Elizabeth didn't know what she had been expecting. Although she appreciated Connor speaking up for her, she found that marl was never going to accept her. She turned to her laptop, growling slightly under her breath "I'll show you my convictions, old man.."
And she did her work, even setting up an email. When she was done with that, she stood straight up suddenly, unable to ignore the thoughts and feelings that were welling inside her and tightening her chest again. Why did that keep happening? She didn't care, she needed to get away.
Walking briskly past them, in concentrated silence, she walked straight into Marl's room (because they both forgot to shut his door XP), grabbed her jacket and walked off. Part of her told her that they were likely to follow her. Clenching her teeth, she sped up to a blur suddenly once she hit the streets and was sure no one (that wasn't Connor and Marl) was watching. She ran until she hit a bunch of trees...the woods felt appropriately secluded.
