An encounter with orcs at the edge of the forest is perfectly fine -- in fact, I was looking to start the RP with something like that. It could very well be that Edward tells Thaddeus of what events have befallen him, and the investigation of Woodhaven and the Dark Forest nearest to it can be the starting point of our roleplay. Accepted.

Any thoughts about relations between eleves and dwarves? Are they allies like old eras of middle earth, or more antagonistic like in the modern eras there? or perhaps they outright hate each other?

No I don't think that's a neat topic of conversation. Anyways it's nice to see there are a couple of strong female characters too. I'm really excited for this ^.^

Elves and dwarves are... well, they're anathema to each other. Elves live in the forest, in harmony with everything that grows, frequently moving through the treetops above the ground or even living there in treehouses carved into the wood. Dwarves are the opposite, existing in the deep dark, far away from the greenery and sunlight of a forest environment. Dwarves and elves don't understand each other very well but they've never clashed or fought wars. The elves have no desire to go underground and the dwarves find little appeal in the elven forests. How much can a shark hate an elephant?

See, it's things like this that just make Shi'mon purse his lips and slowly step away. The knife-chest-thing sounds horrifying.

Oh, I'll put out this offer. I am building up my moleskin with character designs and otherwise bulking up portfolio. If any of you would like, I could sketch your characters and would welcome your use of such in this roleplay. It would be traditional, drawn between realistic & graphic novel and may include some watercololour. If anyone is interested I'll PM you just to make sure I've got what you want in my mind.

Sure. it'd be interesting.

We've drawn some of our characters in the past, but we kinda lost heart for a while after we lost our renderer. Our sig is the last one we made that we deemed "finished". There's about 40 images of that one in the sig.

These days, when we do draw, its often on paper and is maps.
