[OOC] Werewolves in the City

THIS IS STILL ACCEPTING CHARACTERS!

It was three months ago that two of your fellow pack members were caught murdering humans for fun. At first, it was believed that the humans had just though an animal was committing these crimes. Then, a rumor began to circulate around the small town. A rumor of a wolf who had changed into a man. Most laughed this off as a silly story, one that couldn't possibly be true.

However, there were some that did not.

These people burnt your home to the ground, along with some of your pack members. They gave no mercy, and your home was gone in a puff of smoke. The two who had started this were put to death, but this did not give your pack somewhere to go.

You have no left your home in the mountains and moved to the city until a new location can be decided upon. So far, it has been slow going, and no one is happy about this arrangement.

Something is coming, something worse than what has already befallen the pack your pack healer, Kiara, continues to warn. What will you do when it comes?

Okay, so. That's a brief intro into this roleplay. You will be a member of a pack of werewolves who have lost their home and are now making due in the city. I will not be naming a specific one because it honestly doesn't matter, and I don't want any specific landmarks in this RP. If you'd like, we can decide on a name for it together. This will be very player driven. There will be an overarching plot which will be introduced slowly throughout the story. The players have the option to follow after this right away, or save it until another part of this plot is introduced.

This will be a modern day, modern world RP. So yes, there are cell phones, cars, and computers.

There may be some mature themes, such as violence or romance and extreme loss. However, though gore doesn't bother me, keep in mind that it might offend some of your fellow roleplayers. Also, obviously, keep smut out of this roleplay.

Now, the werewolves themselves. They can shift at will, and they DO shift into wolves, not some kind of mutant. On a full moon, they will shift involuntarily. In human form, they are stronger and faster than humans, but not so much that it is entirely noticeable.

Kiara stands at 5'5'' and has a slender build, as expected.

Wolf:


History: Kiara was trained to be pack healer all of her life by her mother. However, she had not expected to take over so soon. When her mother died in the fire, Kiara was forced to look after all of the wounded on her own with the incomplete training she had received. Since moving to the city, she has been having nightmares. Some of these tell of things to come, and some show her what has already happened. One thing is clear though, there is something evil out there.

Personality: Kiara is not soft-spoken, but not loud either. Her presence commands respect from most people, as without her, they would not be able to survive. However, she never expects this from anyone and is always looking out for the pack. She is kind and willing to help anyone in need, even if they might not exactly be friendly. The one thing she loves more than her pack, though, is dancing. Kiara feels as if she can express herself through it more easily than through her words. Because of this, and the way she was raised, Kiara tends to be what you would call "spiritual," especially because she is one of the very few in the pack who are in touch with what some call magic.

Goal in Life: To keep the pack out of harms way, at all costs.

Other: Her left thigh has a large burn scar from the fire which can also be seen in her wolf form, she has become increasingly self conscious about this.

Elena Black - Beta

Name: Elena Black
Age: 23
Position: Beta
Job: Kindergarten Teacher

Slightly shorter than her sister, Elena is 5'3.

Wolf:


History:As the second sister, Elena was not expected to take over for her mother. Because of this, she was free to live her life however she wanted. Perhaps anyone else would have been grateful for this, but she instead felt lost. Until the fire, she had just been trying to get through each day. First there was school, which she graduated with from honors. Then it was on to college, then to her new job. Everything she did was for the pack, after all, her money would be contributing to them. But Elena wanted more. She wanted to be like her older sister, in a real position to help. It was after the incident that she was given a purpose. Along with her mother and many others, the previous Beta had also perished. When she was chosen as the next, Elena could hardly believe it, but she is now happier than she's ever been. It's strange that everyone else is mourning while she is just starting her life. At night, when she hears her sisters cries, she almost feels bad.

Personality: For most of her life, Elena was in the background. She had never been one to stand out, mostly because she always felt like she was living up to her older sister's standards. It wasn't until she graduated and began working that her caring personality came through. Like her sister, she only wants what is best for the pack and would do anything to keep them out of harms way. But, there is more to her now than pack. Elena cares very deeply for the children she teaches as well, and that is what first started the change in her. It was for this reason that she was chosen as the next Beta. People had began to notice the smalll things she was doing for them, and could feel the warmth of her love and concern. Little by little, she has started to open herself to the people around her, including her sister, who she no longer feels inferior to.

Goal in Life: To show everyone in the pack that there is more to their lives than the things they've lost.

Other: Elena has a few scars on her stomach and thighs from childhood injuries, but she was not injured in the fire and has no burns.

Rex Noctem
Real Name: Unknown (he never tells)
Age: 27
Position: Rogue

Description: In human form, a little over six feet tall, with a waist-lenth ponytail, held back with a golden ring, and neatly trimmed goatee, both black. His eyes are gold, and while he isn't bulky, his muscles are large and well-defined. In lupine form, he is colossal, easily twice the size of a mundane wolf, with pitch-black fur and the same golden eyes. In either form, he is an utterly brutal fighter, being a master of some of the more deadly martial arts as well as animal combat. He is brusque and businesslike, generally remaining calm and collected, but will go into a terrifying bloodrage if those he cares about are threatened.

History: Not even the very few he calls friend have been let in on his past. All anyone knows is that he's spent time in the East, and has several very nasty scars.

Job: Martial arts sensei.
Life Goal: To help other werewolves survive and thrive in this hostile world.

Age: 25
Position: Scout (if not, then member)
Job: Unemployed (but will probably get a job down the road.)
Appearance: Human- Short, slim stature built for moving fast. Shoulder-length, frizzy, wavy black hair and pale yellowish eyes. Wears glasses and a very simple necklace her mother gave her. Dark-skinned, with long, sharp nails, usually painted. Usually wears a serious, thoughtful expression with thick, downturned lips. Wolf- Light brown with darker markings on her face and flanks, with smatterings of black hairs all around. Several nicks in her ears. White belly and tail-tip. Also small and built for speed.
History: Pretty uneventful. She's been interested in drawing and painting since she was small, and her parents, not wanting her to be seen as unimportant, started training her to run for long distances. Although she hated it at first, she quickly learned to enjoy it. Being someone who liked drawing from life, she also had a natural talent for observing, reporting and describing details. Thus it became her ambition to train for and become a scout. Her parents died during the loss of the pack's previous home, so the memory makes her either seethe with anger or tear up.
Personality: If she doesn't have anything important to say, she's more on the quiet side. As stated, her favorite hobby is visual art. She is loyal but prefers to express that by doing her best with her pack tasks rather than with words. Talking doesn't come very easy to her, but eavesdropping sure does. She carries a small sketchpad around with her wherever she goes to cure boredom. She's really enthusiastic about food and comfort, and likes word puzzles. Protective of even her crappy art. Easily-distracted and doesn't make decisions as fast as she probably should.
Goal in Life: Become a respected artist.

Name: Eric Levins
Age: 39(Appears 29)
Position: Alpha
Job: Eric runs Bar, well "commoners" call it a bar. He runs a fine establishment where people of all classes and trades can come, drink, and talk to their hearts content. He makes ample salary, but the true reason he has it is to run his Info-brokering. He keeps tabs on all around the city and across the Packs around the territories. This Establishments works as a bar, speak easy, and Lycanthrope housing unit for traveling shifters, abandoned shifters, or shifters on job with traveling work, such as espionage and courier work.

Appearance- Human & Wolf

In human form he stands 6'1" and is of athletic, muscular, but lean and wiry build.His wolf form is one of the reasons he is the Alpha, he is massive, standing nearly two and three-quarters as large as a regular wolf. His stature, accented by his valiant and almost Guardian nature make him grand Alpha, leader, and fighter.

History: Eric doesn't disclose much of his past, save for the fact he grew up outside of a pack, and his life has been a long journey, in short years.
Personality: Eric is a stout man, often giving only encouragement, wisdom, and firm tones. Though, his reasons are all just and for the greater good of his people. He can sometimes seem cold though due to his nature of firm tongue and stout body. He doesn't speak softly unless consoling the females of the pack or when speaking in private of a matter of personal or important nature for himself or someone else.His own true flaw, is his anger.. Eric is a steam canister, he is a perfect fuel for hours on end and can efficiently get the job done, but if you offset his pressure, by even the slightest bit, he could boil over into a bursting rage of hot steam, scorching all that stands in his path.
Goal in Life: Eric's goal is to concrete a community for the packs, and to live safely within a world, even if it is a secret one, where he can protect those he cares about and the ones he looks after under his leadership.
Other: He has a trio of slash mark scars across his right shoulder, a duet of scars singing across his lower back from one side to the other, and then a soft scar just on the outside of his left eye, where his eye-lids connect on the outer side of his face.

The alpha is almost three times as big as a normal wolf, my Rogue is twice as big, I'd estimate a regular werewolf would be between normal and one-and-a-half times size.

Age: 120

Job: well… he has a large income. But is retired.

Once a big strong body, now just a wide shouldered body with a little fat on it.


Though as a wolf it is easy to see how he could be an alpha once. And the strong energy still emits from his eyes. It is also clear that the years have taken its toll.

History: he was born in the year 1894 As a boy he lived on a poor farm. As a young man he first enlisted into the first world war and survived it with small cuts and gunshot wounds. In the second world war he was a part of a special team, which was composed only by shifters. After he came home from the war he built his own pack. At some point his first son tried to take the alpha spot, but Kalliades at the time strong and big believed his son was inadequate for the position of alpha and kicked his sons ass and banished him. His second son never wanted the position though Kalliades wanted him to take it. His daughter left with another male and began their own pack. For some time he kept in touch with his first son and daughter but with time the communication stopped. When he was seventy he could feel age was barring him down. Without much of a fuss he stepped down from the alpha spot and gave the position to the beta of the time. Since then the alpha has shifted many times. Though all the alphas looked up to kalliades, when they were in trouble. Since he was in bought wars and later worked as a carpenter his retirement fee is quite a sum. When the house was on fire, his second son, and one of his grandchildren burnt in it. All other grandchildren and grand-grandchildren are somewhere around the world. Most not even knowing that Kalliades is still alive.

Personality: Because of his long life, he hardly cares for anything. He is laid back and enjoys the free days he has. Mostly he doesn’t interfere with others problems since he can’t really understands them, but if anyone asks him about a problem or something he turns into a wise old man which has an answer for everything.

Goal in Life: Well… enjoy life and slowly greet death.

Other: His body has all sorts of scars. Till his ninetieth year he loved reading science books and all sorts of fantasy books. Also he loves riddles. Doesn’t like to talk about the wars.

Job: Retired Marine, occasionally takes odd jobs: bartending, security work, etc.

Personality: First and foremost Charlie is and always has been a soldier, and that means loyalty above and in all things. Generally speaking Charlie is a fun-loving guy who just wants to have a good time, or enjoy his drink in peace. For some reason however, trouble keeps seeming to find him and his friends, family, and bartenders, maybe he's bad luck, maybe it's Fate. But, while generally easy with the laughs and fairly slow to anger, once his anger has come out, there is little stopping the retired marine. And while not the biggest, though by no means little, nor the most intimidating, though by no means unimpressive, there is an air about Charlie, a certain, something that makes even the most fist-happy drunk, or ornery kid trying to make a name for himself, think twice before messing with him. Should one enter into his confidence and to hear of his stories, to share his scars, and to look deep into his sunken blue eyes, one would see, perhaps to one's surprise, perhaps not, that behind the layers of laughter and sadness lies the soul of a warrior of ages past: of ferocity, self-sacrifice, passion, steel, justice, and above all, discipline.

Goal in Life: To protect his Alpha and Pack from all harm, no matter the cause or sacrifice
Other: Is covered in scars, burns, and wounds in both wolf and human form, and in human form has several tattooes, the most prominent of which is a wolf's head that above it reads "Semper Fidelis, Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum" but when asked he generally replies "Scars' is just tatooes with better stories, and I gots plenty of both"

Working on the IC right now, have been exhausted all day, so I'm sorry it's taken so long.

Edit: IC is up! I've made it so the first person who posts gets to decide where the story will start. That night or the next morning.

Some background information. They live in a townhouse type place (there aren't very many of them left so one is enough). It has a few bedrooms, some of which are shared. You can determine that yourselves. I would say there are at least 4. I've already put the two sisters in two different rooms. There is a living room, kitchen, two bathrooms, and basement.
