Hm. I'll do a bit if research about how passive skills are earned. I'm not too sure at the moment

I assumed some of them were just available, and they just choose to equip it or not. Kirito did say something in one of the episodes about the Hearing skill, something along the lines of,

"You can listen through doors without knocking with a high enough Hearing skill. It is just that almost no-body bothers to level it up."
I was under the impression this meant, everyone has the Hearing skill, but only some bother to equip it and level it up.

I like it, although a little bit darker than I believe necessary. Don't need to edit it, just thought, people's thoughts don't go that dark so quickly with such reinforcement. Oh well.

It's good to have a player doing a more darker side of SAO approach. I am just thinking, you might end up one more RPing for a while ... unless more people join, or I bring out Yami before I intended to.

No, they don't grow that dark, that's why she's forcing herself to think differently. Let's just say she's... not a positive person. Though I admit, it was a bit fast even for me. I used a time skip and a whole afternoon to try to make her think differently. This is probably hours and hours after she found out she's trapped in the game. During which she rested. Perhaps she had a nightmare? Hm....

Anyways, she is forcing herself to change and become a different person. Her logic is that if she's more negative and less trusting, she has a better chance than if she trusts others. So, she forces herself to try to change, though I'm sure she'll revert from time to time.

It's not exactly true belief, but more of a mindset she's trying to shove herself into and intends to continue to shove herself into, until it truly becomes her mindset.

Well, if you mean I'll be RP-ing solo for a while, that's fine. Since for now, Akane will be a solo player, though I do believe she'd mingle a bit with other players just to dig for information.

I think I'll keep Fujiwara down for the count for another 2-3 hours in the RP- I mean, one does not simply only sleep for five-seven hours after pulling two all-nighters.
Oh, and I almost forgot- Does the friend system allow for requests to be sent remotely, as in most MMOs? I'd assume more than one person might take the same alias in some scenarios, so just dropping a name miiiight not exactly work out.

Yeah... I did 2 all-nighters in a row once. I pretty much collapsed after that and fell asleep for something like 16 hours. I was so out of it hahaha, couldn't stay awake. It was kind of embarrassing.

Hm... I have no idea about the friend system. They might not be allowed to take the same sorts of names all the time, I think?

I think the one-per-name restriction is standard in most online games, but a lot of what I've seen is usually a meetup before the adding of a friend in the anime. It's probably to make the interaction make sense, but I'm not sure if following the same example is necessary, per se.

That's unfortunate. If I remember right, it's more likely to go down during the night for updates and such, though it's been on last night for me. Maybe that's why?

Hm, is that so. Well, it's possible. I'd personally meet up just to make sure I was talking to the right person, instead of accidentally friending someone with a similar name. Plus, from time to time, you just want to visit, right? And I think, in normal cases, you usually have to meet someone first before you can become friends. As in, meet with a stranger and chat and get to know them first.

Well, it was daytime when Kabaya or Kayaba or whatever his name is showed up. It's night time now. She did retreat to a place to rest and think immediately after she found out about the being trapped in a game thing.

My post is after her rest, once it has become dark. It switched from day to night, so I think there were some implications of time skips after all.
My impression was that it was still early afternoon or so when they all went through a forced teleport. And She left that, while it was still bright. Next post is a while after sundown. After she had some rest and spent time thinking.

Ah, I see, one-man RPing. Haha, my previous quote said "quote=Dlayet" earlier. I had to edit that. :P

Well, among 10000 players, I think they won't have the same alias. I think for SAO, we can assume they are all unique aliases.

I would say I am going to allow it, but make it reasonable. You can't just add the name without getting the name from somewhere. And they have to accept it too. But, I will let one of the others decide what they think is reasonable. If they disagree with me, then the third will probably decide something. And if everyone is different, it will be whatever the GM says.

It drove me nuts yesterday. I was stuck! With no RPG at all. I literally googled "bored" to see if anything interesting popped up. yeah, that's pretty sad.

Same, even I'm not sure. It just occured sometime in the afternoon. Currently, it's a dawning of the second day for Akane. So it hasn't been that long, she slipped into grimdark pretty fast, but it's an intentional thing on her part.

Still, I like it, there were bound to be people who were negative, and your character kind of is just showing diversity for the RP. I think to allow you to do more, we won't impose a year before PKing to start, but a certain floor to be cleared first. I will ask the other GMs what they think and discuss this though.

Truth be told, it seemed fast to me too.

I'm fine with it that way. Actually it's probably more likely that the PK-ing and such did start earlier, it just wasn't well-known then, or was disguised. After all, my character needs time to get stronger. Though I did just have a thought that might be interesting, something that could happen earlier in the game.

Still, I think it would be reasonable to say that we should discuss when we will allow for PKing and such. Possibly when we will allow duels as well and things like that.

Well, duels were usually set differently, so they stop just before the killing blow. But.... That isn't the same for PK-ing which is outside of city limits and where a fight can very well mean death.
