For some time the Kings daughter had been missing, kidnapped by the dragon. Many heroes had gone to try and save his daughter but with no success. All the best heroes were hidden, not coming forward. Of course, the best always did need some convincing. The king sent out his men to put up posters for a reward of 10,000 gold pieces to any person who is able to return his daughter to him. The guards made sure it was well known that the king wanted his daughter back, and that he was willing to give anything to have that. The poster spoke of a gathering at the king's court so that he might meet the heroes who would be taking on this journey. The meeting would be at the end of the month so that word could spread through out all the land to both Tarna and Vragnok. Now all he could do was wait for his heroes to arrive.

Alexander help put up all the posters all over the city. Alex was planning on joining the group in the court on that eventful night, because he was bored with the job he was given in the army. Alex kept an eye on the date as he did his usual guard duties.

The stable master strained his meager arithmetic at the abacus, then turned, shaking at the prospect of such profit, to Dadurch:

"A horse, two mules; tack for all, and a cart. That will be four hundred and ten ounces, gold.", he giddily relayed to the dwarf.

Nonplussed, Dadurch reached into his treasure pouch and laid an EverTurnip and an onyx broach on the stablemaster's table.
"The turnip's magic, as long as you don't eat the stem it regrows each day at dawn. The gem's the dowry for an orcish princess. Or at least it was going to be."

The stablehand's demeanor immediately soured and he stiffened his work-wearied back. "Even if I was some peasant you could boondoggle with that rubbish, the gem's worth no more than 300 ounces. The vegetable perhaps 15. You're eighty short."

Dadurch was momentarily caught off guard by the burgher's extraordinary cunning, but managed to not skip a beat as he produced a folded parchment from his laced sleeve. He tossed the notice, folded in quarters, onto the table, then folded his hands over his belly. The stablemaster glowered at the dwarf as he picked up the parchment and unfolded it. He threw it down almost as soon as he had it opened.

"You're a damnable idiot if you think you can pay me with gold that's going to stay locked up in the King's treasury. Greater men than you have already thrown their lives away for his lost heir."

"Greater men? Maybe. No greater dwarves, though. Who's the last dwarf you knew who'd throw his life away on something he wasn't sure of?", Dadurch replied.

The stablemaster set aside his incredulity in the interest of salvaging some business that day. "Do you know what? Give me the broach, you get a mule and a cart. You can have the rest AND my cousin braethwen if you come back with the princess. And take your turnip, who would ever want such a stupid thing?".

Dadurch grinned broadly as he hitched his new mule to his new cart. Now all that was left to meet a king and rescue a princess. Simple.

Syre stood on the wooden floor of his home, his father before him, the disdain on both of their faces was clearly evident.

"For the last time, the spirits have destined you for great things, Daiedallynn, and so, by orders from your mother and I, you will go after the damned princess, or face immortal judgement and suffering." Syre's father had great plans for his son, and would not let him off from this opportunity.

"Father, It has been 45 years since the incident you seem to call a sign from the gods, so can you stop with the whole destiny thing?" Syre wanted nothing to do with his fathers ideals. though, there was always a chance of persuasion.

"Alright, I guess you have forced this on me, but, if you do this, I will stop bothering you, you can use the sacred staff, and you can have these when you come back" After throwing the staff of Vynndrijl, Syre's father held up a pair of books. One was a spellbook, which tempted Syre enough, while the other book, which was wrapped in leather, and held shut with a magic lock, was a book that only the men of the family could enjoy. (It is exactly what you think)

"Fine, but I want to take the Yllryjinic arcanist's guide with me." Syre was a sucker for knowledge, and well, who could resist that second book?

"Alright then." Syre's father turned around, calling the rest of the family over. "It seems that Daiedallynn will be going to rescue the princess!" Syre's family cheered, as Syre took the spellbook (Yllryjinic arcanist's guide) and the staff to his small home, so he could get ready for the journey, and the meeting with the king.

Nao's eyes fluttered open by the promise of gold nearby. "Did you hear? The princess was kidnapped, and the king's offering 10,000 gold coins for whoever saves her." The faint words of the enthusiastic travelers outside of the hallow tree trunk Nao called home caught her attention briefly, but she sighed and looked upon the rusted knife in her hand soon afterwards.

'Even if the money is enticing, I bet it's not something I can handle considering the king's asking the entire damn kingdom', the young marauder thought to herself. 'Might as well just wait for the 'heroes' to come through here. Maybe even take some of their stuff if they're stupid enough, then watch as the fairies do their thing.'

Nao allowed her eyes to close once again, thinking about the antics she, Lyca, and the rest of her 'neighbors' could play on passerbys. The forest they live in were near the border between Tarna and Vragnok, so it was something she could always look forward to when not preying on the weak.

A portly man stood on a small stage shouting out the news of the day; the town crier. Sarik made his way through the small market, his axe resting his shoulder. "Hear ye! Hear ye! His Majesty, King Sevon of Tarna has asked for all able bodied people to attend his court in Mes'kem at the end of the month to convene a company to rescue his daughter, the Princess Nayoona!" End of the month? That's only a week away! Sarik thought. That would take him two days to reach the capital. He turned and walked over to the horse merchant. The woman stood with her back slumped against the door to the stable, her arms crossed over her chest. "Whatchu want?" she huffed. "A horse, a courser to be more specific. I need to be somewhere rather quickly." Sarik said. The woman looked him up and down and laughed. "You a warrior lad? Ah, you got the look of one, with your pretty mail and big axe. Aye, I got a courser. She's old, but still plenty fast. I'll sell her to ya for 100 gold." Sarik growled before taking his pouch off his belt and counted all he had before giving her 100 pieces. The woman took them with a evil smile. "Alright, she's all in there. A grey mare, can't miss her, because she's the only grey one in there. You can shove off now." Sarik went into the stable and found the horse. Already saddled, Sarik took her reins and led her out of the stable. Once he was out, he mounted her and snapped the reins. The horse took off at a surprisingly fast pace and he was on his way to the capital.

Kornesin and his family lived in the capitol of Tarna, and conducted most of their business there. One day while Kornesin was out and about he saw someone putting up posters around the town. He stopped to read one of them. The king was offering a 10 thousand gold coin reward for anyone who can bring his daughter back alive. Kornesin saw this as an opportunity, not for the gold but for ulterior motives. He grabbed the posting and folded it up, slipping it into his pocket. Perhaps he could make alliances to help him in his own goals. Surely many would be attending this gathering, with a reward of 10 thousand gold who wouldn't? Even though, there have been countless brave men who have tried saving the princess before. But maybe this would change things. Maybe whoever attended this gathering would want to work together and split the reward, although sharing wasn't one of Kornesin's best attributes. Kornesin headed back to his home and would wait there until the eve of this gathering.

(oh man I forgot about this rp)

Alex counted the days, He did guard duty on the wall for a few days. He used this time to watch for the other adventurers who were coming to the town early, to get one of the first spots. Alex saw Adventurers both big and small come through the gate, they were different races and weapons. Alex said "things could be getting interesting when the event finally happens tomorrow. Alex then finished his guard duty and then grabbed his stuff to get ready for the even tomorrow.
