IC:

A single deft sidestep brought Abraham around the locker door, though he seemed decidedly unsurprised by its presence. Now that a modicum of distance had been put between himself and the intruder, he took his gaze away from the intersection, focusing on his own retreat. "Simple; Retreating without paying attention is inadvisable, both for myself, and for for anyone who retreated the same direction."

"Bes-" Whatever next remark he was going to make was cut off by the generation of... Lava dragon statues, further down the direction that he as fleeing. One of, by the sound of things, four.

... You ever deal with lava dragons?

Once. It was a pain.

"So, you ever deal with a lava statue before? Because it's looking necessary."

Deja, ever the icy one, stood still as everyone scattered in fear of the dragons. With her blindfold, she did not see, but did indeed feel the dragons rise from the ground. As they began to writhe chaotically, seeking destruction, Deja walked. Her parasol over her blocking the sunshine from her delicate skin, and her pale kimono and hair were truly a strange sight to be seen as she walked amongst the chaos that the man named 'Dios' had contributed. As she walked, the ground around her cracked and fell accordingly with the dragons... and ever so slowly she drew her sword, hidden within the fragile wood and paper of the parasol.
A dragon, of heat and magma, caught the appearance of the small young woman walking amongst it all and dove for her head on.

"Amaterasu, Aid me."

Her whispered prayer made her protected blade sheen in the sunlight. As the dragon dove to ensnare her body in its gaping maw, the samurai leaped. Her feet hit the brimstone, the wood of her sandals threatening to burst into flame, until she began to run along the dragons long body. Her blade dragged, nearly touching the magma, until she came to the spot she needed. She sensed it. The Dragons heart was not composed of magma, but of rock.

Knowing what she must do, the samurai once again leapt up, the dragon spinning and snapping its jaws to get her. She turned in the air, her blindfold fastened tightly over her eyes, and brought her blade down with her body. Impaling the heart of the dragon.

With a cry, the magma dragon fell and whimpered. She stayed that way for a moment, feeling the embers of the dragon start to die. She knelt down, and pressing her fingers to where the heartbeat was slowly fading, Deja whispered. "May the moon guide you."

With a twist of the blade, the dragon was no more.

Jinx

-A enemy, or New friend?-

After having a conversation with the wizard, Jinx had decided to stroll about until she found something to do or was told what to do. It seemed it she didn't have to wait very long until a battle was started outside the school and many seemed to join in to fight against someone. Jinx only heard the words 'Intruder' getting shouted, and personally she wondered what it really meant. In Jinx point of view over the situation, nearly everyone in this school could be an 'Intruder' and just calling it loudly didn't really help even if many seemed to gang up on just one random person who had appeared. It seemed the new person was knowing the Queen, and they seemed to be enemies... seeing as Jinx didn't really like the queen, this Intruder could be an new ally... Enemy of my enemy, kind of logic.

Yet seeing the battle going on, Jinx decided that she would do what she did the best... namely staying as far away from it as possible and stay out of the way. She had no intention of helping at all, they could all get slaughtered for what she cared. At least now was a better time than ever to take a peak in every room left empty from the battle, like the headmistresses room, and other places where none was. She searched the rooms thoroughly while the battle went on, and she took care to remove any small items that wouldn't be missed so easily before leaving the rooms and relocking the already locked ones. After that she would continue to wander about to see what she could find, and to learn about this academy and all its possible hiding places.

Tai Yang

"Fair enough, your words are wise. One moment." Tai Yang suddenly lept back into the intersection, speeding past the dragon headed towards Abraham.

For, the dragon statue that had gone north found itself stuck halfway through a wall, as at the T intersection, there was no where to go in the northerly direction but through the wall. So, it was stuck, lava bubbling helplessly as it ever so slowly melted its way through the brick that was much thicker than it had anticipated, stopping it at its wings.

Having his target nicely lined up, Tai Yang swung his right hand down, in that familiar karate chop used to slice boards in half move. 'An immobile target is no different from a piece of wood. Summon your strength!' Tai Yang's eyes bespoke a passion as he struck down with his full might.

"KIAI" Tai Yang's yell hardened both his body and soul, and his Karate chop landed with a force inhuman, the arm unscathed by the heat of the lava. With it being so nicely braced, the dragon statue was cleaved in half, sending rock and lava splattering around him.

Landing before the half of its body not stuck in the wall fell to the ground, he kicked it up with his left foot, at first staggering with the enormous weight of the thing, but then launching it a bare few feet up, lightly scraping the ceiling with its tail. Then with a spinning kick and another shout, Tai Yang sent this half of a dragon statue hurtling towards the one headed at Abraham.

"I have now dealt with a lava statue. This one is yours if you wish, otherwise, stay back!" Tai Yang ran after the dragon statue half that he had sent towards the one heading at Abraham, and would intercept the comparitively slow beast if Abraham chose not to engage. Tai Yang did look a bit odd though, in that his shirt was on fire from lava splatters and this did not seem to bother Tai Yang in the slightest.

However, if Abraham wished to engage, he had a perfect opportunity what with the target about to get slammed with one half of one of its comrades, which would very certainly lower the guard of the thing and kill its forward momentum as it was shoved into the wall.

’…for the love of all that is sweet…!’ It seems like fate hated him with a passion. The girl in his arms erupted into a painful amount of light, temporarily blinding him…as causing his arms to burst into flames. ‘Just…keep calm…and…flan…’ Patting down his arms and letting out a tired sigh…Aram knew, just knew flan wasn’t going to make this any less painful for him later.

Thankfully, his eyes recovered enough for him to see that the injured girl flew off in the direction he was just running from…great. Miss Begay did go off to stop her from doing something she’d regret later, so there was some hope. Well, that idea was dashed away quite spectacularly, because, of course, stranger-smells-o-salt decided that he wanted to bring about more problems by summoning some form of molten rock golem.

Rubbing his forearm, and cursing lightly under his breath…seeing as a number of the staff were already fixing this problem, Aram decided t just finish what he started. Running over, he caught sight of another youth…why did the students actually think they were going to be able to fight this, if they were completely new to this academy, to this Dawn Slaying bit? Aram understood if they didn’t want to sit back and do nothing, but one couldn’t very well do anything, good or bad or useless, if they were dead or disabled. Summoning a plastic wrapped elephant shaped marshmallow the size of the girl’s head, he stuck it into the Aurora’s arms before grabbing Miss Begay’s hand in his own burned one, grabbing the youth’s in his other, “…lets go. Let the staff take care of this!”
Kicking the door of the staff room open, the small toaster ran down the hall with many a ‘thunk thunk’ sound…his nap was disturbed by the series of loud sounds, and no doubt there was trouble. Running past a student or two, retreating or idle, the Toaster saw what looked to be a flame dragon charging his way. Ripping off the tiny tie from around it's neck and tossing it to the ground, to avoid it catching on fire and being a hindrance, he jumped into the air above the creature…using his energy manipulation, he brought a bolt of energy from a nearby electrical outlet. It struck through the dragon on it’s way to Toaster, who sucked it into his open mouth and shot it through the dragon again in the form of a mini particle beam…all this, causing the lights of the hall to flicker on and off continually. The heat mixed with the static in the air, which would have made anyone's hair truly uncomfortable after only a few seconds...but the little toaster paid no mind, landing on the other side of the dragon, continuing it's barrage of blindingly fast electrical attacks.

Soon, the dragon was dead…but upon further inspection of poking the rock bits, hopping along it in an almost cute manner…it was actually a golem or something! Going down the hall, the Toaster beast only had enough time to see the villain escaping…like a b!tch. Hopping up and down excitedly, the Toaster shook it’s tiny fist at the retreating dragon-person while hissing menacingly, ”YES, YES! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN, PUNY DRAGON! FOR I, THE TOASTAR BEESTEH WILL NOT ONLY TEAR DOWN MORE OF YOUR PITIFUL ROCKLINGS, BUT ALSO MAKE YOU MY PERSON B!TCH NEXT TIME YOU COME AROUND HERE! ARRRRRAAAAWWWRR RAWR RAWWWR~!”

Barking madly, it’s electrical cord tail wagging wildly behind it…it was only after a moment of calming down that it realised the headmistress was present. Running up to the headmistress, and pawing up at her leg gently, it peered up at her face inquiringly, ”OVERLORD HEADMISTRESS-SAMA, YOU ARE ALRIGHT, I SEE! WAS THAT WHO I THOUGHT THAT WAS…? WAS THAT...THAT DAMNED MAILMAN?!” Stopping his pawing, Toaster growled at the thought of such a blackguard in his academy! Such a fiend!

Surprise colored Key's features when the girl latched onto her sobbing. Softly, she placed her hand on Aurora's head and sighed. The first day, and already things were getting crazy. First bad guy, then super saiyan girls, and now lava dragons. Key watched as a few were taken out by students and each time she felt worry and relief. Worry because some of these students may not know what they were getting into, and relief because they turned out just fine. Maybe a little worse for wear, but fine nonetheless. The only person who wasn't fine was currently grabbing her hand.

At his statement, she wanted to replay that they were the staff, but he was right. Mark, the smoker, could take care of himself, this girl could not. And now, with his hands burned, Aram was probably less fit to fight than he was before. So, instead of speaking her thoughts, she nodded, though an anger was slowly building up inside of her. An anger towards the one who decided to wreak havoc on their school and put their students in danger.

Trying to distract herself from her temper, she looked at Aram worriedly, "Are you okay? Your arms..." she frowned, not wanting to say why they were like that, in case the girl had not realized yet. No reason to make Aurora beat herself up over something that she probably couldn't help doing.

"I shall deal with it."

As if noticing the intent of its opponent, the draconic golem lashed outward with a forelimb, expecting to slam Abraham into the wall. He stepped back, his adept reflexes enabling him to avoid the blow with ease. Furthermore, it was quite enough time for the makeshift projectile that was one of its former brethren to slam into it, causing the beast to collide with the wall with a clamor of stone on brick. Momentarily stunned, it took a moment for the creature to regain knowledge of its surroundings; When it did, its target was no longer there.

The swordsman's whereabouts were revealed by a slash to its flank, blade cutting into stone and magma with a little effort, only to be pulled free when the beast turned its head to bite. Once more Abraham darted nimbly aside, a quick swipe at the dragon's leg liberating the bottom fourth of its limb, limiting mobility. By this point, Fury was quite hot; The heat had no adverse effect on the blade, but it was rather inadvisable to touch it.

Your grandfather would have cut through it by now.

You know, if you ever did anything more than nag, maybe I would have too.

A more more swift strikes, interrupted only by the time it took to evade rapidly slowing blows of the beast's own, severely limited the creature's ability to be a threat, and Abraham himself had yet to suffer even a near-injury. Ducking down to avoid a rather irritable snap of the creature's jaws, he found himself with an opportunity; One he quickly took advantage of, lunging forward to sink Fury into the base of the creature's neck, and twist.

Not as flashy as the other takedowns, perhaps, but a death by a thousand cuts was a death nonetheless.

Tai Yang

Tai Yang addressed Abraham. "Well done. You know how to pace yourself and fight with caution, to risk no injury when the battle has only begun." Tai Yang glanced towards the sky meaningfully, then back to Abraham. "I look forward to seeing the culmination of your style someday. What is your name?" Tai Yang complimented Abraham as Tai Yang tossed aside his burning and now largely pointless shirt.

"Deja, your every movement is graceful. To defeat your opponent with such precision is beyond my skill." Tai Yang then turned to compliment Deja. It was his tradition to speak to his fellow warriors after battle.

"And demonic toaster..? Um... Very good?" Tai Yang was a bit uncertain about that. He didn't have much in his expertise of martial combat to go off of in reference to Toaster's style. But hey, a kill was a kill.

As each and every one of the four dragons were taken down one by one, Yui narrowed her eyes. Her gaze moved from each pile of rubble where the flaming golemns had once stood. This was too easy. A test then? Some method to prove his point. No. This was Dios after all.

"He was proving a point....and showing off. Figures."

Feeling a metallic surface brushing on her leg, she looked down to see quite an angry little machine nudging at her with robotic affection. One of her Vice Principals, Toaster to be more precise. Picking up the animated cooking item, she held him up to her face.

"....Toaster-san. You're late." This of course didn't stop the Headmistress from smiling lightly while gently wiping some dirt and grime off his shiny exterior.

"Impressive, aren't they?" She was referring to the students and staff who, for the most part, handled the situation with relative ease and only a few injuries. Frowning at the thought of even being attacked in the first place, the Esper closed her eyes and focused her mind, sending out a mass mental message.

"To all the staff present and functional, please bring the students to their dorms and tend to any injuries they may have sustained. After that, please join me for a mandatory and immediate staff meeting. That is all."

A pause.

"Pollux-san, if your injuries continue to worsen, please feel no obligation to attend the meeting if you cannot do so. I understand we are lacking a school nurse," she lampshaded.

"Let's go." Still carrying Vice Principal Toaster in her arms, Yui made the long journey back to her office...only to pause at a most peculiar sight. A student that was wondering the halls, apparently looking for something. From the look of it, it was Mianax Jianxu Viroulus. Or Jinx.

Clearing her throat to gain her attention while placing Toaster on the ground near her feet, Yui walked up and tapped the student on her shoulder.

"Is there something you need Viroulus-san? You shouldn't be roaming around when the school has just been attacked by a intruder. A noisy one at that."

Wowzers.

As Val dragged unconscious Ninja Janitor lady away from the dangerous, angry, and probably crazy man, he watched as yet another first year, the one went full light-magic-fairy mode when in the presence of Aram, rush up towards Dios...only to get knocked unconscious by a book. And there was also some little speech about the differing ideologies between Mr. Thinks-He's-God and Headmistress Wow-Did-She-Actually-Laugh. About how supernaturals were to be equal or not with humans.

How amazingly narrowminded. As if the nature around them deserved not to even be mentioned. As if the world that sustained them did not have the right to be considered. And even then...it appeared that they were unable to compromise their beliefs. Was it not possible for an inferior race and a superior race to coexist? Val smiled then, an easy, unconcerned smile. That sort of life was pretty much most of his previous life, after all. When was it that equality and all those trivial things became so important? The modern life really was rather annoying, at least from the viewpoint of a God.

He'd been thinking a lot about it, but life would be so much simpler if one of the two were simply separated and placed on another planet, dimension, or simply landmass.

Still, Dios's outburst was quite surprising, and, sitting on the Ninja Janitor's back to prevent her from getting swept away, Val used one hand to cover his eyes until the blast subsided. There was one last kernel of information before the man made his leave.

Dios was a Dragon, one that had plenty of time to grow while Val was dead.

The blue-haired boy grimaced. Dawn Slayers loved their double standards, didn't they? For an organization that was purely human just a few centuries ago, it seemed that they had no problem with supernatural beings joining their ranks, as long as those beings killed their own kind.

A Dragon with an army, and control over the primal element of the Earth: magma.

His past self would have just had a blast fighting against that much evil, but now...even the Headmistress was surprised by the Dragon's strength. Then, with that dramatic show of strength, he created four dragons of lava, sending them over to wreck havoc in the school, before disappearing.

Taking a look at the Ninja Janitor that he was still sitting on (gosh, her chest was a remarkably comfortable cushion), he shook his head in pity. Burn marks were going to be a pain in the ass for her to clean up afterwards. Welp, it's not like he's obligated to help her in anyway.

He stood up, closed his eyes to confirm the locations of the four dragons, before passing out a low whistle through his lips. If nothing else, the first years were remarkably competent, taking down all four before he could even do his job. As well as that crazy toaster. It also seemed that the humans of this age were flame-retardant and heat-resistant. Very impressive. If this keeps up, all he'll have to do as a hall monitor was report a few tardiness incidents to Yui!

Slinging the Ninja Janitor over his shoulders next, like he would with a body bag, Val called out to the Headmistress, “Hey, Yui-Yui, I'll be heading to the dorms to drop off the Janitor gurl, alright? You want me to be physically present in the meeting as well?"

As Deja was addressed by Tai Yang as she approached both he and the male which she caught to be named 'Abraham', her features moved in surprise. She was... unused to such praise. "I am both surprised, and flattered by your comments, Tai Yang. Nonetheless, I thank you." She bowed in thanks to him before listening to his word about some sort of toaster.

"Toast...er...?" She cocked her head to the side. She hadn't seen a toaster since her decision to keep her eyes behind a blindfold. If the rythmic clanking noise were anything to go off of, she would surmise that the toaster was animated. Without much ado, she reopened her parasol, slipping her blade back within with practiced movements and turning to the one named 'Abraham.'

"Hello. You must also be a student here, yes?" She smiled. "I apologize to forego proper introduction, however, please tell me what has transpired; As you can see I have chosen the path of the sightless and understand only so much."

"Thank you," Abraham addressed Tai Yang, smiling slightly. He sheathed Fury in a single smooth motion, returning the blade to its usual position at his side. As he did so, he glanced about the area; A little messy, a little damage, but there seemed to be few injuries. "I won't pretend to be good at a large number of things, but I try to be competent in the areas I can."

He held out a hand to shake. "I'm Abraham Martin, pleased to meet you."

His head swiveled slightly to look at Deja again, noting her blindfold immediately. "There were four of the draconic golems, miss. By my count, they've all been vanquished. A little damage to the area, but only one person seems to have suffered injury."

Mentally making a note to find the janitor later to thank her, he addressed Deja again. "Your skill is impressive. I wouldn't be nearly so able, were I without my sight."

You aren't now.

Shut up.

Tai Yang

Tai Yang seemed to hesitate for a moment in confusion before reaching his hand out similarly. He did not take Abraham's hand, as he didn't know that was the next step, but would likely continue following along if Abraham continued to make the effort to teach him how to handshake. "And I am Tai Yang, it is joyous to meet you." Tai Yang tried to bow a little while maintaining his hand out... but it didn't quite work as intended.

Abraham might notice if he actually took Tai Yang's hand that it was quite warm.

As the conversation turned to Deja, he to turned his attention to that. "Indeed. I can hear an enemy approach in my most meditative states, but I cannot target their vital points. Do you have some sense of Ki sense that allows you to sense your opponents? Earlier you informed me of how you were able to sense a "tense wind" blowing. Is it like that?"

Deja merely smiled at Abrahams compliment and nodded. She listened to Tai Yang for a moment, allowing his words to soak in. "Ah... I am able to sense auras of others, entities, spirits... it is an art my Father taught me, and one I have chosen to sharpen since I have gone without sight. When I am on the grounds of many strong spirits, however, my sensitivity to them can become... fuzzy. As for me speaking of tense winds," She paused to chuckle, "I... speak a bit differently than my cohorts due to the way my father raised me. If I can sense danger, or a possible threat near, I try to make it as apparent as I can."

Dejas head turned towards Abraham, her white hair blowing with the wind a bit. "If I am not mistaken, sir Abraham... and I... hope to not come off as too quizzical, is there... an entity within your steel? I feel another presence beside us."

Abraham clasped Tai Yang's hand in a firm grip, shaking it politely. Based upon the other student's mannerisms, it was fairly clear that he wasn't familiar with the concept of a handshake; If given the chance later, he made a mental note to explain it, and perhaps clear up the confusion. For now, however, his gaze turned once more towards Deja, cocking his head slightly in surprise.

This one. I like this one.

That's because she actually noticed you, Fury.

"There is." He admitted, nodding slightly. "I've never quite decided what to refer to him as, and he hasn't been helpful enough to offer up a suggestion. Nor does he seem to have much of a name. I asked him what to call him when I first encountered him, and he only told me to call him 'Fury'. My grandfather informs me that as far as anyone can tell, it's the only name he's ever gone by."

Tai Yang

Tai Yang quickly caught onto the idea of a firm but not competitive shake. He seemed to be quite pleased to have navigated the greeting ritual without too much discomfort or embarrassment to either of them. It helped that the audience was blind.

"Your father passed on a marvelous ability. That we all could learn such skills." Tai Yang responded to Deja calmly. But he expressed mild surprise at the mention of another entity, Fury. Not, alarmed or discomforted surprise, but the surprise of discovery.

"Fury? That is an unusual choice for a moniker." Tai Yang mused. "Does he have a reason for his name, or is all else silence?"

Deja moved closer to Abraham and slowly moved her hand down to feel the blade, but stopped just short. She raised her head toward Abraham in question. "May I feel your .... Fury, sir Abraham?" She wouldn't have caught the nod that Abraham had done whilst speaking with her, nor the awkwardness of her friend Tai Yang. Yet she turned her head towards him as she waited for Abrahams answer.

"May I ask, whom has trained you? I heard your battle and understand that it went smoothly. Please, tell me, what do you consider yourself sir?" She had no idea that Tai Yang or Abraham were just as human as she, but that did not matter. In her world blood and expertise had always meant more than species or race.

"Are you okay? Your arms..."

Slowing down automatically, he gave the librarian an interesting smirk for such questions, though internally grimacing at the burns on his arms, “I’m quite alright, nothing a little sweet treat can’t distract me from…you did good back there, Miss Begay. I don’t think Aurora could have done too much back there, herself, and I’m sure she’ll understand what you did back there for her...when she comes to her senses.” Really feeling the burn, though in time, it would probably heal up in a week or so…Aram tilted his head back, and caught a conjured sweet in his mouth, no arms necessary. Sizing up the woman for a moment while rolling the hard candy along in his mouth with his tongue, “I’m sorry I have to ask this of you on the first day of the school year, but can you bring Aurora to her room on your own? I’d insistent on doing it myself, but well, you know…” Looking down at his arms for a fraction of a second, “I wouldn’t want to agitate the burns. I’m sure they’ll heal up soon enough…but for now, I have to ask this of you.”

Turning this time to the boy he’d have dragged along, who seems to already know of Aurora…Aram wasn’t sure, as they felt completely different, and the demon lost a portion of his magical sensing…but the youth, maybe an incubus? Well, not every good looking person could be an incubus, or else he might as well assume half the school was this. So, he pushed his thoughts aside, “If you know Miss Aurora, please help Miss Begay with bringing her to her room to recover…and don’t worry, the academy is doing the best it can at this present time. We have everything under control, and any problems will soon be brought to working order. If you have any questions, please bring them to the headmistress on another day, other than today or tomorrow. Thank you, and take care of yourself.” Thanking others for finally listening to you, ah, must have been the high of his pain induced delirium.

"To all the staff present and functional, please bring the students to their dorms and tend to any injuries they may have sustained. After that, please join me for a mandatory and immediate staff meeting. That is all.”“Pollux-san, if your injuries continue to worsen, please feel no obligation to attend the meeting if you cannot do so. I understand we are lacking a school nurse,"

Hearing thoughtful and sensible voices in his head...a case of delirium he could come to like. Giving the boy a nod, and reaching a pained arm up to pat him on the shoulder…the demon turned to head down the halls, giving Miss Begay a final look, a reassuring smile, and a few choice words… “Take your time, make sure she's comfortable. I will see you at the staff meeting in a few minutes, won’t I?” Before finally leaving to make his way to the headmistress’s office, his face taking on a more sombre look as he passed by the damages.
"....Toaster-san. You're late."

While saying this to him, she cleaned some of the dirt from his metal body, making his eyes go wide like saucers. Ah, such a merciful, benevolent being! Toaster would follow her through hell and back, he’d die in the line of fire for this kind of leader! Nuzzling into the headmistress’s arms, he stared up at her face, ”I WAS NOT WORRIED FOR YOUR SAFETY, OVERLORD HEADMISTRESS-SAMA! FOR I, TOASTER HELLBEAST, OUT OF ALL YOUR UNWORTHY PEONS…BELIEVED IN YOUR COMPLETE VICTORY!”

Pausing for a moment, held in her arms, he blushed (or a toaster’s equivalent of a blush) before finally speaking again, “BUT, I-I-I DO ADMIT, OVERLORD HEADMISTRESS-SAMA…IF YOU WERE TO EVER FALL IN BATTLE, A GREATER PART OF THIS MIGHTY TOASTAR BEESTEH WOULD—“ At that moment, the headmistress set him back onto the ground in order to speak with a student. The toaster beast made little whining and cute ‘kyuuuu, kyuuuuu~!’ and 'OVERLORD HEADMISTRESS-SAMA~!' sounds at this, as he alternated between gently pawing at the headmistress’s leg, hopping up and down, or circling around for the headmistress’s attention.

"Yes, I'll see you there." Key watched Aram leave with a small frown on her face. He'd assured her that he was fine, but somehow she didn't believe this. The burns looked awfully painful, and even the headmistress had noticed. She sighed, placing her hand on the head of Aurora, who was still leaning on her. "Let's go then, to the dorms. I have to attend a meeting, so you'll have to stay with her," she said to the boy who had been dragged with them.

The walk was not a short one and it gave her some time to think about all that had transpired. It had been brought up that the influx of students this year could be nature's way of combating some sort of "evil." Key had thought that this was an exaggeration. So more students wanted to learn? What did that have to do with nature. It would be different if they were animals, but people, she thought, had more free will than that. However, it seemed that the first assumption had been correct, and perhaps these students were a foreshadowing that something bad was coming to the academy.

And then there was this girl who seemed to have no control over her powers. In fact, from what Key had seen, she wasn't even sure what powers she actually had. This was something Key could relate to. She'd gone through a whole life before she had figured out exactly what she was, and still, there were some things she wasn't sure of. Aurora, though, seemed a different story. Her powers were just awakening, and they were taking the poor girl by surprise. Key was not an expert on supernaturals and had no idea what was happening to the girl, though, and couldn't be of much help except as a comfort.
