It was the first time for a while that the pain had dulled. She could stand, now, even walk. It had been... she lost count. She really had entirely lost count of how long she had been unable to move. It wasn't as if she had been trying in the first place, though. The bandages weren't ready to be removed, not yet. It would take somewhat longer, at least a day or two more, until they could be removed from her head and arm. She did not feel any dislike for the bandages that adorned her body. They were there so that she could continue to function until no longer needed. If required of her, she would remove them even if it was not yet time. If not, they would remain in place. She was, however, required to attend the testing that would begin later. The Second and Third Child would be there, at the very least, she was told... so it was required for her to attend.
There was little curiosity in her... she would simply need to work with them. It was required of her. And yet... there was any curiosity. It was strange and perplexing to her, She didn't quite know why she was curious, but she was and that was that.
Ayanami Rei glanced to the glasses that lay beside her bed. She had not left the medical ward yet. The glasses were cracked, and inside her Rei felt... unusual conflict over how she retained them. There were many things Rei questioned about herself, but now was not the time to contemplate them. She would report as soon as possible. The blue-haired girl rose to her feet and left the room.
The day was wearing on for the students at Tokyo-3 First Municipal Middle School. Specifically in class 2-A. The extremely elderly teacher was going on in great depth about the Second Impact, which wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't something he did every day. At the moment he was going on about how it was the duty of the students to build the future. The same thing he went on about every day. Every. Single. Day. It was a wonder even the blue-haired Ayanami Rei managed to do well in this class. Speaking of which, she was absent... she'd been absent for days. Some of the students claimed that it was something to do with how she seemed to stare at people sometimes, and others said it was the same thing that had happened to some boy in the past...
Whatever the case, there was quite a stir when news that a NERV van had pulled up outside of the school reached the classroom.
