Meat the Wizard, Braud

Name: Braud Werst

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Race: Foodtopian (The Same as Human, in effect)

Personality: Braud is a very jolly man, though sometimes he can be a bit rash. It's all the testosterone in him. He's a great person to be around, and overall very fun. He's pretty carefree in most situation, but that doesn't mean he can't put together a good plan when he needs to. He's also not afraid to stick up for himself. If someone wants to talk shit, they gonna get hit.

Appearance: Braud Werst is, for lack of a better term, and for the sake of making a pun, a very meaty fellow. He stands at 5'5, and weighs about 250 pounds. He's very, very dense, and rather thick, but he would not be called fat by any standard. In fact, most of that weight is muscle, though he's not able to use it super well. Being in shape is just a by product of the kind of magic he uses. His hair is very short, cut military style, and a light auburn in color. His eyes are reddish, like a rare steak. He has a tendency to wear strapping leather clothes that allow a free range of movement, but still cover him up in full pants, and a long leather jacket/short sleeve shirt combo.

Weaknesses: First and foremost, Braud is slow. He's built to high heaven, but he can't run. Unless Beefed, he tops out at about ten miles an hour, max. He can hold this for a while because of his stamina, but you're not gonna be able to get his butt anywhere quick, so he needs to be watched in case some quicker baddie comes after him.

History: Braud was born in the land of The Cornukingdiom, an incredibly unclever combination of the words Kingdom and Cornucopia. The King is not a bright man. Anyway, this is where all of the Foodtopians live, masters of food and all things cuisine. Braud was born and raised here, joining the Royal Mage Army, specializing in meat, like his father and father's father before him. He made a name for himself as the premier mage around, made a lifelong friend in his buddy Gigglioti, the Noodle Knight, and set off for adventure!

My power was out yesterday and I was working today, which is why I've been mysteriously silent.

Well, i could let you in. After all, i said 4-5 people, not strictly 4. Seeing as you're brand new to this site though, i'll have to ask you a few questions first. For one, do you have any prior roleplaying experience? If yes, have you ever done a combat-focused RP like this? Do you understand how the arena section works around here?

I'd like to know because taking in someone new is kind of a risk. The arena is a very polarizing place, like half of the people who enter it for the first time disappear halfway through their first battle. It would be a shame if you would join only to drop out within a few days.

Yeah, I have some prior role-playing experience as I have played Dungeon and Dragons about once or twice, and before that I have gone on other forums before to do mostly casual roleplay. But a combat-based roleplay is something I dont think I have done before, and no as you said im new to this site so Im honestly not sure how this Arena Section works. (I expected it to be a place where roleplay that has heavy action/battle to be put at))

Lotta people commenting in Arena lately, new people especially. There was one guy about 5 days ago who came in boasting about how he was the best at roleplay, and would 'take people who interest him under his wing.'

Best part is? He stopped posting the moment that people called him full of shit. 5 day old account, never posted again.

What an ass.

It's a little more than that. It's used for RPs centered around battles without pre-determined results, where whether or not you can outperform your opponent makes up the meat of the RP. There's no dice or such, but it's rather technical in a different way. We use a general battle mechanic that at its core is based around one person launching an attack, the other receiving it, and then in reverse. The person receiving the attack determines whether or not they can avoid it and what effect it had on them. That way we have a reasonably fair system where the player with the best tactics wins the battle, as long as both players are honorable and trust each other not to godmod.

If you will, go have a look around some of the IC threads in the arena section to get an idea of what it's like. Skallagrim's Nexus of Worlds has plenty of content to look at, but the posts there are huge so it might take up too much of your time. We'll discuss this further once you've had a look and still feel like this suits you.

@LeeRoy, yeah i saw that guy too. Guess he was power-tripping when he wrote that. Thinking you're the best at something usually just means you have a twisted world view.

Oh yeah, and i'm finally posting the IC.

Do the bars on the cells go all the way up to the ceiling?

The cells are embedded into the walls, kinda like square 7x7x7 foot caves. So yes, the bars go up to their own ceiling. Not sure why you ask.

Alright, second question. How high is the normal ceiling? 10 feet? 15 feet?

I think the best part is that you think that I'm on the exact same page as you are, but I'm actually on the back cover and making assumptions based on that.

Hmmmmm... morning to you guys, anyway when I woke up, I looked around the Arena Roleplays and sought out the IC post of several roleplays, and I believe I could preform well with the other people, I'll just be a bit slow to consider the details of combat or ways to solve things in my posts.

The same can be said for finding a job. You need experience to get experience. Sometimes someone has to give you the first chance. (err...if life was fair, anyways. Yeah, trouble finding a job over here...)
And if they do disappear then we could just have their character eaten horribly my monsters for revenge! In my roleplay there was a possibility for a random monster to spawn near an inactive character and kill them instantly before disappearing into the shadows.

I'm working on a post now.
I'm wondering if my character can reduce the power of her fire balls to simply light torches rather than explode like a grenade, or if she can only light some of her body on fire rather than all of it (increasing the time she can have that body part stay lit by the amount of her body not on fire). If this is okay I'll say she can do it. It will come in handy, possibly much sooner rather than later. For example, even if they didn't have torches she could just light a finger on fire or someone to be a mini torch.
