It is the farthest edge of the known world.
Some may call it the land of heretics.
Sorcerers of each land have traveled here to study and share the arcane knowledge.
What they found was nothing the world should have unveiled.
A throne made out of clearest glass, forged into the rocks of the mountain Qaszad.
The Bleeding Throne.
For the throne was of strongest magic, the righteous and self claimed King of the Valkyrie,
he himself was bleeding on this throne to nourish the lands and bring hope to the people.
But the Dark has not fallen.
It grasps for the powers that reside inside the throne and it's touch corrupts the men of battle.
Without the embers of a strong willed firekeeper, this land will soon crumble under it's own power...
Welcome fellow RPers. This is my own approach to a Dark Souls styled RP.
Since Dark Souls has a very interesting lore and a lot of interesting scenery to show, I was immediately thrilled to add my own ideas to this. Since the idea of the Firekeeper is a very unique setting for the game, I am focusing the story on a "soon-to-be" Firekeeper that a group of travelers will protect and escort to the Bleeding Throne, the central seat of the Valkyrie Kingdom.
On their way, they will meet very interesting people, hideous monsters that will try and rip their souls out and reach their goal to cleanse the land from the upcoming darkness.
Let me get the rules out really quick. I wish for all participants to have read them and understood the shared value of this experience.
1. If problems arise throughout the IC, please remain polite and address such problems in the OOC. Should people not come to terms, it will the GM (me) or Co-GMs to decide what will happen.
2. Joining this RP, you accept that you will not leave without telling the people in OOC and that you follow the unwritten(?) guidelines to Casual RPing, which are one paragraph at least, no double-post unless it is necessary and discussed, no "auto-hitting", no "God-modding" and a clean environment inside the OOC. Your character may use foul language as he pleases, but the OOC is to talk about problems and plan with others ahead.
3. Though your English cannot be the most perfect, please make sure that your sentences are understandable and cleanly written out. Some mistakes can occur, but leaving a cluster of words as a sentence is both poor and leaves others confused.
4. Sexual content should not be addressed inside a group RP. If it is necessary for you, then please PM-RP that person.
5. To bring a little flow to this RP, I wish to see some activity on this. Therefore, I'd like to see participation from each player and some posts. To address this, I want you to be able to post at least twice a week, or roughly every three days. If you are not able to do that, I'd like to see quality over quantity. If you are unable to post at least once a week, we need to talk...
6. Some rules might follow...
For those that are aware of the rules and would still like to participate, I would like to have a Character Sheet from you.
It should look like the following:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Preferred Weapon*:
Preferred Armor*:
Gift*:
Darksign?*: Yes or No
Preferred Weapon Tab:
There are multiple weapon classes to choose from. Each weapon has advantages and disadvantages that will play out during offensive maneuvers.
Fists - Despite having the smallest range of all weapons, fist weapons and claws have shown to provide interesting patterns for battling foes. Agility and strength affect the use of such a weapon greatly.
Hammer - Very slow weapon that ignores the physical resilience of the target.
Axe - Very slow weapon that ignores shields, may break shields.
Sword - The most common weapon. Able to swing with strength, but easily avoidable through shields and barely injures heavily armored men.
Katana - Unlike the sword, this blade is fast, precise and can cut through armor. Lacks overall strength, though.
Spear - Long range melee weapon, but easily blocked. Pierces armor, but swords and shield can easily toss the tip aside.
Bow - Easy ranged weapon. Used to fire fast, but deals less harm.
Greatbow - A ranged weapon that can pierce for armor, but takes a long time to aim and to shoot.
Crossbow - Shieldbreaker and precise weapon, but clearly lacks the speed.
Whip - A weapon made to throw a foe to the ground or disarm them. Impractical in dealing damage.
Staff - Mostly used to channel the powers of a mage.
Preferred Armor Tab:
Five classes of armor. The heavier the armor, the better it is in taking damage.
Cloth - No defense, best means to camouflage and move.
Light - Perfect for moving in a fight. Most weapons harm you a lot, though.
Medium - Blunt weapons do less damage. Simple dodges are still working, but rolling and dashing will take it's toll
Heavy - Armor made to last. It takes a lot of beating, but moving is not working that well.
Dragon - Heaviest armor known. Without proper training, dropping to the ground might be the end.
Gifts
Divine Blessing - Treats any injury, removes poison and curses and is a sign of faith.
Ring of Frost - This ring with a snowflake carving was given from hand to hand to help through a harsh winter.
Twin Humanity - Rare tiny black sprite found on corpses. A mysterious item.
Binoculars - Spotting item
Vial of Blighted Blood - This cursed liquid is what remains of your lost family. It emits a glitter when close to the servants of chaos.
A Daleflower - A rare herb with unknown effects. It scents bitter.
Necklace of Gloom - A trinket for travelers. Rumored to keep enraged spirits at bay.
The Jester - A card with no purpose...
The Darksign:
The curse of the undead that linger on the people. If the Darksign is branded in your soul, your body will rebirth at a bonfire, but it will slowly crumble to leave nothing but a hollowed figure.
Choosing the Darksign is starting the characters off as "Hollow". People will address them as Undead and remain cautious towards them. On certain occasions, the Hollow form can be removed to look human, but death will return the horrid figure.
Also, people with no Darksign are little more resilient in fighting.

The Gryphon - Slay? the beast at the borders of these lands
