This Roleplay will contain violence, vulgar language, dark themes, and a serious plot. It is a high casual roleplay, all who join should ensure they are prepared to post as often as possible. Do not join if you are uncertain about how often you will post. And before you ask, yes, the similarities with X-Men is intentional.




This is where you lot come in.

A short summary is: You are all imprisoned in the Avian Prison from Project David. The year is 2350.

What you do from there is up to you, but a small group of Avians have decided to break out. Tired of being cooped up in this prison, discriminated against by humans, and angry at those Avians who betrayed them so they wouldn't be locked up.

There is a plan set in place by the former leaders of the Cardinal and Cassowary factions, to escape some sacrifices will need to be made. But those who escape will carry on the legacy of those who are lost. Will you be the ones to be left behind or to die? Or will you be the ones to escape? That's up to you.

The plot will be revealed once the RP begins, I won't spoil it in this post.

Machine Soldiers:

Machine soldiers are the majority of Human military now, having fully phased out Avians by being physically superior in every aspect. They do not tire, they do not complain, they're more accurate, they cannot feel fear, and best of all, they don't age.

There are a dozen or so varieties of Machine Soldier. Some aren't even Soldiers at this point, but I'll list the most important varieties.

First and foremost are Humans in mechanical suits, now, while these are not truly machine soldiers. They make up about one third of the sum total military force of the world. The suits they wear enhance their natural abilities exponentially. Able to lift and haul 10 tons of equipment on their shoulders with ease. Their reflexes are augmented with onboard AI that give them a steady stream of information in an advanced HUD. These AI are customized both personality-wise and appearance-wise by the soldiers inside. There are two speed settings in these suits. There is the long distance running speed and the sprinting speed. Which are 60mph and 120mph respectively. Their outfits are resistant to temperatures up to 500 degrees fahrenheit, low caliber bullets, and completely immune to falling injuries.

Second are genuine Machine Men, these are advanced supersoldiers made from metal and anger. There are very few Avians that can compare to them in raw ability. They can run at 200 mph, steady pace and 250 when in chase. They can lift up to 50 tons over their head and haul it for miles without any negative effets. Their jump height is 50 feet vertically, and they can leap up to 100 feet horizontally. They are made of a sturdy metal that is carbonado infused cobalt titanium alloy. This alloy is resiliant and able to take hits from modern tank cannons.

Third are the colloquially refered Chasers, chasers are aggressive and fast. Although not very sturdy. They can run faster than most Avians at 300mph, they move so fast that the human eye cannot actually pick them up before they have gotten to them. They have claws made from ceramic that dig deeply into flesh and break off, they are armed with five on each limb and three refills for each claw. Once a claw breaks, the new claw slides forward into place.

Fourth are the arguably most dangerous of the bunch. The walker tanks. As the name implies, they are literally walking tanks. These machines weigh upwards of 14 tons and are made out of boron steel, they can stomp their enemies to death or unleash hell with twin cannons. These are the toughest of tough, a single walker tank can fight toe to toe with an S-Rank for a short period of time.

Fifth are known as skimmers, they're small circular things that fly about and take photographs of everything. They play a live stream directly to their lauch unit, usually a Walker Tank or Chaser. If one finds you, you'd better run, because a group of Machine Soldiers are certainly going to follow.

The final unit are large airships for pickup and dropoff of machines and captured Avians. They can fly at hyper sonic speeds, capable of hovering and manouvering horizontally and vertically. They're armed with a full battery of missiles, bombs, side/wing/rear/top/front mounted chain guns with 360 degree rotation. They carry enough ammunition for these chainguns to fire non-stop for a half hour at 10,000 rounds per minute. For a sense of scale, they can carry around 8 Walker Tanks and 40 Machine Men at the same time.

Personality: Kurai is very crafty and is willing to use whatever means necessary to get what she desires. She doesn't like fighting, and prefers to use charm, wiles, and intimidation to resolve issues. If battle is unavoidable, she prefers to attack from a distance and attempts to end the battle quickly. Outside of combat, she can be flirty and seductive, but does not allow anyone to get close to her. Most "relationships" are short-term and have never amounted to anything serious. Secretly, she does believe in true love, but has never found it.

Appearance: Sultry black-haired woman, standing 5'10". When given a choice of outfit, she prefers style to functionality, choosing dark dresses with somewhat revealing tops. Normally wearing high heels (black, of course). Quite beautiful, even without makeup.

Physical Ability: N/A

Metaphysical Ability: N/A

Psychic Ability: A-Rank
- Telekinesis: Kurai can move, levitate, and (occasionally) manipulate objects at her desire. If the target is nonliving, she can manipulate it without difficulty. If it is living (this includes robots), it can attempt to resist her. She can also use this to fly, though it requires too much concentration to move anything else while doing so.
- Illusion: If her target's mind is weak enough, Kurai can manipulate a person's five senses at will. However, the person is by no means under her control; if they are aware of the illusion, it is immediately shattered. Because illusions affect the five senses, machines are not fooled. This includes cameras and any kind of scanner or recording device.
- Mindscape: This is Kurai's ultimate technique, but it is also the most risky. If Kurai locks eyes with a person for three seconds from no less than two inches away, that person's mind is immediately transported to an area known as a mindscape. It is a world made entirely of illusion. While inside a mindscape, anything the person wills will come into being. Basically, the person is like a god, able to do and create anything their heart desires. Though it is only an illusion, it will seem completely real to them. A person may leave the mindscape and return to their body at any time, and they are told all of this from the beginning by a projection of Kurai. However, few ever wish to leave a world that can fulfill all of their desires, and most choose to remain a while longer. There is no sense of time in the mindscape, so by the time a person is finally willing to return to their body, they may find that their body has all but rotted away, for without the mind to guide it, the person's body will never move from its previous position (unless someone else moves the body). A jolt of electricity will immediately shatter the mindscape.

Backstory: Kurai was born with her abilities, but they never fully manifested until she turned 16. Her very first experience came when she was getting... intimate with her then-boyfriend. The two locked eyes with each other for a moment, when suddenly his body went stiff. She tried everything to awaken him, finally resorting to her father's taser, which finally broke him out of it. When he told Kurai what had happened to him, she could hardly believe her ears. Suddenly afraid of her, her boyfriend threatened to reveal her to Project David. Panicking, Kurai again locked him in a mindscape. This time, however, she did not attempt to wake him, and returned him to his home, claiming that he had grown tired and fallen asleep. He died three days later of dehydration. Scared of what she could do, Kurai ran away from home, abandoned her last name, and began her life as a wanderer.
As time went on, Kurai continued to explore her new-found abilities. Her primary abilities lied in her ability to conjure illusions, which she used to change her identity every time she entered a new town or city. She began using her powers to seduce others, reading their minds to fulfill their personal fantasies. Her telekinesis developed more slowly, but by age 21, she was quite adept at it (though illusion remains her strong-point to this day). She used her powers carefully, but with the worldwide vigilance of Project David, she was not careful enough.
At 23 years old, Kurai encountered her first robot soldier. It was able to identify her as an Avian and immediately attempted to arrest her. She was able to defeat it, but not before it captured a recording of her face and voice. It sent this data back to its superiors, and the chase was on. Kurai fled town, and for six months was hounded by robotic soldiers, which were slowly becoming stronger as time went on. Finally, a squadron of six Chasers (robots designed to capture fleeing targets) was able to corner and subdue her. Kurai was thrown into prison. That was about three and a half years ago. Since then, Kurai was able to learn of the plan to escape, and she is all too eager to join in.

I hope her abilities don't seem OP. I tried to provide as many weaknesses as strengths for them, especially the fact that she has no physical abilities whatsoever, so anyone who can engage her at close range has an immense advantage. Let me know if I need to change anything. Otherwise, I look forward to RPing with you!

The only things I gotta say are:

1: Mind reading is a no go, at least this early in the game. Second arc would be alright, first arc however, no.
2: Make it so she has to be near the person to do the illusory world. Within arm's reach. This will increase the risk required to use it.

Also, I like the Chasers idea. I'll have to add in a list of the varying machine soldiers.

That's up to you, I'd personally like a bit of variety among the characters. Try to have some B's and C's in there. A full roster of nothing but Triple A's would get a bit out of hand.

Remember, sometimes you just need a little less gun.

Personality: Gabriel zealously follows his unique spin on the Judeo-Christian faith. He sees it as his divine mandate to slay who he deems wicked in accordance with the guidelines he claims he received from God almighty. He is courteous to those he deems deserving, and can be quite benevolent. However, he is extremely wrathful, dishing out judgement and death wherever he feels it is required. Though he tends to ally with the Cardinals, many of them dislike working with him due to his extreme methods.

Appearance: Gabriel stands at 6'4'', with broad shoulders, and a toned build. He has short-cropped strawberry-blond hair, and green eyes. He is caucasian, with tanned skin. His most defining physical feature is his pair of wings. Large enough to carry him aloft, the wings are massive, with spotless white feathers.

Physical Ability: Archangel's physical abilities are considered lower-end B class. He can take small arms fire, but they make him bleed, and cause great pain. Larger weapons can kill him outright. He can lift about five tons, and has a slightly heightened regeneration factor, as well as heightened stamina.

Metaphysical Ability: Archangel's metaphysical abilities manifest as a golden-white fire. This "Holy Fire" can serve a variety of purposes. He can use it to enduce cellular regeneration in others, he can harden it and shape it into any form he chooses, and can use it as a traditional pyrokinetic weapon. Archangel's metaphysical power is considered A-rank, due to it's versatility.

Extra bodily growths go under physical abilities.

Mind you, the Cardinals and Cassowaries are for the most part disbanded. As they are being hunted down, imprisoned, and killed. They are unable to actually host political parties, as all rights have been taken away from them.

Right now I'm torn between what I want to do in terms of power.

I always like someone with regenerative capacity to the level of Deadpool or Wolverine but I am guessing that is too high class for this so will probably go with something metaphysical...

Regeneration as strong as Wolverine and Deadpool is basically comparable to invincibility and immortality. While regeneration is allowed, that level is far too high.
