It's magic... It doesn't cancel out that easily..
It's like the episode where levy and gajeel are fighting the two grimoire heart members and one of them uses their eastern solid script magic to make a loud screech but it doesn't cancel out even when he made another thing with solid script. Levy had to use her solid script to silence his in the end. Thus making the magic continue until either the user stops it or outside forces take handle of it.

Also, like Kitty said I think that's a thing. You release magic, but you don't necessarily have to be directly connected to it at all times. Sound is a wave; therefore I don't think you need to continuously emit it once it's released. Or something like that. Technical stuph hurts my small brain. ;_;

Ummm... Water magic? Ice magic? Ice might be cool. Good for making body doubles, stealing, protecting... Seems like it'd fit him. And we need an Ice mage for Iggy to fight with >.>
Lightning magic would work to. You could do nearly everything Laxus does since a majority of the spells he uses are Lightning magic and not Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic.
Both i've said so far actually fit very well with your character.

Well poo. As much as I hate having elemental magic, you make a damn good point. I guess he'll be an ice mage of some kind...but really, I don't know if I wanna just make him an Ice-Make mage, or come up with a new ice magic.

Maybe. Maybe one of those, because I'd rather do anything than just go with one element. I like being flexible with things my character can do.
Also wouldn't Palm Magic just do exactly what Ripple Magic does anyway?
...Would Barrier magic be alright?

I'm gonna say no to Barrier magic because if it's the same thing I looked up than isn't it kind of lethal to everyone good or bad around the user when they use it? Pretty dangerous lol XD

you want something that you can be creative with and have room to grow with potential and the like. I think maybe... Copy Magic? Gives you fair room... Won't be able to go overboard... You can have fun with it for the most part. I don't think Kitty would mind.

EDIT: Dark Ecriture is one of my personal favorites. Runes and what not can be fun and stuff.

I don't really like the idea of Copy Magic, mainly because if he had that, he'd just have to touch the Antagonist and basically level the playing field with no real effort.
Also fudge, read up on the barrier stuff, what the heck man?

WHY ARE BARRIER PARTICLES POISON? I meant more like shields, but meh...bad juju.
Also I don't really fully understand Dark Ecriture's limitations. For all I know, it could be as simple as writing out: "Dead" and then have the opponent just drop dead.
Was thinking maybe Re-Equip, but the only really cool one is armor, and I know that's rare.

Is it cool if he can throw them like a wave cutter, and that he has to be within a certain range to maintain the barriers? Like say, 40 feet?

That seems doable. I mean it wouldn't be the first time barriers were used in such a way. And lets say 30 feet. And the range and size of barriers can grow as the RP goes on I think.
