It should be light armor if it's meant to be a glass cannon.

... why is his name in Latin if he's basically just Italian? Why specify 'Roman' lineage? O_o

He comes from Roman lineage, his name is that of said lineage.
He thinks of himself as Roman

If there's anything else, please ask on.

You do realise that Roman naming customs are utterly bizarre, his father's name is Greek, and if there were any true Roman families left after the time of Justinian I, they would have been in Greece or Anatolia, and finally gone by the sixteenth century, right?

I am aware, but this is not real life, and I hope it stays as such.
I have no problem having a bizarre name.

It's not real life, but it also completely doesn't fit with the setting as established by the GM...so...yeah?

This isn't real life, but it's following in from a world identical to ours in terms of history. Basically it's the future of our modern world. It's not real but it's still following the events of real life until we get to the future stuff.

If you want me to go into depth of how he can actually be of Roman lineage then I could always do that, however only if you, Vita so want me to.

I mean if we follow the time of the Roman empire to it's collapse and to Byzantium then I don't see how no one could survive from a roman lineage, I mean it was the antique, people had children some way or another, people can move from locations as well, from Rome to Greece back to Rome, for example. Not really saying that is the case in our real world, however I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed or possible.

Name: Wayland Smith

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality: Wayland has a somewhat bombastic personality, often talking high above his abilities. He could be called arrogant, but only in a slight way. He's very fun-loving and bold, which will lead him to do pretty much anything if it would impress others. Never passed off a dare before. Wayland loves to explore and impress others with his boldness and bravery, and he craves attention. He has anger issues, and has trouble controlling his anger. At times he can be pessimistic. Wayland has a lonely side that he doesn't show often which may be due to his childhood, explaining why he yearns for attention. Though most of the time he likes to be social and near others, at times he finds it hard and prefers to be alone.

History: Wayland's father was never known to him, and his mother never revealed anything on the subject. He always imagined him as a hero, though it was far from the truth. Wayland's mother grew very ill when he was only 8 years old, and she was unable to provide for the family. A mech engineer took pity on the family, allowing Wayland to apprentice to him and earn money for the family. He eagerly took the job, finding out that he had a natural capacity for mechanics. He was a prodigy, and he quickly learned the ins and outs of engineering, even occasionally having the chance to pilot test some of the mechs. Wayland never made any friends with other children, he often got in fights when people made fun of him or his mother, leading him to become quite skilled at hand to hand combat.

When Wayland was 15 years old, his mother took a turn for the worst and passed away, leaving the boy alone. The engineer that he was apprenticed to took the boy in, allowing him to continue working under his wing. On Wayland's 15th birthday, the engineer revealed a surprise to him. With the help of a few scholarships, the blacksmith had saved up enough money to send the boy to the Tsukino-Danvers Academy, where the boy could explore his natural ability for mechs.

Mechanical Frame: "Dauntless"

As of weaponry, Dauntless is unique in the fact that it solely uses its fists for combat. Its fists are installed with jet propulsion systems which add tremendous amounts of force and pressure to its punches, able to tear apart and throw enemies extreme distances. The mech's armor has been replaced with systems that add power to the mech, which doesn't provide much to power or speed, but allows much more power than a normal mech. Still has medium armor, but all locations such as joints and movement points are unarmored and free of hinder. Great mobility, allowed for advanced hand-to-hand moves to be used. There are also jet propulsion systems on the bottoms of the feet to allow for some powerful kicks, as well as speed boosters on the back of the mech that need to be charged up, when completely charged it propels the mech with huge force towards the enemy, which provides great momentum for punches.

Okay, let's see...

@Sauron: It still seems kind of odd to me.

@Daemyn: I'm sorry, but someone approached me wanting the fastest mech previously. I also don't want too much role overlap.

I don't understand why this is as if life and death. People name their children whatever they like, their lineage plays different roles depending on the person. Me for example am Swedish, my name however is Godius Julius, etc. I personally think this has been taken into over reaction.

How is it odd? You're not helping me make my CS approvable, you're simply drawing it out.

I'm sorry, but you have to remove the Roman stuff. It's honestly out of place given that this RP follows Earth's real history until we get to the future stuff. If he was just namedl ike that, fine.

Name: Warren Novack
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Personality: Warren is a man who is willing to get his hands dirty. He knows the value of hard work and he knows it well, preferring to work with his hands rather than doing what he considers as boring desk work. In this way, schooling has never quite agreed with him, and while he is not stupid by any stretch of the imagination, he is perhaps not quite as well educated as your average person maybe. He is also, in a way, a traditionalist, preferring to keep with what he knows best and taking comfort in familiarity, while approaching the new and unknown with caution and mistrust.

History: The colony of Hyperion sits at the edge of UEG space. Initial efforts to colonize were thought to have failed after contact with the colony ships were lost, and efforts to recolonize or to search for survivors were cut short as tensions between the UEG and Casval began to rise. In truth, the colony ships did survive, but an error in calculations caused the ships to jump in a little too close to the planet's gravity well, and they were promptly pulled in and crashed onto the surface. There were many losses, but the survivors began to scrape together a life. While a large number of construction tools and supplies had been destroyed in the crash, a surprisingly large number of Mechanical Frames had survived relatively intact. Without contact from outside the planet, and lacking any real need for a military at the moment, the Mechanical Frames were put to use as industrial vehicles, used in mining, constructions, and the like. The colony was well on its way to becoming self-sufficient. Eventually, the colony was able to make contact with the UEG proper once more, and was once again a part of the fold, and with the war going on, the large number of experienced Mechanical Frame pilots the colony was able to supply was a massive boon.

Warren's family was on the poorer side of things. While initially everyone worked for the good of the whole, once society began reestablishing itself, the dice simply didn't fall in his favor. A mix of necessity and lack of interest meant that Warren did not receive the best education. As a teenager, he worked to help support his family, being allowed to pilot a Mechanical Frame simply due to the large availability of them at the time and lack of manpower, starting by working in construction before moving onto starship construction. Pilots were highly respected, as, at the time, they were the real only means of industrialization and setting up proper cities and infrastructure. As Hyperion grew more and more self-sufficient, however, regular industrial tools and vehicles began to be produced, vehicles which relied on less training than Mechanical Frames required, and with the contact made once again with the UEG, proper trade could begin and the Mechanical Frames were needed even less. Deciding that his place at home would soon no longer be needed, and education being something he lacked, Warren decided to join the UEG military as they would train him and give him a number of benefits as well, and his prior experience with Mechanical Frames made him a shoe in to join one of their academies.

Mechanical Frame:
Appearance: Warren uses a base model of the UEG Mechanical Frame that looks extremely worn and old. While Hyperion lacked the resources to completely refit the Mechanical Frames, modifications were still slapped on in order for them to fulfill their role as industrial workhorses.

Weaponry:

-Wrist Mounted Industrial Saw: A large circular saw, and a retractable casing that protects the saw when not in use mounted on the right forearm. The covering folds back, and the blade extends out over the MF's hand when in use. It's been designed to cut through metal, though properly cutting through, say, a MF limb, takes time, it is still capable of brutal damage. In its retracted state, the covering can be used as an impromptu buckler

-Wrist Mounted Arc Welder: A blocky machine covered with wires and dials mounted on the Mechanical Frame's left forearm, it is capable of extending two prongs that act as projectors for arcs of electricity strong enough to weld metal. This industrial tool is used just as well when melting armor or slagging joints. The arc welder has a relatively short range, but it can be a nasty surprise.

-Shoulder Mounted Rivet Gun: A small but long railgun mounted on the Mechanical Frame's right shoulder. As its name implies, it was designed to fire rivets and bolts at speeds to punch into starship hulls. It is laser assisted, and fires at a relatively fast speed, though it lacks range. After a few modifications, though, and having removed a few of the safeties, the railgun is now capable of building up an even stronger charge, firing the rivets at higher velocities and at further range, though this heavily decreases the firing rate.

-Jury-rigged Booster Pack: Originally designed for Mechanical Frame drag races back on Hyperion when workers needed to work out their stress with absurdly high speeds, the booster pack is capable of increasing the Mechanical Frame's land speeds with the use thrusters, and when given a suitably high platform or ramp to leap off of, is capable of limited gliding.

-Default Equipment: Other than the modifications listed, Warren's Mechanical Frame is also equipped with basic equipment available to most MFs. This includes a shield strapped to its left arm, over the arc welder, a beam rifle, and a superheated tomahawk strapped to its right thigh.

Ah, okay, no problem! Is everything else okay if I just change my mech?

Edit: I changed around my mech, it's completely different now. Hopefully it's unique enough to use.
