No, trust me. Don't let their size mislead you. These books will become your life. I think I finished the whole series in about a month or two. Like seriously, it's just constantly sitting on the edge of your seat. Except for the Brienne chapters after she leaves King's Landing. To me they were the worst chapters in the book and generally caused me to dislike Brienne.

5 if you're American, 7 if you're from the UK.
Storm and Dance was split into two for some reason.
EDIT: Also two more planned books to go, so altogether there's going to be at least 7 or 9 depending where you're from.
