Gender

Personality
______
Leon, at first, appears to be a calm, level-headed young man who has the drive and leadership to lead the group. To someone who does not know him, he would seem to be very intelligent, kind and friendly, full to the brim of self-control. This, however, is not the full picture. Leon is stubborn, volatile and easily manipulated in certain situations. Due to mental demons that have plagued him ever since his mother's passing, he can change in seconds from a bold, strong leader to being a weak, confused boy who is of no use to anyone. He often has mood swings, which can bring him from one extreme to another- occasionally, he can be very violent - if someone really hits a nerve, he'll stop at nothing to rip their head off. On other occasions he can be very low to the point where he can only sit and think to himself. Sometimes, his mood swings will throw him in to bouts of energy that will ultimately swing down to a low.
History
______
Leonardo was born in Barcelona, Spain to a Middle-Class family. His father wrote psychological books and his mother worked at a local book shop. Leonardo rarely spoke with his father, but spent a lot of time with his mother, who he loved dearly. He and his two brothers were never too close, due to quite a significant age gap between them. When he was 5, he and his family relocated to Los Angelese, California, where he spent a large chunk of his upbringing. He grew to love the city, though when he was about 12, they relocated again, due to his father's desire to live in a much less populated area. They moved to Midcreek, a town where the wildlife was scenic and the area was peaceful, but the houses were relatively cheap due to a large gas company nearby. Despite his love for L.A., Leon quickly settled down in Midcreek, befriending a boy of his age named Benjamin. The two were inseperable, and usually stuck together rather than with bigger groups. Benjamin was rougher and meaner than Leon, so, naturally, Leon was toughened up by being in the presence of him, but he vowed to always keep his friendly nature, because of this, he became very popular and he and Benjamin slowly drifted apart.
When Leon was 15, he lost his mother when she had a heart attack. He found it extremely difficult to deal with and could no longer keep his popular status. He moved away from the big crowds and returned to Benjamin and his crowd, a group of troublemakers who would often get in to trouble with local police due to a range of crimes such as possession of drugs, theft and vandalism. His grades dropped, his reputation dropped and his health fluctuated, and he could honestly not give a damn. He began to experience some mental issues at this time.
When he was 18, he and Benjamin got in to serious trouble when they were caught smoking a joint behind the school. They were both kicked out of school for the remainder of the year including the school prom, which Leon would have probably gone to, but he wasn't exactly heartbroken to learn he would not be able to attend it. He and Benjamin remained together, spending most of their time in the local park for the next few weeks. That's where they were around the time the gas factory exploded. Benjamin rushed back to find his family, but Leon stood firm in his tracks, frozen by what he had just seen. When he finally decided to go and join Benjamin, he witnessed, from a distance, Benjamin getting shot. He turned on his heel and ran.
