[IC] A Whole New World

"It sounds very interesting." Zack told her. He dug into the food once it was served. "What time we will go?" he asked. He planned to work on his sculpture if he could before they left.

"We'll leave after lunch" she said eating her breakfast with him "So we've got a bit of time yet so you can work on your sculpture beforehand" she said to him. After she'd finished she headed upstairs to go have a shower and let the plates soak in the sink for the time being.

"Good. You might have to remind me." Zack told her. He scrubbed the dishes from her before heading to the garage. He was going to finish his sculpture for her before they headed into town. He took his time making sure that the piece looked exactly like her.

Coming back down she noticed the dishes were done and smiled "Thanks for doing the dishes Zack" she smiled and settled down to do her own piece of art for the time being, she finished it few hours later and then let Calcifer out to play with, the bird loving all the attention and gladly played with her happily for a good while as well.

When the sculpture was finished he carried it into the house. He held it behind his back until he found her. "I finished the sculpture. Would you like to see it?"

Keita nodded and looked to him, when she did see it she was rather shocked "You did a statue of me?' she asked a little surprised but happy "Wow, it's amazing" she went over and touched it carefully "Where shall we put it then?" she smiled at him looking rather happy about it.

Zack beamed. He had been hoping that she would like the little statue he had sculpted. He had taken care to make it look as much like her as the wood would allow. "Do you really like it?" He ask shyly. Her opinion meant more to him then anyone else's. If she was just being kind he would be crushed. It would not matter if the whole world like it if she didn't. "You should put it somewhere special."

Keita nodded "yep, I never thought anyone would do a statue of me" she smiled and carefully took it off of him thinking for a moment "I know where I want to put it but I'll have to clear the space a little more for it, is it ok if I leave in my room for the moment, we're having lunch soon and going to the gallery and I want to be careful with it so I don't break it" she said and placed it down by the side of her bed on the cabinet for the time being. She then showed him where she wanted to put it and really did want t clear it up when they both got back form the gallery. "Anyway what do you want for lunch?" she said to him smiling quite happily still.

Zack felt his boy warm at her words. He was glad that she had a special place to put the little statue. He watched as she tucked the gift away. He approved of the place that she had picked out for the statue. It was perfect. He waited for her to return. "I don't know what the choices are. Chicken sounds good if you are ok with that."

Keita nodded and prepared some of the chicken she'd cooed the other night making a rather nice sandwich for them both and handed him his before she prepared her owns and sat down "Chicken salad sandwich so hope you enjoy it" she smiled and sat dan to eat thinking to herself for a a moment. "Ah that's right in a few days I'm picking up a foal, my other horse died a few years ago so I'm getting another one, I've been waiting for a good few months it's a young shire foal so quite a sturdy breed, also it'll help conserve petrol when it's older since they can pull huge loads with no problem when adults." she said to him "You can come with me for that as well, are you good with animals?"

"I am not sure that I am good with animals of your world. But I would love see a foal in person. If your animals like the ones from my world I should be able to help you some." Zack offered. He wasn't she that he understood everything she said but he would help her if he could. He was eager to see more of her world.

"Well a foal is a baby horse" she showed him a picture of a shire "this is an adult shire and this one here is a baby" she showed him the picture of the foal "In a few days the horse will be ready for transport which is what those buildings in those fields over there are for, it's a set of stables where many horses are kept by owners on the farm, we pay a rent for the stable and I've prepared a smaller stall for the foal while it calms down, the field behind my house will be where it'll spend most of it's time as an adult grazing" she said to him.

"That sounds interesting. You use this animal to get from one place to another?" Zack asked curiously. "That seems like a very odd use of an animal. Do you use other animals in this way? Doesn't that restrict where you can go and what you can take with you?"

"Some people do, not in the city though, usually we use cars but I prefer the old school transport in the cart, I'm fixing up an old farmer's cart that I have so we can use that instead when we need to get a lot of things, it's hard to get petrol in such a remote place after all" she said "and they're gentle creatures too and nope we don't usia;y; sue other animals for transport, not that I can remember, normally been horses" she explained and then grabbed her coat and a spare one for him that was a little big on her. She grabbed her keys after he'd finished up and then headed to the car with him in order to head to the gallery.

Zack was not sure that he approved of the idea of using an animal in such a way. But it sounded like they had been using horses this way for awhile. He would just have to wait and see how it was done. He could judge want he didn't understand. He went around to the other door and studied the vehicle. "This is another method of transportation?"

"Yeah it's a machine though" she said noticing he seemed a little confused about the horses still so decided to wait and show him as the horse grew up. "But it uses petrol which like I said for me is a little hard" she smiled and got in waiting for him to get in and showed him how to do up the seatbelt. "Ok then and off we go" she started the car and drove them to the gallery parking up outside before she looked to him and stopped the car, taking her keys out "Ok here we are"

Zack was amazed by the speed of the car. It wasnt as fast as his ship had been but it was alot faster then walking. He wondered how the car compared to the horse. He had a feeling that the horse was alot slower. Which meant when she took the horse to town it would take alot longer. "Why do you live so far away if it is hard for you to get the fuel you need for the car?"

"Because i don't like living in the city, also I struggle to breath with all the pollution in the air there so I need to live somewhere with fairly clean air" she explained to him as she let him out of the car and locked it "Shall we go in then, there are a few picture and statues here so should be fun"

"Do all cities have pollution." Zack asked worriedly. Surely the people of this world were working on a way to correct the problem. Surely there were places she could live that were closer to town but didnt have pollution that seemed to be a problem. Did the planet only have big cities or open spaces? Zack was not sure that he liked that idea.

"Ah don't panic, they are working on it, but it's mostly the huge amount of fumes from cars that triggers off my breathing problems and my inhalers help anyway" she said noticing eh was worried "There are places between the two but also since I did have a horse the place where I live is better for that" she said softy and held his hand walking into the gallery with him.
