Connor calmed Bessie as best he could giving her an apple, and a quick brush down. "its alright girl" He turned to watch Elizabeth interact with the ghost. He watched curiously, frowning slightly. "You're wasting your time" He said softly, moving towards them

The ghost gave a growling sound, watching Elizabeth, and Connor stopped where he was. The ghost hovered where it was, unable to move from the circle.

It eyes flickered between Connor and Elizabeth, before settling on Elizabeth again.

It made a rattling sound, opening its mouth to speak. "My....name is.....Jacob" It suddenly tried to get past the circle, but the circle held and Connor let out a relieved breath. Soon, he knew, it would be a true poltergeist and then he'd have to figure out just how to get rid of it.

Elizabeth glanced behind her as Connor came up. For the most part, she ignored his comment. To her, it was a matter of tact. he has said earlier that it was starting to change into a poltregheist...but that meant that he was still a kid...somewhere in there.

She looked up at the sky, then sun had just gone down a bit ago. "I have plenty of time." she quietly stated to herself.

When the boy answered, she smiled again. There, she had gotten him interested. Now she just needed to play it right.

"You might not want to approach," he told Connor. "I think you've gotten him mad."

She didn't need an upset and distracted ghost child when she was trying to save said ghost child. Looking back at him, she smiled again. "Ok. The game is simple. We ask each other questions and the other has the answer truthfully. First one to run out of questions loses."

Here, it was an interesting balance. Being a vampire she had a lot more 'life' to talk about. There for more opportunites for questions to be asked, but she was banking on the fact that he was a kid...and children don't usually have the patience to think about things like these. Hopefully, this would mean that she wouldn't lose and therefore end the game before she could help him. Then again..she was here for a few more nights. briefly, she wondered if she should extend her stay...but that would depend on Connor...and this boy.

"What is your favorite game?"

Connor sighed, leaning against the stable door. Shaking his head, knowing she was wasting her time. Still, he wasn't going to leave.

The boy seemed confused and then shook his head, becoming restless, and agitated. "no, no, no" He moaned, shaking his head vigorously

Connor was about to step in, and banish the ghost with iron, and the boy shrieked. Connor winced, throwing his hands up over his ears. "Urgh"

The ghost yelled, and soon calmed down. "I don't play games anymore" He said, shaking his head still, "Not for years and years and years" his voice sounded sad, but Connor growled.

"You seem to be fine playing games with peoples stuff" He said bitterly.

The ghost ignored him. "My turn then. You are...not...alive and yet you are?" this seemed to confuse the boy.

Elizabeth was frightened for a nervous for a moment, both frightened and pitying the poor boy.

When Connor came up to finish him, she was gunna protest...but the ghost did it for her. With her sensitive hearing, though, it affected her more than it did for him.
When it was done, she was still wincing from the ringing in her ears.

"Connor, don't do that again. We're busy playing a game."

She returned her attention to the boy, grinning, as he decided to continue. He fangs shown again through the grin, "It's called being un-dead. It is a type of curse..I have to drink living blood so that I can keep my body...but when I don't drink for too long, am burned by the sun, or killed by a hunter...there is no guarantee that I will go to heaven, because of that curse.." she was quiet for a bit, "unlike trapped spirits, like you Jacob."

She sighed, "Are you mad because no one is playing with you, or because you are stuck?"

Connor shook his head, stepping back. Perhaps he'd be able to find the ghosts bones if she kept it talking. He still thought it was foolish. The ghost was clearly deranged, and she might just push him to becoming a poltergeist quicker.

But she had her damn fangs out so he didn't do anything.

"Vampire!" Jacob squealed, and did a loop-de-loop in the circle. "Weee! Blood sucker, blood sucker, blood sucker!" He seemed amused at this, and sat with a foot in his mouth, grinning evilly. "Not stuck, never stuck!" He said, "Wanted this, when...when..." But he trailed off, and shrugged.

Connor shook his head once more, "You're wasting your time" He said again, "You're pushing him to becoming a poltergeist quicker, and when that happens, he has a solid form. He can hurt you, but you won't be able to hurt him"

"Dead, dead, dead, dead" Jacob chanted, "Killed 'em, killed 'em, killed 'em!" He chuckled happily, still chewing on his own foot, which could be seen through his see through head. He grinned, and spat his foot out, cackling

It's too bad she wouldn't be able to keep him talking for long- she became frightened both at what connor said, and the boy's behavior right afterwards. This was going nothing like how she had hoped. Standing up, she looked at connor, not even able to hide the look of worry, as she wondered how just a little talking could have pushed a spirit to change this quickly.

"Jacob, focus on the game. Why would you want this, who was killed?"

Meanwhile she took a few steps back so that she was standing next to Connor and keeping her eyes on the child at the same time. "this was your grandparents' place?" she asked quietly, hoping she remembered correctly, "people tend to talk...what have you heard about the boy?"

This wasn't going to cure Jacob, like she had hoped...but all she could do for now was keep him distracted while she asked. It became clear to her that it was time for the hunter guy to do his job and help Jacob move on to wherever he was meant to go.

Connor watched the ghost as well, never taking his eyes off of him. He shifted so he was in front of Elizabeth, his face was passive, neutral, not showing any ounce of fear or worry. He swallowed as the boy cackled some more, spinning around in the circle.

He sighed, glancing breifly to her, and said softly, "As long as my family has had this farm, the boy has been here. I have done as much research as possible on him, trying to find his bones to burn them, and send him on his way, but I haven't been able to find them" he sighed, "He isn't a boy, despite having the form of one. My conclusion is that he...he...he murdered boys when he was a man. Something happened to him to permentatey make him see himself as a boy"

"Killed 'em, Killed 'em, bang they go down and they don't come up, why don't they come up?" Jacob's tone had changed once more, this time becoming sad. "I just wanted to play"

"he will be a particularly violent poltergeist" Connor sighed.

She become confused and conflicted. On one hand, it would have been easier to find the bones of a boy. One the other, they couldn't be sure if it as Connor said...since he didn't seem to be completely sure about it either. At least, he didn't to her.

Quietly, she watched the boy figure from behind the young hunter. Her hand gently clutched to his shirt out of some old set of instincts, to stick close to the man. mentally, she prayed to the God that she had cause to believe hated her, though she still held the love inside her unbeating heart. With a sense of fear, she watched for a while, taking all of his words into consideration again before forcing herself to keep going even though part of her screamed to her that she should just shut up and get back inside the house.

"Jacob...where's your bones? We can help you find more people to play with."

"Bones, bones, bones!" Jacob cackled. Connor flinched as the ghost pressed against the circle, nearly breaking through.

"bones gone! Bones gone! no bones, no bones for years and years and years! Need new bones, your bones, your bones will be wonderful! Then I can play, play, play some more!"

Connor pushed Elizabeth back, "Ghost possession is not fun" He said

"Play, play, play!" Jacob pressed against the circle, kicking and hitting the edge. "Play good with you!"

"that's right" Connor said, "We can play, we can play real good" He said, he reached for the salt and iron, putting some more around the circle, "Lets sing" He suggested, "Ring around the rosie, a pocket full of posies, a tissue, a tissue, we all fall down..."

Jacob spun around the circle, then fell down. He seemed to calm. And Connor thought, great, I'll be singing lullabies for the rest of the night. He glanced to Elizabeth.

"know any lullabies? If so, please, take over. I have an idea" He said

Behind him, Elizabeth flinched more than Connor had. At this point now, she was going to stop talking to the boy-ghost man. It hadn't really gotten her anywhere except being threatened with possession, which she decidedly was against. She tensed more and more and almost outright protested when he stepped away from her to reinforce the barrier, but it was a heck of a lot better than running the risk of the circle being broken and having her body snatched from her.

However it seemed that connor had taken control of the situation when he started singing, surpising Elizabeth when the ghost went along with the song. Looking over at him as he asked for a lullabye, her mind went over many examples, being old and all she knew plenty. After a period of arguing with herself, she decided she couldn't waste anymore time out of fear of the ghost acting up again.

"...A gentle breeze from Hushabye Mountain
Softly blows o'er Lullaby Bay
It Fills the sails of boats that are waiting
Waiting to sail your worries away

It isn't far to Hushabye Mountain
And your boat waits down by the quay
The winds of night so softly are sighing
Soon they will fly your troubles to the sea..."

Connor gave her a reassuring smile, and with Jacob distracted by her singing, he snuck out the stable. He ran across the field, towards the house, going straight for his book shelf, and beginning to flip quickly through books.

He tried to be as fast as he could, looking for an entry he had come across ages ago, It took him longer than he wanted, and worried about Elizabeth, he ripped the page out of the book, and ran back across the ground, to the stable. Bessie was shaking in her stall, whining and shifting nervously.

Connor moved to Elizabeth, Jacob was somewhat calmed, listening as she sang.

Connor began to receite the Latin from the page, the ritual that would hopefully bind Jacob to an object, in this case a horse shoe that he dropped in the circle, snatching his arm back quickly. With that, he could bury it in the dirt, and trapped the ghost there.

He read the latin flawlessly, and when it was finished, Jacob was still agitated, but as Connor broke the circle, he couldn't move from the horse shoe.

Somehow, Connor's smile wasn't really all that assuring...but the fact that her singing lullabies seems to have a more soothing effect than talking was became her assurance. She remained calm-ish and safe for the entire time Connor was away, and probably could have kept going for as long as he needed. Regardless of how long she could have kept it going though, he did return. Elizabeth kept singing even as he starting to speak hi latin...fading away a bit as he finished his spell and trapped Jacob in that spot.

She smiled a little at the young hunter, impressed by his latin skills, but not really coming out right to say it.
'So..you've trapped the ghost.." she said quietly, looking over at agitated Jacob, "What do you plan now?"

"Aye, I trapped a damn ghost. I was only like, 30 percent sure that would work" He said, folding the page over, and shoving it in his pocket. "As for what I plan to do with him now, I'll bury the horseshoe in the basement, and he can just stay there for all eternity, or until his bones are found" He said, grabbing tongs used to hold hot metal when smithng. Sometimes, he repaired the horseshoes for Bessie. He used them to fish the horseshoe up, keeping it at arms length so Jacob couldn't touch him.

"Normally, I have the house and place guarded well against him, but I forgot the damn stable" He said, "Can you sooth Bessie? don't worry, she isn't afraid of vampires" He said, giving her a smile. "Oddly enough, she likes them. Never been able to figure out why" He shrugged, starting out the stable, probably looking like a right old sight, with a ghost floating along in front of him as he walked, the boy trying to get him. "Oh, shove off Jacob, I'm protected against possession" He said with a chuckle.

She smiled at Connor, glad that his risky attempt had worked. Though she was unsure of the next step in his plan, keeping an angry ghost in the house, she remained quiet about it- trusting the hunter to at his job.

Mentioning the horse before running off, Elizabeth looked at Bessie with a mild form of confusion, "you...like vampires?" she asked the animal. She knew that it wouldn't speak back, but she had loved horses as a human and hadn't dared to get up close and personal with one since her turning. Quietly making her way over to the animal, she reached out to soothe her, keeping her voice quiet as he continued speaking. "Such a strange animal...vampires are predators you know...and we're not above hunting your kind either..." she paused as she stroked the animals neck, feeling the familiar fur under her fingertips and palms. "vampire horses...they must exist...but it sounds silly, no?"

Connor didn't take long to bury the horseshoe in the basement, even though he dug down deep. Jacob wouldn't be able to move from the horseshoe much, and so by digging down deep, he would be trapped in the earth. It would do until he could figure something else out.

He sighed, weary, running his hands through his hair, taking the page out of his pocket, and put it back in the book it had come from. He set the books back that he had ripped off the shelf, before heading back to the stable.

"I've learned that nothing is impossible now" He said, leaning against the stable door. "I've used Bessie with a few supernatural creatures, but ghosts always scare her. Vampires don't, not anymore, nor werewolves" He said, as Bessie allowed herself to be stroked by Elizabeth. He smiled slightly, because he could see that Elizabeth enjoyed horses. "Bessie's one of a kind"

A smile of actual happiness came over her as she almost forgot what and when she was. It was just her petting the beautiful creature infront of her. Eventually that moment faded a bit and she once again became a 300 year old vampiress petting a warm mortal creature. Still, for her, it was a wonderful thing. "When you say 'use with supernatural creatures..' what is it that you mean?" she paused, "Do you mean using for...a therapy...sort of situation?"

She continued stroking the animal slowly, occasionally offering pats. After a while she closed her eyes too. Things were foggy for her now, but she could still get some of those memories to play for her. There were memories of days at the stables, the energy of riding, and the feeling of wind stinging her eyes. Slowly, she brought herself back, opening her eyes. She found that she was smiling a bit, and that she missed more than she had ever thought she had. "it's been 300 years, Bessie...it's too bad there aren't more like you,..you know?" she muttered quietly to the animal.

Connor shouk his head smiling, "I told you I can be a cowboy" he said with amusement. "Sometimes, a more easier shot can be made from horse back, then from a moving car" He said, going over to the feed bags, and mixing up Bessie some food.

"And moving through trees and things is easier with Bessie than it is with a car" He added, "I actually have a hat and everything" He chuckled, coming over and giving Bessie the food. stroking her. "I'm sorry girl, I completely forgot about the ghost. Its okay now, he won't be back" He petted her neck briefly,

"She's one of a kind. I hope that I can find a mate for her, and create a line of hunter horses" He gave Elizabeth a smile. "Do you want to ride her?" He asked, going over to the saddle on a wall, and taking it down.

She nodded slightly.

'Of course' she thought to ehrself, once again stroking the beast, "what was I thinking...therapy horse...for vampires and werewolves..'

She was lost for some of his talking, being able to pick up some of it but not particuarily listenening as she mentally chastized herself for asking something stupid.
"of course...it wopuld be a shame if she didn't get bred.." she stated quietly, smiling a little as she looked into bessie's eyes. " a fine mare like you ought to breed right?"

This was followed by even more petting that might have eventually lead to sensitive hands from all the stroking, rubbing and petting she was doing. Luckily, Connor distracted her by asking the best question he could ever think of when dealing with Elizabeth. Barring the impossible return to humanity.

Her head whipped around to look at him, just like a child who was being asked to ride a pony for the first time. "Oh could I? I can brush her and saddle her and adjust the footholds.."

Connor smiled, and moved passed her to put the saddle on Bessie, leaving the foot holds for her to adjust to her height and reach, "You can ride her, yes" He said, chuckling softly, and leading Bessie out the stall. so Elizabeth could get on.

"Alright, Bessie, you need to be on your best behaviour, and give Elizabeth a good ride" He said to the horse, getting a snort in return, taking that for a 'sure, I'll do good' He chuckled, and petted hr again, looking towards Elizabeth.

"Well, M'Lady" He said with amusement, smiling kindly, "Climb this valiant steed, and enjoy your ride" He said, holding the reins so she could climb up, smiling still. He would happily let her ride Bessie, as it seemed to make her excited, happy.

And since when did he care about a vampire's happiness? He didn't know, but he thought she at least deserved it. She wasn't like other vampires, it seemed.

Elizabeth didn't take too long at adjusting the footholds. It took her a couple tries before remembering where to put them for her height, but she was pretty fast at it. Once the adjustments were made, she waited patiently, though she was quite excited, for him to talk to his horse and tell her when she could mount.

Keeping her energy in check, she went up to Bessie and mounted in a way that seemed well practiced. She beamed once she was up there, and petted the horse's neck, "There..that's a good girl."

She smiled down at Connor, " I should thank you for this opportunity, good sir, and ask if there be any place which I should take care to avoid?"
Sure, he had been joking around, but it was refreshing to her to be able to speak in a way that she had grown up with..to have a moment of not needing to feign a different accent or speech pattern. For a brief moment, ontop of the horse, she was entirely herself.
