Soul Story Online
It's the year 2020; several years ago the world's first virtual reality game was created only to disappoint millions with its poor environments, lackluster AI and massive lag. Fortunately, technology evolved. An emerging software company, Oracle, decided to incorporate the latest in brain science into its ambitious project - Soul Story Online. They found a way to successfully trick the five sense into accepting artificial reality as real via a headset; an adjustable meter would control the level of realism - hardcore gamers could set the dial at max to experience fatigue and even pain. Since its first reveal, the hype was uncontainable and thousands would wait in line for the game's release.
Soon the game was released to the public. As thousands connected their headsets, Aeternus, the virtual world, became alive. As hoped, the game more than met even the wildest of expectations; the spawn town, Nexus, was quickly filled with the awed expressions of people admiring the level of detail in their avatar, the seamlessly integrated user interface that lit as a bright holographic screen and the rough feel of brick that held up armor shops and magic boutiques that were attended by Oracle moderators. The game's combat system was equally impressive; physics was augmented to allow incredible duals in both PvP and PvE and as was promised, each player had the Soul Attack function present in their attack log but strangely set to 'unavailable'. Despite that inconsequential inconvenience, nothing in the world could ruin the experience until people tried accessing the log-out option. At first, players thought they simply could not find the well hidden button but they soon realized there was no such function.
And then everyone received an ominous letter that changed everything...

Weapon Name:
Class: 1 well-written paragraph (I won't have too many reservations so long as you don't abuse this; I'll let you know if you are)
Soul Attack:
Avatar Appearance: 1 well-written paragraph (The game replicates actual physical appearance via a set of polygons that essentially recreates your image virtually and other gibberish that we won't bother going into; you may use an image to supplement your paragraph, I prefer you'd use a Gaia image but up to you)
Personality: 1 well-written paragraph (I'd like to see characters complete with strengths as well as weaknesses)
Here's my CS; I might do some editing as I'm not fully satisfied with this but anyway...
Real Life Name: Hunter Crux
Soul Story User Name: Ares
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Weapon: Great Lance
Weapon Name: Soul Eater
Class: Dark Knight
Level: 1 (We're all level 1, no exceptions)
Soul Attack: The Thousand War Ender - A fury of blows charged with dark energy that maul the opponent (Use of Soul Attacks will have some interesting consequences...)
Avatar Appearance: (The game replicates actual physical appearance via a set of polygons that essentially recreates your image virtually and other gibberish that we won't bother going into)
Towering at 6'1'', Hunter sports a hazelnut faux-hawk that drops down along the contour of the neck and down the forehead, on opposite side, to the tip of his Greek-esque nose. He has thick, well-kept eyebrows and his sideburns arch around the temple before sliding down to perfect peaks along his jawline. His intense, emerald-struck eyes contrast with his pale skin tone and his shoulders amount for his most impressive feature. While not heavily built or overly muscular, Hunter is toned. As part of his in-game ensemble, Hunter wears a wine-red cloak; the hood usually hangs at eye level just enough to allow him visibility of his surroundings but also enough to conceal the greater part of his expression. He wears a silver chest-plate with gold edges around the waist level and around the shoulder slots. The gauntlets protecting his arm are made of the same black, stainless steel as his leg armor. The shoe piece peaks into a lethal point on each foot and along the shin up to the knee and beyond, metal layers stack.
Personality: Hunter likes to keep to himself by choice but doesn't mean he won't occasionally join in on conversation. He's intrusive when it comes to taking action but has deep regrets. He isn't known for being the smartest person and if grades are any indication of such, he isn't the most studious but he is street smart. An avid MMO player, Hunter has a reputation of playing solo but will once in a while play with others; this attribute mirrors his real life personality. He doesn't have many friends but care deeply for those that are in that list. One of his notable strengths is his incredible ability to push forward under great levels of pressure and one of his most unforgiving weaknesses is his blunt attitude toward the unknown. He can act (and probably will) without due consideration which, in the past, has lead to undesirable outcomes and has landed him in tight spots. At first glance and certainly when you first meet him, it would appear that he has an attitude problem or a rainy cloud constantly over his shoulder and this is because he does. He's impatient, hates flying and is easily annoyed by certain types of personalities.
By all means a reserved person, Hunter doesn't easily trust others but is known to have fallen for the wrong people in the past which is why for the time being he's kept away from relationships. Lastly, Hunter is by no means an expert at MMOs but he learns quickly and enjoys the competitive scene.

Aeternus - The World
Nexus
- Is the initial spawn town, equipped with a town square, armor shops and item boutiques of several types, Nexus is a safe zone from monsters and PvP. The often foggy town is located in the center of a mythical forest that hides an elusive but fatal boss.
(Locations, monsters and drop items will be revealed int he IC OP)
RP Mechanics
This RP will be sort of open world but plot driven to keep things interesting; I won't bother with HP points because it will only kills things, instead we will use a percentage system and I will trust you to use it for fun. There will be items and such and I will dictate level progression base on post quality. Depending on how many players we have, I might need a coGM to help me with quests. Hm...can't think of anything else right now. If anyone has any questions, shoot.
Go.
