Haden
"Feel free to look around, I've got to gather up the papers I have to give you all." Undoing the zip of his dufflebag he let his eyes drift down to its contents making sure that he had everything he would need to protect the girls; laying motionless in the bag was his bow and quiver the arrows laying in wait ready to be used at any moment. Satisfied that they were protected at least he looked back over at the guy as he moved about shuffling around papers and other items as he gathered what looked to be old files. "Sorry if it took a long time. I have got some things you should read, some written by me, and some from the old world. Let me know if you have questions, or if you want to see the other realm for yourselves when you are done reading." Reaching out he reluctantly took the file that was offered to him his eyes following it as he lifted it up taking a look just at the front of the manila cover with his names on it; Haden/ Derek.
Moving over to the table he placed the folder down flipping open the cover so that he could look over everything that was inside, this had to be some kind of prank... But then if it was a prank, how were they in another country? His lips parted slightly his eyes widening in surprise as they fell on a photo of a young familiar boy holding his very first bow up for everyone to see, "T-That's me... But-..." He was speaking mainly to himself as he slid the photo to the side his eyes quickly flicking over the writing on the pages that came with it, some seemed years old where others were more recent; all though were about his past. He lent over the table staring intently as he concentrated on what information had been given to him; he was a prince... And his name was Derek... Well it certainly had a better ring to it than Haden, but then he liked both; argh, decisions are always so hard.
His eyes flicked to the next page as he moved the details about himself and his parents over, his face scrunched up slightly in confusion; whatever he was reading was like something out of a fairy tale. The arrangement with the kingdom across the sea has been made; when they come of age Princess Odette is to become Prince Derek's bride. This will help unite the two lands and bring hope to the people who live under our rule. Uberta~ Uberta? Odette? His eyes flicked back to the page about his family searching the page until they came to a stop on his mothers name; Uberta, so that was his mother... And Odette? So she was this fiance he supposedly had. Reaching up he ran his fingers through his hair ruffling it slightly before he let his bag drop to the ground his attention going back to read more. Flicking through some more pages he stopped his heart freezing in his chest as he caught sight of an envelope with his name on it.
Picking it up he turned it over opening it up before he pulled out the letter something small and delicate falling into his hand as he tipped it upside down, lifting it up with his free hand he stared at the beautiful swan shaped pendent that looked exactly like the one he had been drawing before he looked to the handwritten letter for answers:
Dear Derek,
My son... I know that by the time you get this, you will be long grown up into the strong man that I always wished you to be. Giving you up was the hardest choice I have ever had to make, but I wanted you to have your best chance at surviving. I know you must resent me for my decision, but know that I was only thinking of you and your future when I sent you away. You must have so many questions running through your mind right now... I'm so sorry that I can't be there to answer them all, but I will do my best in this letter.
As you would have been told by now, you are a Prince. By the time you get this letter it will have been sixteen years since we last saw each other, my dear. On that day, evil spread throughout the land taking over the kingdoms and sending everyone and everything into an eternal darkness. We did all we could to protect our families and our kingdoms but it was not enough, and as a last resort many of us sent our children away from this world, praying that they would be able to grow up without fear and danger... You were one of those children... I don't know who the others are and I don't know where you have been taken, but you are in my thoughts and I always wake up everyday with the hope of once again seeing you.
The hope was that one day, when you were all old enough, you would return and help once again restore the balance to the world; taking your places as rulers of the different kingdoms. I know that this is a lot to take in right now, and I am so sorry, but there is also one more thing you must know... When you were younger the King of another kingdom and I made an arrangement that when you were both of age, his daughter would be married to you. Her name is Odette. You were both so young when you met so I don't expect that you would remember her, however I have enclosed a necklace with a pendent of a swan. There are two of these necklaces. You have one; she, your fiance, has the other. It's how you'll know when you find each other.
Whether you choose to come back or not, that is up to you. I want you to know, that no matter what you choose to do from here, I am proud of you and will always be in your heart. I don't know if we'll ever see each other again, but know that I love you very much; I always have, and always will my son.
Uberta~
His hands dropped to the table the letter dropping onto the rest of the file as he tried to take in everything he had just learnt about himself, after a few moments he gritted his teeth standing up straight his hands coming up to fumble around the back of his head lowering only once the necklace hung around his neck; the thick silver chain standing out against his skin. Crouching down he pulled out his quiver slinging it over his head so that it could rest on his back, the arrows moving around behind him; pulling out his bow he stared down at it before he stood up tall slinging it over his shoulder as he turned to look at the other three, "I don't know what you guys are going to do. But, I'm going home to help my family... And to find my girl."
Elise
She closed her soft ice blue eyes her worry becoming clear on her face even after all that effort of trying to be brave for her friend, truth was she was scared. More than scared; she had promised Ender that she would stay out of trouble and getting lost was definitely finding herself into trouble. She shouldn't of left him, she should of just stayed put in the room until he woke up. Her arms wrapped around her friend hugging her tightly as she stared over her shoulder and down at her hands which were covered by her long white sweater the ends damp from her being upset. "I'm sorry El, I'm just really freaked out. We'll find a way out of this, I'm sure. We need to stay together. That is what is most important right now.." Why was this happening? What had Ender told her... Closing her eyes she took a deep breath letting it out slowly her mind thinking back to what she had been told, Don't show it Elsa... You can get into trouble if anyone found out... Keep it hidden... I don't want to lose you again...
"Perhaps. Are you two lovely angels lost?" She pulled away from Bella looking over at the guy who had spoken to the two of them her eyes flicking over his appearance. His dark brown hair looked as though it hadn't been brushed for a couple of days and though it was nothing like the guys she knew it didn't look too bad a style on him, the color standing out against his skin complementing his deep brown eyes. He had that charm to him, that confidence that escaped a lot of the guys she met back in school but he also screamed cockiness; a ladies man who thought he could have all he wanted at the snap of a finger. Royal or not, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction; and she knew for a fact that neither would Bella.Turning around she stood beside her quietly listening as the conversation took place before her, her guard working over time at both listening to make sure nothing was said that shouldn't, and that she could continue hiding whatever was going on with her.
"Yes we are. Could you please tell us that name of this place, and perhaps direct us to an inn where we might get a room?" While her friend bowed her head out of respect to the royal something felt strange keeping the girl standing tall with her head held high as she continued to silently be apart of the exchange of words, lifting her hand she gently brushed back some strands of her long blonde locks neatly tucking them into place behind her ear; her fingers leaving a soft shine behind as tiny particles of ice formed along her hair, "My friend is looking for someone. Someone named 'Ender'. Do you perhaps know him or where we could find him?" Her eyes widened slightly, if this guy was a royal then he obviously knew of this enchantress woman that Ender had been telling her about when they had first met and when they had been in the tavern, reaching around with her free hand she took hold of Bella's arm squeezing lightly her panic causing her friends sleeve to become cold holding a winter chill.
"Now, now Bella... We don't need to bother this man anymore than we already have. I believe I know where we need to go, come on. People are waiting for us." Ender had been running from the enchantress and if this man knew her and found out that he was hiding within the town, and in tow, hiding her; they were both done for it. Softly she tugged on her arm trying to remain as calm and confident as she could as she tried to lead her friend away from him and the castle. The last thing she wanted was to cause trouble for anyone, and this man standing with them just screamed trouble.
Ursula
"M-My Queen, I-I'm sorry! I just need more time! Please, I know I can get her to love me, just please; look into your heart, I just need two more... No! One more day. Please have mercy on me!" Narrowing her metallic silver eyes she eyed the merman that knelt before her pleading his case to have his contract modified and extended, "You wish for mercy? We had a contract! Three days to make the woman of your dreams fall in love with you. You failed and now you will pay the price, your here so that I can collect the collateral you knew was on the table." She pushed away from the thrown her body falling down gracefully through the water until it hit the ground where he was kneeling, smirking softly she lent over her hand gently hooking under his chin guiding his head up so that he could look her in the eyes, "You poor unfortunate soul... You just wish for someone to love you... Let's see if I can think of something that might work out for both of us, hm?"
She stood up tall her hands resting gently on her slender hips while her long black tentacles flicked up and down wrapping around whatever they could in a possessive way as she thought about how she could make this deal better for her, "You wish to have love... And you wish for a couple of extra days... Am I correct?" She turned away as she spoke her mind whirling with ideas until it came to a stop on the one that gave her more than she thought she could out of this deal, flinging her arms out she turned to face him her eyes wide and a large smile on her face, "I have it!" She replaced her hands on her hips one of her tentacles holding out a glowing scroll while another held out an inkwell and quill, "I will give you two more days to get the love of your life; but if you fail... Your family will become the collateral... I will own not only your soul... But theirs as well. Do we have a deal..?" She held the contract and the quill out to him watching as he reached out signing his name at the bottom of it, as soon as it was done she clicked her fingers causing them to disappear, "Get him out of here, and remember... Two days..."
Your Majesty... Word has come in from the Enchantresses castle. The Queen needs more seaweed for her spa." Ursula turned her gaze from the doors the man she had just created a contract with now long gone from her sight as new matters were brought to her attention, turning her body around she narrowed her eyes at the one who had spoken to her, "More? We sent through a shipment just the other day and now she wishes for more? What the hell was wrong with the last batch? Not slimy enough I presume." Lifting her hand she rubbed her eyes a soft sigh escaping through her lips before she spoke again, "Ready my carriage and load the next shipment onto it at once... It is time I made a little visit to our friends upstairs..." Flicking her free hand she shooed him away her body floating back up to her thrown, reaching out she took a hold of the large golden trident that was now hers and with it, control over the seven seas.
After a few moments of admiring the beautifully crafted instrument she was interrupted, "My Queen... Your ride to the surface awaits you." Nodding in acknowledgement she followed him through the halls a soft crackling gaining her attention as her sweet pets joined at her side floating along without a care in the world, reaching out with her free hand she gently scratched under the closest ones chin, "My darling boys! Come to see mummy off have we? How sweet." Climbing up into the carriage she sat back the reigns in her hands, "Floatsom! Jetsom! Be good little boys, and if your lucky, mummy might bring you back a treat..." She flicked the reigns sending the two stunningly beautiful hippocampus shooting through the water along the familiar course towards the Enchantresses domain.
After what seemed like a lifetime they broke through the surface of the water the salty sea air and gentle breeze gliding over her skin as she steered them around coming to a stop by the dock that lead up into the castle itself. She stood up raising an eyebrow as she glanced down at her figure, though she loved the way she looked she was always one for impressions, her lips turned up in a smile as she pointed the trident at herself her long black tentacles slowly disappearing only to leave a pair of human legs and a tight black halter neck dress covering her body. Stepping out of the carriage and onto land she let her feet carry her up and into the castle not bothering to stop as some of the guards went rushing off to warn their mistress of her guest, following behind as they unintentionally led her exactly where she wanted to go. Pushing open the doors to the spar she smirked her expression nothing other than pure seduction and manipulation, "I'm back my dear, dear Aveana..! Did ya miss me?"
