Peter grabbed the machete and examined it. "Awh, you checked my wish list." Peter said cheerfully, tossing it aside for the time being. Spider-Man's senses were going crazy now as Kraven stood and stared at them with pure hatred. Peter nodded at Lexi saying three. He knew she didn't have a problem with the police, but way back when when Spidey was getting started, the two weren't at good terms. He was usually called a menace (he still does, but at this time a lot of the city thought it to be true). He had no problem with them now, but the last thing he needed was the swat not only getting in danger for going up against this psycho, but also he didn't need them thinking he was the bad guy. Kraven rushed at him with rage, swiping quickly. Peter spun away, kicking him in the jaw as he did so. Kraven snarled and glared again. "You are beginning to be a pest..." Kraven growled. "I have an act for that." Spider-Man responded, but not before getting tackled to the ground by the large man. His arms were pinned down, the man smelled like animal pelts, and he stared at Spider-man with hunger and hatred. To be completely and totally honest, he would much rather be in a warm moon, where snow wasn't in his underwear right now, and with Lexi staring down at him. "My, Kraven... What sharp claws you have...!" Spidey said as he struggled to get his hands free. "You joke too much." Kraven snarled. He dug his sharp animal-like nails in to Peter's shoulders. He grunted in pain. He was sure Lexi was on her way to get the large man off him, and he also knew that it wouldn't be long until backup (if they absolutely needed it) would show. He couldn't shoot his webs though, he really didn't want Lexi to tackle this guy. Kraven's nails were piercing through his suit and deeper in his skin. Spider-Man shot a web towards the gun lying in the snow, but Kraven moved his hand on Peter's forearm. Just as he'd anticipated. Peter used his other arm to swing his fist on the side of the Hunter's face. Even with Peter's super strength, the punch did little. It let his hands get free though, and with that he pushed Kraven up with his legs and arms, rolling him off Peter. He stood and looked at Lexi, and then everything went in to slow motion again. he turned to see Kraven leaping towards Peter. His shoulders were on fire, but Peter managed to lean backwards as the man barely hit him, another clean cut through his suit. But Peter didn't relax, because Kraven's target wasn't him. It was Lexi.

The battle was intense and as much as Lexi wouldn’t want people to see it, she wouldn’t mind having a recording and watching it after everything was all said and done. Peter was impressive when it came to his fighting style; to think, it wasn’t long ago when she was as clueless about Spider-Man’s identity as the rest of the world and she didn’t even know her best friend was risking his own life to save the city and the people he cared so deeply about. But now he wasn’t doing it alone.

Black Cat sprang into action along with Spider-Man only to be thrown off in another direction. The man was quick, he was quick and strong and they didn’t have much of an advantage on their side. In less than a minute the large man had thrown them in every direction possible including but not limited to straight up and nearly straight through the roof they were upon. This was not good. Not good at all.

Finally Spider-Man and Black Cat were thrown in the same direction, both skidding themselves to a stop in their mastery of balance. “Two.” She said softly. The man seemed to glare at them with the utmost hatred. Which wasn’t all that surprising; the two young heroes were used to the glares and hatred from those who they were suppressing… but they (well Black Cat mainly) had never experienced it in such a creepy manor from a giant of a man with cat hands!

“I have an idea, you’re not going to like it but I think it’s the only chance we’ve got…” She said softly to Spider-Man as she cracked her fingers and flicked her wrists, allowing her wipes to come out. “Keep him distracted for a moment and when the time comes disable his hands as best as you can.” With that she jumped off the building.

She could hear the banter as Spider-Man played his role brilliantly. “1.5” She told herself as she gained speed. Throwing herself off of a side of the nearby building she flew straight for the man from behind, turning at the last second and adjusting her weight she skid along the ground and under him. As he looked down at her with a large amount of surprise she just smiled from behind her mask. “Hi.” In that moment she brought her legs up and with all of her force, shoved them directly into his crotch.

Man or monster that still hurt. The man grabbed a hold of himself and tumbled sideways as Black Cat kicked his legs out from under him. Jumping onto his legs, she pulled the thick strong string from her belt and wrapped it around both of his ankles and up his legs as she listened closely; sirens were blaring as the cops were getting closer to the scene and she also listened for Spider-Man to take out the man ‘s hands.

"Distract him. Piece of Cake." Peter replied, his hands clenched and arms up as he stared at the very large Kraven. Peter has seen better, days, but he's definitely fought worse. His shoulders were bleeding, his blue and red suit torn at a few places, his breathing was heavy, and he really wished he had some warmer clothes. If they guy wasn't going to kill him, hypothermia was. Black Cat ran off, but Spider-Man kept his focus on Kraven. He started for Black Cat, but Peter sprang to life. "Here, Kraven! Stinky Kraven! Oooohh, look at you, you big ugly man-beast!" Peter spoke, his hands on his knees, and voice high pitched. He talked to him as if talking to a pet. The man didn't do much, he had a feeling he was blocking Peter out. Typical.

"So what does this Calypso lady feed you to get your coat so nice and shiny?" Peter called out. He remembered him talking about how he was gifted with abilities by this "Calypso", why not play along with it? that got Kraven to turn his attention to Peter. It was a much stronger and passionate hatred now, and Peter was regretting ever saying that comment more than any other he has ever said. "You do not speak of her, you little--"

"Oh, struck a nerve, eh? What is she? Mother, sister, daughter, lover?" Peter asked. "She is a goddess beyond compare! You do not deserve to even utter her name...!" Kraven bellowed, and then rushed like he's done all night. Peter quickly dodged, grabbing a handful of snow, and quickly making a snowball. "hey, batter-batter! Batter-Swing!" Peter threw the snowball with a lot of force, but with it being just a ball of snow, it really didn't do much to hurt him. Just to buy some time.

At this point in time, Peter let his mind go free, while dodging punches and lunges he was asking questions about him that randomly popped in his head. "Does your arm and chest hair keep you warm in this weather? Does it shed in the summer?" and "Have you ever thought of perusing morally good jobs like being a milkman or taxidermist?" were a couple of questions he asked.

It didn't take long for him to completely forget about Lexi, and solely want to rip Peter apart limb from limb. In a flash Black Cat slid under Kraven, and Peter gave a large winch and "Ouch" when Lexi did what she did. Recovering from the poor sight, Peter did his job and fire off a few shots of web at the man, making his containment even more permanent. He walked up to Kraven who was going in and out of consciousness and gave a salute. "I'm sorry for your loss..." Peter said sincerely, but only got a groggy snarl in response.

Spider-Man could hear the helicopters and sirens going off now, and any second they will be confronted with a lot of angry men with guns. Hopefully they'll bring a lot of tranquilizers. This guy will need it. Peter was curious on how he knew him, and Lexi, but then again they seemed to be pretty famous! That, and he now had a lot more dire emergencies to take care of, like losing feeling in his fingers and making a gross "squish" sound whenever he walked.

The snow was still falling lightly, Kraven was taken care off, and the SWAT was on its way. Not a bad way to end the night. He gave a satisfied sigh, putting his hands on his hips, and looking over at Black Cat. "I bet we can find his cousin, 'Boris the Butcher' if we go to the other side of Manhattan." Peter said sarcastically. "No but in all seriousness i never bought warmer clothes to put under this suit and now i'm soggy and cold and i smell like animal pelts and i'd very much appreciate it if we left before police come and start asking questions and get in to something warm and dry." Peter said rather quickly and his voice a bit defeated. He was sure he was going to get an "I told you so" later tonight, and he will gladly accept that.

Black Cat got his legs and ankles tied tightly together. If it wasn’t for Peter’s quickness, she probably would have been thrown half way across New York City. Jumping up from his legs, she stepped quickly away from the man as Spider-Man finished locking Kraven in place. This was an interesting day to say the least and the young cat figure put her hands on her hips, her fingers tapping against her curves as she turned her attention back to Spider-Man.

Her small lips curled into a smirk, a traditional ‘I told you so’ smirk that he would know from their many years of friendship. “Let us go such for his cousin then. It sounds like Mister Kraven here will have enough visitors to keep him company soon enough.” She said with a nod before giving him a playful jester to follow her.

The young lady jumped off the side of the building and took off into the city. Taking a few turns around the neon lit city she led the way to her house, landing silently onto her rough and sliding into the window. Pulling her helmet off of her face she looked around waiting for Peter to land inside. When he did she turned to him, pulling her hair out of the bun and letting it fall around her face and onto her outfit covered back. “You really need to take the money I gave you and go get a something to go under your suit. Hypothermia does not look good on you.” She said playfully to him.

Closing the gap between them, she slid her arms around his neck and tilted her head. “You know I love you Peter but… I have to tell you something…” She said softly, leaning up to him; she placed her lips near his and whispered, “You smell horrible.” She said with a giggle and planted a kiss on his lips before he could argue with her about it.

Pulling back she grinned up at him, stepping away. “Tell you what, you go get in the shower and clean yourself off and I’ll start a fire in the fireplace. We can cuddle up and drink some hot coco.” Peter’s biggest thing was that he didn’t want to be treated any different even though he was a super hero for the city he loved so much. She wanted to help him continue to be ‘normal’, though; even before the powers, he was anything but normal. And she loved him way before he was a super hero. It was a nice touch but it was necessary for him to win her over. He’s had her heart for a long time.

Peter's shoulders stung, he was shivering, his clothes were wet, and he smelled. If he found anywhere warm and dry he would probably fall asleep and never wake up. Peter gave a smile behind his mask, and his eyebrows raised as she gestured her to follow. He looked over at Kraven and gave a laugh. "See you around, Kraven the Hunter." Peter said, saying his name with a bad thick russian accent, and with that, he was off. Spider-Man watched the SWAT trucks and helicopters go right past them, knowing they'll have a handful if that guy ever wakes up. Hopefully they'll have a place strong enough to keep that guy behind bars for a long time...

The wind was chilling him to the bone as they swung as fast as they could to Lexi's place. It was a rough day. Seeing his best friend so weak, trying to find christmas gifts for everyone, fighting Kraven... He needed to just not do anything for the rest of the night! Peter immediately started to rip out of his suit, starting with his mask and trying his best to peel off the very cold and wet outfit off his upper body, letting the top part of his suit hand down. He decided to keep the lower half of his suit still on his body for now. He looked up to see Lexi letting her hair down, and his knees went weak. He was glad he got the worst of the battle. He was expecting the lecture he was getting, but she hid her annoyance with him with playfulness, which he appreciated a lot more. "Yes, mom..." Peter said teasingly, his hands going to her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He was leaning forward for a kiss, expecting her to say something cute, but was giving a fake hurt expression as she said that. That expression soon melted away when she placed a kiss on his lips. He was cold, but his whole face felt hotter than the sun at that moment.

"Shower, fire, hot cocoa. Sounds great." Peter nodded. Since he was here much more often, and no longer hiding his secret identity, Peter has grown accustomed to keep a backpack in Lexi's room for an extra pair of clothes. Peter made his way for the backpack, and walked towards the door. He stopped and turned around giving a small shrug. "You know, i think the shower's big enough for two if you need to warm up." He gave another shrug as if to say "no big deal", and a smile as he walked towards the bathroom.

---

Peter started the shower, letting the water warm up as he peeled off the rest of his suit. He placed his backpack on the counter, and after a little bit of struggling, he finally threw the cold suit to the side. As he attended to this, though, a small drop of black liquid fell from the shower head. It didn't go through the drain. Instead it slowly crawled out of the shower, making its way away from the loud noise of the water. It crawled across the bathroom floor until it made contact with the wet Spider-Man suit. In desperation the black fluid crawled inside the suit, making it its new home.

Peter didn't see this happening, as he was already climbing in to the shower to warm up his nearly frozen body. He was glad that this night turned out well, with he and his girlfriend spending the night together after kicking some serious butt!

His fake hurt expression nearly had her laughing as she went in to kiss him; his facial expressions were classic and something she always enjoyed about him. His charmingly silly personality that always made her laugh no matter what the situation was. Her Peter always knew how to brighten her day and make her feel a bit of joy, even in her darkest times.

“Oh really?” She called out to him as she began to pull herself out of her own suit. “You think so?” His comment about the shower was cute and inviting and something pulled on her gut and her hear to follow him.

The couple had their ‘couple time’ enjoying a hot shower together in a much needed bonding. That, and they both smelled; and getting un-stinky was very important. Peter built the fire while Lexi put the hot coco. This was just what they needed, they had a rough day and a lot of body stress; so rest, relaxation, coco and being in each other’s arms was the cure for the day.

Carrying the two mugs with whipped cream and marsh mellows she gave her boyfriend a tender smile. “A roaring fire, a handsome man and hot coco; I am a very lucky lady.” She said with a grin as she placed the mugs down on the coffee table and grabbed a nearby blanket. Upon leaving the shower she had dressed in one of Peter’s t-shirts and a small pair of shorts; even though it was a cold day and it was snowing outside, she knew all too well that curling up with Peter would have her toasty warm in no time. Draping the blanket over the seat, she setting down on the couch under the blanket and patted the spot next to her when she got Peter’s attention, “When you’re ready to join me, I’m ready to cuddle.”

The shower was something he wasn't used to with him being the dorky Peter Parker, but he knew he had to make that a habit! He did his best to hide the pain he was feeling in his shoulders, and after looking at the aftermath of the battle, his shoulders and other small cuts should be fine by tomorrow. Peter had some pajama pants, and just an old t-shirt to wear. His thick and messy hair was still a bit damp, but he knew sitting by the fire with his very close to perfect girlfriend would warm him up. As Lexi went to prepare the hot chocolate, Peter grabbed his backpack and spider-man suit from the bathroom, and made his way down the stairs. He shoved his wet Spidey suit in his backpack, and as he did he could have sworn he heard a high pitched hiss. He He stared at his bag for a second, but then shrugged it off. He was exhausted, it was probably his brain making things up. Now it was his job to attend to the fire! As he put a log in to the fireplace, and tended to make sure the flames didn't get out of hand. He remembered when Lexi and him were kids they would try to start fires, and explosions. Of course Lexi's parents hated the idea, and with Peter's science knowledge, it was bound to happen.

Once the fire was at a nice and warm temperature, Peter then pulled his laptop from his bag to do a very quick status update on the city. Kraven was in custody with little resistance, tomorrow was supposed to be colder than before (hooray for crime fighters everywhere...), and a famous celebrity was being accused of being a homewrecker. All the latest on the web... Peter looked up to see a very beautiful woman walk in to the room holding hot chocolate. Peter returned the smile as he closed his laptop, and made his way towards the couch.

"Yeah, the handsome man cancelled last minute, asked me to take his place, so that makes me the very lucky man." Peter said jokingly with a shrug. "Its a good thing you are, because I really need a good cuddle or two." Peter sat down next to her, putting an arm on the top of the couch, sitting close to Lexi. He gave a comfortable sigh and looked over at Lexi, starting at every part of her face giving a soft smile. "All we need now is chestnuts roasting on an open fire and we'd be in a real life christmas movie scene." He couldn't stop his jokes, sometimes they just blurted out, especially when he was nervous. Ever since he started dating Lexi he still got nervous. He worried if he was good enough for her, if he could keep all his promises he made, to never hurt her in any way shape or form...

He leaned forward to grab both cups of hot coco, handing her one gently, and raising as if to give a toast. "To the beautiful woman with the beautiful house that prevented me from becoming a frozen Spider-Man statue outside on a rooftop." Peter smiled and took a sip of his drink, then learned over next to Lexi and gave her a kiss. "I love you, Lex."

Peter and his goofy jokes; she couldn’t imagine cuddling with anyone else. She felt like she had a connection with Peter, from the time of their childhood until now. It has just continuously grown into the connection she had now with him and she wouldn’t have it any other way. As he settled down next to her, it wasn’t long before she was cuddled up to him, not allowing a gap between to the two of them as she settled herself against him in relationship and calmness. A smile moved across her full lips as her closed her blue eyes, “They put in the wrong order. I wanted my Peter Parker, so I’m glad I got the right order.” She said with a small chuckle as she placed her head onto his shoulder.

Upon his moving, she moved off of him and opened her eyes to take her cup from him. She rose her cup in the toast, “To the most amazing man with the goofiest sense of humor and the bravest person I’ve ever known with the hugest heart.” Her cup hit is gently with a clank and she leaned up. “I love you too Peter, with all my heart.” With that she placed a kiss gently onto his lips before pulling back and taking a drink of her coco.

The morning rolled around, the two young kids wrapped in each other arms cough together sleeping like babies after the rough day they had to deal with. The room warm thanks to the heating system in her house kicking on but the reflection of snow and sun echoed in through the window that caused the raven haired girl’s blue eyes to flicker open. A large left her as she pulled herself up from lying down only to have her small bare body jerked back down onto the couch. Peter had a grip on her around her waist that could only make her laugh.

It was the connection… “Peter.” She said softly. “Peter if you let me go I’ll make you bacon.” Her voice was filled with playfulness as she leaned over and gently kissed his forehead before he let her go. Grabbing Peter’s t-shirt she threw it back on along with her shorts and proceeded into the kitchen where she started up the stove and began cooking the bacon, along with eggs and toast. They probably had another long day together but at least they would be together.

Nightmares were a common occurrence for Peter. When he was a kid there were a lot of dreams where he was left by his parents, and now even more dreams have turned dark ever since he became Spider-Man. Yesterday was a break from those nightmares when he spent the night with Lexi, and it also worked this time. Either because he was too exhausted, or he had Lexi there to make sure those thoughts didn't cross his mind. He started to wake as soon as Lexi started to move around, and Peter grabbed her waist gently and pulled her back down, eyes still closed. He didn't want her to leave his side... But he soon hesitated when she said she would make some food. "I'm doing this only because i don't us to starve to death..." Peter said softly, eyes still closed, except to watch Lexi climb off of the couch... Hey, if he climbed off the couch first, she would have done the same thing!

After a minute or two of trying to wake up, Peter sat up, rubbing his eyes, and running a hand through his hair. He collected his own shorts, but he was ironically too hot to wear a shirt right now. A few hours ago he was sure he was going to be frozen alive. He walked in to the kitchen, walking up behind Lexi and putting his arms around her torso. "Anything i can help with?" Peter asked as he kissed her neck. "I'm going to have to go back to my place and fix up my suit... and then there's that homework that's do tomorrow that we've been putting off..." Peter kissed her neck again. It was great being a super hero couple, but they also had the responsibilities of being teenagers.

Putting the bacon on the firing pan, she couldn’t help but smile at the feeling of a set of arms wrapping around her. Leaning back against him, she tilted her head to one side allowing him to kiss her neck a little more. “I have to let you go home?” She said in a playfully offended tone. “But I don’t remember that being part of our agreement. I thought you’d stay all night and day with me….” Her voice became an innocent pouting one as she turned her blue gaze up to him.

After a moment she gave a giggle and looked back at the bacon to insure she didn’t burn it. “You’re right, you always are. Homework is important, and you do need to fix your suit.” She flipped over the bacon and pointed towards the cabinet, “The oatmeal is up there, if you grab it for me I can start making it. But then you have to continue to hold me.” She said playfully. “It’s priority number one.” Of course they had homework to do, it wouldn’t be Christmas time if they didn’t get bombarded with a massive amount of homework. Hopefully Peter will take the money she gave him and go invest in a wet suit or something to wear under his Spider-Man suit; a frozen superhero is never a good thing. Man, she did not want to go back to school tomorrow but alas, it had to be done.

Peter's heart melted as she looked up at him with a pout. He knew she was just joking but he couldn't resist a puppy dog face from the most beautiful woman in the world. "Believe me, i would give away everything just to be with you all night and day... and as for 'always being right', I'm very far from that, I'm still clueless on many things." He looked over at the cabinet she pointed at and he let her go. "Not a chance, I'm done being on the sidelines! I'll make the oatmeal." Peter gave a smile and grabbed the ingredients. "Luckily for you, and the safety of your kitchen, oatmeal is one of the only things I can make."

Peter wasn't that great of a cook, and it kinda showed with him making some mediocre oatmeal, but he was glad he could at least do something for Lexi since she's been making so many meals for the both of them. They ate their breakfast, and Peter kept in mind that number one priority and held Lexi as much as possible... But it soon wasn't long until they both went back to their goofy selves, and decided to play a rather intense game of hide and go seek around Lexi's large house, now that they had their powers. Peter hid on walls and sealed doors shut with his webs, and Lexi had a tendency of sneaking out of the room Peter was hiding... It was break they needed after fighting so many people and going through so much drama, even if it was childish.

They finished their homework as well, with it being chemistry it was very easy for Peter to go though it... They spent a bit more time together on the couch before Peter officially had to leave, wanting to fix his suit and buy something warm for under it before the night patrol. Peter made it home, and busted out the sewing machine in his room (yeah, it wasn't the manliest thing ever, but an essential skill to know if you make your own suits). He pulled out the now dryer Spider-Man suit, and spread it out as he walked around looking for other tools needed to fix it. As he did, the black liquid slowly crawled out of the arm sleeve, and slid under Peter's bed. Again Peter didnt realize the black liquid, and went straight to work on the suit. Not too long after it was repaired, and he threw it in the dryer (with other clothes of his from when he spent the night with Lexi).

The next thing he did was buy a wet suit from a sporting goods store. He got a lot of weird looks, since he didn't look like a sporty type, but he managed to get out of there with not that many people giggling at him. He didn't care, he knew he was going to be warm now. He was supposed to meet Lexi on their rooftop to start the night patrol, and when he landed, he looked a bit thicker thanks to the suit under his costume. He either looked like a skinny marshmallow, or a bit more muscular thanks to it. "Hey, bought suit, thanks for the money." He said to her as he lifted the bottom of his mask to give her a kiss before pulling it down, and motioning his hands towards the City of New York. "Shall we?"

The game of hide and seek was playful and intense at the same time. They both were quick and sneaky about playing the game. Using their powers only made it fun, Peter made one sound and she’d be able to find him and yet if she attempted to sneak out of the room Peter had just stepped into he’s find her thanks to his Spidey senses, no matter who smoothly she did it. It was so much fun so you can’t blame her for joying herself.

Homework on the other hand wasn’t as fun as one would like. Though having her legs draped over his lap and feeling that he was there even when she was focusing on her homework made everything feel much more relaxing and a lot less stressful. When he left, she was disappointed but she knew he had to go him, she didn’t have the fabric he needed in order to fix his clothes. So she remained at her house cleaning it and cleaning her suit and fixing it to prepare to the night.

Soon the night rolled around and she was dressed and ready to go. Meeting Peter on the rooftop she gave him a grin, her lips section lifted up so she could receive a kiss. “I’m glad that you finally got it. Now you won’t freeze and you look even more attractive which is something I didn’t think was possible but I stand corrected.” She said with a grin across her full lips as she bit down on her bottom lips softly. “Shall we? We have a lot of bad guys’ night to ruin.” With that and another kiss they were off. The night went by rather fast; stopping a few bad guys here and there but it was nothing crazy compared to what they had the night before. It was a nice change of pace.

They said their good byes at Lexi’s roof top, per Peter’s ‘I want to make sure you get home safe’ attitude which she appreciated in all of its form. He kept her alive as a friend when she was ‘normal’ and even when she became a superhero with powers, he still looked out for her! Such a caring friend!

Next morning Lexi was able to drive her bug to school thanks to the cleared road and parked in a parking spot. Her fluffy keeping her nice and warm as she walked inside with her backpack on her back. Inside she went to the nearest vending machine and put in a dollar to get herself a hot coco.

“Hey Lexi…” A voice echoed to her and her gaze turned to see Flash had found his way to her, leaning up against the machine in a causal manner. “Did you have a nice weekend?”

“Yes I did, my parents were away so I had the house to myself and…”

“So to the point.” Flash said cutting her off rather quickly, “When are you going to dump Peter?”

“Excuse me?” She asked sounding very insulted and her eyebrows pushed together in a glare.

“Don’t look at me,” Flash said holding up his hands in defense, “There’s been a bet going around at how long you’d last and to be frank, Peter’s not good enough for you.”

“Excuse me?!” She said in a much sharper tone, “I don’t know what you’re trying to play at Flash but I have no intention on dumping Peter nor do I appreciate all the negativity that’s coming from him and me dating. We’re together and we’re going to be together for a while! So you’ll just have to get over it!”

“Calm down Lexi, I’m just saying you could do better.” Flash seemed rather persistent and anger spread over Lexi’s pretty face as Flash continued to talk and she watched her hot chocolate being poured, maybe she could waste a dollar and dump it on his head. Maybe that will get her point across!

The night was much warmer, and less hectic than their last one with Kraven. The two sat on skyscrapers for parts of the night, eating hot dogs, and when they did find criminals they had to tease them and have fun (it was mostly Peter's idea, but Lexi was just as bored as he was!). The night ended with Peter collapsing on his bed, still in the spidey suit. He ripped off the mask, and almost immediately fell asleep. as he did, the black liquid from the few nights before was getting weaker, and weaker. The way it worked was that it needed a host. And it found the perfect specimen. The liquid slowly climbed up Peter's bed, and made contact with Peter's torso, once it made contact the liquid started moving faster, feeling much stronger. The liquid expanded, little tentacles branching out and slowly covered Peter's body.

Peter's spider-senses kicked in, he woke up almost immediately, but the liquid was now almost all over his body. He leapt off his bed, and started to pull away the black ooze, but it only got stuck on his hands, and started to cover him even faster, He had no idea what was happening, but the last thing he remembered was the tentacles covering his eyes.

Peter woke up to his alarm, shooting upright, remembering what happened to him the night before... But he was fine. In fact, he felt more than fine... He felt.. stronger. He looked down and was very surprised to see a Spider-Man suit-- his spider-man suit, but now completely black. The Spider logo was white, as well as the webbing around it. He jumped up, looking at himself in the mirror. He was very concerned about this. The black ooze that haunted him attacked him last night, and instead of killing him, or turning him in to a monster, he just got a darker suit... What was going on? Just then tentacles shot out of the suit around the neck, and wrapped around his face to make the black mask, completing the suit fully. He stared down at his hands, then back at the mirror at his head, and as he thought about the mask coming off, its as if the suit obeyed, leaving his head completely free of the suit... "Huh..." Peter muttered. Just then, he realized he needed to get to school!

Like he usually did with his other suit when he went to school, Peter put clothes over it, and with that he ran down the stairs, kissed Aunt May as he collected the toast and orange juice she made for him, and ran out the door.

He noticed he ran even faster than before-- which was saying something because thanks to the spider bite he already could do that. The more he thought about it, the stronger he felt. It felt kinda good... Before long, he made it to school, barely breaking a sweat. He looked around, held on to his backpack, and trudged through the crowd so he could find Lexi and tell her about all of this. He found her, and a surge of newfound anger overcame him when he saw Flash talking to her. He obviously said something that upset Lexi. A new voice in his head started to say that he had enough of Flash thinking he was the toughest guy around.

He walked over to the two, looking at Flash, and turning him to face him. "Hey, Flash. Something wrong?" Peter asked, tilting his head, his hand still on his shoulder. Flash gave a smirk. "Nah, just having a chat with your 'girlfriend', I don't know how much you're paying her, because she is still holding on that you two are actually a--"

"Flash, for once in your miserable life, just shut the hell up." Peter snapped, the very faint voice in his head giggling a bit. Flash went wide eyed and then gave peter a glare of anger. He never said that to Flash in years he's known him. "Okay, Parker, You're asking for it."

"You're going to hit me again, Flash? I bet your grades would be much better if you could just punch your way through them. What would your hero, Spider-Man think of this?" Peter asked, pushing Flash in to the locker, it wasn't hard enough to hurt, but enough to clearly surprise Flash. "Get the hell away from my girlfriend."

"Oh, you're going to regret this, Parker..." Flash said a bit uneasy, walking away from the two. As soon as Peter turned to Lexi that voice and feeling of anger was gone. "Hey, wasn't bugging you too much, right?" He asked, looking over at the vending machine, and pulling out a dollar. "Look, when school's over, there's something I have to show you in private... Something happened last night."

The more Flash talked, the angrier she got. He kept going on about how people had a bet about how long Peter and her will last because Peter was bound to run out of money soon enough. Either that or she was getting something better out of the deal, like higher grades or something. Her hands balled into fists as she listened to him talk. Why would he talk like this, and why would people even think of something like this?! They couldn’t just let the two be happy? They were happy and that’s all that people should really care about.

The plastic covering opened and she reached in grabbing the hot coco and turned, ready to dump it onto Flash’s head only to see Peter behind him. She felt a bit more at ease seeing Peter there but his reaction was much more then she was expecting. Her eyes widen at his actions and she watched him shove Flash away from her and the large man stumble against the lockers. Even he looked shocked at the situation but he didn’t stick around long enough to follow through with his threat. He most likely wouldn’t do it when Lexi was around.

“It wasn’t anything too crazy; I just wish people would let us be.” She said with a nod before looking back at area where Peter had pushed Flash before looking back up at him as he slid his dollar into the machine to get himself a cup of hot coco as well. “It’s nice to see you standing up for yourself Peter but just don’t go overboard with it okay?” She asked softly, her free hand rubbing gently along his bicep with a smile. “Though I do like you standing up for me; my hero.” She said softly leaning up and giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek.

“But I hope whatever happened to you last night was good. But not as good as our weekend together,” She said with a playful wink. When he got his coco, she slipped her arm into his. “Ready for History class?”

Peter felt the suit under his clothes move a bit when Lexi touched his bicep. He liked her touch... He had been alone with the darkness of his mind for so long that when he felt Lexi's touch, it made him know that he wasn't alone in this. He listened to his words, but he simply nodded, not really sure what she meant. He didn't really know what happened with him and Flash seconds before. He didn't want to insult Flash in that way, or intimidate or hurt him because he knew if he did, Flash would take it as a challenge. He didn't mind being his punching bag who he never second guessed... But now he figured he was going to get more than a shove in a locker the next time Peter was alone...

His face blushed when she commented about their weekend together, giving a smile. "It's definitely not as good as that..." Peter said with a smile, embracing her arm around his, again his suit moving a bit as he body touched his. Of course he didn't think anything of it now, but he should have been more scared about wearing a thing he could only guess was made by the thing that turned Harry in to a monster. "Let's go, pretty lady." Peter said to Lexi with a smile, and together they were off.

The rest of the day wasn't that weird. From time to time Peter would constantly ask what Lexi said when she said absolutely nothing, it was the very faint voice in the back on his head, but he had no idea what that was. He would have some weird urge to punch people who looked at him and Lexi weird as they passed by, which was also weird because he had never had these thoughts before... After school it was back to patrolling the city. This time, it was going to be different. Peter now had this weird suit that he didn't know where it came from. He should have been scared, trying to tear the thing off... But there was some sort of comfort in it. Power. It felt really good. Peter watched himself in the mirror in nothing but the suit, clenching his fits and staring down at it. Now it was time to go test it out!

Spider-Man made it to the rooftop where Lexi and him always met, but this time, he hid behind an air conditioning until Lexi arrived. When she did, he called out to her.He didn't want to tell her about the events that led up to him getting the suit. The less she knew about the slight possibility of danger, the better. "So I don't remember much about what happened last night" That was actually the truth, the more the day went on, the more he forgot about the ooze attacking him. "And I woke up with this suit on my bed..." That part, was kinda a lie, but not entirely. He stepped out in the new black suit. It looked exactly the same as his old one, but instead of blue red and black, it was black grey and white. His body also looked much more toned and fit under it, and unlike his old suit, he was completely warm. He shrugged and twirled around. "Not a bad christmas present, right?" He asked half jokingly, waiting for her judgement.

Peter seemed to have a bit of an attention problem. Sometimes when she would talk to him, she’d have to repeat things she said more than once to him and sometimes he’d ask her if she said something when she hadn’t spoken to him at all. It was a weird mixed feeling of him asking if he had her attention to , she didn’t give him enough attention. Though Lexi knew better than to think too much on it, it was a bit of a weird feeling.

The day went by rather slowly and she couldn’t help but notice that Peter was paying more attention to the people around them and some of people who would give them weird looks for being together. Why would is suddenly matter to him? Was he getting defensive over her? It was cute to think that he’d be willing to stand up for her and say ‘Hey man that girl’s with me, get over it’ but if he went to the point of causing physical damage to someone because they looked at them funny she wouldn’t be too happy about that. Could you blame her though? He had super-human strength which would have put him at a clear and unfair advantage and shouldn’t be using his powers for such things. They were happy and everyone else just had to deal with it.

It was time to go out on the evening patrol and Lexi flung her way to the building she typically met Peter on. She was stretching out her body in the suite before she heard her name being called and turned around. “Whoa!” She said in surprise, “I thought I was going to be the only one in black. Geeze if you wanted matching uniforms you should have just said so.” She said in a teasing voice as she placed her hands on her hips looking him up and down from behind her mask but indicated with a nod of her head up and down. “It looks good. I can’t believe you made that half a sleep and out of a wet suit, I’m impressed.” She gave him a smile as she lowered the flap over her full lips and stepped backwards, she always had fun making Peter chase her around the city as they looked and listened for anyone who would be in need of their assistance.

“Shall we start the night? See how this new suit treats you?” It was time for the chase.

"Yeah... Definitely made the suit..." Peter muttered under his breath. He should have clarified that, it would have made for a much believable story than him just waking up to find it, but he was glad she assumed that for him. Now and again Lexi would like to play with Peter. A game of "Cat and Spider" if you will. Peter grinned behind his mask, and the very faint voice in the back of his head thought this would be a good way to prove its strength. Peter was questioning it mentally, but the thought was gone, and he decided to let it go. "After you." Peter said, letting Lexi get a head start.

As soon as Peter took off he felt incredibly different. His senses were much more aware, his swings were faster, he was more daring at swinging low to the grounding and moving out of a car's way at the last second. He ran along sides of skyscrapers, leaping and doing backflips as he caught himself with a web to continue swinging! This felt... spectacular! He felt like a whole new man! And the more embraced this strange new suit, the more power he felt. It took a bit less time to finally track down Lexi who was swinging as normal, and Peter came in to tackle her, but making sure she wasn't hurt as they tumbled on to a rooftop. She was on top of him, and as he stared at his girlfriend the faint voices died out. "You loose again, rookie." Peter said jokingly, about to ask if she wanted to get something to eat before he heard a gunshot not far from them. He looked at Lexi and let her go, giving her a quick nod before they swung in to action.

Black Cat jumped off the roof and began to swing away. It had become one of their games, and a good excuse to test their speed along with their reaction time. Black Cat loved the feeling of flying through the air and doing spins and flips as she swung herself through the buildings. What she didn’t expect was for Spider-Man to catch up with her sooner than he normally did. She wasn’t expecting the grab from mid-air as they went tumbling across the rooftop. Between that shock and the black suit, she was almost certain she was caught by someone other than Spider-Man. But she found herself on top of him sooner than she had expected. “How did you…” She cut off by the sound of gunfire which pulled both of them to their feet and off into action.

She’d have to ask him about it later but that seemed quicker than before and she wasn’t going slower. Huh… she mentally shrugged to herself as they landed on the rooftop near the scene. Men were inside of a grocery store holding it up, the police had not arrived yet which means they probably had just gotten in. “That’s an intense way to grocery shop.” Black Cat said with a chuckle. “I’ll get the hostages, I look forward to hearing your grocery puns.” She said with a chuckle lifting up the mask and blowing him a kiss before walking backwards off of the building. “I love you and I’ll see you inside.” With that she fell backwards and went around the building to the back.

It didn’t talk long for Black Cat to get inside. The robbers had already cut the power so no alarm system went off. Sneaking silently through the back, she grabbed a piece of cloak from the janitor’s closet and began to mark the path which she wanted the hostages to take to escape. She traced it from the exit door she had propped open slightly to where she walked. Once into the store area, she was able to keep the door open and left the cloak hidden in the back of the store room. She then began to work her way silently through the store, collecting the hidden hostages and getting them out before she went of the group that the men had already found. All the while she was listening for three things; the location of the robbers, the sound of police cars and the witty remarks from her boyfriend she loved so much.

These robbers really weren't he brightest. They didn't realize that the hostages were slowly depleting, that Spider-Man was slowly picking a few of them off one by one, and that grocery stores really weren't the best places to get money... The group of robbers were slowly taking money from the registers, and Spider-Man watched from on top of a shelf aisle, his arms crossed. "You know..." Spider-Man said loudly, making the robbers jump.

"I was really hoping that this was a false alarm. One because I really really really don't like store robbers. Two because I didn't think anyone was dumb enough to steal from a grocery store, and three because I have been waiting for a day to use food puns on some bad guys for a very long time..." He said before rolling off the shelf to avoid gun shots. "I mean, I should be more grateful, you guys could have been..." A box of cereal hit a man in the face at a very fast force. "Cereal Killers! eh? eh? nonono wait, I got better ones!" Peter said excitedly, jumping up and kicking a man back in to another robber as he disappeared in the aisles, which made the robbers very uneasy.

"I know my yolks" A few egg cartons flew at the robbers. "Can be breadful" Loafs of bread were next. "At times, but they are butter than nothing!" And then sticks of butter. They were covered in so many grocery items, and so was the floor, that they had difficulty seeing and walking. Peter was having a laughing fit at his horrible jokes, but that was before his Spider-Senses went off. He quickly moved his head away, spinning and shooting his webs backwards, and yanking another robber towards him. He stopped him by grabbing his hand, his head tilting a bit as he examined him. The voices in his head suddenly got louder.

"You know... I really don't like robbers..." Peter said quietly, and with a flick of his hand, the robber's hand made a gruesome crunching noise, his mind started cackling, the robber screamed in pain, and Peter was expressionless for a few seconds before he realized how bad he hurt the man. he let go of his hand, and backed up a bit, looking at the other robbers still searching for him. Time to see what the suit can do with fighting...

---

Peter was much stronger. It proved with the amounts of bruises and unconscious men all tied up in web. Luckily he didn't injure someone as badly as the man who got his hand crushed, but it was obvious that this new suit was giving him extraordinary power... except he was the only one who knew that. To Lexi and everyone else, this was just a warmer suit for the winter. He hoped that his mind wouldn't go back to the instance where he hurt that man too far... He also hoped that Lexi wasn't there to see it.

Blackcat moved quietly through the store after marking the line of where to go in the chalk. Everyone she made eye contact with she flagged them to her and pointed to the chalk in her hand then to the ground. It didn’t take long for people to get the people to understand what she meant and soon they were crawling out one by one. The puns her boyfriend was saying were really funny and she did her best not to laugh behind her mask as she guided people out of a traumatic situation; laughing while people are so stressed probably isn’t the best idea.

Working her way through the store, she got most of the people out before her attention turned to see Spider-Man holding someone by their hand. Her smile faded at the pause in Spider-Man’s face but someone drew her attention away from her boyfriend when they whispered to her. She gestured towards the exit in which she came from with the line of chalk and as she did so, a snapping noise echoed and the yell rang through the grocery store. Ignoring it, BlackCat ventured down the alleyways collecting people and getting them out. Something was… off, about the feeling of the building though. It was, hard to put her finger but something wasn’t right.

The situation finally claimed down when Spider-Man got the robbers tied up and she got the rest of the hostages out. And the two superheros took off. First stop, food. Second stop was the top of the Empire State Building. Upon arriving at the building, Lexi landed with a grace and removed her mask before taking a bit of her hot dog with a fierce hunger. Looking over at Peter as he landed, she chewed and swallowed, giving him a closed and full mouthed smile. “So.” She began after finishing her bite. “I have to ask…”

She bit her bottom lip slightly in thought, should she really ask… well she had to know. “When the robbers were getting taken out, I heard some of them screaming about Spider-Man breaking their wrist… what happened?” Her blue eyes glanced up at the black masked face. Sure he looked sleek in the black but she still loved the man underneath more than anything in the world and she didn’t want to think that her boyfriend, her Peter Parker could/would do something like breaking a man’s wrist.
