Or rather, I didn't think of it that early but I changed it a bit from when I came up with it a while ago.
I was thinking of a power that basically revolved around magic cards. These cards would appear in Vindle's hands and he could use them as he wished. I was thinking of limiting it to cards with fire and electricity at first, then more cards would gradually become available as he practiced.

That sounds interesting. Kind of the magic the gathering cards? Whatever card he pulls he gets that ability temporarily?

Mmm, some cards like flying would be used on him temporarily. But things like fire when thrown in the air would have the fire come outta the card and Vindle could control the direction it's in. However, he'd have to throw a new card because cards can't move from the spot they're in, only rotate. They do of course run out of time. The max number of cards that are used at the same time is 5, but after he practices more I'm thinking of bumping that number up.
