((I changed Chris' job for a plot point.))
The sun began to set on the river just like it always did. It rose and seemed to predict a beautiful day in the city of New York. People moved in all directions as the city began to move with some speed. Well the city was always moving like this. Just that afternoons all seemed to be special. Thousands of stories began here and ended here. It was a beautiful thing is you really thought about it.
Chris did not think so. He thought it was a strange and down right sad city. All these things could be happening and who cared? It was just one person in however million. He in the grand scheme of things did not matter honestly. He was having another one of his introspective moments. He could have had a plain job working in some cubicle. He had instead bed born into the life of money. Into the life of power and control, a gilded cage. Most people wanted what he had and he wanted out of it. He still had his hobbies to keep him going at least. He sat in his office in the family office and looked bored. Father never gave him anything to do.
His phone chirped and he pressed his Bluetooth headset to answer it. "Hello?" He asked his accent slightly sounding New York but not quite. "Christopher, darling. " A female voice cooed over his ears. It was his mother. "I'm just calling to remind you of the gala tomorrow." Her voice was saying he had better be there or else. "I'll be there ,mother. I wouldn't miss it. " Chris said wanting to get out of the office. "I had your suit sent to you. Good bye, dear." His mother said hanging up quickly. Chris sighed and walked home. He lived rather close. There had been strange weather patterns by his apartment. Nothing important though. Chris took off his tie and other clothes above his waist once he was inside. It was his custom. He walked around his apartment and had no idea what to do now.
