He checked the window and saw an elevated platform 1 floor below he can fall on. It would keep both of them alive, but it would hurt. A lot.

He jumped, making sure he landed first and safe. He checked the person he was with and saw he or she was alright, if not a bit shocked.

He started looking for a bathroom.
