a smith? you mean like, a blacksmith?

Pretty much, the guy who makes/maintains weapons,armor, and such. Ammunition as well in some cases.

That's cool. Vy's kind of an urban legend around there. She lives in a cabin in the woods on the outskirts of the village. Most think of her as a menace since she steals stuff, but no one dares to go up to her to complain or arrest her because people have the roars of her hybrid form. And more importantly, so have the more dangerous predators. The village guard is grateful for that at least. Maybe you could try and be her first friend?

Considering Allen spends his time around wood and metal without conversing with people very much, it would make sense. However, do remember that he will avoid touching weapons at all if he can help it. So with that in mind, someone else with the smarts to take care of weapons might be useful.

Well, maybe she'll steal something really, really important to him/her and he'll/she'll be determined to have it back. Or maybe they're new to the island and are more curious than scared of the demon that lives in the forest?

I'll have him be the only person to consistently chase Vy whenever she steals something from the town. Maybe discover where she lives at some point?

And are there any requirements of as to the length of the history? Asking because I think I have a slight case of writers block.

I'm thinking so far the best pick would be either Narumi or Satanio, but meh, I'd rather it be agreed upon who gets to fight the meddling navy lieutenant and his dog too.

Do you mean above or below?
If you mean above, I believe he'd be a Commander, if below, he'd be just a Lieutenant.

Toridus is Frigate Lieutenant. The only comparable rank to this position is just Lieutenant. The nest in line from there is Lieutenant Commander, and the rank under it is Lieutenant Junior Grade. For the reference I used to figure this out, go here.
