the big bad boss of the cultist organisation)
Appearance:
The face is a mask, the Master's real face is unknown.
Personality:
The Master is a cruel and harsh man, as you would expect based on the cult he rules. He shows his perverseness, in the sexual and horrorish meaning of the world, to everyone who wishes to see. The Master often uses his own sins to explain that life is evil and that only death should prevail. He is absolutely fascinated by the undead and will do anything to please them. (Except scarifying himself or the more important members of the cult since it would disrupt his ability to help the 'holy warriors of Zed'. He shows a great hatred towards survivors and Trinea due to their will to defy Zed his ultimate wish, the purge of all evil.
Biography/Background story: unknown.
