She took one of the IDs, studying it carefully, and then switching it out for her old fake old. Hey, its not like she could have a real one when she was over three centuries old, right? She dealt with the other fake identification papers, and straightened out her clothes, testing her movement at the same time. She smiled assuredly at him as he warned her to be careful to not stab herself. She was glad to finally have someone who knew all about her, and still worried for her safety.

She went over to the cooler and picked up a bloodpacket, slipping it into her purse. She mentally grimaced at having to waste a hard to get, she was sure, commoditiy on getting this guy off their trail when she needed it more to stay sane and functional. "..I'm going to get hungry after this.." she sighed and left out the door. She glanced around slightly, looking a couple times at the rooms across from theirs, and then headed out.

While she was out, she started going past alleys, looking down each one, before stopping by one next to a bar. She went a ways into it and pulled out her knife, cutting the end of the blood packet and sighing as she let it drip a bit to create a small drip puddle. She looked around for a place to set it.

Connor waited a few moments, watching to see if Marl followed Elizabeth. When he diid, Connor checked he had everything, before following after Marl, following Elizabeth. He kept a good distance away from Marl.

For once, Marl seemed to be intent on following Elizabeth, than in making sure there was no one following him. That wasn't like Marl, to not assume there was a tail on him. This caused Connor to worry. What was going on here? Did Marl know more of what was going on then Connor.

When Elizabeth stopped at an Ally next to a bar, Connor stopped at a side news stand, ducking behind it, so Marl wouldn't see him, and watched Marl walk passed the alleyway, and then back. Connor didn't believe for one second that Elizabeth didn't know Marl was following her.

Marl might think she was a hunter too, and given what she was doing, it was a convincing ploy Connor thought, but Marl seemed troubled as he leaned against a post, his phone out, obviously pretending that he was playing around with it as he watched whatever Elizabeth was doing

Elizabeth went about her job baiting vampires...who knows...maybe she'd catch one hiding in the woodworks of the town.

After shifting things slightly, and placing the bloodpacket in a place where it would continue to drip on its own, she looked like she made a point of wiping what blood there was on the knife on a little bit of her shirt, which was black, sliding the knife in place and shifting her clothes again. She stepped back a few steps, looking things over. But then she took a deep breath and sighed, almost irritatedly- her shoulders sloping downwards at the released of this sigh.

"Old man..." she growled slightly, turning to look at Marl, who she had known had been there. "I can't do my job if you're standing right there."

Yeah, she could talk like this freely..people weren't outside the bar yet- it would be several hours probably until they drank enough to need to clear their heads. Certainly any vampire hiding in there would know that too. For once, although she was hungry, she was glad she wasn't in there to grab her next meal.

Connor watched Marl, unable of course to see through walls and watch Elizabeth. He heard Marl give a grunt, unable to hear what Elizabeth had addressed to him. Connor shifted from the news stand and approached Marl.

"Spying on me, and another hunter?" He asked, slightly surprised as Marl jumped. Connor had never surprised Marl before. "Becky has been helping me. Now, what's going on? You would have seen me following you, just as Becky knew you were following her. So what is going on?"

Connor dreaded the answer even as he asked the question, looking to Elizabeth briefly, before returning his gaze to Marl. Marl gave a sigh, and seemed to hesitate. "You're onto something with those files of yours, Connor. We should return to the inn"

Connor looked to Elizabeth, but knew she could handle herself. "See you later" He called to her, starting back towards the inn, making sure Marl was following, and leaving Elizabeth alone. He knew one little slip up could unravel their deception.

Connor opened the inn door, and shut it again after Marl entered. He sighed and sat down on the bed, looking to Marl. "You think what I think. The bitten humans will be massed turned to create an army. .And that's why you are worried that I was turned"

Connor was annoyed at that, and he rose to approach Marl. "I will tell you something. I'm Stronger than you think" Stronger then I thought, at least He remembered that brief moment when he could have bitten down and tasted Elizabeth's blood, and he hadn't. "I know the risks of hunting vampires, I know how to look after myself, and I have El-Becky to help. Now, what I need from you is a why a dead werewolf just disappeared? ?Something big is happening Marl, and you are wasting your time hunting me down. You should just trust me, like I have you. Like I did the moment you shoved dead man's blood down my throat. I could have called he police, say some crazy had just tried to kill me, but I didn't. So trust me"

He stared at Marl, refusing to look away. When Marl didn't answer, Connor threw his arms up in frustration. "You aren't the man I thought you were. Get out" He opened the door to the room, and stayed silent against Marl's protests, slamming the door shut when he left the room.

Connor let out an exasperated sigh, and dropped down onto his bed, dropping his head into his hands.

Her hunting went well. No vampires but a sleasy drunk did manage to screw himself over by being overly audacious with his flirting. of course she couldn't kill him because that would leave a body...so she erased his memory and messed with the injury so it didn't look obvious. The usual business. She sighed as she wiped away the blood from her face and neck with a wet towelette and tossed it away. She hadn't felt good about letting that man go, and for more than her usual reasons.

What Connor had said about vampires biting humans and not completing the turning was bothering her. She thought it was obvious...but maybe he wasn't lying about it having something to do with the increase in activity. She paused just as she reached the door to their room.

Unturned humans...increase in vampires...

She slammed open the door and looked for Connor, shutting the door behind her once she spotted him. She shut the door quietly behind her, keeping in mind they probably weren't the only ones staying at the inn. "Where's Marl?" she asked quietly.

Connor was still sitting on the bed, but had moved to simply staring at the wall, sighing to himself, and simply trying to keep his thoughts in check, and not think about Marl, knowing he would chase after his mentor if he let himself dwell on what he had said and done, so it was that he very nearly fell off the bed when Elizabeth slammed the door open.

He was reaching for his gun when he saw that it was just Elizabeth. He let out a soft sigh, and debated about answering her, shrugging. "I don't know. I kicked him out" He said, trying to keep his tone even and betraying nothing of what he was feeling.

"And at the moment I don't care where he is" It was a spiteful, bitter thing to say and Connor knew it ever as he said it. He sighed and flopped back on the bed. "that's not true" He said softly, looking up at the ceiling, and for one brief moment he was the boy he'd been when he had first met Marl thinking he was invincible, when really he was just a stupid kid that was afraid, and Marl had taken him in, had shown him how to survive now that he had been touched by the supernatural.

"I wish I knew so I could say sorry, but I doubt he'd talk to me"

She inwardly flinched when Connor said he kicked marl out and didn't care where he was, but was glad when he retracted that statement. Figuring that the transition in his life, mostly with her and his mentor, was a confusing one for him.

"I see." she said quietly, "Well...I'm a hunter now...and when I come back, I want to be set up as one. You'll show me the internet, the google, and the email."
It was stern, but not too demanding. "I figure I'll have no place to go once I'm human again...and I'll be able to protect my new life better if I learn your skill set sooner."

This time it was quieter. She let it sink in before turning the knob, "Oh, and don't forget to tell me all about the vampire army or Armageddon thing too."

She exiting, making sure he didn't follow her. She then took a deep breath, calming herself down and knocking on Marl's door. And so, she knocked at the entrance to the lion's den.

Connor sat up slowly, watching her leave, and he ended up smile slightly. That was, perhaps, the first time Elizabeth had essentially said they were going to succeed. Once I'm human again

He rose to let her do whatever she was going to do, knowing it was night. He grabbed his laptop, setting it up in a way he thought he could teach her easily enough, and then returned to the bed, taking out a book and reading, whittling away the time.

Marl was indeed in his room, thumping around in anger, packing up his stuff, muttering to himself about ungrateful children and the unfairness of it all, looking up at the knock on the door. He went over and pulled the door open hard, expecting it to be Connor.

He blinked when he saw Elizabeth, or as he knew her as, Becky, although he was positive it was a fake name. "What do you want?" he said gruffly, clearly not trying to hide his anger and his disapproval.

Although most people might be intimidated by his actions and gruff voice, it almost reminded her of her father...so instead of shying away, she found herself standing up straighter and putting on a cool air with a bit of gentle concern. "I think we should talk,"she started "I'm not sure exactly what the conversation was...but as you can see by me standing in front of you...there are some things you've missed out on...and I would think it entirely unfair to both of you, if you should leave thinking and feeling as you are now."

She dropped a bit of the coolness, remembering that this wasn't her father, and this wasn't expected behavior anymore. She sighed a bit sadly, "May I come in?"

Marl growled and leaned against the door frame, "Connor may trust you, but I don't" he said, clearly not going to let her in. "You're wasting your time, Becky. I won't go crawling over to him and make up" He said, in a tone that said to drop it.

he noticed her attitude towards him, and found that it was slightly odd, as if he was someone who deserved coolness towards him. He sighed, and stepped aside, letting her in. Marl might be a grumpy old man, but he was gentlemanly and gentle at times.

"You're just a passerbyer in all this, I'm sure. You don't know everything" He said, and managed to calm his tone. If wasn't her fault, he thought that Connor was being an ungrateful child. The thing was, Marl's only family was Connor, even if they weren't blood related. "Even if you are a hunter, which I highly doubt"

She might have left if he had kept it up, but she found herself quite glad to see that he too could be a gentle man. "Thank you" she said quietly as she slipped past him, silently making sure she didn't bump into him. She looked around a bit before finding a place to settle. 'I'm not even sure where i am in all this, to be truthful."

She dusted off herself and smiled softly at him. "I'm sure I don't pass as a hunter compared to someone who's been in the field as long as you have...but I am one now, because I need to be one." She shrugged slightly at that point before continuing, "I had nowhere to go or anything to do with my life before I met Connor... And yeah, I don't know everything about him or anything else for that matter...but I know what he does is dangerous...I know that I'll die if I don't keep my eyes open and a gun cocked....and I know that I no longer want to die. " She smiled somewhat sadly, fidgeting slightly with her hands, "and i think Connor is thinking that way too..." she looked up at him then, "He told me about how he thought he should have died four years ago."

Marl sighed, sitting down at the small table that was in the room. "No, you don't pass of as a hunter, yet you seem to know what you are doing, so either you know of the trade, or you'know whats out there and how to deal with them. You don't have the actions of a hunter" Marl said, leaning across the table, he watched her.

He took off his cap, laying it on the table, looking at it. "Connor...Connor's one of a kind. I assume you know now why I've been paranoid with him about blood. Connor should have died four years ago. The dead man's blood was a desperate move by a desperate man to try and save an innocent. I'd read, come across dead mans blood, and had some on me. So I tried. Its the same reason why Connor didn't kill that werewolf girl he couldn't save-Whose fine by the way if he asks. You blame yourself"

He fell silent for a few moments. "Connor's unique. I don't think the dead man's blood would have worked if he didn't have the nature that he does, or the conviction to do things right..."

he trailed off, but there was a hint of pride there, a slightly, almost unnoticeable smile, and then he looked back up at Elizabeth. "You aren't human"

She was listening intently, glad to see the softer side of the man. She didn't mind that he said she wasn't a hunter, she figured she'd learn how to be one eventually anyways.
She was smacked pretty hard by reality though, as he went from being a proud father like figure to stating quite frankly that she wasn't human. She inhaled quickly, feeling herself tensing...but as she looked at him, she found herself exhaling softly and relaxing..still holding that faint, sad smile. "Not in body, I'm afraid...I was going to continue the facade until I didn't need to anymore..."

She slipped off her jacket, pulling out the stakes, knife, and gun.
"...but you're precious to Connor, and you've surprised me with your determination and stubbornness...so you have the right to be told. i-" she broke off, feeling a swelling of emotion, "I would ask that you don't slay me, though..."

She set the safety on the gun and set it onto her jacket. "I will tell you what he will not."

Marl watched her take out her weapons, watched her warily, but not once did he go for his own weapons, which he had stashed nearby. He let out a heavy sigh. "Connor obviously think that you are worth something, or he wouldn't have let you live" But he did stand, simply so he could use his height to tower over her.

"You hurt him, and I will kill you"" he said, going over to the kettle and making a coffee for himself, neglecting to offer Elizabeth one. He leaned against the counter, watching her. Studying. It was clear from the way she acted, the way she moved, and did things. "Vampire. Your blood packet then in the last inn. An old one too, if you can resist human blood. Clever ploy by the way. Do not ever let him drink your blood"

He sighed, because it was against his every nature to let her live, but..."I know what Connor is thinking, why you have been traveling with him. The medallion of course. I told him of that. What will you tell me that he won't?"

She was so glad that he didn't seem to be so willing to kill her, that she didn't really flinch when he threatened to kill her...well, Connor had too at first. She even grinned as he started pinpointing things about her and complemented their tactics. "Thank you, sir."

And with that, she stopped pretend breathing while she listened to him continue on, nodding slightly as he mentioned the medallion. "That he has no idea how kind of a man you really are...that he doesn't trust you enough to tell you when he's deviating from what he thinks your expectations are.." she was sad a bit at that,

"That I'm a vampire, of course.." she paused, "That he was attacked by a large group of vampires right before we skidaddled...that I'm the one you might call '2bit' and that my latest activity was a ploy to concentrate the attentions of a bunch of hunters to that city...that he doesn't want to be a lone hunter anymore...that he is confused and caught between you and I as he's going through the process of becoming a man, and not just a college kid who fights monsters in the night....that he's sorry for his outburst...and that..." and she winces at this, afraid of his reaction to it, "..he's in love.."

Marl poured his coffee as Elizabeth spoke, taking a sip of it as she talked, listening and contemplating what she was saying, right up until she said the last part.

"He's in love"

As soon as she said that, the mug slipped through his fingers, shattering when it landed on the ground and spilling the hot contents on the ground. He was thankful for his boots, which protected his feet from the scolding liquid. His face was probably comical, his expression completely shocked and his mouth was in a perfect O of surprise.

His hands curled into fists as he stared at her, clearly thinking this had to be some sort of joke. "In love? Hell, does he know? My god", He ran his hair through his thinning hair, and shoved his cap back on, and marched out the room, muttering that the boy had gone too far this time.

Only when he knocked on the door, and Connor answer, he could see the utter relief on his face, and Connor virtually tackled him into a hug so that they both nearly fell to the ground.

No matter how much of an idiot Connor could be, Marl would also care for him, like a son. Connor looked up at Marl, almost like a kid. "I'm sorry" He said softly, but Marl just shrugged, "its okay, son" He said

She quickly stood up, all seriousness on her face when he dropped his cup and stared at her. The next thing she knew he was throwing on his hat and marching off to the room, she followed, offering protests that most likely went unheard. She stopped walking when he stopped to knock on the door- and a spread of relief, gladness, and love came over her.

"But I doubt he will outgrow you." She said gently as she walked up to his side, giving him a sidelook and a smile, "by the way, Marl, I am also in love."

Then she made a show of clearing her throat, "I've dealt with the matter Connor, now, let's get to business. What have you got for me?"

Yes, they needed to get her all caught up now that she's determined that she will become a hunter and join their ranks - despite whatever her body may be.
She had to admit though, the two hardcore hunters were really cute as a father son combination. It warmed her as of yet still unbeating heart, and she idly wondered what Connor would be like once Marl died.

Connor looked up at Elizabeth's voice, relief flowing over him when he saw her. He hadn't been sure that Marl would let Elizabeth go. But Marl had stiffened when Elizabeth spoke to him.

Connor hesitated, unsure what had gone on. He stepped back, heading inside the room. "Um, well, working the computer is really easy, once you get the basis. The internet is the gateway to the world, really. Although books are better for searching old theories and such on supernatural beings. Email's great for talking to people, like snail mail. But faster, instant"

He'd moved to the table where his aptop was set up, along with a note book he had been writing notes on. "You should earn it faster then Marl, at least. You already now how to use a mobile phone, after all" He shot Marl a smile, "He still thinks you need to change the typewriter cartridge when typing on the laptop" He looked over to Elizabeth, still wondering what she had said to Marl but decided not ot push it while things seemed to be well.

Elizabeth ignored the stiffening of Marl, but noted it for later. She was glad to have stopped the irepairable split of the two, but she sensed that she would need to clear the air and set a new order of how things would work...that and some other thoughts were brewing in her mind.

Silently, she ushered Marl in and closed the door behind her.

She listened intently to what Connor was saying, looking mildly confused between him and Marl when he said that Marl treated modern typing as if he still needed a typewriter cartridge. "but...typewriters haven't been in use for a while now..." she said as she walked over to his laptop, setting her laptop next to him. She studied his notes and somewhat clumsily worked through them in an attempt to understand it all. She went through it on both computers, in order to learn it faster. When she got to the section about Google, she typed in vampire, and then switched to images. She smiled a bit to herself in a victorious manner.

But then she got more serious, it being obvious through her tone.

"I told Marl about some things..." she started, still focussed on her work," I didn't have to tell him what I was...apparently in three hundred years I lost my human movement without realizing it...or something like that. He says that he knows that you're after the medallion, what your thinking, and why I'm tagging along...but...I don't think he actually understands the full implications." She turned towards them then, looking at Marl. "Obviously, Connor is taking me along to get the medallion because he's a good man who likes and trusts my character and wants to turn me back...but the fact that I'm going along willingly means that I want to become human."

She takes a couple steps towards them then, "it means that I prefer being human to being a vampire. That I am not some self obsessed, power hungry blood sucker that gives humans a reason to defend themselves through use of hunters...it means that, even though I have attacked and even killed people in my time...I am still, technically, an innocent....So while I understand and even respect your need to threaten me with death, I'm going to ask that you treat me as a human with a dreadful affliction..rather than a monster....because I am seeking to be cured. And that's what matters between us, isn't it?"

Connor watched Elizabeth work, "Libraries and notepads served for Marl before he trained me" Connor said, and Marl scoffed, "Only because you're too lazy to do the leg work" Connor poked his tongue out at him, "You're scared technology will revolt and rise against us!" He laughed, turning back to Elizabeth, watching what she was doing, correcting her if he needed to, but mostly, he let her do it herself.

He looked up when she started to speak, listening, "Its easy to see, once you know what to look for. You're more...graceful and smooth then humans" Connor said, addressing her first issue. Although, all he had to do really was be near someone supernatural to sense they were there, then falling silent while she continued speaking, looking to Marl, but he couldn't help the little joke as he said, "Well, your medicines in the fridge and you know how to heat it up now"

Marl reached over and whacked him over the head, causing Connor to rub the back of his head vigorously, but it served its purpose as Connor fell silent. Marl sighed, "The thing is, there's a lot of vampires hunting for the medallion. I'm sure they seek to be cured too" There was no doubting the doubt in Marl's voice, and Connor couldn't help it. He spoke up.

"I found Elizabeth working in the homeless shelter. I found her talking to a nun. She has more faith in god then I do" Which wasn't hard, considering. "I've never doubt Elizabeth since working with her, and she helped me trap the ghost that's been haunting my place. She rode Bessie. She helped me kill a werewolf on the false moon. She's mostly been living on the blood packets I've been getting her. I don't know what changed, but I'm glad she's here"

He would not mention his little slip ups. That would just give cause for Marl to doubt everything. Marl sighed, "Many have tried to find it, and there's probably several out there still doing so. Its dangerous Connor"
