Sci-FI/present times alien invasion

Ok so i stole this idea form a friend *quickly looks over shoudler to make sure he's not there* and i wanted to see if people would like to put it into an rp and make it better!


Setting:
An ancient alien race forced from their home planet, Earth, comes back to reclaim whats 'theirs' but a group of close teenage friends dont like that idea and make a somewhat resistance. It starts with them meeting up for a planned event and when the alien invasion arrives they go into hiding and make small hit and runs and then become badarses saving the world from utter defeat.

So for this one i would like just a max of 12 so yeah!

I love creating an endearing heroic character only to kill them off and cause a deep wound in everyone's morale.

Oh my gosh I'm turning into Stephen Moffat.

Anyway. If we're fighting back against massively powerful aliens, we should have some means of not getting our butts kicked right away. Perhaps it's something that could be stolen from them, maybe we can find allies in another alien race (there could be other species). A general plan can turn into a good plot, but it will need help.

Though there would need to be a training period where the kids learn to use guns. They're not going to pick em up and instantly know how to use them, right OP?

I dunno, I pretty much know how to handle a handgun from all the video games I've played, and I've never actually held one IRL. I could reasonably see my Char having the same kind of experience.

Though accuracy would be an entirely different story.
