Well I mean XCOM could have like Apaches or something to use as gunships. And a skyranger can be fitted to carry a 20mm cannon with enough ammo to do a few gun runs before needing to take up a holding pattern without losing too much mobility. Hell you can even have a LMG mounted to the back hatch for a crew chief to operate. and we can have specially designed Skyrangers and other things for gunships.

There could be two versions of the Skyranger , one attack and one transport?

Exactly. The attack one would carry support members like snipers and such to be used aboard from above. And it would also carry several gun and rockets to use. and the other sky ranger would carry the troops.

I always make my base in Africa, extra cash means more of everything.

Also, why can we never use tanks in XCOM? I mean seriously, there's a map with a bunch of parked tanks on it. Why can't we take some back and use them on future missions?

Defintly intrested in this. I love XCOM and i was really hoping i would find something like this.
I vote for a character driven near future kind of setting.

The beauty of this rp is we will be able to. We can deploy them with specialized skyrangers to and they will be needed because of how many aliens we will encounter.

X-Com is a paramilitary organization. A SECRET one..

The militaries of the world are the ones who mainly make tanks.

The only options are build a tank (which will take alot of time) or steal one from the military, which will cause unnecessary attention and could cause the council members to go "OIHJOIUAHFIOAUGIAFGAIUFYA, NO. YOU STOLE OUR STUFF. FUCK YOU. FUUUCK. YOOOUUUUUUUUUUU."

But whateva.

South America is pretty good, allows you focus on different researchs

Ew, no. Autopsies and interrogations only need two-five days, you're giving up way better bonuses for something that is practically already there.

Africa! 30% funding woot!

Hmm... This might be a problem...For one thing, there won't be Skyrangers yet right at the beginning. For another, Skyrangers won't be armed as they need to free up as much weight and space as possible to deliver their most devastating payload yet: The troops. But I like the idea of giving the Skyrangers weapons, but it will only come some time after XCOM receives its Skyrangers. And even then, Skyrangers can become eclipsed by more advanced transports, if you know what I mean :)

They won't need to 'free up weight'...The troops aren't exactly THE HEAVIEST THINGS EVAR. They're humans.

Unless titan armour. *shrug*

Also, if better transports arrive, then my char will just drive them instead :P

Especially when you can get the bonus anyways for the cost of 2 Satellites.

By the time two satellites have been built, your current autopsies would probably be done already, :P

Oh! Also, starting a new X-Com playthrough.

If you'd like to be one of the soldiers, say so and tell me what colours and hair they will have (unless they get a helmet. Keep in mind, X-Com Enemy Within + Elite Soldier Pack for customization.)

If you'd like them to have a certain personality for how they will act in the battlefield, say so.

Sigh.
assholes not even sending us a warning >.<

Talktalk has taken away my internet because my parents haven't payed the bill.

Unless the bill gets payed, needless to say, roleplaying will not be possible. Currently writing with Vodafone 3G. Willing to become an NPC but not willing to get killed off until I get back.

Cheers.

Switch to O2, they generally give a week's grace period.
/edit And if you decide to make a Lennon in your playthrough, make him act the complete opposite of his class. Let him be a zerging sniper or a shotgun marksman.

You supposed to be rushing Satelites, and autopies don't come till later if you prioritize the weapon and armor research.
Which you should cause the **Priority** research moves the story along, meaning bigger and badder enemies showing up even sooner than they would if you had left them until later.
