Sky High

Principal Powers smiled softly, slowly floating into the middle of the massive gym that would act as the 'Welcoming Ceremony' and 'Power Placement' for the new freshmen that would be entering not even a few hours into the future. She waved a nimble hand through her short brown hair, giving the large room a quick observation. It was grand - twice the size of the regular gym, with a circular platform in the middle of the floor, where she was standing.

"I cannot wait for this new year to start!" she grinned, pressing a button that suddenly appeared in her hand, accompanied by a blast of energy. The platform she stood on shifted into the air, over-looking the staff that worked hard to make the room Ceremony-worthy. "It shall be...grand."

A mysterious smile overcame her features.
Zed

"Finally..."

The black-haired teen continued his steady walk down the narrow, relatively empty street. For his chosen 'school-wear', he wore his standard black leather jacket, with a white skull on the back, dark gray Under Armour, dark blue jeans, white sneakers, and a black laptop bag. His apparel wasn't chosen by his mother - she had wanted him to wear some odd spandex suit that was oddly reminiscent to the one 'Danny Phantom' wore in that odd cartoon - he forgot the name, but he had resisted, finally being able to wear his own clothing. The skull meant something to him. It was a reference to his powers, and the 'alias' he was going to choose once he graduated.

Zed continued the short walk, thankful that no one bothered him on his way to one of the many Sky High bus stops. There were many dotting around Metro City, although he had decided to use the urban one only a few miles away from his home. The teenager resisted a small smirk once he caught the rather noticeable sign.

"Sky High. Psh. Totally not obvious..." he muttered, resting on the large oak bench that rested right in front of the gaudy sign. Zed's eyes traveled towards the package of bus schedules, and he reached over, his index finger extending and wrapping around the flimsy paper. Retracting it, Zed quickly glanced over the brochure before crumbling it up and casually flicking it into the air.

"The 'bus' should be here in around 30 minutes, huh?" Zed whispered, resting his head on his backpack, while a long, thin razor-sharp bone suddenly blasted from his shoulder, piercing the still airborne ball of paper. He absent-mindedly broke the bone off at the base, his jacket repairing itself from the small hole. "This is going to be a long 30 minutes..." He brought his arm back, before throwing it forward, the bone spear travelling through the air at a blurring speed, and burying itself into a tree at least a mile away.

Zen sat on the bench outside the principles office. She was watching a Bruce Lee movie on her phone. Her earphones in. Her dark eyes watching the screen. Flickering across it at a rapid rate taking in every detail.

She sat down just like 'L' from Death Note.

Her phone laid against her colorful jean covered legs. She was biting the nail of her right hand thumb and her left hand held the phone steady. She was so focused on her movie she didn't notice her best and only friend Matt plop down beside her.

"You ready Zen?" Matt asked softly. She didn't like loud noises very much. Zen didn't move her eyes from the movie. "Where's mommy?" She asked in an innocent voice. Matt shifted uncomfortably before grabbing the bag at his feet. "She's at the hospital now. She told me to give you this." He reached the bag out to her.

For the first time she moved her eyes from the screen. She then grabbed the bag from him quickly before opening it revealing bags upon bags of candy. "There's enough to last you a while. In a couple of hours you can leave here and we can see Auntie Em."

Zen nodded already opening a bag of candy and began snacking on the M&M's. "Principle Powers will be here soon to show you to your Special Ed classroom." Zen didn't respond making Matt sigh. "Bye Zen." He said standing to leave. "Bye Matty!" She yelled out to him with a dramatic wave causing him to laugh and wave back before leaving.

Zen then went back took snacking on candy and watching her movie waiting for the principle.

Helena

Chirp, Chirp, Chirp! The birds singing while, Helena ran around the grass smiling. It was such a beautiful place that she was at! And then suddenly. Boom. A flash appeared and she woke up noticing her mom opening the curtains and letting the sunlight in. "Are. You. Serious?" Helena told her mother wiping her eyes, tired. Her mother smiled. "Get up. Today is the day!" She clapped and walked out of the room. Helena sat down her hair all messed up as she layed her back on the bed again putting the bed sheets covering her whole body. "I dont wanna go!" she whined like a little baby.

Helena got her butt up from the bed and walked to the bathroom, taking a shower, finishing her shower, brushing her teeth and picking up her clothes for the day. It was the first day of school, so her mom wanted her to be all cute and represent the Montgomery family. She walked to her bed seeing her clothes that her mom picked up. A sundress and sandals. No. That was not Helena.

Helena threw away the dress and sandals, And ofcourse she did her hair, straighten it and grabbed a dark red lipstick putting it on, and some eyeliner and that was it(Like in the picture up there.) She didn't color her whole face like some girls do. She also grabbed a jacket just incase it got cold or something. "Alright, I am out." She waved at her mom. "Wait!" Her mother called out giving Helena a hug and her snack bag. "Mom....I am not a li-..." she sighed grabbing the bag and walking out of the house.

Helena then walked to the bus stop, which was a couple of blocks away. Not far. Helena made it to the bus stop seeing that she was alone. It was infront of a park. She sat down in the bench raising a leg ontop of the other and waiting. All she did was wait. It was going to arrive in about 35minutes or so. "I seriously need to do something about being alone. I have no type of friends." And she waited.

Genesis brushed through her hair lightly, leaving it still some what messy. She slathered lip gloss on her thin lips and smiled at her reflection. Then Genesis closed her eyes and as she opened a new reflection was waiting in the mirror for her. She laughed lightly at the boy in the mirror, his hair messy to he hadn't bothered to comb it since G awoke. G picked up a flat white comb and pushed it through his hair.

It had taken quite awhile for Genesis to get used to the fact she could change into a boy, who she had name Gabriel. Sometimes Genesis would wake up and be Gabriel, sometimes she wished she'd been born powerless. But when her mother convinced G it was a good power she came to see the light in being a "gender bender" as G called it.

G switched back to her female form and ran her black nails through her dark hair. Genesis grabbed her navy blue worn messenger bag from the back of her door and then exited her room, shutting the door behind her. She hurried down the stairs, stopping to hug her mom.

"Have a good day sweetheart. Be careful, make good choices." G's mother smiled.

"My god mother, I'll be home in like eight hours. Not going for a cruise or anything." Genesis rolled her eyes and hurried out the door yelling a goodbye. Genesis hurried towards the bus stop for sky high and saw there was already a boy sitting down on the bench. "Hi, I'm G." She sat down right next to the boy and smiled softly.

Brady had made it too the bus stop early, deciding to wear a long sleeved blue shirt, with blue jeans. Brady adjusted his black back pack as he stood at the bus stop, waiting patiently for the bus. Brady was totally lost in his own thoughts, not noticing a single thing about his surroundings. He was content to stand and simply watch the clouds. His father had tried to get him to wear some sort of superhero costume today, since Brady was starting his sophomore year, but Brady just laughed his father up. Brady doubted he would ever wear a superhero costume. Brady looked straight up in the air, still oblivious to everything around him. He honestly couldn't wait to be back at Sky High. He enjoyed the people there, and he also seemed to okay in courses. While he had only gone to a regular high school for one year, he had been able to join the sports team of his local high school and be around those students, and he easily liked Sky High students more than regular students. While the powers threw in a cool gear into the equation, it also allowed for people to more thoroughly express themselves. At least, that's what Brady believed.

Brady dropped his gaze down to his feet, and lightly tapped his foot. This was an everyday occurrence for Brady. Getting so lost in his own thoughts that he would completely ignore those around him. It wasn't that his attention was hard to get, he simply just lost himself easily when bored. As Brady started to ease himself back into reality, he started to roll up the sleeves of his shirt. He remembered how nice and cool it got at Sky High, and how much he enjoyed feeling the wind on his skin. At last, Brady had started to take note of his surroundings, noticing a few other students around him. Returning his gaze back to straight ahead of him, Brady let loose a yawn. It was still a little to early for him.

May walked down the sidewalk towards the bus stop by her adoptive parents house. She had in red ear-buds and was listening to some music. Unluckily for her, she was being made to go through the freshman orientation stuff no matter how much she wished not to have to go through it. For her outfit she wore a black short sleeve, loose cardigan that went over a blood red crop top. She paired that with black, ripped, skinny jeans and blood red hightops. With the jeans and the crop top, her stomach was completely visible, the cardigan only hiding her bare back and sides. To go with her outfit, May had smokey eye makeup that enhanced her chocolate eyes, blood red lipstick, and her chocolate hair was curled and the upper part pulled back for a half up half down hairstyle leaving her bangs to frame her caramel skinned face.

When May arrived at the bus stop other students were already there, but she just ignored them as she leaned against the sign that said 'bus stop' on it. May then closed her eyes and let her head hang back as she listened to her blasting music trying to drown out the world as her body listened to the earth to feel any shock waves made by anyone who may attempt to come towards her.

Ellis woke up in his dull apartment. He looked around as if ripped from a dream, and then remembered today was a special day.
"Sky High today, huh. I hope we make new friends, I guess. Right, Mister? " He told the blurry white cat that appeared out of nowhere, flickering in and out of existence.
Ellis then got dressed, his black long sleeved shirt, jeans, and his battered sneakers. He then took his already packed bag, which didn't contain much, and went out.
It was still too early, but Ellis went to the bus stop, hoping maybe, to make a new friend. He walked with his poorly maintained illusion, Mister, and they arrived at the bus stop.

Zed glanced up at the arrival of a few other individuals. From what he could see from their immediate appearances, they wouldn't be much of a bother. Hopefully. One of the females gave him a smile and introduced herself 'G', while another female, with a rather 'dark appearance', simply sat down and turned on loud music. Another boy, with a small goatee/beard, seemingly woke up and stared forward.

Zed turned to the 'G' female, giving her a polite smirk, and a tip of the head.

"Hey, name's Zed." he introduced himself, sitting up completely and stretching his arms above his head, which was accompanied by the sounds of bones cracking comfortably. Zed turned his attention back to the girl, absent-mindedly twirling a bone-white 'toothpick' around his tongue. "You're a freshman for Sky High as well, yeah?" While he would normally keep to himself, logic won out, and Zed knew that having a friendly ally early on would be helpful in the long run.

High-school is like a jungle, after all.

Tom splashed his face with water and looked up to his image on the mirror. He took a deep breath and went to his room to grab a shirt. It was his first day to go back to school with other kids. For more than five years, he had a home school program which separated him from everyone else. His parents almost never let him out of the house, so he didn't have any friends outside, though he has met people. While he wore a maroon unzipped hoodie over his gray shirt, the sound of the door swinging open and slamming to the wall made him jump. It was his father, staring at him with stern eyes. They stared at each other for ten seconds before his father shut the door closed without a word. It's always been like that; them watching him, ignoring him most of the time. He deserved it after all, but he didn't dwell on those thoughts anymore.

When everything was set, he picked up a backpack and went downstairs. No one spoke or said goodbye when he left the house and started walking. The school already told him where the nearest bus stop was, so he went that way. He was on the sidewalk when he saw the bus stop, and there was one girl there (HELENA). He pushed his glasses up a little before continuing his way towards it. He took a seat right on the bench beside her and stole a glance. It's been a while since he's had a conversation with someone, especially a girl, so he said "Hey," in a quick mutter to her.

Helena sat there as she grabbed her phone, scrolling down her contact list to call her mother but she stopped seeing that her mother was so excited for her daughter to go to Skyhigh. Helena did want to go but she was a little nervous to go to a school, especially a highschool where they were going to be annoying teenagers. Ofcourse, Helena wasn't one of them.

"Hm. I should've bought a pack of gum but if I go to the store... I will probably miss the bus and I do not want to miss it." Helena said looking up at the sky and then noticing a guy sitting down next to her. Helena sat up smiling at him. "Hello there. Uhhh you are going to Skyhigh too correct?"

G eyed Zed carefully, taking in his appearance. "Oh yes, freshman at freakzoid high. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you are too, Zed. Now, now what can you do Jacket?" G smiled yet again looking at the boy. "it doesn't look like it'd be something usual, like something boring if that makes sense." While waiting for an answer G began to study everyone around around them. Her eyes flickering with excitement.

Zed gave G a deadpanned stare. "Jacket? Couldn't come up with a better nickname?" he chuckled quietly, but didn't look annoyed by it. He quietly mulled over the question, before raising a hand. "It's not for the faint of heart." His hand began cracking in different places, before the skin suddenly burned away without a sound or smell, revealing the boy's skeletal bones. He clenched the hand, and the bones melded together into a 6-feet, razor sharp bone sword. Zed grinned and broke the sword-hand away, tossing it into the bushes behind them, while his hand grew once more, flesh in the right place.

"It's weird, yeah. But awesome." He brought his hand up in the classic 'gun' formation, before making mock shooting noises. The tip of his 'gun' broke away before a barrage of bone-like bullets began blasting from the finger, piercing a tree across the street. He blew imaginary smoke away from the bone-finger, before turning it back into it's usual skin.

"Can't wait to beat ass in this new school. So, how about you?"

Was she talking to herself just now? Tom blinked and readjusted his position on the seat. Being outside was starting to make him uncomfortable, since he wasn't used to it. He didn't want the other kids to see him as some geeky freak who didn't know how to be normal. But he had a little confidence while he tries to talk to the girl, and just hoped that he was doing things right.

After a couple of seconds, he figured he should smile back at her, so that's what he did. She seemed nice, which was good. It gave him a warm feeling that added to his confidence, though he was still awkwardly shifting around his space. "Yeah, I'm a uh...freshman." Tom slid back to his thoughts, wondering what to do next. People shake hands, right? He glanced away for a second and brushed his hand over the hair behind his head before turning back to the girl, skipping his idea to shake hands. Instead he started talking again.

"So what's your name?"

Helena put her brightness of her phone up and went to the camera section where she put on the front camera so she would use it as a mirror to check herself. Helena checked herself just incase if she had some kind of booger or something. It has happened to her before and she dosen't want it to happen in school, especially around the boys. She put her phone away looking towards Tom. He seemed to be a little uncomfortable and he seemed sweet. It seems that Tom here, is one of the 'geeky boys' but she had no problems with geeky people. Those are the people who go really far in life. Helena wouldn't call herself geek or anything, but she was smart. And she spoke. "Oh.. uhhh. My name is Helena, nice to meet you there." she nodded extending her left hand to shake hands with his, if he wanted to that is. "Oh. And Im a freshman as well. Im kinda nervous, because usually whenim new to a school. I either get laughed at or picked on. But that was in the past, I became more tou- Oooh. You dont care. Sorry." She rambeled but stopped waiting for the handshake.

May's eyes opened when the earth sent her a vibration of something landing in the bushes or somewhere in that area. May looked towards the two sitting down and then felt wind rush by along with the bone bullets. Her eyes narrowed at the boy that they had come from seeing as the bone was only inches from her face. A single piece of earth in the form of a small stone floated up infront of her then shot by the boy's face on the side that wasn't close to the girl only missing by a few inches. A smirk settled on her face as she closed her eyes again letting the music pull her back in. 'Oh Helena and the parental figures wouldn't have been happy with that.' May thought.

Brady, now in the real world, could hear all the conversation around him. By the way most of them talked, they seemed to be freshman. He was glad the school was getting more students, which possibly meant more people to hang out with, make friends with, and talk to. Brady still stood, quietly, though. He didn't need conversation to pass the time, and it seemed most people had already found their own way to pass time. Brady was content to stand til the bus came, without a care in the world. Brady stuck his hands, which were previously at his side, in his pockets, as he kept his gaze forward, a smile forever on his face. It might of look goofy, but Brady was content, and usually kept a small smile on his face.

Tom watched as she held her phone and was using the front camera. For a second, he thought she was gonna randomly start taking pictures of herself, which was a little weird for him. He even feared that she was gonna ask him to pose on a self-portrait with her. But he realized she was just checking her face. When she was done, he felt relieved for some reason, but did well to not show it. She didn't have to realize how nervous he was with meeting someone new.

"Oh.. uhhh. My name is Helena, nice to meet you there."

When she said that, he nodded a little. He saw her extend her hand out, and realized she wanted to shake hands. It looked like he was doing good, and he was able to half smile again. He reacted a bit late, but he took Helena's hand, with his fingers loose, and gently shook it. He didn't make it firm, since he was scared that he'd hurt her with his grip. He listened to what she was saying until she suddenly stopped.

"It's fine," he told her with a shrug. In fact, she made him want to talk more; he even for got to mention his own name. "I mean, I was home schooled since I was nine. And my parents don't let me go out with other kids too much. I don't even have a phone. Wonder how I'll do now, since I'm pretty new to a lot of stuff." He didn't say straight up that he didn't actually have any real friends. She'll think he's weird, and it's better for no one to actually know that.

Helena smiled as they shooked hands. She yawned looking at the sky a bit tired. "Sooo." Helena turnes her head towards Tom, which he kept talking about his past. Atleast he was homeschooled, she wished she was, it would have made her school life a bit easier. "You are lucky you were homeschooled. And you don't have a phone? Weird...." she raised an eyebrow bitting her bottom lips, thinking a little but then snapped out of it. "Wait. What is your name? You kept talking and I didn't hear your name come out, haha." Helena looked at the time and the bus schedule. "When is the bus coming? Lord." And she waited for his response.

Tom stopped himself from saying even more things about himself. Most of it was boring or weird, and he might end up slipping and say something about what he actually did. When she made a remark about him not having a phone, he just shrugged his shoulders. Of all things, he didn't think that that fact was gonna be that weird to her. "Home school isn't that nice. Its probably a bit easier since I don't have to wake up early, but it also gets boring."

"Wait. What is your name? You kept talking and I didn't hear your name come out, haha."

Tom raised his eyebrows and then realized that she was right about that. He immediately felt impolite, and cursed himself in his thoughts. You had to talk about yourself first. "Oh, right, yeah, sorry. My name's Tomlin. I mean, Tom. Just Tom." He followed her gaze to the schedule, but it was too far for him to see so he decided to just not reply to her about it anymore.

Sara's first day at Sky High
The Bus Stop

Sara waited till the car stopped and leaned over to her mom an kissed her cheek saying 'Thanks for the ride mom but I have it from here"

Serenity Solomon AKA Clue smiled as she laughed softly "I know Sara but I'm still your mom and it's part of my duty to see that my progeny is safely delivered"
"Mom that sounds too posh, people will think we're being boorish" giggles Sara as she squeezes her mom's hand just before opening the car door
Sara climbed out of the Audi R8 and retrieved her computer bag from the back then headed for the bus stop as the bright red sports car drove away.
Looking up she saw that there were others already there waiting. She'd never met any of those present as she'd had to attend private school in europe as she followed her mom around.

It wasn't easy being the daughter of the world's most in demand Detective slash Archaeologist and because of it Sara often felt like an outsider.
She walked over to the Bus stop and stood off to the side trying not to intrude.
She looked at the others there and wondered what their powers were and sighed. She already knew what her ability was it was only it's limits that she didn't understand yet. She knew her power was useful but as far as super heroic went her's was pretty lame.
"Super Medic, Wonder Doc, EMT Girl" these were names that spun through her thoughts as she waited.
