my impeccable roleplay etiquette was preventing me from posting again until everybody had made a firstpost, but it seems piqsy is now on vacation and therefore will not be posting at least until next week! seems she got sidetracked while packing and couldn't get to this in time, but oh well we'll see some chandra action when she gets back. in the mean time, territorial ocean god shenanigans.

Race: Metal-men

Physical Description: Typically look human, with minor variations, such as eye, skin, or hair color. They may be made of metal and silicon, but they are essentially human.
Average Life Span: Grow to maturity in approximately 15 years. With proper nutrition, they can live as long as 150 years in a primitive society, longer in one with good medical care.

Personality: Humans would find them calculating, always logical, but friendly, something which has confused many a human. Due to their different social norms, some humans may believe the ones inexperienced with human interaction to be perverted.

Structure: They form cities of large numbers of people, usually underground for defensive purposes and because they don't have a fear of the dark or a need for sunlight to produce Vitamin D like humans. They don't have the same sense of modesty, or social taboos as humans, so they don't wear clothing except for protection and when interacting with other races. They also don't have typical family units, reproducing with whoever they believe will give them "genetically" superior children, with some adjustment for social compatibility (relationships such as friendship). Children are raised by the group, with everyone teaching them, but those of higher social value (leaders) are heeded more, as they are considered wiser.
Each group of settlements (cities that are less than three kilometers from each other) act as a country, though there is free trade and exchange of ideas between the groups.

Attributes: Their ability as individuals to learn is much less than humans, though, as they sleep, their minds are linked together in a sort of massive network called the mind-link. It is through this mind-link that they are able to transfer technical data, but not specific memories due to bandwidth restrictions. They have a maximum communications range of about three kilometers in this mode, so any that stray too far from the group are cut off from the mind-link. Individuals can create and transfer encryption codes to others, allowing for private communication. They can also learn to broadcast up to five kilometers while conscious, but due to bandwidth restrictions they can only send basic information like status, location, and energy levels.
Though they have no natural ability to use magic, it is a form of energy, and as such they can access it through properly designed enchanted items which can be interacted with through one of their other abilities.
They are twice as strong as humans and their power cells can store the equivalent of 5000 calories of food. It is recharged through a bio-reactor inside of them which converts food into energy and waste products. Machine based lifeforms, such as those found on the island, convert more efficiently, but they can eat organic food if need be. If they do, they will need to eat about twice as many calories as a comparable sized organic lifeform in order to function at peek performance.
They have the ability to produce lightning from their hands, though the specifics of how to do it strongly and efficiently cannot be transferred through the mind-link and must be learned, as it is user-specific. They also have the ability to absorb electric attacks up to a certain strength, though, like lightning projection, it must be learned, and any electrical energy over their maximum does twice the damage it does against organics.
Through meditation they can learn to consciously increase the energy flow to their muscles, the equivalent of adrenaline to the organics, making them stronger, faster, and with better reflexes and perception, though it more quickly depletes their power cells.
They heal at about the twice the rate of the organics.

Trivia: There is no need for contraception in their society, as they easily learn to have complete control over most higher biological functions.

Don't worry. They'll put on clothes before they go to meet you. And also possibly later on in their society, when they start having to live on the surface and need clothes.
Also, elves would work good. Their ability to use magic would fit nicely with my people not being able to do it, except with enchanted items. That, combined with their increased physical prowess would mean that we aren't really a threat.
