The fight at the charity center raged on, with Dark Matter's goons getting the upper hand. Being better equipped and already killing a little over half the group's gunmen gave them the moral advantage. But the goons were merciless; some of those employees had nothing to do with the yakuza group, and in the crossfire the family of some of the members were shot down. But for Dark Matter's thugs, it was just an inevitable outcome. For the most part they were doing well, while on the other side of town, Dark Matter was busy with his own ends.
Sneaking through was somewhat difficult. Lots of the security was obviously high tech, but they were also made for more humanoid invaders; taking the form of a amorphous blob allowed Dark Matter much more flexibility and movement options. Any opening, be it as small as a coin, was more than enough for him to slip through. Or more simply, just shrink himself small enough to piggy back on someone who looks like they're heading towards the location of the power exoskeleton. The potential when you're not in a humanoid form. After moving from body to body, Dark Matter struck gold when he got on the body of the presenter of the exoskeleton suit; this meant that this person would be able to use the suit, which made him a target as well. If Dark Matter consumed him, he could take his knowledge and not have to worry about trying to learn how to use the exoskeleton by trail and error. He just needed to stick with the scientist long enough for him to get to the Exoskeleton, consume him and the suit, and than bug out with none the wiser.
