[IC] Street Life

As the sun rose over the city Roxy headed from home. When she moved to town she had searched out places to stay. Being a young woman on the streets was dangerous enough without sleeping out in the open. She wondered through the rough side of town until she found an abandoned apartment building that was in reasonably good condition. The place was trashed but the building was stable and that was all she needed. She could clean and fix it up with time. With her night's work done Roxy slowly made her way to home.

Sam walked about the streets. He usually went to bed late and woke up early, he liked to get as much loot as possible from pick-pocketing. He smiled as a woman passed by, with a grocery bag. He smiled, and suck behind him. There was nobody else around, and he didn't notice when he snuck his hand in and took a loaf of bread, a small little plastic packet of ham, and a corn cob. He ran off with his loot, sure he would have a good breakfast and dinner that night. He wasn't looking where he was going, and ran into some woman he didn't know. "Sorry!" he said nervously as he dropped all his food.

Shade snuck around. All of her senses working in harmony to search for people. She was just walking down the street but she was paying a lot of attention in order to avoid getting having someone pickpocket her. She was wearing a black leather jacket over her black dress. The jacket contained the only momentous from the assassin who raised her. A spider hairpin, a pistol with a spidery design, and lighter that a spider's shadow designed on it. The assassin had been known as Kumo, meaning Spider, and Shade being Kumo's underling used the name in stead of her real one. She did not like giving away her real name so easily.

Vindle walked around, holding a small apple in his hand.
"Apples are luxurious when your on the streets, even when they're small like this." he said to himself as he took a bite out of it. Vindle then jumped up into a tree, sitting down on a sturdy branch as he finished the apple.

Johnny walked down the street with his shoulders hunkered and his arms bent to go along his spin. He was glad to be out of the slammer, it was dangerous there, and with the amount of times he had been there who knew what would happen. Whistling as he walked along the street he remembered the gang Roxy and vindle and who could forget shade, they were his best buddies and he felt the need to find them, he knew if raymen found him first he would be stuck pleasuring dirty people for cash, he didn't want that to be the first thing he sees outside of jail. Walking a bit faster as he noticed a man trailing him, johnny hopped to find one of his friends soon.

Roxy growled low in her throat. She hated having people in her personal space. She didn't wear as many knives at night as she did durning the day. They tended to make clinics nervous. But that didn't mean that she went without protection. She reached down and grabbed the one hidden in her boot. She grabbed the man and spun him so he was facing away from her. She held him against her and held the knife to his throat. "What did you take?"

Vindle caught a glimpse of Shade. Taking one last bite out of the apple, he threw it below which hit Johnny. Vindle then silently snuck towards where he presumed the girl went. Little girls shouldn't be out at in the streets alone. he thought.

"Yes!" Shouted Geoffrey as he jumped out of a apartment window. Geoffrey crashed to the ground and simply lied there as he regained feeling through his body, which was now extremely painful. "Terrific..." He murmured "Crazy son... of a bitch... You... Nearly got... Us killed.." He replied to himself "Worth it" He replied back

"Nothing, it was an accident!" he shouted in fear. He was still holding a loaf of bread in his hand, so without thought and full of instinct, he hit her above the head with it. It wasn't a hard loaf, but it was a bit more durable than other loafs, it would feel like getting hit on the head with a paper towel roll. If she let go of him, he would quickly pick up his food and run off.

Roxy rolled her eyes at his attempt to attack her. "I'm amazed your still alive if that is the best you can do as far as attacks go. I should kill you now and save someone else the terrible of doing it." Roxy pushed him away from her. "Do you have a place to stay?"

She wasn't planning on shooting, but if someone tried to pickpocket her then they got what they deserved. Though it probably only going to be a gun to the head and not a bullet.

Crap, did she already notice me? How would someone with that kinda dress be so observant? There's no way out now, though. Vindle thought. He then decided to make his presence known to Shade.
"You must be pretty good to have noticed someone who's been sneaking 'round for a long time. What's your name?" he said.

At the sound of someone's voice behind her she turned, gun in hand. The gun was against Vindle's face.
"Kumo, the spider. That is my name." She told him to answer his question. From where he was Vindle would be able to see that on top of the gun was a carving of a spider. And it wasn't a very cute carving either, it was scary. It's fangs bared, it rage filled eyes, it gave if a look that, if looks could kill, would have.

"Maybe it's because I don't like people following me. And thanks for the complement on the gun. It was a momentous from the only person who really cared for me," she responded. With her other hand Shade reached into her jacket and pulled out the hair pin, putting it in her hair. The hairpin was one she usually wore. Shade just yet to put it on today. Everyone she had met since she started living on the streets would recognize the hairpin. It was an object that made Shade easy to identify.

Sam felt himself get pushed away, and he fell on the ground. He got up and picked up his stuff. "Not really, no. I usually just spend my time staying awake or sleeping on the rooftops." he said, gesturing to the roofs. "Why?"

"Because if I don't save you your going to get yourself killed. You can stay with me. There's plenty of room. I have one rules. Stay out of my personal space." Roxy told him

"the streets have some easy places to sleep if you try hard enough maybe we can find one?"

"Thanks." he said quietly. He had all his stuff, so he just followed behind this woman, at a small distance. "Oh, and by the way, my names Sam Malone." he introduced himself.

Roxy closed her eyes. God save her from helpless people. When she decided to build a gang she never imagined working with people like this but she had to start somewhere. "I have a place."
