Jack chuckled as the girl mentioned the tipsiness. He had been drinking for a while now; it took more than a few swigs of whiskey to get him tipsy. He looked around at the room, nothing to indicate either of them had been staying here and both seemed awkward with each other. Clearly they had only just met as well.

“Apart from that engine going on outside all seems the same. However any noise is going to draw a load of them from the town. So we are going to have to off it quick.”

His attention was lost as he slipped over to the front door and peeked out. The walkers were still crowded around the engine however it was clear their interest was waning and soon they would be wandering around again. As he turned he was about to speak again but the other guy had run off, mentioning something about the flag and a ladder. God this kid couldn't sit still, first he pushed desks around for now reason and now he was running off. He looked at the women and grinned sheepishly.

“Guess we should be following. If there is a ladder at least we can be above whatever comes out of the town. And maybe somebody up there has some more to drink.”

Jack could feel his hands shaking again and he stopped to the back door before swinging his hand in an elegant motion. Gesturing for a ladies first action.

James Morgan

James and Doc trotted along the road into Coalville at a gentle enough pace; it was faster than walking speed but slow enough that neither was loosing breath. They found themselves crouching around groups of cars rather than try weave through them, for although it left them more exposed it meant they were less likely to run head first into a biter. The road was mostly quiet apart from a couple of large groupings that the pair were careful to avoid. The two continued along what they assumed to be an A-road until they reached a T-junction. “Stephenson Industrial Estate” Doc read aloud straight off a signpost, “Chances are there’ll be a supermarket of some sort right?”

“Yeah” muttered James, not having really listened to what Doc had said. His attention was fixated on the sign below it that read:
(M1)
Leicester
A511

To James the sign seemed to promise that his fiancé was within arm’s reach but he knew better than to get his hopes up, especially when he had work to do. Turning around he realised that Doc had already begun walking up the road into the estate and so quickly paced after him. “Sorry, I was just thinking about something.” He said between a couple of pants.

“You’ll see her again James. But for now we need to just focus on staying alive ourselves.” Doc replied as he shot James a reassuring smile. There was something about Doc that made you trust him, made you believe every word he spoke, and even when he couldn't seem to find an answer to something you kept your faith in him. James put it down to him being a doctor, as after all surely doctors relied on people trusting them – or rather people relied on being able to trust their doctors.

The pair continued further up the road almost completely crouched the entire time. They could see beyond the various tree lines that surrounded each car park that the area was swarming with biters. Worse still most of the buildings appeared to belong to furniture or vehicle salesrooms, none of which would provide them with the supplies they sought after. It was appearing to be their lucky day however, for they chanced across a little burger van along the central road, one that perhaps once served hungry staff around the area during their breaks. Outside of it were four biters, two close together by the door, and two practically on their own. Doc and James exchanged some not-so-coordinated hand signals and by doing so decided how they would approach the situation. The biggest challenge they knew wasn’t so much killing the biters as much as doing it quickly and quietly as to not draw the attention of the nearby hoards.

James set off first at a quick sprint towards the furthest biter with his cue stick in hand, whilst Doc ran towards the closest, both approaching their targets at around the same time. As James reached the biter it turned towards him and let out an angry moan. It did not phase James however and using the cue as a spear he drove the broken end into the biters eye and continued to push it forwards as he raised it up, causing the biter to fall backwards. Standing over him James thrust the cue into the biter’s head a few times to ensure it was dead before turning and running to cover Doc, who by this time had moved towards the other two. Doc managed to sink his hammer into one of the biters with ease, but was unable to yank it out quick enough and the other managed to grab hold of his sleeve. “Fuck” he hissed as he tried futilely to yank away. James altered his grip on the cue and delivered a powerful swing to the back of the biters head. The biter stumbled into the van but didn’t die. James was about to swing for it when he realised that hitting the van would make noise and instead threw the cue to Doc before grabbing the biter and throwing him back onto the road. Doc watched silently as James mounted the biter and proceeded to beat it to death with his own fists.

Georgia narrowed her eyes at Jack, gripping her bat tighter. She slowly walked by him, ready to turn and bash his head in if he attempted anything. When he didn't do anything, she took off after the nerdy guy.

She quickly climbed the ladder, wincing every time it groaned at a shift of weight. She reached the top and found two more people along with Justin on the roof.

She held her hands up, then said,"I'm friendly if you're friendly."
