Brovo said First you really don't wanna be that guy who is looking for work or post secondary at age 20 who doesn't even have a high school GED cuz they skipped too many classes to qualify for it.

Well I assume for most of us it went without saying not to skip that insane amount of days.

Brovo said And if you think you aren't training yourself subconsciously for later on in life, you are a fool who does not understand the power of sloth and addiction.

True, however for some people (not everyone sadly though) work actually gives you motivation to go because you may enjoy it, or in some people's cases you simply want to make that money. School however for many people often kills much motivation to go (combination of bad teachers, disliked mandatory course or simply shitty student community) which for many people leave's a very understandable reason for not wanting to go.

Brovo said That it is largely paying for you to attend, I might add.

Not if it's a Private school. :P

1 & 2: Yet the high school dropput rate remains insane... Hmm...

It likely would not bother me if they dropped out to go work, get ahead on work experience, pick up a forklift certificate, and so on. Or even to take care of sick or wounded family, I can respect that.

However, throwing it away because "its a waste of time", typically then followed up with games, weed, and fucking... Sowing the seeds for one's own destruction.

3: Most private schools in most countries take some form or government subsidy to lower tuition cost, especially if they are small, specialized, or religious.

Atop this, presumable, one's parents had to pay for that extra cost. That makes it worse, not better! D:

That has a number of factor's to it. There are those who take fake sick days but do so responsibly.

But then you got those who skip school because they have no concept or grasp on the real world and think it's more 'cool' to ditch all the time.
Big difference.

Assuming the sick day isn't parent approved, which in my experience of both myself and friends it often is. However, we were the kinds who did it rarely (I think only ever did it when Mass Effect 3 came out and I planned to marathon the game right then).

Just pointing out that abusing sick days because "fuck it" is probably not helping.

Yep. "Fuck it."

So you called in sick to marathon a video game?... Hmm... No, sorry, I don't think I could really get this. I'd have never gotten away with this level of irresponsible behaviour. Two different lives, though, I'm struggling to comprehend why you would even want to ditch what is quintessentially free education for a video game you can play anytime.

If it's high school or primary school or whatever the fuck, that's fine. The level of education there is shite.

College, however. That's a different story. You're paying to go there. Why not go there and not waste your money?

That was the case with me though, my parents were completely fine with it because I was already doing better in school than most people were. I technically could of done it later, but I was honestly just too excited to wait, I wanted to play it right then and there. But I also wanted to enjoy the experience of marathoning it for the first play-through, just cause all the narrative and story tends to be richer and more engaging for me if it's all done in one sitting and is the first time I'm seeing it.

Hell last week I basically spent day and night doing nothing but marathoning Game of Thrones for similar reasons, though it's summer so I wasn't missing school this time. Also with the show I could of waited a bit, but Mass Effect was a series I played a lot of since I was 12, so there was years of enjoyment, loyalty and excitement all built up making me want to play Mass Effect at that very moment.

School was rather relaxed and not teaching much atm anyways, I ended up coming to school the next day and finding out I had missed absolutely nothing. Though my High School was rather shitty and ill-prepared in general.

I skipped school once. It was so worth it that day, but catching up was not fun.

To be honest, skip all the school/work you want, just be ready for the consequences. If you miss a day off school, you miss the academic material. Not going to work, not getting paid (depending on pay model). If don't show up for an extended period of time, you get kicked out, simple as that.

Necromancer woah.

But yeah, catching up on something that's happened in the day you missed, either work or school, will not be easy.

Unless you're a genius.
