Tinkerer - Quallyss is a savant with steam engines, gadgets, etc, and with the right parts available, can make all sorts of modifications to equipment, as well as completely new devices for use in and out of combat.

Info: A clockwork companion standing a 6 feet tall, Quallyss built it for his final project in the Guild, gave it a sentience of sorts and uses him to carry his various equipment packs. It is very obedient, mute, and will follow orders from anyone Quallyss has allowed. It also has an obsession for collecting and scrap booking flowers (Quallyss is still trying to fix that). It is unable to fight, due to safety mechanisms Quallyss built into it, and will hide from confrontation.

Skills: Agile – Being a Cathian means Quallyss is extremely nimble and quick, able to traverse environments vertically as well as horizontally.

Equipment/Weapons:
Brewer's Kit – A small pack for travelling merchants, it can be used over a camp fire to brew potions. Also comes with bottles to store them for later use.
Tool kit – A small tool kit, with all manner of tiny spanners, wrenches and hammers, used to repair things in the field.
A flintlock pistol, custom made by Quallyss. Due to it being smaller than average, it isn't very powerful.
Personality: Slightly Insane, savant, grumpy, flighty..

History: From a young age, Quallyss was obssessed with machines, wondering what made them tick and how he could make it better, spending hours digging through scrap metal looking for parts in the local junkyard. In his hometown of Blesda, however, his parents ran a herbal healing store, so he was forced to learn the traditional family profession of potion brewing, making him an excellent alchemist.

Eventually, Quallyss was sick and tired of his life in Blesda, so he ran away to join the T.A.C Engineering Guild, where he outclassed and outshone his peers in Mechanical Imbuement (The art of animating machines by unconventional means). Shortly after graduating, he was sent as part of a 20 man expedition that was, as specified by T.A.C, 'of the utmost importance', where Quallyss was considered a 'much needed expert'.

No one is sure what happened, but the group went missing, and a rescue team was sent to search for survivors. Many days later, they arrived at the forest, and at the mouth of a large cave, were what remained of the team: dismembered limbs and heads of the horses and soldiers and a Cathinian, laughing hysterically, completely naked and covered in blood, screaming out phrases such as “All gone... Job's done now, JOB'S DONE NOW! We got him, HUZZAH! NO MORE TEARS, NO MORE TEARS!'

Quallyss was treated for insanity, and is currently still recovering from the ordeal (whatever it was), though he has regained some of his senses. He currently works for T.A.C. as a professor of the Engineering guild, often tormenting his students with impossible projects and tests, as well as throwing things at them when they talk in class.

Misc: While considered unfit for duty, Quallyss has proven invaluable in understanding and investigating rogue sentient gizmos and mechanical beasts. This is the ONLY reason he isn't locked up in a mental ward.(his students would much rather him gone). Also, he has an unusual obsession with ticking clocks, sometimes loving the sound, other times hating it.

Type: Animal
Info: A fuerren, Chi is of a similar shape and size to large fox, with wide wings, however his tail is perpetually burning with ethereal flames, as are his ears. For the most part the flames are intangible, however when frightened scared or angry the flames can spread to cover his body in a unique magefire.

Skills: Connor is a talented Mage, and can use all four elements with equal skill and level of distraction, though fire tends to be his magic of choice. He is also a brilliant investigator, with a keen eye an near photographic memory, as well as a repository of knowledge on everything from shrubbery to wild life to politics and is an excellent shot with a pistol. The main drawback to all of this is that his head is kind of a train wreck of thought. He also plays the tin whistle when he can find it.

Appearance:

He is tall at almost 2.5 meters, he is slim and wiry.

Equipment/Weapons: Connor wears a thick leather cloak with hood over a ludicrous assortment of fools motley covering his skin made of a lightweight material, and a mask over his face. In the way of weapons he carries a long metal staff with a smooth crystal that has a core of ever changing colors, in the top, which helps amplify his battle magics, and a long barreled ornamented slender revolver he keeps hidden in his motley.

Personality: Scatterbrained, happy-go-lucky, moody, occasionally overly dramatic

History: Connor was raised devoutly PRO-TAC by his parents. His mother was a fairly well respected medicinal alchemist in Imygden an his father was an adequate Battle Mage With TAC prior to an in field injury, causing him to no longer be able to be in the field. From an early age it was rather apparent that Connor had a natural affinity for the more magical aspects of life and while most magics were available to him he fell in love with fire magic. As a young boy he nearly burnt the house down several times simply seeing what he could do. It was the last straw when at twelve Connor nearly burnt down the entire neighborhood with a fire he had shaped into a dragon. When asked what in the name of gnoll he was thinking Connor, peevishly pointed out it wasn't the dragon made of fire that almost burnt down the neighbor hood... It was the fire shooting out of his mouth that did it. With that he was sent to the academy to receive proper training and instruction. It was there they learned that Connor could draw on most of the elements with equal strength, he simply preferred fire the most. They also found that he was overly inquisitive, and ha an impossibly keen eye for the slightest of details. He quickly flew through training and became a TAC investigator. He is probably the least mature of any of them.

Misc: While he tends to be overly positive he is much like a manic depressive in that at the drop of a hat he may switch from being overly happy to such a deep melancholy that he is made almost entirely unrecognizable. In these periods he is less scatterbrained, but much darker, and he prefers to use water and earth magics.

After reading the OOC info on classes, I have a dilemma...

My character would be much more suited to a T.A.C. Investigator than a soldier, but has no magical abilities to speak of. That makes it impossible for Quallyss be a T.A.C. Investigator then, right? I don't mind, I just thought it was interesting o.O

What if the magic used is minor in nature? Like a paranormal mediumship (communicating with the dead)? Your character could technically get classed into the Investigator group, even if you aren't wielding spells like the others.

Then again, not everyone has to be a sleek in combat, especially if you are an alchemist.

Info: Lysander was rescued as a cub by Allan after the bear's mother had been killed by hunters. The bear took well to Allan, who nurtured and cared for Lysander, and he is now totally loyal to Allan. When Lysander began to show signs of aging in his 10th year, After being horribly maimed and having Lysander save his life, he realized how dependent he had become on his friend, and had an alchemist draught an elixir to extend the bear's life, which must be administered once a week or Lysander will begin aging again. Physically, Lysander is about 8 or 9, but he has been taking the elixir for four years, and if the supply is cut off, he will begin to age rapidly. His natural lifespan, should he stop taking the elixir, will be approximately 20 years.

Skills: Skilled with most weapons before his augmentations, his augmented strength allows him to wield even two-handed swords with the ease of a rapier, and he can shrug off most glancing blows as though they were nothing, though a well-aimed shot to the torso will still cause internal bleeding and possibly organ failure. He is a skilled tracker and survivalist, and is competent with thrown weapons. Due to his military training, he has some experience directing small squads of people, but since he never sought a commission, it is somewhat limited. He has a surprisingly good singing voice, and a knack for storytelling, and is able to make a fine meal out of even simple ingredients.

Appearance:

Equipment/Weapons: His bodily enhancements include partial skeletal replacement, clockwork joints, high-tension cables in place of ligaments in his arms and legs, and a gyroscope/suspension system to replace his crushed pelvis. Around his belt are a number of hammers, balanced for throwing but each weighing around 10 pounds. Few others possess the strength necessary to throw them with any degree of effectiveness. Slung across his back is a prodigious blade, approximately two meters long and weighing at least 15 kilos.It seems to be cold-forged steel, and gleams with a black luster. In addition to these are a steel breastplate, painted with black lacquer to make it less noticeable from a distance, a cloak with the TAC emblem emblazoned on the back, sturdy boots, well-made traveling clothes, and a maintenance kit for his mechanical parts, without which he would begin to rust and his joints risk locking up. Also, several months' supply of Lysander's anti-aging elixir, snares for trapping game, and cookware for preparing meals.

Personality: Humble, selfless, hard-boiled, soft spoken

History: Growing up in an ostensibly pro-HALO household, Allan lived a simple life in the country for the most part, but after his father took the family on a trip to the city, Allan's eyes were opened to the wonders of technology and how prevalent it was in the more urban areas. When he was 12, he saved a bear from certain death after he found its mother dead nearby, and he took the bear in, raising him like a younger brother. He made a few more trips to the city, but for the most part, he stuck to life on the farm. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the military, serving for three years and rising to the rank of Sergeant (or in-universe equivalent) before he was allowed to return home at the end of a successful campaign. One day, while tilling a field, he was grievously maimed by farm equipment, and if it weren't for Lysander, would have bled to death. His parents took him to the city to seek treatment, but refused to pay when they learned the only option was to restore his functions through mechanical augmentation. Allan paid what he could with his soldier's pay, but his only option was to pledge his services to the Arcane Coalition to pay off his treatment. After extensive rehabilitation and specialized training, he is now prepared to set out with the Coalition with Lysander in tow, leaving his furious but narrow-minded parents behind.

Exactly my thoughts. My character isn't very good at combat, understandably. But I'm ok with that, I'm a healer ^^. And I guess something like Mechanized Imbuement is technically an enchanting spell, just an extensive one that takes months to complete.

Info:The bird's creation is a little disturbing to say the least. The body comes from an actual taxidermy model of what was an actual humming bird. The flesh has constructed with durable fabrics but lacks any interior. Instead of stuffing, Henry has nothing but machinery inside to power "his" functions. Those functions include: flying, basic counting, Morse code communication, and infrared and ultraviolet optics. Henry is capable of managing these variety of tasks due to a preserved raven's brain, located in the skull. As you can imagine, the sole purpose of Henry is to scout out areas and relay that information using Morse code. The infrared and ultraviolet optics are utilized to help see "invisible" beings such as ghosts and the like as well as regular physical being. Henry was requisitioned after Emilia's second year as a TAC Soldier. Rumor has it that Henry was Emilia's pet before it passed.

Skills: Emilia is first and foremost a veteran of TAC which has disciplined her very much in her detective skills and her combat skills. Outside of that, she is said to have a talent for painting and gardening.

Equipment/Weapons:




Personality: Uptight, Strong, Distant, Sympathetic

History: Emilia comes from a very long line of military officers dating all the way back to the Battling Era. The tradition was that the first born would carry on the Marcheford name and sign on with whatever military the region was currently assigned. There were no stipulations made concerning beliefs or possible atrocities the army may have committed, the Marcheford "heir" would sign on regardless. The current generation of Marcheford's is located in Kingdom of Imygden which meant that the heir, Emilia, would sign on for Imygden's military.

She served for Imygden's military for seven years, starting at the age of 18. She ended with the rank of Captain before being invited to the Arcane Coalition's special task force. Emilia was devoted and well committed with the task force. Her service is near flawless, save for a few early blemishes when she first started out. and a rather recent, horrific incident with a pack of clever wargs. Emilia was tasked with the search and elimination of those nasty canine-like beasts that threatened a small farm family. Not exactly glamorous work, but it was a mission nonetheless. The family ended up butchered when the wargs got hungry after all the farm animals were consumed. Emilia just took to long to find them and they ultimately paid the price. Emilia got some nasty scars from that as well.

Technically, all TAC officers who specialize in magic are designated investigators. Now a character could have a trait that has minor magic usage like seeing in the dark, or able to communicate with spirits, but TAC soldiers aren't trained at all by the coalition to harness that (I'll edit the OOC about that part of the class soldier). As you mentioned Kye, they make up for this by having enchantments. I'll try and flush out more details on the TAC by today, including our specific unit.

I'll also be going over everyone's sheets as soon as I'm done here at work.
