Aoba didn't know what to say to Kuro for a moment. 'That's. . . That's pretty extreme. To owe your life to me? You do realize you'll be wasting your time with me? I'm only going to be a burden you know. . .' The fallen angel didn't realize he was giving a concerned and slightly confused look. He didn't live off of repayment. A good deed was a good deed- although this deed was questionable in the eyes of both parties of demon and angel. He merely sighed and nodded. "I guess I won't be able to tell you otherwise then. And even if you don't want it, I'll probably thank you anyway." As he spoke, there were occasional winces and twitches when it hurt a little more than he could ignore. Aoba watched the blood start to form and moments later cleared by Kuro's magic.

"That's really not necessary. You don't really need to-" Aoba shook his head quickly as Kuro spoke of giving up his freedom. "That's pretty- pretty extreme. And you're not some pet..." Then it occured to him what the priest was talking about when he spoke of sad puppies on the roof. "I don't want to be a burden. You probably have many other things to do- like the priest." His attempts to deter Kuro's plan was thrown off when he pulled out a feather. Not just any feather, but his feather. His nose scrunched up a little seeing that it was still black. Staring at the feather, he ran fingers over his arm and nodded confirming that it was okay. "Thank you." He said again before listening to Kuro. "Well, I didn't know they'd still be connected after corruption." He nodded, learning something new.

His expression turned into confusion as Kuro put it back in his pocket. But before he could say anything, Kuro was moving. The thought of the crater made him scowl a little. 'That really did hurt... I guess I pushed it to the back of my mind...Probably because I went unconscious.' The sudden pressing on his back made him yelp in pain. "Yes." How on earth did he miss that? Aoba must've really been preoccupied with other things. His wings folded tighter to hide the spot that Kuro pressed against. "Yes. That hurts." He scooted away some, not wanting him to mess with it. 'I must've fell on rocks... Well, the crater is kinda obvious.'

To focus on something else besides his injury, he spoke again. "Why do you have my feather still? Well... at all." Once again, confusion fell on his face.

Kuro rolls his eyes as the little angel scoots away from him, curling his wings in an effort to hide the spot he touched. 'No chance Little Mouse. You asked me for help, so I'm going to help' Working gently, but firmly, Kuro moves in close to Aoba and carefully shifts his wings out of the way. He keeps one hand on Aoba's waist to hold him in place as he strokes the wings to settle them down a bit. Making light shushing noises he smiles lightly. “I think you missed the part when I said I'm different from my fellow demons.” His fingers once more slide down to the angel's back, but this time he makes sure not to touch it for now.

He can feel the bruise with his magic now, the ruptured blood vessels obvious now that he knows they are there. “I don't have friends, I don't have duties, and above all else, I do what I love to do.” He leans to the side just far enough to see the angel's face. “I'm here because I want to be, Little Mouse.” Leaning back he sets to work. “This will hurt too, but not as much as when I touched it, so stay still.” His hand tightens slightly on Aoba's waist as his other hand begins brushing the bruise away. In long sweeping motions he tries to heal him in as few passes as possible, knowing just how much the process hurts and not wanting Aoba to suffer longer than he has to.

“That crash really did a number on your skin. Be thankful your bones are more sturdy. . .” He murmurs softly. Once he's almost finished he begins thinking about the boy's question. 'Why do I still have it? I mean, it's pretty, but I've never been one to collect pretty things, like other demons. It was useful while I was in prison, but now it's just. . .' He lets out a sigh. “I took it at fist because I saw how bad you felt for me, and wondered how quickly you would be corrupted. It helped me track that, telling me when you were ready for my asking for your help to escape.” Finishing his last sweep his other hand comes down to settle on the other side of Aoba's waist, holding him in place.

“Don't get me wrong, I really do like you Little Mouse, but at the time, I was more concerned with escape. A demon looks after their own hide first and foremost. . .Or at least, that's what our instincts tell us to do. . .” Leaning his head down he rest his forehead against the back of Aoba's neck softly. “As I grew more fond of you, I really did worry about the corruption, but you know, death to a demon is far worse than you can imagine. I was willing to do it, should you not ever consent to helping me, but I had to try all avenues before hand.” He keeps his body still, his breath tickling over the sensitive place where Aoba's wings are attached. “Now? I don't know. I like it, it feels right. For some reason, I don't want to let it go. . ." Knowing the angel must be feeling very trapped by now Kuro lets him go and stands, moving backwards until he's resting against a wall. He crosses his arms and looks to the floor, waiting for Aoba to kick him out again after such a reveal about his true motives up in heaven.

"That's kind of sad. You should have some friends. But, I don't really know much about you and demons." He tensed immediately as Kuro moved his wings and examined the wound. "And what kind of things do you love to do?" He looked over at him, but tensed again as Kuro held him place. How did he know he was going to run? 'This will hurt, but. . . It couldn't possibly be that bad right?' Well, he was wrong. As Kuro worked, using his magic, Aoba bit down hard on his lip and refrained from yelling out. A few tears escaped, but he didn't bother wiping them away. Aoba clutched his pants legs as the pain raced up his body.

When he finished, Aoba released a breath he didn't realize he was holding. For a moment, he wasn't paying attention to Kuro's explanation, wiping the few tears that escaped. Realizing he was explaining why he had his feather, Aoba listened, only remembering why he was giving Kuro the silent treatment in the first place. He let out another sigh, not bothering to move his hand from around his waist. His eyes widened a little in surprise as Kuro admitted his feelings- but then he remembered what Kuro said about not having a heart. Which meant there was only surface meaning to his words. The angel continued to stay silent while Kuro leaned against him. He couldn't help the soft shiver that ran down his spine when Kuro sighed.

His wings moved to adjust when Kuro moved and he stretched his back and wings out. There was no more pain. "For a demon with a lack of medical skills, you did a nice job." He stood slowly and rubbed his arms again. "Thank you." Aoba was still upset with Kuro, but he couldn't a grudge for that long. His silent treatment wasn't going to work for too long anyway. Aoba returns to his position on the couch, pulling up his legs and occasionally glancing over at Kuro.

"He's harboring a little angel in there."

"Yeah, he hasn't killed it yet. But he won't give it up."

"What a waste..."

"Heh, just wait till the little thing gets too close."

A few demons, three to be exact, had gathered near the border, getting dangerously close. None of them crossed, but they stayed low to the ground examining the area. The new angel was easy to spot out, but getting to him seemed to be a bit of a problem.

His eyes flicker up to the wings stretching, but he returns his gaze tot he floor, his arms crossing over his chest as he stands silently. “Any time Little Mouse. . .” As the nervous little angel curls up on the couch, casting a glance his way every so often, Kuro decides to just start talking. It couldn't hurt, right? “I don't lack medical skills, in fact as far as mortals are concerned, I'm the best doctor that ever was. I just used what I know about mortal medicine and integrate the knowledge into my energy. In heaven I could not heal because I had no energy. There was nothing for me to feed on up there.” He glances out the window at the feeling of a few demons nearby. “Speaking of feeding. . .” He shakes his head. “Nevermind.”

With a light sigh he moves right along to some useful information. “I've marked off the area, but you are such rare game that demons are going to be after you near constantly for a while. Lower level ones, the ones that would be content to just tear you to shreds, won't cross my lines unless you're right at the edge. The stronger ones, the ones who will cross my lines, won't hurt you for a while. They have a little more honor and know that if I manage to get you back, that their worthless hides will don these walls if I get you back injured. They would hold you until they're sure I'm too weak to get you back.”

Letting out a small huff he doesn't notice his claws and fangs growing as he thinks about any of them laying a hand on his prize. “I'll show you where it's safe Little Mouse, and we can expand the area if you like. I'm not sure how much of this land is yours, and I think a nice buffer zone will keep you more safe.” His gaze falls on to Aoba for several seconds before he adds, “Once I've established myself enough, I can give you something that will allow you to do stuff like go to town without me, but for now. . . .I am the weakest son. I need to win the right to keep you to myself.”

His eyes shift back outside, watching some grass move in a way that give away the demons crawling around in it. 'Bastards' His claws retract, fangs too, and he gives Aoba a sad look. “I know this is very different, and very terrible for you, but I will do my best to not make you some kind of caged animal. You just worry about the farm and caring for it. Other than staying inside the lines, don't give the demons another thought.” He tries to look supportive, but after a second his head whips around to the window again. With a growl his body shifts to battle mode and he darts outside to deal with the almost intruders.

"Oh that's nice. The- the doctor thing not the heaven thing." He quickly corrected himself before looking out the window to see nothing but grass and trees farther off his property. Aoba got comfortable, letting his wings spread a little as Kuro decided to explain himself. And only a few moments later, Aoba adopted an expression of shock and disbelief. Demons were going to be after him? "But why?" He didn't realize he had asked out loud as he sat up, once again his wings closing behind him. "In heaven I was just a lower level angel. There's nothing special about that. . ." He tried to downplay himself, not needing random demons to get the wrong idea that he was important. "I was barely a medic angel. . ." He mumbled more to himself, but turned to look out the window once more.

He didn't protest about Kuro helping him anymore, but he did feel like a caged animal. 'Safe zones? Is there really any place he could be safe?' That, on top of worrying about farming? Even if he said not to worry about the demons, Aoba was naturally going to fear for his life. "Weakest son. . . How many siblings do you have? " He had wondered what it would be like to have actual siblings, but Kuro's stories deterred him from it. Aoba noticed his fangs and claws growing, and scooted away ever so slightly. But he seemed to regain himself soon after. He wasn't sure how to feel about being 'owned' or being trapped in the house. But, he wanted to live so he had to deal with it- for the time being.

He was going to say something else, but with a growl, Kuro was out the house leaving Aoba alone. He curled up on the couch, staring at the blank box for a few moments. He realized the door was still open so he peeked to see if he could spot Kuro. Without a doubt, he could see the demon, but he stayed low as three more appeared out of nowhere. "That's too many. . . Don't get yourself hurt." Of course Aoba would naturally- but it wasn't just for his sake. He still thought highly of Kuro, even if he didn't want to admit.

- - -

"Hey, he's coming over."

"Tch, he's not going to do anything. I bet I could take him."

"Yeah, sure."

As Kuro got closer, the three stepped back and away from the line. The tough guy stood a bit taller and growled, threatening to cross the line. "I'm sure he's all bark and no bite. After all, he hasn't killed the angel. So? What is it? You're keeping it as a pet?"

"Hehe, I heard it was a cutie! I want to judge that myself. So why not just let us take a quick... hehe bite." The demon grinned deviously, showing off his fangs. The third notice the door opened and narrowed his eyes, staring into the house. The shift of movement made him smirk as he spotted the angel hiding. "I just want a closer look."

The demon who had started it growled again, as if telling Kuro to step aside.

Aoba's eyes widened when he spotted two narrowed gold ones staring at him. He immediately cowered lower into the seat to hide hide himself. Who knew what those demons would do to him. . .

His eyes flash, his fangs peeking out from beneath his lips, his claws blackened and extended, Kuro lets out a low rumble as he approaches the intruding demons. 'These filth aren't even worth my time. All three working together may be able to hold me back for a while, but they don't look like a team. I can take them, no problem' As he stops just short of the invisible line he'd created earlier Kuro pulls his lips back as he's addressed. “Take one step over that line and you'll find out just how fast your nuts can become earrings tubby.” The strong one's eyes narrow at his, but the comment made by the second demon catches his attention before the tough one can reply.

A deep rumbling growl finds it's way out as he stomps one foot and drops his hands to his side, his claws curled towards the lesser demons. “It is mine, and you will not touch it. Keep trying to see it, and I will have your eyes for key-chains. . .” His voice is nearly unrecognizable as his own, his magic lacing it's way through his body changing the sound. As he spreads his hands wide his pendant falls out of the folds of his jacket. He'd loosened it earlier to give him some air as he worked on Aoba, and now the pendant takes the chance to hang loose.

At the sight of it the two weaker demon draw back, the sight of it enough to convince them to have second thoughts. However the bigger one, too angry at the insult earlier growls back, trying to get Kuro out of the way. He's hear dhow much fun dismantling an angel can be, and while he does not had the power to do it in battle, he will not pass up the chance to have some fun with a low level fallen angel. Kuro however doesn't budge, his energy come out to dace around his flesh. This display drives the smaller ones back a little further, but they are now too curious as to what their companion will do against the son of Satan.

All three demons growled in response to his threats, although the larger demon was the only one to step forward. "Big talk from someone who's on the bottom of the food chain in his own family. I'm sure I'll make much more use of the angel than you have." The two smaller demons hoped that the larger, known as Garnett, would provide a decent enough distraction in order for them to slip past. They knew it was risky, but the chances of nabbing an angel was low so they were willing to risk it. Garnett unsheathed his claws and fangs, preparing to attack. The wind blew, causing his short black hair to ruffle as he lowered.

The two behind him split up and stalked around the two just as Garnett leaped to attack. "Hehe, this little angel must be worth something if the son of Satan himself is hoarding him, even if his title isn't high."

"Why do you think he's keeping him?" The many reasons as to why Kuro would hold an angel in an empty area were less then pleasant, as they thought about it. It never occured to them that maybe he was helping the angel. No way. That would never happen. They both froze as the sound of angry growling and tossling grew louder. "We need to hurry!" The other spread his wings but was immediately hissed at. "Are you crazy? He'll take out your wings!"

"Not if I'm fast enough." With a heavy flap, he shot up and towards the house. The other was smart enough to lay low and to the ground, watching the demon be an idiot. Said demon, the one who had the yellowish eye that almost appeared cat like, flew towards the door. It would've been an easy shot. Straight through, grab the angel, and fly out. Aoba saw the unfamiliar demon flying towards him and his eyes widened with fear. He wasted no time scrambling off the couch and crawling to the door. He slammed it shut, hearing a heavy thump afterwards and slew of curses. The little angel scrambled up and went off to hide.

Still in the field, the other demon snickered as he watched the demon smack into the door. "Idiot..."

With a roar Kuro tosses the larger demon, using his own momentum to slam him hard into the ground. However despite his size, Garnett is quick and back on his feet before Kuro can address the others. He kicks out with a clawed foot to make the larger demon back up and Kuro takes the chance to glance towards the others. 'Good, they are still outside the line' However just as he thinks that, he spots the wings open. 'Oh hell no. . .' He lets out an ungodly noise, ducking under a strike by Garnett and reaching up for his throat. He is just that little bit faster and Kuro's claws close around the demon's exposed neck. Pulling him in close he whispers, “I don't have time for you.” before ripping clear through the front half of his neck, his fist closing and jerking back with a handful of flesh clutched in it.

He turns at the sound of the thump against the door and Kuro can not help but smile at Aoba's quick thinking. 'Way to go Little Mouse, that's using your head' The demon is stunned just long enough for Kuro to pull off his next attack. Ignoring the large demon bleeding to death at his feet, it's blood staining the dirt dark red, the youngest son of Satan looks around from something to throw. Spotting an old fence post he wrenches it out of the ground and after taking careful aim he launches it like a javelin at the demon at the door. With a sickening screech it falls to it's knees, the post going clear through both wings, the end sinking into the door to pin the beast in place.

The sight of his companion impaled by the long bit of wood makes the final demon freeze. Kuro spots in easy and in a flash is standing right in front of him. He yelps and tried to flee but Kuro has him by the throat in a flash, pulling him up to eye level. A sickening sadistic smile spreads across his lips as he recognizes this one as the one who wanted to 'take a bite' of Aoba. The demon swallows hard, not struggling in hopes that his cooperation will save his life. He's not entirely wrong in his thinking. Bringing up a hand Kuro sinks his claws into the creature's left eye socket, ripping out his eye a moment later. The demon lets out a scream, but otherwise does not respond. Dropping the creatures he hisses, “You two get lost, pass the word, and take that lump of fat with you!”

The demon clutches at his empty eye socket, nodding pitifully. The one by the door overheard Kuro's hiss and stills as the high level demon approaches. He lets out a pathetic whimper as Kuro removes the post from the door with a hard yank, dropping the critter to the porch in the process. Kuro kicks him hard, sending his body sailing off the porch an towards Garnett's now still form. The two of them carefully pull the larger demon off the property before opening a portal and vanishing from sight. It takes several minutes for Kuro to calm down, but when at last he feels himself coming down he steps to the edge of the porch and lets out an almighty roar. Once again, making his victory.

He pants hard, his body slowly coming back to it's normal state. He glances at the hole in the door and slumps. “Oh great, now I need to get him a new door. That's just perfect, thanks guys. . .” With a whine Kuro slumps inside and looks around for Aoba. Not seeing him in the main room he wanders upstairs. He knows the angel is most likely in a closet, or in his room, but since the house is so small he contents himself with calling out to him. “The demons are gone. Things should be quiet for a while. I'm going to borrow your bathroom to clean up, I'm a bit of a mess.” With a sigh he moves into the wash room and strips off his coat. Now ruined by demon blood he whimpers slightly at the sight of it. “And I really liked that coat. . .” With a sigh, he turns on the faucet and begins cleaning his hands, setting his trophy on the edge of the sink where it won't fall.

Aoba hid. That was all he could do. It would at least slow them down. He heard the cursing outside the door and panicked. He quickly ran up the steps and looked around for a place to hide. His heart raced, feeling impending doom if he didn't find safety. Into his room he went, and then to the dusty closet. He covered his mouth and nose to refrain from coughing. He curled up in the corner, trying to stay as still as possible. 'That was too close. Too close. Too close! His small frame shook, but even as fearful as he was, he worried about Kuro. He saw all three of those demons, and one was fairly large. He resembled some of the warrior angels in physique. So, he decided to be risky.

He didn't hear the demons rummaging through his new house, trying to find him. The creaky floors would have gave them away. So, quietly, he crawled out of the closet, staying as silent as possible- being a "little mouse". He peeked through the curtain of the nearest window to see Kuro in action. The bloody massacre made him pale. The blood wasn't the issue, he dealt with blood all the time- but the way Kuro handled each of them, made him cower away. The second demon that was attacked was too close to the door to see, so Aoba only managed to see gauging of flesh and eyes before he ran back to the closet.

This time he couldn't control the soft coughing as he inhaled some of the dust in there, but he hurried to get himself together, not knowing where the third had gotten to. The roaring only made him quiet down faster. He didn't know who it belonged to and it sounded menacing. Hearing  footsteps made Aoba curl up tighter. 'Pleasepleaseplease...' Kuro's voice rang out and Aoba flinched, soon relaxing at the familiarity. 'They're gone? He...stopped them all?' Slowly, but surely Aoba crawled out of the closet and coughed again.

The angel was covered in dust from head to toe. He stood, dusting himself off as best as he could. As he did, he looked out and towards the bathroom. "A-Are you okay?" His voice was a bit shaky as he focused on calming down. He didn't bother walking to the bathroom, not really wanting to see the mess that Kuro said he was. Instead, he sat on the floor of his room and looked at his dirty wings. It was hard to tell what was dust and whay was just his new gray feathers, so he quietly began to dust them off.

The sink quickly turns red as the blood from his hands washes slowly off. 'I can't believe, and so quickly! Maybe there are more demons in the area than I thought. Or maybe, those are all of them and they just decided to come together. Whatever the case may be, I have to make sure to stick close. Not all demons walk up to the door after all' He glances down at the floor, imagining one of the burrowing demons he knows of coming up in the middle of the night. He snarls lightly but falls silent as Aoba's voice rings out from somewhere outside the bathroom. He smiles a little, happy to hear the little angel after being so riled up. 'Something about him is so calming. . . And stimulating at the same time' Raising his voice only slightly he calls out, “I'm fine, just give me a minute!”

As soon as he's sure he's gotten all the blood of he looks to the coat and grimaces. Deciding it's worth the effort he summons a brand new one. Demons can create anything they need really, but Kuro has always preferred using the human made stuff. It feels better on his skin. '[/i] But the coat hardly touches my skin, so, whatever'[/i] Pulling it on he then looks to the last order of business, aside from hanging the coat like a scarecrow outside. He stares at the eye for q few minutes until at last he decides to follow through with his promise. Scooping it up, the orb no longer bloody after the quick rinse he gave it while washing his hands, he holds it in his palm for a moment before closing his hand around it hard.

Rather than it squishing, the eyeball compacts, crushing itself down to about the size of a marble and becoming hard as stone. Kuro concentrates and after a minute he opens his hand. Now resting in his palm is a white stone with blue swirls in it, hanging at the end of a chain. “There. Key chain. Like I said.” He smiles at it, slipping on his coat, then steps out of the bathroom into the hall. Looking towards the kid's room he lets out a sigh. 'I really hope he's not freaking out or something' Wandering up to the door he opens it slowly and peeks inside. Seeing him trying to clean his wings he smiles. 'Well, he's not panicking' Coughing to catch Aoba's attention he tosses the key chain to him. “Keep it on you. It will help keep you safe.” He prays the angel doesn't ask any questions about the key chain, loath to explain how he came by it.

Aoba looked up to see a key chain fall in his lap. "Hm?" He picked it up carefully and then slipped it on when he was told it was to help. Aoba would need all the help he could get. Eventually, he returned to cleaning his wings. Soon enough, he started to realize that they grey on him was just his wings. He heaved a sigh before standing up slowly. "That won't happen every day will it?" As he asked, he wearily looked out the window to see if the demons were out there. Who knew if they'd come back again. Though with those injuries, he knew they weren't going to be doing anything for awhile.

At the thought of them attacking at night, made him shiver. "Um, Kuro?" He looked down at his new necklace as he spoke.  His fingers went over the stone in curiosity. 'How will a charm help me? Oh well.' "Do you.  . . Do you want to stay inside?" He remembered he was suppoose to be angry with Kuro, but it was really hard to do that. He was taught things life forgive and forget. It was hard to break those habits.

"I don't know where you'd sleep, but I guess. . . It's only fair that you do, since you saved me and all." He gave a small shrug before looking up at Kuro. He wanted to assure protection, but it was hard to think he'd stay on the roof all the time. And knowing he was closer would help ease him. Although, after a scare like that, he didn't think he'd be sleeping much for the night.

Aoba went to check on the downstairs. Everything was still in tact... except for the door. He raised am eyebrow, but only assumed that it was for the best. Aoba walked into the kitchen getting the apple he had saved. It had been sometime,  and he realized the priest was right about the hunger thing. 'This will be a pain.' He sighed and looked around the empty house. "I wonder when that stuff is suppos to be here. . ."

Kuro can not help but smile fondly down at the little angel as he continues trying to clean his wings off. He considers offering to help, but decides that the kid isn't quire ready for something like that yet. 'After all, I know how sensitive wings can be, and while I want to go that way eventually, I think now it would just spook him. I'm really glad he didn't ask about the stone. I was right about his will to survive' Kuro shakes his head softly. “No, that won't happen every day. After the blood spilled out there today, and my initial marking, most demons will stay at a good distance for a while. I'll keep my eyes open Little Mouse, don't you worry about them.”

He feels a little spark of victory when Aoba offers to let him stay in the house, but the smile on his lips remains soft and warm. “I don't mind the floor, and there is a couch downstairs. I think though without a warm body to share it with, the floor will be more comfortable.” His logic is quite sound. A demon needs to be either cold or warm to sleep, and since they do not really radiate heat like other living creatures, the cold of the floor would help him sleep. 'However when the nights grow warmer, I do believe the couch will be sufficient, if I'm not already sharing with that warm body I'm aiming to join in that quaint little bed over there. . . .'

He works hard for his face not to reflect his naughty thoughts and succeeds just as Aoba looks up into his eyes. He reaches out and tousles the angel's hair gently and chuckles, “Thank you, Little Mouse.” As his hand falls back to his side he steps back so Aoba can pass through the doorway on his way downstairs. Kuro follows at a polite distance, wincing as the now disfigured door comes into view. 'I should fix that soon. . .' As Aoba wanders off towards the kitchen Kuro's attention shifts to past the door. His body stills as he hears feet on hard earth. 'I don't sense a demon. It feels more like a human, but who?' Then it hits him. With a grumbling growl Kuro lays down on the couch, his front facing the back of the couch so anyone looking at the couch will see only his back.

“Little Mouse. Guest.” He calls out, propping his head up on his hand while grumbling quietly to himself. Even if the clergyman seems to accept his presence, as a demon, he still feels uncomfortable around them. A few seconds later there is a knock at the door before it is opened a moment later by a slightly worried looking Father Gerard. His eyes go first to Kuro on the couch before shifting over to Aoba. He seems to relax a little, not seeing any overt injuries, but the sight of the kit on the table doesn't let him relax entirely. With a light cough he speaks up. “So, I see there was a little excitement out there this morning. Everyone come out with all their limbs attached?”

Kuro can not hold back a scoff. “Depends on what you mean by everyone. . .” Glancing over his shoulder just enough that Gerard can see his moth and eyes, he gives the man a rather evil looking grin. At his angle however Aoba would not be able to see it, which is the only reason he made the face. A moment later he looks back to the couch back and waits for the priest to state his business.

"The floor doesn't sound very comfortable, but I won't argue." Aoba mentioned as he walked down the steps. There was an audible sigh of relief knowing that he didn't have to have near death experiences everyday. 'What a world to live in...' And unfortunately for him, he was stuck there.  By now, Aoba was leaning against a chair in the kitchen and nibbling on the apple. He looked up curiously at Kuro seeing only his eyes then leaned forward to see the door. "I live in the middle of nowhere apparently. Why must anyone need to visit?"

His soft frustration turned into a smile when Father Gerard walked in. "Oh, it's wonderful to see you! I was just wondering when all that stuff would be getting here." His eyes follow the priest's to the kit and then noticed the look of concern. "Don't worry, they were just a few cuts and splinters I got. Kuro healed them though." He smiled lightly and pointed to the demon as he said his name. He wasn't aware of their little talk before. "And earlier, there was a fight. . . But Kuro took care of it."

The priest chuckled and once more looked at the demon, even laughing when he made the evil face. He glanced over at Kuro with a small smirk before returning his attention back to Aoba. "It seems the demon is quite useful, no? And I was beginning to think you wouldn't like the help." This made Aoba blush lightly and look down at his apple. The angel had to put up with the facts that he wouldn't survive alone and he didn't like being alone, so Kuro was welcomed to stay. Even though he apparently didn't plan on leaving. "Well, I've come to relay the message that your things will arrive in the morning. So you don't have to survive off of. . . Apples." Which he was sure Kuro got for him.

'I wonder what this demon is getting out of doing all this for the the angel .' The priest wanted to ask, but he wasn't sure the demon wouldn't be willing to tell.

Not able to ask the question he really wants to ask Gerard settles with asking about Aoba's first night. After hearing how it went he turns his attention back to the demon. 'I can at least find out some things I suppose' “So, Kuro is it?” Kuro flinches, then slowly turns so he can once again see the priest. His grumbling stops for now, but his eyes are narrowed in irritation.

'Why is it talking to me? It knows I'm not fond of it's presence, doesn't it?' Kuro knows his thoughts are a little foolish sounding, but the holy feeling coming off of the man only serves to remind him of things he'd rather forget.

Father Gerard does indeed notice the death glare coming from the demon, but with the angel's attitude towards the beast he's fairly positive that he's not in any real danger. Clearing his throat he smiles. “So, um, how did you two meet?”

Kuro is a bit torn. Not only between answering the man or not, but at just how to answer. 'If I'm as honest as I want to be, I know Little Mouse will feel really bad, but I really really wanna make it clear to him that I'm not doing anything wrong and am not some sort of threat to Aoba. The last thing I need is him bringing some of his buddies to exile me because he thinks I'm some sort of monster just looking for a pet. . .' Settling for the quick ugly version he growls a little before answering. “I was captured by some moronic angels and dragged up to heaven where I was tortured repeatedly for information I don't have and the Little Mouse was the only one with balls enough to be my medic, and eventually I tricked him into freeing me. There, now you have the entire history of our relationship, now leave me alone and go pester the one who's actually happy to see you. He could use the positive energy.”

With that Kuro once more turns away with a huff, this time his head resting on his bent arm while his other arm lay along his side. Father Gerard looks to Aoba with an unreadable expression. 'Well, the exile makes sense now. I knew he was too nice for the usual reasons' He smiles warmly at Aoba and gives him a sympathetic look.

Aoba stayed quiet, satisfying his hunger. Occasionally he would glance up to acknowledge something. But when the priest spoke to Kuro, even Aoba paused. He could almost feel the tension of Kuro's annoyance. He tried to offer a gentle smile to reassure him, but he didn't pay much attention as he glared him down. It was shocking to know he didn't get intimidated by the look, but he let the thought go as the two spoke.

His eyes softened when the priest wanted to know the origin of their 'relationship'. Of course there was no other way around it- there was no nicer version to it. And Kuro gave it to him just as it was. He could only give a small smile when he was given one of sympathy. "That's," The priest realized Kuro said he may need the positive energy. Talking about his exile would have been the wrong way to go. "Well, they must still have cared. They didn't send you straight to- well, his front door." This only made Aoba's eyes widen. 'They would've thrown me someplace worse than here!? Father Gerard saw what he did and cleared his throat.

"Here. I wasn't exactly sure, if your- demon would help you, but here's a little book to give you the basics of what to do. You seemed a little confused at the information. And I realized, you're more of an 'indoor angel' aren't you?"

"Um, if you mean I haven't been to this realm before, then yes." Aoba then threw the apple core away. "And thank you. I'll look through it." The priest began to explain some of things to do like plowing and planting and feeding animals. The very thiught of doing it all made him slump onto the counter. His wings drooped and he sighed. "I have to do all of that?"

The priest shrugged. "The more you do, the more food you have. You could always make it into a smaller version, but it would be smart to have a lot, especially during the winter season." Aoba only sighed and put his head down. Survival was already sounding like a lot. The priest crossed his arms and looked at Kuro in questioning, as if asking 'You do plan on helping this poor lost soul right?'

'Way to go man, tell him how much worse it could have been. Tear him up a little bite more inside!' Kuro knows that eventually such news may make Aoba actually feel better, but he knows how much his Little Mouse is just trying to cope with things the way they are. Thoughts of going to hell of all places would not help. He huffs lightly, peeking over his shoulder as he hears the apple core landing when tossed. 'Well, that's a waste' He wiggles his finger so the core floats over to him and in two quick bites he munches down the remnants of apple. Before he can turn back away from the conversation he watches as Aoba slumps sadly and bites his lip. 'Oh, come on Little Mouse, you know I won't let you starve'

He doesn't even really notice the look from the priest, instead he is focused on Aoba. Rolling his eyes he rolls himself off the couch and wanders slowly over to stand next to the depressed angel. Reaching out he runs his fingers gently over one of Aoba's wings and makes a shushing noise. “C'mon Little Mouse, don't pout. If I'm willing to fight and shed my blood for you, do you really think I'm going to let you starve or something like that?” Not sure how else to make him feel better he cups the back of Aoba's head, just like he use to do in the prison cell, before leaning up to place a gentle kiss on his temple. In a soft voice he whispers, “Trust me, Little Mouse. . .” He stays standing close until the angel looks at him, then with a smile he strokes his thumb along the back of Aoba's head, a fond smile on his lips.

Father Gerard watches the display with a mix of shock and real interest. 'I've heard of demons falling in love, but it's the fist time I've ever seen one being so tender. Normally a demons nature does not change and the one they fall for just puts up with their obsessive and violent nature, or flees before it' His mouth drops open slightly when Kuro kisses the angel but he snaps it shut a moment later. Too shocked by this to speak properly he simply continues to watch until Kuro steps back.

Chuckling slightly Kuro scoops up the book and begins reading it. He's read it before, but it never hurts to refresh one's memories on important subjects. Plopping down on the couch he goes back to ignoring the room in general, only a little of his attention on the conversation.

Aoba wasn't necessarily depressed by the news, just overwhelmed. To have so much thrown onto him at once after a having a practically care free life would do that to an angel. That didn't mean he still wasn't a sad angel. He hadn't been paying attention when he heard Kuro shifting off the couch. Instead, he treated his head down, trying to take everything step by step and process by process. His head lifted a little to see Kuro's figure at his side. That would explain the light touch to his wings. He didn't think the priest would randomly go touching his wings, but if he did, Aoba doubted he would have minded too much about it.

There was the familiar sensation when Kuro grabbed him gently, and instantly he knew what would happen next. When the kiss was placed, Aoba couldn't help but smile and nod. They share a moment and the priest watchs with a keen eye. Kuro was definitely much different from the other demons he had encounteted. Never had he seen something as intriguing as it was. Even though it was probably- no it was wrong for an angel and demon to be together, he couldn't help but wonder how far it would go. Would the two last? Aoba was obviously an innocent angel and he seemed oblivious to Kuro's devotion. And then there was Kuro who didn't see past his own surface affection, but that was probably due to his demonic nature as well. 'This is one messy relatjonship.'

"Sorry." Aoba mumbled and nodded. "I trust you." Of course, Aoba didn't realize putting his faith into a demon only would start the process of darkening his wings, let alone the demon charm he was wearing. It wasn't a dramatic change, but for the others it might have been easy to spot. The priest's was the first to notice, due to being able to see it in the light. He started to say something, but immediately silenced, unsure of how Aoba would react. He was pretty sensitive,  and he did remember the angel talking about his wings the day before. The priest once again looked over at Kuro, but his nose was in the book. Fit now, he decided to observe the two.

"Shouldn't I be the one reading that?" Aoba said with a soft smile before standing up straight.

Kuro's body is still thrumming from Aoba admitting his faith in the demon when he asks about being the one who should be reading the book. He glances up and gives the angel a warms smile. His expression doesn't change when he notices that Aoba's wings are a slight shade darker, he being the source behind the corruption he has been keeping a close eye on their color. Kuro lets out a soft sigh and Gerard stands completely still, not wanting to break the spell on the room by drawing attention to himself. “Well, you should read it too, yes, but nowhere does it say that I can't re-read it first Little Mouse.” He sticks his tongue out playfully before once more the priest catches his attention by no fault of his own.

With a huff Kuro turns around and plops on to his side once more, propping to book up against the back of the couch. Gerard lets out a slightly disappointed sigh, having wanted to watch a little longer, but he lets the feeling pass as he looks to Aoba with an easy smile. “He really seems interested in helping you. That's good. And by his demonic aura I'd say he's a pretty tough hellspawn. I think you should be safe.” He points towards the book Kuro is thumbing through. “That is just a book of beginner basics. There is a small library in town with a lot more books on farming, but that one there is the basics you need to know about soil care and the like. For now that's the most important part. Once the tools come in, you can have your big strong demon here teach you how to use them. After all, he should know how they work if he's “Re-reading” that particular book.”

Kuro snorts and rolls his eyes, muttering something nonsensical Gerard chuckles but before he can say any more the demon speaks up. “So, what kinds of animals are being dropped off? He at least needs some chickens. . .”
