IC: Brandi stumbled backwards out of a visitor's center bathroom with her toothbrush sticking out of her mouth and a comb jammed in the back of a tangled mess of blonde hair. The band was on the road, since Fifer's office was a few hours away from home. Their "touring bus" was more of an old, big, clunky Chevy van, driven by Brandi's older brother Michael, since he was the only one who could keep it running.

"Forget it! I'm not going in that nasty place!"

Michael whispered something about Brandi being a baby.

"I don't see you going in there!" She yelled.

"Don't need to," Michael said as he turned back to cleaning the battery caps off. Again.

"Are the facilities not meeting madam's standards?" Max said mockingly as he emerged from the adjacent door which led to the men's lavatory.
"You could try your luck in there.." he gestured toward the men's door "..Don't think it'll be a whole lot better though princess" he grinned.

Brandi was an alright kid as far as Max was concerned, she was the best bassist the band could hope for on their pay grade and more importantly; her brother drove the van.

Taya leaned forward over the sink and inspected herself in the slightly greasy mirror. It didn't seem like her hair was growing out yet, but the highlights had faded far more than was promised by the back of the box. It might explain why the dye had been so cheap though. Inspecting her face some more she wondered whether she should take a piercing. It seemed rather painful, perhaps a fake one would do?
As she was contemplating this she heard Brandi argue with her brother outside the door and she smiled.

"Do as I do, pay attention to where you walk, and use toilet paper as eh makeshift sanitary gloves if you need to touch anything..." She raised her voice just enough for Brandi to hear her as she was standing outside.
She breathed in through her nose, immediately regretting that decision.
"Also, you might want to breath through your mouth as long as you are here."

Stephen sat on the side of the front passengers seat of the van, the door was wide open and Stephen was tuning his beloved guitar. The guitar was a present from his parents for getting through university and doing well on his highschool exams. It was an ebony black Rickenbacker 330 that was about as precious to him as life itself. He was happily tuning it when their new bassist began shouting to her brother about the condition of the bathroom. He was still rather skeptical about their new bassist, she was young and Stephen knew very little about her so far. Stephen had woken up early in order to actually get into the bathroom before the plethora of truckers and drivers about to stop in the restrooms. He had cleaned up in the early hours of the morning and had spent the rest of the time it took for everyone to wake up plucking away on his guitar.

He hopped down from the chair and turned to the two before speaking.
"It's either in there or nowhere I'm afraid, better to just get it out of the way quickly instead of stepping around it" He leaned against the side of the van and slid his hands into his pockets. The long black strap held Stephen's guitar in place near his midsection. He was eager to get back on the road, he disliked waiting around greatly and was getting bored of playing 'I spy' with Michael.

Patrick sighed as Road House's spunky new bassist emerged from the bathroom in a fuss.

"Welcome to life on the road, missie." Patrick told Brandi with a weak grin. Patrick wondered what was with Road Sign and the band's uncanny poor luck with bassists. It always seemed that wherever the band went, the rotation of bassists played its course, whether because of one oddity or another...and now because of tragedy. However, Patrick thought maybe he should give this girl a chance. She has the raw talent, and certainly the ambition and energy of someone willing to commit to being a musician. It also helps that her brother was willing to drive the group to and fro on a penny on a dollar, but that was neither here nor there. However, Patrick knew that Brandi's princess charade was going to get old, and fast.

Patrick peaked through the backseat window, making sure that the gear was snugged nice and tight in the back. No need for any accidents, he didn't want this to end up like last year's tour. Christ, what a mess that was. All that work, all of the dives we played in, all of the driving, and still no call back from any producers.

When Taya left the building she had to blink against the sun. She didn't care enough about it to check the time on her phone, but judging from the light it was getting late. It was a slight kink in their plan, as they had hoped to leave early in the morning. Plans usually had kinks in them around their band.
She made her way over the parking lot to the van and smiled at Michael who seemed to be repairing something. It was a miracle the van was still going, a miracle they owed to Brandi's brother. Taya would rather not think about all the rusted parts that could, and would, break any time.
Climbing inside she had to maneuver past some bags and Stephen with his guitar. In the back of the van, at a spot that was of course almost impossible to reach, she found what she was looking for: Her favorite drumsticks lay on the luggage rack, among some random objects that had somehow found their way inside the van. They were her favorite drumsticks because they were the first drumsticks she had, not because they were the best. In fact, as far as drumsticks go they were actually kinda shitty, and she never used them for band rehearsals or concerts. However, they were her lucky charms, and as such they were indispensable. Besides, they did rather well if you just wanted to improvise a rhythm on random objects, which is what she was planning on doing.
She thought back to the previous tour. They had had a different bassist back then, but the overall feel was the same. Of course, back then, she was the new one. She had dropped in halfway through their tour, when their drummer had injured himself. She considered herself lucky that the drummer had decided to join a more promising band, as last time she had been nothing but a replacement. Now she was a full fledged member however, and she was going to prove it to the world. With a smile she left the van again and started practicing a few rather complicated drum riffs on the back of a bench.

IC: Brandi sighed and smiled at Taya, stepping back into the bathroom and muttering something about her brother having a stupid name.

A few minutes later she walked out, her hair presentable again, just in time to be greeted by the characteristic cranking sound of the van starting, her brother's hands covered in scrubbed off char.

"And we're good to go. Next stop, top of the world!"

OOC: Just realized that I named her brother Michael Michaels XD
