[OOC] Academy of the Zodiac

(Just to let you know, for now there are unlimited spots for each Zodiac. You do NOT have to reserve a place for a Zodiac, just post up a CS when you can.)

Since the dawn of time there has been those who can harness the powers of the Zodiac. This brought about great war in ancient times where the inheritors of the Zodiac all sought immense power. In the end, they came to an agreement. They must not war against each other and keep the secrets of the Zodiac hidden, for their descendant's safety.

As the centuries passed, it became obvious that they would have to have a place where the new owners of the Zodiac would learn to embrace and harness their powers.

And thus, the Academy of the Zodiac was created to give sanctuary and to educate the new generation of Zodiac users to use their powers correctly.

As the newest student body enters Zodiac Academy, they will be faced with normal teenager school-life as well as the threat of an age old conspiracy looming in the background.

Rules.

1. Basic role playing rules apply. No god modding, bunnying, etc.
2. Please wait for two other people to post until you post again so people won't get lost and frustrated.
3. Romance is allowed and encouraged seeing as this is a school RP, but please take anything above PG-13 to PMs.
4. You are allowed up to two characters currently in this roleplay.
5. IC drama is fine but OOC drama is whack. Don't do that.
6. More rules may be added later.

Houses, Zodiac Signs, and Powers.

House of Flames- The House of Flames is a strong-willed and competitive House at Zodiac Academy. The Zodiac Users lining it's halls are usually fiery, loud humans, but calmer and shier personalities are also prevalent. This House holds the Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius Zodiacs.

Aries- The powers belonging to those of the Aries Zodiac are Thick Skull, Enhanced Strength, Fire Manipulation, or Capirine Mimicry (the ability to transform into a ram-human hybrid).

Leo- The powers belonging to those of the Leo Zodiac are Animal Instincts, Enhanced Reflexes, Natural Weapons (the ability to use their fingernails and teeth as claws and fangs), Animal Manipulation, Fire Manipulation, or Solar Empowerment.

Sagittarius- The powers belonging to the Sagittarius Zodiac are Enhanced Hunting, Enhanced Tracking, Enhanced Marksmanship, Sensing, and Fire Manipulation.

House of Earth- The House of Earth is a wise and peaceful House of Zodiac Academy, but more excitable personalities also can show up. The Zodiacs in this house are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.

Taurus- The powers available to a Taurus Zodiac are Enhanced Endurance, Enhanced Stamina, Earth Manipulation, Literature Manipulation (the ability to control books or pages), or Bovine Mimicry (the ability to become a cow/bull human hybrid).

Virgo- The powers belonging to a Virgo Zodiac are Purification, Healing (can only be used on others), Enhanced Regeneration (must only be used sparingly, shaves off a year of the user's lifespan if used), or Earth Manipulation.

Capricorn- The powers belonging to a Capricorn Zodiac are Caprine Mimicry (the ability to become a goat-human hybrid), Aquatic Adaption (the ability to survive underwater), Environmental Adaption (the ability to survive hot and cold temperatures, but not being burned or frozen), Earth Manipulation, or Mountain Manipulation (can only be used sparingly, takes a hard toll on the user)

House of Skies- The House of Skies is a House filled with social butterflies, but the occasional loner does show up from time to time. The Zodiacs in this House are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.

Gemini- The powers of a Gemini consist of Replication, Yin and Yang Manipulation (light energy and dark energy), Air Manipulation, or Air Mimicry (allows the user to become air for a short period of time, must be used sparingly as it quickly wears the user out.)

Libra- The powers of a Libra consist of Enhanced Dexterity, Enhanced Intelligence, Equality (the ability to make any match an even match), or Air Manipulation.

Aquarius- The powers of an Aquarius consist of Water Manipulation, Ice Manipulation, pWater Mimicry (turning into water for a short period of time, must be used sparingly as it wears out the user), or Air Manipulation.

House of Seas- The House of Seas is filled with mature individuals, but some immature individuals live here as well. The zodiacs of this house are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.

Cancer- The abilities of the Cancer Zodiac are Hypergrip (the ability to have the strength of a crab's pincers), Constriction (The ability to stretch your body to constrict around someone like a snake), Water Manipulation, Aquatic Respiration (breathing underwater), or Lunar Empowerment.

Scorpio- The abilities of the Scorpio Zodiac are Water Manipulation, Poison Generation (must be used sparingly, as the poison is much like blood to the user), Insect Communication, or Scorpion Mimicry (the ability to turn into a scorpion-human hybrid).

Pisces- The abilities of the Pisces Zodiac are Aquatic Adaption, Underwater Breathing, Omnilingualism (the ability to speak many different languages), Fish Mimicry (the ability to turn into a mermaid/merman), Water Manipulation, or Empathy. [/hider]

Also, I have a question. You listed specific powers for each zodiac, but are those suggestions or rules? Because the CS seems to suggest we can make up our own.

Alright, that works~

Name: Erik Reaver
Age and Year: 17, Sophomore
Gender: Male

Appearance: 6'2", with neck-length, straw blonde hair and hazel green eyes. He's moderately well built and has a deep tan from spending his days out in the sun while working on his parent's farm. Wears a pair of wire-rimmed glasses due to extreme farsightedness.

Personality: He tries to be a socialite, and would like to be popular and well liked, but the moment he tries to put himself in the middle of a crowd of people he usually ends up alienating them. This stems largely from the fact that he can be incredibly rude, abrasive and condescending, not to mention stubborn. The few friends he does have try to look past this and see his better traits; at heart, he's an artist, who when frustrated by his inability to gain the respect of others spends most of his free time alone, painting. Despite not being very adept at interacting with people, he has a surprising tenderness towards non-human things like pets and plants. In fact, he has something of a green thumb, and enjoys growing potted plants in his windowsill; these often end up being the subject of many of his paintings.

Zodiac: Taurus

Zodiac powers:

-Biomancy; or the ability to affect the growth of plantlife. This happens both passively and on command; he could actively decide to make plants around him grow wildly out of control, but even his consistent presence causes them to be more vibrant and healthy, and he has no control over this aspect. The effect is mutual; he seems to be more energetic and happy when his houseplants are well cared for.

-High Endurance; he can definitely be killed or badly injured, but he can take a lot more physical punishment then a normal human and still come out of it okay. This seems to carry over to mental endurance as well; getting into a debate with Erik about anything is incredibly draining and exhausting due to his stubbornness, and yet he himself never seems to break a sweat.

-Bovine mimicry; Turning into a minotaur gives him incredible strength and endurance, but he also has no control over his actions in this state, meaning he's only ever used this power in dire situations.

Alignment later on: Good, just an asshole sometimes.

History: Erik's life began in a very unfortunate way. His mother Elizabeth had for years attempted to escape from an abusive relationship with an obsessive sociopath of a man, but everywhere she went he would hunt her down, forcing her to move again to try and get away. Tragically, this culminated in an incident where she was victimized by him and became pregnant. Shortly thereafter, she was taken in by a childhood friend who promised to care for her and her unborn child even at the risk of his own life. Erik took his last name from the farmer, Austin Reaver, who had vowed to protect them, and was raised by him as a son. Elizabeth and Austin eventually married, giving Erik four small siblings.

His partially adoptive family is truly loving and stronger for all of the hardships they've endured, but it hasn't prevented things from his past from coming back to haunt him. He inherited not only his terrible eyesight from his biological father, but also the powers of the Taurus zodiac and all of the responsibility that comes with it. He also causes his mother some vexation and grief due to his poor social skills and occasional fits of anger, but some of this is exacerbated from her point of view due to her own personal fears about what kind of person he will become. In reality, he's almost all bark and no bite, and whatever evils possessed his father have little hold on him. Unlikeable though Erik may sometimes be, he's also valiant and determined to righteousness done where righteousness is deserved.

(I know that's a little dark, I could tone that down if needed, it's just the backstory that comes with the character.)

Name: Alyssa Summers

Gender: Female
Personality: Alyssa is a sweet girl. She likes to have fun and isnt afraid to speak whatever is on her mind. Aly likes to hangout with friends and just be herself. She is afraid to show her mean side, but that only happens when someone messes with her or her friends. One thing about Aly is that she is a very brave girl, ever since she was little she loved to do dangerous stuff, and she wasn't afraid to do so. But she does have something against insects, she hates them. Other then that, Alyssa is a very respectful girl and is also girly. But she dosent like the pink color much. She is also pretty cheerful for the most part, she doesn't really let anything get to her. Although because of the way she was raised, she's has trust issues. She does get more worried about others than she does herself.
Zodiac: Pisces
Zodiac powers:
Underwater Breathing:Alyssa could swim underwater with no problem, like any fish creature there is.

Water Manupulation:Alyssa could manipulate the water, anywhere she is. She could manipulate water, ice, vapor, etc. at nearly any speed whether in/on surface, air or water.

Empathy: And this ability she could sense other people's emotions, and with practices she could plant emotions into others, to make them feel what she wants.

Alignment later on: Good.

History: Alyssa was just a little girl when her father left her. Her mother decided to take over and spoil her with alot of stuff. But as Alyssa was growing up she didn't really like those kind of stuff that her mother wanted to give Alyssa. Mainly because Alyssa wanted to get her own stuff, mainly because she is a teenager and is in highschool.

Gender: Male
Personality: Axel has said many times that he wouldn't care if everyone around him died, and it's true. He doesn't care about what happens to those around him, as long as it doesn't involve himself. He doesn't truly trust anyone to call them friends, but he does still talk to them. Depending on his mood, his personality can change quickly. An example is if he's annoyed, then he'll be a bit more expressive and a bit louder when he talks. Most of the time, he's depressed and people say he has 'eyes like a dead fish' when he looks at someone. You could find him crouched near a rock with beetles and other insects as he mumbles to himself. He'd float off (not literally, that'd be weird.) and do something else after a while.
Zodiac: Scorpio
Zodiac powers:
◆ Scorpion Mimicry - His senses increase along with his reflex timing when he uses this, along with him turning into a hybrid. This also means he's much more sensitive and vulnerable when he uses this. He can also talk to some insects if he concentrates, which is very hard for a guy like him.
◆ Regenitive Abilities - He doesn't heal at insane speeds, but if he gets a small cut (like a paper cut) then that will heal in about a day.
◆ Poison Generation - He nearly never uses this since it drains blood, but when he does, it is pretty damaging. Having it in someone's system could wound them pretty badly.
Alignment later on: Probably Neutral
History: Axel was alone for most of his life. The only things he could relate to were the insects that sometimes followed him. He lived in a rundown part of the city, in a small shack. He had to do everything himself, but the insects were always behind him. Axel felt like it was their way of encouragement and he didn't care if others called him strange for talking to them. They were there for him when he felt down, and that was enough for him.

A few years later, he had managed to get a job and have an apartment that was quite cramped, but did help a lot. His life was quite simple, but he was happy. He still had time to see his little critters while balancing out his job. Life, for once, was good. So, to make it even better, he decided to join the academy.

Name: Isk Walmsley

Age and Year: 18, Senior

Gender: Male

Appearance: Isk has long dirty blond hair that reaches his lower chest, normally this would hinder a hunter's ability to see, but Isk doesn't mind in the slightest. Isk has dark brown eyes and he stands at 5'11. Isk on the outside looks very slim, someone who doesn't work out a lot, however he has built up his forearm muscles over the years just from shooting his longbow.

Personality: Isk is quiet and doesn't talk much, preferring to be in the woods than at an academy, he tends to shy away from his fellow peers and daydreams about being in the forest, and due to this he is often seen as a "loner." However, when Isk makes friends, he isn't afraid to stand up and protect them, even if his friend is an animal, and due to this his personality changes dramatically in the forest since almost all of his friends are animals.

Zodiac: Sagittarius

Zodiac Powers
Enhanced Hunting
Isk is a better hunter than most, being able to stalk his prey for days upon days without even making the slightest of all sounds using everything in his environment, but there is a drawback to this. He uses his environment to his advantages, in a forest he would be able to stalk his prey with ease by hiding in the trees and bushes as he went along, but in an urban environment like say a city, there is not much he can use to stalk his pray.

Enhanced Marksmanship
Isk is skilled as a marksman in precision shooting, he can easily shoot someone from afar with ease and grace in one fluid motion with his long bow, however the only weapon he chooses to use is his long bow, saying that a firearm is simply "too easy to use."

Sensing
The last of Isk's three powers as a Sagittarius, Isk can sense any living being in a fifty feet radius in the open, however this is easily one of Isk's weakest powers since this power puts a lot of strain on him, especially if he uses it too much, which will just cause him to faint.

Alignment Later On: Neutral

History: Isk's family lives in the forest, and due to this he has never had much of an opportunity to make friends, with the only one spending time with him being his grandfather, who loved Isk dearly. The two would spend their entire day together, whether it be taking a walk in the forest or gathering food, the two were almost inseparable. His grandfather taught him how to shoot a bow, his grandfather taught him how to hunt and stalk his prey, his grandfather taught him everything he knew, and because of this, Isk loved him so dearly because he was the only one who taught Isk everything he knew, he was the only one who would talk and play with Isk, and when his grandfather passed away, leaving Isk the forest, Isk changed at the age of eight.

Isk changed dramatically, he turned from a happy, caring child to a quiet child who would often spend his days practicing with his longbow and talking to the animals he deemed as his friends. Eventually, as time passed, his parents passed away, and Isk was all alone in the forest. Having had to bury his mother and father at the age of twelve, an experience that changed him, Isk never left the forest anymore. He spent his days practicing his longbow, promising to protect the forest that his grandfather gave to him in his will.

Eventually, Isk's uncle and aunt, after having no communication with Isk for the past two years, decided to go look for him and found him in the forest, practicing his skills with the long bow. Isk's uncle and aunt quickly took Isk in - albeit Isk heavily detested this - and raised him, sending him off to the academy

Faeya is a caring yet stubborn girl. She is the weirdo that wears strange clothing and is somewhat childish. Her puppydog eyes get her whatever she wants, so she rarely uses them. She likes to do hard work to get what she wants. She is very feisty, but she is extremely caring when she wants to be.
{History}
She was born into a very strict and plain family. Her father, an abusive man, would do anything to make sure she stayed on the straight As, beige-wearing, doctorate in law path. Her mother ignored everything her husband did in order not to upset him. Faeya, deciding to rebel, became who she was. Her father still abuses her everytime she walks out of the house looking like she does, but she doesn't care because that's who she is.
