The Estate

You learn quickly that there isn’t even any classrooms in this place, it’s just a large elegant home.

A woman stands at the entrance and waits for your arrival, her smile is warm and her aura seems to glow. “Welcome. I’m Alethia, I will be one of your mentors while you stay here. Classes will run personally for each student when the time comes. So please make yourself at home, and please try to get along with your fellow roommates.” She waves her hand to the entrance.

Euphae plopped her bags down on the floor and sunk lazily into a cushy sofa in the entrance hall. Of course, she was the first one to arrive at the "academy", but she didn't want to be the one awkwardly milling around waiting for others. She stared up to the high ceiling and sighed. 'Well...' she thought to herself boredly 'at least the place is nice.'

Solomon stood back in the group, trying to surround herself with Canines and Felines that didn't have black hair. She looked around nervously at all the unfamiliar faces and snacked on a bag of fish shaped crackers. She spotted a white haired girl with wings nearby and wandered over to her. "Hi there." She said as she finished chewing. "I'm Solomon."

Lydia nervously walked inside, scared to be around all of these people, not matter even if some where part of her species. She had just set her bag down when a voice spoke up next to her, scaring the girl and causing her to let out a squeak and jumped. She whirled around to face the girl, ears flat atop her head in surprise and shock. "H-Hello, I-I'm Lydia." She said softly.

Larkin strode inside the house, not caring if he bumped to people on his way or not. How dare his brother ship him off like he was nothing but a piece of furniture! Larkin growled deeply in his chest and refrained from punching the nearest wall, not really feeling like getting yelled at in the present time. Instead he plopped down in a chair, glaring at anyone that was foolish enough to come near him.

Solomon wanted to keep the conversation going, but also didn't want to ask something she couldn't answer herself so 'where are you from' and 'who are your family' weren't good topics. "What's your favorite food?" She asked in a desperate attempt to keep talking.

Emilia smiled at the woman and bowed her head, her white fluffed tail swayed behind her elegantly as she walked in to the room wearing a pair of dark skinny jeans and a black tank, her eyes tainted yellow looked around the room at the few girls that arrived. When she spotted the first feline she felt shiver run up her spine. What an odd scent. She admitted wrinkling her nose. She didn't know who to walk up to first, so she decided to sing the eenie meenie song in her head and landed on the other dark haired canine who was curvy like Emilia but was only slightly larger than her with being 5'6, taller than most girls in the room. She walked over calmly and smiled. "Hello. I am Emilia."

Her eyes sliding up to meet Emilia's, Euphae nodded slightly in her direction. "Hello there." She said, barely audible, before returning her gaze to the glazed floor under the feet of the newcomers. Euphae had little interest in the people pouring into the entrance, but she knew she could probably get a couple good laughs from some of them if she watched them for a few more days. "When do we get to our rooms?" she added loudly enough to interrupt all of the conversation happening around her.

Her eyes narrowed at the girl. Rude.. Was pretty much what she interpreted from the girl's lack of interest in getting to know anyone. I already hate this place. Her demeanor changed to the bittersweet thing Emilia was known for. She stepped away from the girl and more towards the people who were obviously more sociable than this butterfly.She then pointed to a door that announced that rooms will be first come, first serve.

The teen swung herself up from the couch and headed for the door that she hoped would be the bedrooms. "Thanks, Emi." she put her hand on the canine's head as she passed by on her way to the designated door. 'I hope we're not sharing rooms.' Euphae sighed to herself as she entered a hall of doors and name placards. Seeing all the doors was dizzying but at the same time a little exciting. She wondered where the Dean was in all of this.

She quickly smacked the hand away from her head. "Don't touch me and don't give me a pet name. It's Emilia." She was ready to rip the girl's throat out for ever thinking she could touch her. She didn't bother going to find her room, she never liked sleeping inside anyways. She turned the other way and worked her way down the hall towards the back doors that opened up to a beautiful patio where pools were everywhere with waterfalls along with luxurious lounges. "Either they are planning to kill us, or they are planning for us to kill each other." She groaned.

"Well, she wasn't exactly polite now was she?" A voice from behind Emillia said. A brown haired boy came up beside her, resting his arms on a railing. "My name's Philip, by the way, who're you?" His bright green eyes gleamed with his smile as he held out his hand, and warmth practically radiated from him. He seemed far too innocent to be here.

Emilia turned and shook her head in agreement. "Tell me about it." She huffed and rolled her eyes at the girl's attitude. She then turned and smiled warmly at the boy, his eyes were so green they practically sparkled. "My name is Emilia." She reached out her hand and shook it firmly. "Nice to meet you."

Philip's eyes seemed to get even brighter as she took his hand. "Wish I had my swimsuit'" he said, looking over at the pools. "But it's burried in my bags somewhere." He sighed, leaning his chin on his hands. "Hey, do you think there's any good cafes nearby?"

She looked towards the water and couldn't agree more. The pools were crystal clear and the lights illuminating them made them look that much more inviting, plus the air was warm enough for it not to bother for a late night swim. "Mine is too, maybe later we can come down and take a late night swim." She smiled at him and looked back at the water, the mentioning of a warm dirnk took her attention. "Maybe, this place looks extravagant enough, shall we go on a hunt for one?" She turned and headed back inside, but waited to see if he would follow.

Lydia gave the girl a confused look. Now, she didn't have mush experience in much social conversation but she was pretty sure it really didn't randomly include food preferences. "U-Um...F-Fish." She said quietly. She heard that rooms were first come first serve and gave the girl a timid smile before she disappeared through the door. She walked for a few moments before opened a random door. The room itself was lavender in color and held a bed, dresser, nightstand, two doors which she was sure lead to a bathroom and a closet and a large bay window over-looking the pool. She smiled and wrote her name on he place card, claiming the rooms as hers. She set her bag down on the bed and crossed the window, looking out of it.

Larkin stood and strode over to the door that lead to the rooms. He picked a random room and stepped inside. The room was a dark forest green with brown tones. He examined it and found it to his liking. He wrote his name on the card and flopped down on the bed. He hoped they didn't have to share rooms; he wouldn't be able to deal with having another person in his room.

Phillip was mentally unpacking his suitcases trying to figure out where he packed his swimsuit when he realized he was standing alone. Hurrying to catch up, he walked beside Emilia. "So what do you like to drink? Chai is always good." His eyes shifted to hazel and he suddenly looked sheepish. "Sorry, I'm blathering aren't I? I haven't met anybody new in a few years so I'm trying to figure it out as I go."

She waited for him to show up next to him and smiled. "Yeah, I like chai, but I am a chocolate person so mochas and frapps are good too." It was nice that she could finally have a conversation with someone without feeling awkward or attacked like the oh so lovely canine she met downstairs. She looked back at him and frowned. "You're not blathering. I enjoy your company." She smiled warmly behind him before almost running in to a map of the entire place. "Oh look!" She trailed her finger down the list and her eyes brows raised. "They really do have a cafe. It's on the third floor next to the dining area." She smiled. "Want to check it out?"

Phillip smiled and nodded. "Sure, I'd love to. Then maybe we can find our swimsuits. Going for a swim is sounding more and more attractive as I think about it." He tried not to think about how seeing her in a swimsuit was sounding more and more attractive to him too. I just met her. I need to wait at least a day before I start spouting off dumb pick up lines.

She nodded in agreement. "I've yet to choose my room as well so two birds with one stone." She shrugged. They walked towards a glass and gold elevator. "This place is a bit extreme." She sighed yet her eyes were satisfied with all of the beautiful rooms and chandeliers. Once they hit the third floor, the dining room was opened up and down the hall was the cafe. They walked and sat at one of the tables near the window as a server came up, she looked about their age but her eyes spoke as if she were far older than them. "I'd like a mocha please, extra chocolate." She added sheepishly.

Phillip sat down across from her and looked at the server. "I'll take a Chai tea, thanks." As she nodded and left, Phillip looked back to Emilia. "By the way, my full name is Phillip Hagane, but some people just call me steel because of my last name." His eyes were definitely blue now, and he seemed more calm than chipper.
