In a fairytale-esque world, there is a legend of a town in which many nekomimi (cat-persons, essentially) live. In this town, collars are a very important symbol to the nekomimi, as they hold a certain significance pertaining to their relationships.
This RP takes place in the forest village mentioned in the story. It is a peaceful place, normally, but the woods can hold many dangers, especially as of late. Bandits, kidnappers, and unfriendly beasts are rumored to have been encountered further in, so it is advised that the people exercise caution when going outside the town.
1. All basic RolePlayerGuild rules apply. If you don’t know them reasonably well, please go check them.
2. Do not take control of other people’s characters. I have seen this become a problem way too many times.
3. While it is not required for collars to be directly returned after being removed, it is required that humans be given a chance to get them back. Attempts to destroy hearts may happen, but it is up to the human’s player whether or not they actually do take damage or break.
4. No murder without approval. That means that you need to get permission from other people if you want to kill off their characters. Attacking is fine, but let them react.
5. Please don’t fight in the OOC. Take things to the PMs to be worked out.
6. I know this is a romance RP, but any particularly mature scenes should be taken to the PMs. If you’re going farther than the kisses and cuddles, fade to black and come back when you’re done. If anything important to the story happens, please fill us in without giving those details.
7. Don’t do any instant romance, please; take some time to nurture your relationships. Finding a partner is about half the battle, so I can almost guarantee you’ll be bored quickly if you skip this.
8. No txt lingo. I won’t be strict with spelling, grammar, or word count as long as people can understand what you are typing reasonably well.
9. I will give people warnings if they overstep any boundaries, but after a certain number of offenses, often depending on the severity and whether or not they are repeated or fixed, I will get rid of people. My decision is final on this. Co-GMs will also have this authority.

I know it’s a lot of rules, but I just want to make sure that people know what is expected of them. If you have read them and understand, please put the number of the “murder” rule somewhere in your CS in bold print. (It says the word clearly in the rule.)
1. The magical properties of the jewels are caused by human emotion, love for the possessor being the one that allows the neko to actively use magic.
2. The abilities a neko may unlock with these jewels are only a few in number, although there are both passive and active magics that may be unlocked.
3. After a certain amount of time with the jewels - this is different for each couple depending on the person and when the collar was gifted - the neko develops a certain sense specifically for the human they received the jewel from. This sense allows the neko to be able to tell when the human is in danger, as well as a few other things I will determine later, but is by no means a way to use active telepathy. It may allow a human and a neko to act more in sync, however.
4. Collars must be removed to destroy hearts. This means that all characters in danger of having their hearts destroyed do have a chance to take back the collar before an untimely demise. I can't have people dying all over the place. (This will be posted in the official rules, too.)
5. Magic can only be used by nekomimi while they are wearing the collar. They may use any physical abilities without it, but magic only happens when a bond is struck.
6. The magicks that can be used through the hearts depend on the human. The strength of the magic and ability a neko has with it depends on the mutual love between the two. So yes, a neko will have trouble using magic if the feelings toward the human falter, fade, or simply do not exist. Also, if a human gives a heart to a neko without feeling any love toward them, not only is that a very stupid idea, but no magic will be activated.
7. Collar magic is not limited to attack magicks, but only a certain number of magicks may be used, and they must be determined by the human. I suggest you come up with a strategy for the magics you come up with. Also, if a human manages to switch lovers, they may exchange one magical ability for another to match their new relationship. Should a human return to a previous lover, however, they are stuck with the previous magicks they used with them before.
8. Collars can neither be forced on or off anyone.
Traditionally, a nekomimi is in charge of defending the couple and/or eventual family while the human is in charge of providing for them. This is not exactly necessary for a relationship, though, as the two may switch off between roles whenever they feel it is practical for them. This only really became a tradition in the past because of the defensive abilities a "claimed" nekomimi develops from using the collar. A human may defend nekomimi, though they may not be able to use magic. Likewise, a neko is considered perfectly capable of providing for or assisting in the providing for a partner and/or family. They may even be able to use their magic to help out with this.
If you want to give your characters weapons, feel free to list them in the CS. Weapons will only be allowed for humans, though.

Personality: Very Friendly and a bit out there. He's usually kind and caring about his surroundings. He's a bit of a klutz but makes up for it by a wide smile. No matter the situation, he usually takes it on with happiness and joy. He tends to keep the bad things inside, and never allows others to shoulder his pain. He is very protective of his older sister, and treats her like a younger sister. in which she acts like one.
Bio: When he was young, his mother got really sick, and so his father left with her to get her help. Saying that he would be alright on his own, and so they were raised by there grandparents. With this, his older sister became a little to open about the situation. As he grew however, he became more caring for the family he had left with him. He knew that at any time he could write to his parents. but for some strange reason he never did.
He learned the family heritage of growing herbs, and fishing out of the river for food when they hadn't any money to fend for themselves. Eventually, his grandparents died, and he found himself taking care of his older sister. It was mostly a quiet life, till humans entered the town.

She sometimes acts like a big shot but really she's a scaredy cat.

Personality: Ion is a generally passive kitty who doesn't get angry even when a situation calls for it. He tends to forgive more than he apologizes, which says something about the aura about him. In general, Ion is a happy fellow that enjoys the company of others- obsessively so. It's painfully clear from the way his ears and tail droops that he gets lonely quite easily, and when with good company is very clingy in a touchy-feely sort of way. There are periods of time (usually during warmer seasons) where Ion is more easily distracted than usual.

Job: Full time part timer- He works here and there for some people, sometimes as the gardener at that one shop or the fishmonger at the other. At the moment he helps out at a small restaurant as a chef as well as a babysitter for two families. Sometimes he also goes to a nearby college but honestly he's not supposed to because he's not an actual student.
Family/Friends/Relationships: His family is scattered throughout the city and he doesn't live with any of them. The second to youngest of seven, he kinda got to do whatever the hell he wanted, the parents busy with the baby and the older, more troublesome sisters.

Bio: He lost his parents when he was still fairly young after a bandit attack in the woods, but inherited the bakery they owned and has been working there for a few years now. He actually found Alex as a three-year-old hiding in the forest and took him in since he also seemed to have lost his parents somehow. Alex himself was never really sure what happened, and doesn’t seem to remember much about the incident other than being alone for hours.

Bio: Alex has been an orphan since he was three, when he lost his parents in the forest. He doesn’t remember exactly what happened to them, though he did remember being alone for more than a few hours before Nero found him.

A playful "knave". Weston can often been seen as playful, sneaky and very resourceful. He is very social and is known for being fond of "old customs". Despite his playful outer core, he can be quite cold and on the inside, is struggling with a strong sense of self-hatred. He has a good time hiding his emotions, even when he's near people he is close with. He can be described as "a bit of a dork" and is fond of friendships (meaning he will probably make some) and is very considerate and caring for others, despite not showing it.

Weston has been a drifter within the village for sometime. Never knew who his parents were, but it's believed that they are still in the village somewhere -- though he highly doubts it. He doesn't care much for family aside from his adopted older sister who he occasionally goes to see.

At her worst, She is a reclusive shut-in who will take out her angst on the sorry soul who points it out.
Bio: Toccoa grew up an only child with a simple home to entertain her. She loved to run around town and explore, quickly getting a job as courier which she has maintained since she was 13. As she grew, so did her range of land to walk. After seeing some terrible crimes deep into the forest on one occassion, and narrowly escaping such an act, she avoids the area and has told no one what or why.

Active Abilities – Argo can hide himself behind a small radius of a barrier that confuses any outsider into exiting right after entering. Sort of like a maze, but with only air blocking your way, and you don't really feel yourself being forcefully ejected until you're out of the barrier. He's also able to change his voice- from birds chirping to a woman. (He's not actually changing his voice, others just get messages in their brain that the soundwaves are different)

Personality: Argo is a generally upbeat, cheerful and loud individual. Partner’s Magic : The ability to control plants, to tie down others at the cost of how the plant is if it's a vine it travels along the ground walls and floor and can get you things to tie up the enemy. Pumpkin and other types of ground plants help with storing items you can carry, if they fit in the plant.
Activate Abilities : Velion can use plants to store things she finds dear to her. She also can manipulate objects such non living things to her advantage at battles and other things that would physically hurt her.
Passive Ability : Quicker and more agile on dirt and grass then paved roads and sidewalks. Heals faster when sits or lays in total nature.

-The heart is brownish in color, and is almost as light as sand. Often times, the heart would spawn small amounts of sand at any random time. The heart is a representation of Zakir's hardships in the desert; that no matter how much he tries to forget the pain, it would always leak out.
Partner’s Magic: Jihad- The user is freed from all limitations of the body; including physical, emotional, and psychological limits. Meaning, the body can exert more than 200% of the capacity; even increasing regeneration. With this, a fragile creature can lift an object many times the weight. The obvious downside would be the body itself. The person can exert more effort but it doesn't mean that the body can actually manage it; the body is practically forcing itself to do something it couldn't have done. Common side effects such as soreness, extreme fatigue, and extreme pain can be felt once Jihad wears off.
Active Abilities:
Hajj- Zakir can create sand portals anywhere; assuming he has seen that place. He can create up to two portals that are connected to one another. This means that he can create a sand portal at point A, and a sand portal at Point B. He can then go inside portal A to reach Point B.
Zakat- Zakir can transfer his own life force to heal minor injuries, and to an extent, major injuries to another person in the form of sand particles. It should be noted that this ability only works from Zakir's mouth which means he can only transfer it orally.
Passive Ability: Sawm- Zakir's regeneration increases when bathed in sand.
Romantic Preference: Exploration Needed
Personality: Zakir has been raised in a harsh situation; causing his true self to be masked by a mixture of scorn, doubt, and hostility. Zakir often bickers with other people, and rarely offers his trust. In addition, he doesn't like commitment or promises, and therefore, he hates having friends or relationships. He is not seclusive, but he isn't an open book either.

Taylor doesn't care for the collar in which her gem is held, considering she doesn't care about fashion at all, however, she does have a certain "taste" for most things that are exquisite. Blood Magic – Similar to Taylor's ability, Hemokinesis, her partner will be able to manipulate the usage of their blood. They can use it to heal or defend themselves, but it rarely has an offensive advantage.
Active Abilities
- Force Field: Being a Bounty Hunter is a dangerous job, especially when on the field, so having an ability like Force Field is extremely helpful. Taylor is able to create a force field around herself and anyone within a three foot radius for about thirty seconds on average.
- Hemokinesis: In the case of being injured on the field and as long as Taylor doesn't take a hit to the head or heart, she is able to draw any blood that she spills (this ONLY works when she is bleeding) and use it for defensive or offensive purposes, however, her Hemokinesis does not allow her to heal as easily.
Passive Ability
- Marksmanship: A passive ability that increases the speed of Taylor's average shots by 15% and increases her average accuracy by 25% when using a revolver or pistol.

Swings towards males, but has never been in an actual relationship: she can be very open-minded.
Personality
A snide, snarky and sarcastic woman. She's extremely independent and self-reliant as well as a bit of a lone wolf. Despite her stand-offish personality, she can be extremely compassionate and has a soft spot for kids. Taylor doesn't like to admit it, but she's a hopeless romantic at heart, despite never having an actual love of her own. Her personality also falls under the categories such as unorganized, messy and even a little disastrous. She has the tendency to fail at the most basic of tasks and has a bit of a difficult time socializing as well (despite the fact that she can actually be very sociable). She's good at hiding her emotions for the most part, but is often swayed and manipulated by them, she also has a strong sense of empathy for the people around her. Her empathy can cause her to act strangely under different circumstances, whether it is to pick up a defensive stance, become extremely angry or serious. Aside from her empathetic nature, she is cool-headed and reserved, but extremely impatient. Other parts of her personality include a mouth equal to a sailor's, a dry sense of humor, the fear of failure and a sense of grudge.

Most of Taylor's past is a mystery. It is known that she is an ex-outlaw, turned "good" to a rough-tough Bounty Hunter. She only came across the village recently, but has become immensely interested in it and the thought of staying for a while has gotten her attention.

Eventually, humans also began living in the town. For some mysterious reason, upon entering, a magical jewel is generated for each human that enters the town. This jewel can come in a multitude of shapes and colors, and the size may vary slightly, though all of them are still fairly small (only a few centimeters in any direction - this is very important due to their function). When given to a nekomimi, this strange item can awaken inner powers and allow them to use magic. Using this, a human and a neko may become a powerful duo and maybe make even miracles happen, but beware! These jewels hold a powerful secret, one that can easily save or destroy a human life:
These jewels are the manifestation of a human's heart.
All of the emotions a human may feel connect to the power in these precious stones, and similarly, all the love a human feels becomes the magic energy that both protects the nekomimi in possession of it and gives them the option of protecting the human from whom the jewel was received from. The downside to this is that, should anything happen to that jewel, the crystallized heart of that human, the consequences will be devastating.

This RP takes place in the forest village mentioned in the story. It is a peaceful place, normally, but the woods can hold many dangers, especially as of late. Bandits, kidnappers, and unfriendly beasts are rumored to have been encountered further in, so it is advised that the people exercise caution when going outside the town.
1. All basic RolePlayerGuild rules apply. If you don’t know them reasonably well, please go check them.
2. Do not take control of other people’s characters. I have seen this become a problem way too many times.
3. While it is not required for collars to be directly returned after being removed, it is required that humans be given a chance to get them back. Attempts to destroy hearts may happen, but it is up to the human’s player whether or not they actually do take damage or break.
4. No murder without approval. That means that you need to get permission from other people if you want to kill off their characters. Attacking is fine, but let them react.
5. Please don’t fight in the OOC. Take things to the PMs to be worked out.
6. I know this is a romance RP, but any particularly mature scenes should be taken to the PMs. If you’re going farther than the kisses and cuddles, fade to black and come back when you’re done. If anything important to the story happens, please fill us in without giving those details.
7. Don’t do any instant romance, please; take some time to nurture your relationships. Finding a partner is about half the battle, so I can almost guarantee you’ll be bored quickly if you skip this.

I know it’s a lot of rules, but I just want to make sure that people know what is expected of them. If you have read them and understand, please put the number of the “murder” rule somewhere in your CS in bold print. (It says the word clearly in the rule.)
1. The magical properties of the jewels are caused by human emotion, love for the possessor being the one that allows the neko to actively use magic.
2. The abilities a neko may unlock with these jewels are only a few in number, although there are both passive and active magics that may be unlocked.
3. After a certain amount of time with the jewels - this is different for each couple depending on the person and when the collar was gifted - the neko develops a certain sense specifically for the human they received the jewel from. This sense allows the neko to be able to tell when the human is in danger, as well as a few other things I will determine later, but is by no means a way to use active telepathy. It may allow a human and a neko to act more in sync, however.
4. Collars must be removed to destroy hearts. This means that all characters in danger of having their hearts destroyed do have a chance to take back the collar before an untimely demise. I can't have people dying all over the place. (This will be posted in the official rules, too.)
5. Magic can only be used by nekomimi while they are wearing the collar. They may use any physical abilities without it, but magic only happens when a bond is struck.
6. The magicks that can be used through the hearts depend on the human. The strength of the magic and ability a neko has with it depends on the mutual love between the two. So yes, a neko will have trouble using magic if the feelings toward the human falter, fade, or simply do not exist. Also, if a human gives a heart to a neko without feeling any love toward them, not only is that a very stupid idea, but no magic will be activated.
7. Collar magic is not limited to attack magicks, but only a certain number of magicks may be used, and they must be determined by the human. I suggest you come up with a strategy for the magics you come up with. Also, if a human manages to switch lovers, they may exchange one magical ability for another to match their new relationship. Should a human return to a previous lover, however, they are stuck with the previous magicks they used with them before.
8. Collars can neither be forced on or off anyone.
Traditionally, a nekomimi is in charge of defending the couple and/or eventual family while the human is in charge of providing for them. This is not exactly necessary for a relationship, though, as the two may switch off between roles whenever they feel it is practical for them. This only really became a tradition in the past because of the defensive abilities a "claimed" nekomimi develops from using the collar. A human may defend nekomimi, though they may not be able to use magic. Likewise, a neko is considered perfectly capable of providing for or assisting in the providing for a partner and/or family. They may even be able to use their magic to help out with this.

Bio: When he was young, his mother got really sick, and so his father left with her to get her help. Saying that he would be alright on his own, and so they were raised by there grandparents. -The heart is brownish in color, and is almost as light as sand. Often times, the heart would spawn small amounts of sand at any random time. The heart is a representation of Zakir's hardships in the desert; that no matter how much he tries to forget the pain, it would always leak out.
Partner’s Magic: Jihad- The user is freed from all limitations of the body; including physical, emotional, and psychological limits. Meaning, the body can exert more than 200% of the capacity; even increasing regeneration. With this, a fragile creature can lift an object many times the weight. The obvious downside would be the body itself. The person can exert more effort but it doesn't mean that the body can actually manage it; the body is practically forcing itself to do something it couldn't have done. Common side effects such as soreness, extreme fatigue, and extreme pain can be felt once Jihad wears off.
Active Abilities:
Hajj- Zakir can create sand portals anywhere; assuming he has seen that place. He can create up to two portals that are connected to one another. This means that he can create a sand portal at point A, and a sand portal at Point B. He can then go inside portal A to reach Point B.
Zakat- Zakir can transfer his own life force to heal minor injuries, and to an extent, major injuries to another person in the form of sand particles. It should be noted that this ability only works from Zakir's mouth which means he can only transfer it orally.
Passive Ability: Sawm- Zakir's regeneration increases when bathed in sand.

- Hemokinesis: In the case of being injured on the field and as long as Taylor doesn't take a hit to the head or heart, she is able to draw any blood that she spills (this ONLY works when she is bleeding) and use it for defensive or offensive purposes, however, her Hemokinesis does not allow her to heal as easily.

Personality
A snide, snarky and sarcastic woman. She's extremely independent and self-reliant as well as a bit of a lone wolf. Despite her stand-offish personality, she can be extremely compassionate and has a soft spot for kids. Taylor doesn't like to admit it, but she's a hopeless romantic at heart, despite never having an actual love of her own. Her personality also falls under the categories such as unorganized, messy and even a little disastrous. She has the tendency to fail at the most basic of tasks and has a bit of a difficult time socializing as well (despite the fact that she can actually be very sociable). She's good at hiding her emotions for the most part, but is often swayed and manipulated by them, she also has a strong sense of empathy for the people around her. Her empathy can cause her to act strangely under different circumstances, whether it is to pick up a defensive stance, become extremely angry or serious. Aside from her empathetic nature, she is cool-headed and reserved, but extremely impatient. Other parts of her personality include a mouth equal to a sailor's, a dry sense of humor, the fear of failure and a sense of grudge.
Biography
Most of Taylor's past is a mystery. It is known that she is an ex-outlaw, turned "good" to a rough-tough Bounty Hunter. She only came across the village recently, but has become immensely interested in it and the thought of staying for a while has gotten her attention.

Freelance Bounty Hunter. She's considering settling down with an actual job, but isn't quite aware of her skills yet.
Other
Taylor has expressed an interest for music. She has also mentioned her love for "helping others" indicating that she is a very protective type of person. She loves to read, especially romance novels and has expressed a finer taste for exquisite culture, despite her "rough" ways. It is unknown whether or not she has living relatives.
