Name: Sabuit 'Sabi' Aleaniryn
Race: Dunmer
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Birthsign: The Thief
Sabuit stands at 5 feet and 11 inches tall, or 178 cm in metric. She has long dark purple/black hair that falls to her mid-back, and rarely wears it by any style other than straight and unconstrained by ponytails or braids. Her frame is slim, but toned, similar to that of perhaps a swimmer, though she remains a 'shapely' sort of girl, who would probably be considered quite attractive by most races' standards.
Equipment:
- Sabi's main weapon is a 6ft longbow crafted from a single piece of yew wood and lacquered black. It is strung with horsehair and is usually paired with a quiver of steel-tipped arrows for maximum effectiveness.
- Sabuit's backup weapon is a straight-bladed steel sword that she had taken from an unwary traveller who she ambushed and killed during her travels across Tamriel. Though Sabuit hates melee combat and will try to avoid it if possible, she is at least competent with a sword and can defend herself until either she retreats to a more advantageous position or backup arrives. Sabuit's melee style is more defensive in nature and focuses on parrying and avoiding attacks and exploiting openings for quick, disabling strikes.
- Sabuit's general apparel is designed to allow her to blend into the shadows where at all possible. She often wears a black cloth hood to cover her head and to keep herself dry in the rain and snow, and sometimes wears a black mesh veil across her face to keep her identity hidden when necessary. She also usually wears a heavy black cloak to protect herself from the elements and to better hide herself in areas of darkness. She wears a dark brown or black leather coat and leggings, with a black cloth shirt underneath the leather coat, and black leather boots to keep her feet warm and dry.
Skills: One-Handed, Archery, Stealth, Light Armour, Destruction, Restoration, Acrobatics
Personality:
Sabi is a quiet girl. Never one to overreact to situations, she can appear cold and even heartless to some outsiders who don't understand her way of thinking. She speaks seldom, and is very awkward in social situations - she does not mingle with people well and finds it hard to keep with conversations. To others, it seems that Sabi is just a quiet, hard-hearted and cold-blooded killer.
However, Sabuit has an alternate side to her that is rarely seen. To her truest friends, Sabuit is kind, gentle and generous and she is far more able to hold conversations with people who she knows and trusts with her life. She is approachable and caring to those she can trust and who she considers to be friends of hers.
Background:
Sabuit Aleaniryn was born to minor Dunmer nobles, Vierinissa and Garan, in the city of Blacklight in the province of Morrowind. She is the younger sibling of Aurelia and an elder sibling to Kareia and Nareia, who are twins. Sabuit's parents are of a minor noble house who are loyal to House Redoran and who serve as soldiers for the House during times of war - Vierinissa and Garan are particularly brutal warriors, who instilled their martial prowess in their children as best they could. With Aurelia, it was as simple as leading a horse to water - naturally martially-minded, Aurelia quickly learned the skills necessary for combat. The case was less clear-cut for Sabuit, who held a disdain for melee combat and who preferred to read, practice archery or to swim than to train with swords in hand-to-hand combat. A more bookish and reserved woman, Sabuit could often be found reading a book on poetry or a play. Though this disappointed her parents to a degree, they nonetheless fostered this academic talent by encouraging her to take up magic, which she duly did, putting her thirst for knowledge and for reading to work. Sabuit, though not exactly a superb magician, is nonetheless capable with magic of the Destruction and Restoration varieties.
However, Sabuit's main proficiencies were with the bow. An accomplished archer from an early age, Sabuit's skill, it has been said by those who have fought with her, rivals that of some Bosmer, though Sabi herself denies such a thing and claims she 'gets lucky with a shot here and there' and that she is no better than a typical archer who has undergone training with the weapon. Sabuit, as well as honing her archery skills, trained in sword combat (against her better judgement, she maintains) in order to defend herself in close combat, but she never really took to swords like she took to the bow. Her swordplay was cautious, defensive, almost overly so, and try as her parents could, they could not swerve her from her style. It proved useful enough, however, so it didn't matter, all things considered.
Though her childhood and adolescence were marked by strict martial training, Sabuit's early adult life has been one of travel and exploration. She didn't really care overly for the day-to-day life of Blacklight, and as a result she left with her parents' blessing at the age of 19, and she set out to learn more about the world first-hand. However, by some twist of fate, she ended up, after 2 years or so on the road travelling all over Tamriel and eking out a living on the road as a mercenary, or as a guard-for-hire, in some den of iniquity and piracy known as Khenarthi's Roost.
