Welcome to The Runners RP.

Chronological Timeline

1896 - Time Travel is introduced, but never researched, nor worked on.

1938 - 1988 - Time Travel is proposed and researched. By 1954, the world’s first time travelling object, a paper clip, goes forward 15 minutes into the future.

2002 - Time Travel is sold as a personal novelty for those who can afford it.

2004 - The World Time Travel Inc. is broken into, and it’s records and documents are used for illegal time travel.

2005 - The FBI creates a section of officers known as “Time Hunters.” Their job - find and arrest illegal travellers through time and location.

2007 - The Time Hunters is disbanded, causing a large amount of public worry and government disbelief.

2018 - The former members of the Time Hunters band together to form the “League of Rogue Hunters” and plan to kill all illegal time travelers, with secret government funding.

2037 - World powers clash to try and conquer time travel. They fail.

Backstory

The year is 2037. The world is in a frenzy as they try to stop Time Travel. You are either a traveller or a hunter. Hunters kill the travellers. Travellers run from the hunters, or they stay and fight them off. Either way, both sides are unstoppable.

The hunters are coming to kill all travelers, whether illegal or not. The UN has declared war against time travelers, and they have funded all of their money on the “League of Rogue Hunters.” No one knows where they will be next, but they will use any force they can get their hands on.

Time travel can only be accessed in two ways - a Phantomgate or a Keyhole. Phantomgates are portable, but they can only last 3 - 4 travels. Keyholes are not portable, but they can used an infinite amount of times. Choose your poison.

Hunters are trained and taught in Hunter Embassies. Travellers should beware of these.

Hi, just some questions, this looks a bit interesting.
1.Do the people in the past (before time travel was invented) know about time travel? I mean if all these rich people can just go back, wouldn't everyone there know people from the future, and share technology and stuff like that? Unless there is a law to keep it secret.

2.Are there laws strictly made so that people do not change things too much in the past? Because this roleplay Is just asking for the time paradoxes.

3. What kind of weapons are there, and the tech level of the world at 2037? And are there any specific Hunter anti-traveller weapons?

Thanks for reading.

Thank you for asking! I did leave a lot of space for questions.

1. The machines that allow time travel (phantomgates and keyholes) cannot go past the 20th century in time. This was built in after an incident during the Civil War.

2. Yes, but many people ignore these laws as the time travel mechanisms are in a mode/position that do not allow interaction with anything during the time that they went back to. To make it simple, it is impossible to go back in time and kill your grandfather. You CAN, however, interact with other time travellers who are there at that time period. So, if you're in 1984, and a hunter goes back in time to 1984, you can kill him.

3. Well, I've been coming up with weaponry as I continue to work on this roleplay. I do already have a set arsenal for each side.

I'll work on the rest of them later. Tech will be uploaded soon.

Thanks, I think I will play as a Hunter, hopefully we can get some more players. I'm guessing that a lot of the Travellers will probably loot weapons from dead Hunters, so they might use the same weapons?

But Damn, that Nomad Pistol is a must have.

Haha yeah, it's a great arsenal of super weapons, but many of them are not portable, and the prototype hunter guns are known to malfunction. Still, this is a great opening. I'll finish up the Traveller weapons in half an hour.

Forgive me for my long time making a character, I'm new to roleplaying. I know it's a hunter, but I'm still pinning down the backstory.

The Traveller weapons look nice, one question, do both groups know each others weapons and are improvising?

It's fine really, I've been focusing on other RPs, but I do check back here. The Hunters do not understand Traveller weaponry, but they have captive Travellers that try to explain it. The Travellers weaponry is built from Hunter weaponry, so yes, they do understand how it works and they both use it to a certain extent.

I'm sorry, but I'm completely stumped, and tbh it looks like no one else is even showing interest.

I'll keep checking, if I see another character, I might start, but other than that, pretty much consider me out, I'm sorry.
