"Is there a problem?" Donny stepped out of the kitchen wiping his hands. The customer complaining as well as his two companions walked up to Donny. He said that he didn't like his dish and he wanted his money back. "I'm sorry that the dish wasn't to your liking sir, but we cannot refund goods that have already been used." The customer began to rant on and on about the establishment, which Donny simply took with silence. The other customers and workers went about their business trying to ignore the scene, though it seems like the customer was hellbent on getting everyone's attention. Eventually, Donny spoke. "We will take your complaints into consideration sir. If you do not like our work, you are free to leave." Donny said with restrained frustration. The customer glared at Donny and even tried to make him flinch, but only ended up nearly butting heads with the somewhat shorter orc, who stood as still as a statue. The customer shouted that this wasn't the last that they've heard of him and that they would all pay. Once gone, Donny let out a breath. "What a power trip..." The cafe was quiet again as Donny rubbed his neck. No doubt those guys are going to come back to cause trouble. He'd have to figure out some way to deal with them before it happened.
As Donny turned back to head to the kitchen, one of the girls came up to Donny. He recognized her as the "Chief Maid", practically the second in command of the store. A diminutive girl to the orc, but she thanked Donny for handling the situation peacefully. "It was difficult to be honest. I can see why your store needs bouncers though. If I may speak frankly... A show of force would be necessary to ensure that no one see's this shop as weak." The Chief Maid agreed, but admitted that not many have actually applied for the position. Not a lot of people seem to actually think a store like theirs would need security, and so no one has applied. Worse still, their location was near a hotbed of gang activities. And with no one applying for security, they were practically defenseless unless they pay off one of the gangs, but that pretty much left them to be victimized by them as well. The manager was doing his best to try to recruit people he could trust, hence why he also opened up application to the homeless. Things were getting so bad that they were practically scrapping the bottom of the barrel. The Chief Maid did not mean that to be offensive, of which Donny understood and took no offense with. But Donny knew what she was trying to lead this conversation to. "True but... I put that life behind me. The reason I lived on the streets was because I was impulsive and... Hurt people. I wanted to get away from that. I will do everything in my power to protect you all, but..."
The Chief Maid was understanding, and simply told Donny that the position will be open. If he or anyone else he knew would like to apply for it, she asked that he should tell them about it. Donny returned to work. A few minutes later the manager showed up, who was quickly informed of recent events. Whether or was angry or concerned was uncertain as he began to walk towards his office.
