Elizabeth didn't know what she had been expecting. Although she appreciated Connor speaking up for her, she found that marl was never going to accept her. She turned to her laptop, growling slightly under her breath "I'll show you my convictions, old man.."

And she did her work, even setting up an email. When she was done with that, she stood straight up suddenly, unable to ignore the thoughts and feelings that were welling inside her and tightening her chest again. Why did that keep happening? She didn't care, she needed to get away.

Walking briskly past them, in concentrated silence, she walked straight into Marl's room (because they both forgot to shut his door XP), grabbed her jacket and walked off. Part of her told her that they were likely to follow her. Clenching her teeth, she sped up to a blur suddenly once she hit the streets and was sure no one (that wasn't Connor and Marl) was watching. She ran until she hit a bunch of trees...the woods felt appropriately secluded.

Connor watched, now unable to think of anything to say, and flinched when she stood up suddenly, watching as she walked out. He grabbed Marl's arm when he went to follow after her. "You following after her will just make things worse. Leave her be" He said softly.

When Marl turned to him, he regretted speaking up. He didn't like the look on Marl's face, almost pure venom. "She said you are in love" Connor stared at him in shock, shaking his head quickly.

"No, I'm not-" Connor said, but even that sounded like a lie to him. He turned away from Marl, going to shut his laptop down, pondering what to say. "yes, okay? I'm in love with a vampire, you happy you old geezer? It doesn't mean I'm thirsting for undead blood or nothing. It simply means I love her and that's that" he said, "And now I have to go make sure she's okay, since its nearly morning" he said, shrugging on his jacket, shoving his gun in the waistband of his jeans, and headed out to try and track Elizabeth down, hesitating before leaving and grabbing her pills and sunscreen, just in case.

Tracking her down wouldn't be that difficult, seeing as she punched several trees on the way in, it looked like a bull had passed through.

Once she had reached inside the forest, she continued punching trees, making a younger one actually fall to the ground, half broken off. Her hand was pretty cut up, but she didn't seem to notice. She eventually screamed in pain and fell to her knees...but she wasn't in any physical pain.

Thoughts and memories started to plague her. Her father's disapproval, her homeschooling and wanting to be free, being turned, being burned by sunlight for the first time, the feelings of rejection from god, all the hunters who had come after her in her years of running...and slowly her mind created some skewed image where her father was the hunter coming after her. She curled up into a ball, not noticing that little streams of blood were falling from her eyes in stead of tears. "I'm not human anymore?" she asked, as if it was the first time she had been told...her mind was shifting and reverting on her..and she felt her horror come back anew.

"God help me."

Connor followed the trail of punched trees, knowing really only a supernatural being could do. He went slowly, not wanting to seem like he was sneaking up, yet when he heard her scream out, Connor moved faster through the trees.

He found her, just as she said "God help me"

He moved passed the fallen over tree, towards her, "Apparently God's in a meeting, so he sent me instead" He said softly, kneeling down in front of her, he used his handkerchief to wipe away her tears, and went to work on her hand, touching softly and looking for splinters, trying to ignore the blood. Even if he was fascinated with her blood, he was more concerned with the injury itself.

He used water to clean her hand, and then shrugged out of his shirt, putting his jacket back on and zipping it up, he tore his shirt into strips, bandaging her hand gently. "You know, you shouldn't punch objects that can hurt you" He said softly, looking up. He was shaking slightly, but didn't seem to notice.

She stirred very little when she heard footsteps, and was going to warn the person away but stopped when he spoke. She looked at him with a mild confusion, and inability to recognize him. She also let him tend to her, barely noticing that he had wiped blood from her face, and she sat silent through the small pains of him cleaning her hand.

When he was done and looked up, she quietly looked back at him, feeling his benevolence and caring. Alost blankly, bbut in a gesture of returning his care, he held his shaking hand.

"Did God really send you?" she asked, back in her old, thick accent.

Connor frowned at her, shaking his head, "No, Elizabeth. I followed you. It wasn't hard, with the trail of holes in the trees" He said with worry in his tone. he studied her. knowing that something had happened, but not sure what. It was clear nothing physical had happened, So something else had happened.

"If god sent me, he has a ironic sense of humor" He said, watching her, confused. It was almost like she didn't recognise him. With her accent..."Elizabeth?" He asked sofly, "What's wrong?" He asked, almost afraid of the answer.

He knew Marl hadn't followed him, so therefore he could speak quite freely with Elizabeth, but this was just strange. He didn't know what to do, or say, how to act, or even what was up.

She looked down at her bandaged hand, and then at the trees around her. It was true, they appeared to sustain quite some damage. Pits, and holes, and...oh my, that one is just plain broken. Did she do that? She supposed it was possible, she wasn't human anymore. It would certainly explain why her hand was suddenly injured and bleeding. but...she didn't recall being in the woods before...

Slowly, her gaze traveled back to the strange but kind man who already knew her name. He asked what was wrong and she could not help but look away in shame. "What's wrong...? I'm not human anymore..." she answered quietly, almost a whisper. "I should have listened to Father."

If she had only listened to him...she would not have been taken in by the charm of the strange but handsome man..and she would not hav shamed herself and her family by becoming inhuman...could she return to face them? Where was her house even, from here?

Connor groaned inwardly. What had happened to make her regress? Was it learning how to work the computer? He bit his lip, trying to figure out what to say, or do. "I know you're not human anymore Elizabeth, and you haven't been for at least 300 years, or so you told me." He said

had she forgotten everything? it seemed so. What could he do? "But we've been trying to find the medallion to change you back, remember?" He said, and for the first time in years, he sent a silent pray to god, although it was more of a curse to him You can't do this to me, you can't, not after everything, you can't take her from me, I won't let you.

But what could he do? What could he do, to bring her back? He wasn't sure what was going on, what had brought this on? And how could he fix it? He stared at her, and he felt lost, wondering how 300 years could just be gone.

They'd been together, what, a week? But there was no way he could go back to how he was before, not now. "Elizabeth" He said as a soft whisper, "I..." And then he just gave up on words, and moved to kiss her, glad he had wiped away the bloody tears. He kissed her softy, searchingly.

What he was saying wasn't making much sense to her, and she didn't have much time to think it over when he started moving in on her. She knew right away why he was doing so, and stiffened. Once they connected though, she felt a warmth in her and she relaxed, gently returning the kiss...and then more...and the more. Luckily she hadn't gotten too wild with it when she seperated, but it did give her time (and incentive) to contemplate and mildly accept what he had said before.

"That is a very nice kiss, sir...Most different than I was expecting...now, could you help a lady up? I no longer want to wallow on the cold, hard ground."

She more firmly held onto his hand now, prepared to be lifted to her feet. "And I want to see what is around in 300 years.."

Yeah, her accent was still there, and she still held no memory of anything...but that kiss had definitely been Elizabeth.

Connor gave a soft sigh, but he rose, giving her his hand to help her up. Somehow, he didn't think it would have been that simple. Yet she had kissed him back, had almost like the previous times. So it gave him hope that he could bring her back.

IF only he knew what had brought this on. He gave a sigh, and once she was up, he led the way back out the trees. It wasn't that hard, following the injured trees. He looked to Elizabeth, worried, and saddened.

Was he going to have to tell her everything that had happened these last 3 centuries, as well as the last few days? And how technology worked again? That is, if she wanted to be around him. After all, she wasn't exactly clear on tings, if she had no memory. That saddened him, and he had to look away, looking aread, and keeping his eyes averted, so she wouldn't see them full of unshed tears.

He swallowed and led the way back to the road, looking to make sure no cars were coming.

No, it was just getting light. No cars were coming or going anywhere in this town. When she figured it was safe, she stepped onto the road, noting how solid it was copared to th coddle stone she was used to. She also looked at the lights that were still on but -most notable to her, were the cars parked in front of the hotle. "Wow...what are those things? I see no stables, would they be transportation? How would they run?"

yeah...note to Connor...not even steam power was available 300 years ago.

She blinked as she looked at him, immediately putting an end to her questions. "maybe it would be best if i asked about us." she said, looking down shyly. "How long have you known me? And how long did you want to kiss me, or have been?"

Connor looked towards the cars, wondering how to explain them. "Um. They're cars. We use oil to make it go and...I'm really not adapt to describe the combustion engine." He said in a soft, almost amused tone "They're been around about 100 years I think" He said, "Although I do have a horse back home" he seemed saddened at that, thinking of Bessie. He hoped she was alright, that she was being treated well.

Connor looked to her, and smiled a small smile. "Um. About a week we met. Actually, you kissed me first, by the lake" He said with a small laugh, "And then I kissed you" He added, starting back to the inn, figuring that was the best place right now.

He took out the pills taking one out the body, "Here, unless you want to be burned by the sun, take this. You swallow it. It stops the sun burning you, but you might want the sunscreen too. I think its just another barrier against the sun" He said, holding it out for her to take.

She silently took the pill, swallowing it quickly before starting to slowly rub on the sunscreen. What ever works, she thought as she followed him.

"A kiss by the lake. It sounds most romantic...you must have made some sort of impression on me, but you do seem quite gentlemanly, so that could be a good portion of it.'"

She daydreamed most girlishly about a sunset on the horizon of a lake and the slow leaning in for a kiss. yes, that sounded like her if she knew herself at all. But three hundred years, she wondered how she would have changed during that tie..and how such a world that had these strange vehicles of metal that ran on oil like a lamp had changed. At the very least, they still had proper settings for good old fashioned romanticism.

Connor shot her a smile, "I still don't know why you kissed me, and now I guess I never will" he said softly, looking ahead as he led them to the inn, going to their room. "But I'm glad you did. Even if you can't remember it. I think I'd do anything g for you Elizabeth" he decided not to mention that he already had, really. He pushed that thought away, not wanting to remember the man...

He let out a sigh, "I've been helping you try to find a medallion, to cure the vampirism" he said as he unlocked the door, glancing over at Marls room, but he saw the lights were off. Which didn't mean anything. He could still be in their room. He opened the door, looking in, doin a quick check to make sure there was no other supernatural being waiting for them, and saw the light was still on.

Which meant Marl was still there, and sure enough he found him using the laptop, painfully slow as was his habit, and Connor recognised his files. Connor sighed, waiting for Elizabeth to enter before shutting the door

She smiled slightly, still enjoying the romanticism as he explained further about their odd, week long relationship. She looked down shyly again as he said he'd do anything for her, "Oh, stop." she giggled. After that though, it seemed to be more about her lack of humanity and that they were looking to cure it. She was beyond glad to hear this, though she was distracted a bit by how much he looked around, as if something was going to jump out...well she supposed something could...something that wasn't human..

She quietly followed him and walked past him into the room, where upon she saw Marl and her eyes flew wide open, her body stiffening. "Father?" she asked quietly, disbelieving. "but..but...how?"

She shook head a bit and took a few steps back, grimacing slightly, as if taken with a sudden bad headache.

Marl looked to Connor, clearly wondering if this was a practical joke or something. Connor shrugged, and held up his hands. Marl looked to Elizabeth, and Connor saw he was trying to figure out what was going on. "Uh, no. I'm not your father, for one, I'd have to be like 350 years old, and considering I was born in this century that's a bit of a stretch" he said. "And I'm pretty sure I have no biological kids out there"

Connor sat down, deciding not to intervene here. But then he couldn't himself and he said "who knows? Maybes she's like a great great however many times great aunt or something" he said with a small laugh, "maybe that's why you've been in the hunting business in your family for generations!" Connor said, in all seriousness.

Marl glared at him, but Connor just smiled back at him, running a hand through his hair.

Her headache seemed to persist, even as Marl explained that he was not, in fact, her father. It got so bad for her that she had to find a place to sit down and hold her head.

When Connor started joking about her being part of Marl's family, though, she laughed a bit through the pain. "I wouldn't think it good to joke about his family..." she peeked at him through her fingers, smiling a it. "Considering that it might be true."

She looked back at marl though, and she returned to silence, obviously still in headache based pain.

Connor grinned at her, "It could very well be true" he agreed, looking to Marl, "Just think about Marl, related to a vampire! isn't that just a great kick of irony?" Marl growled at him, and flung a pen at him. Connor moved out the way, and laughed. He looked to Elizabeth, standing up to go over to her, seeing that she was in pain.

he had nothing he could offer her, given that most medications didn't work on vampires, so he went to the fridge, taking out a packet of blood, and heating it up in the microwave in a coffee mug, glancing to Marl, but Marl wasn't watching him, looking to Elizabeth still. So Connor went about what he was doing, taking out the heated cup of blood.

He went over to Elizabeth, giving it to her, he said, "That should help, hopefully" he gave her a smile, and squeeze her hand. He then went over to Marl, "Don't worry Marl, it will all be okay"

Elizabeth looked at him as he came to her the first time and then watched him all the way until he handed her a cup. She blinked and took it, holding the cup of warm blood between her hands on her her lap. She sniffed it slightly, out of curiosity. "So this is...blood...in a cup..." she stated quietly, seeming hesitant as she sniffed the air above it again.
It smelled good, but she chalked that up to being a vampire. Using that logic, it should taste good too...but she didn't move from staring it down, swallowing nervously as she felt a thirst grow in her, and her teeth lengthening on their own.

"Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life, and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh..." she recited to herself, under her breath.

"...I'm sure it tastes good.." she said quietly, though loud enough so as to make sure they could hear her. She swallowed again,"...to my kind..."

She looked at Connor, avoiding Marl's gaze, still feeling as if it was that of her father. She looks a bit sad and the smallest hint of desperation. Her hands tightened around the cup, "but I do not wish to take pleasure in it."

Connor gave a heavy sigh. watching her, "Well, this life force was donated, just a pint, not enough to kill someone, so don't worry about that" He said, "Its to keep you alive, Elizabeth, and..." He sighed, looking away.

"Well, I may as well say what the boy won't. And to prevent you from going about on a killing spree" Marl said gruffly. "Given the fact that the kid loves you, I'd hate to have to kill you, since he'd never forgive me for it"

This time it was Connor whacking Marl over the head. "You have absolutely no class Marl" Connor said with an exasperated tone. He sighed, and rubbed the back of his neck, unsure what to say. He was blushing, but that was the least of it.

"its only until we can find the medallion, Elizabeth" he said, looking to her, almost desperate for her to understand, for her to just drink the blood.
