I went in to take my road exam earlier today. I was super nervous, but I had aced my independent drive in drivers ed (which had everything from the road exam on it plus more) and I spent the last few nights driving around practicing parks.
And the road test was going fine until I had to do my parallel at the end. Out of the dozens of parallel parks I have done before my exam, I have probably only been unsuccessful 3 times while I was initially learning how to preform the maneuver. I'm usually great at them. In my road exam I bumped the curb while doing the parallel in my first two attempts, and parked a couple centimetres too far away from the curb on my final attempt (lined up directly behind the vehicle in front of me, mind you). So automatic fail. If I got it on the first try, I would have had 50 points, and you don't fail until you hit 75 (or get an automatic). Even with my unsuccessful attempts I still scored a 70 but I got that freaking automatic.
I'm going to retake it in Sherwood Park instead this weekend, but I still feel like shit.
