Physical Description: James is six foot two. He is broad shouldered and muscular. He is very tan at the moment, mainly on his face, since he tanned around his Army uniform. He has a messed up right knee. It is scared and usually has a knee brace on it. James is sensitive about his injury and tries to hide it as best as he can. He has a tattoo on his right back shoulder that has his squad crest and squad names on it. He also has a tattoo over his heart that has the gun and helmet memorial with the names and death dates on it. So far there are three names. James has black eyes and short dark brown hair that he keeps at a military buzz cut. (He can't help himself)

Personality: James is a pretty easy going guy most of the time. He's fiercely loyal to his squad and has tendencies to place their wants over his. He likes to hang out with people and joke around. When he's on the job, he's focused. Really focused. To the point that he can sometimes alienate people. He doesn't like people who try to tell him what not to do. He's stubborn enough that if someone tells him not to do it, he'll do it just to be annoying. James is happy with his life at the moment. He tries to believe the best about people and it usually disappointed when they fail to live up to his standards.

Family: James was born to his mother, Darian. He has a younger sister named Linda who was born two years after him. Linda looks up to James and is the only one in his family that he'll talk to. His father left when James was fourteen and was never seen from again. Angrily at the world, James enlisted himself into the Army at the age of seventeen. His mother unwillingly signed the papers for underage entry. The only reason why she did was that he said if she did not sign, he'd do something worse. The Army was good for James. It gave him stability he hadn't had since his father left. He loved being in the Army until he was given an honorable discharge after being crippled in the line of duty. After he came back home when he was twenty five, having seen eight years of service, he found himself unable to adapt to civilian life. He thought about joining the local police, but he couldn't pass their physical. So he became a private investigator at the age of twenty six. He has been a P.I. for almost a year now.

Weapons: A small handgun (Ruger)

Skills: James is a good investigator. He's good at following paper trails and people. He knows how to drive most vehicles and keep them in good repair. He's also good with guns.

Gwen hired James to look into her father's newest girlfriend Kara Smith. Gwen believes that Kara is scamming her father, David, out of his money. James looked into the case. Found out that Kara has a boy friend named Avery Higgins. Their relationship was strange so James looking into it more. He found out that Avery has a drinking problem, favorite bar is Zero's, and Kara isn't happy with him most of the time. James got Alice (Zero's Owner) to give him the address for Avery. When he went to Avery's place he was shot at and wrenched his knee. He was laid up for a few days and in the time his mother hired the bodyguards. Sadly, I don't remember their names. I know I call the younger one rainbow teen. Anyways, James reluctantly lets them do their job and takes out rainbow teen to Zero's. (At first he was going to go to the apartment, but changed his mind because he didn't want the teen to get hurt.)

Real villain: Morgan, a politician running for office. He's blackmailing Kara, who used to be a prostitute via his half-brother, Avery. Turns out he had an affair with Davi'd first wife, Susan before she died and he wanted David ruined out of spite.

Right, for a least the next three hours or so I'm going to be off and on. I have things to do before I really settle in. During that time I'll get everything about James sorted and try to make everything coherent. (Sometimes I totally fail on this one. I just think too weird...) If something doesn't make sense, feel free to speak up. ^^
His mother's name is Darien Parks. His sister is Linda Brown, aged 25
James Parks

Basic outline:
Client- Gwen Vale.
Gwen believe her father's fiance, Kara Smith is trying to steal her father's, David Vale, fortune. Gwen also believes that Kara is working with another person, a man, who is her real love.
Kara Smith- Late twenties, good looking. Never before married. Started dating David almost five months ago after they met at a charity ball. Kara at that event had been escorted by Senator Morgan.
David Vale- Late seventies. Not that good looking. Very wealthy. Had been married three times. His first wife, Bethany White, divorced him two years after they hod gotten married. The second wife, Susan Julian, died of a drug overdose after thirty years of marriage almost seventeen years ago. Police ruled her death an accident. The third wife, Nikky Green, divorced David after seven months. Within days David starting going out with Kara.
David's age:
19- Marries Bethany
22- Gets divorced

Senator Morgan- No know relation to anyone in the case at the point the RP starts. He is an older man, about 60.
Avery Dale Higgins- After following Kara James finds out that she does in fact hang out with a man often while David is at work. After some investigating, James finds out that this man is Avery. It looks as if Gwen is correct. However James doesn't think Kara likes Avery at all. He follows them both and more often than not they end up scream at each other with their arguments ending with Kara being very upset.

And those are all the players so far. The basic idea is that yes, Kara is in fact after David for his money. However Kara really does like David. But she'd being forced to scam him by Avery. Avery is working for Senator Morgan. Morgan knew Susan Julian, David's second wife, back when she was still alive. Morgan blackmailed her into helping him win his campaign to become senator. She covered up his past to make him look all american. In reality Morgan is the son of Fredrick Carlin, a local gang boss. Morgan is loyal to his family and uses his position to help them out. Kara was picked by Morgan because she was a prostitute and he blackmailed her into doing what he wanted in order to stay out of jail. Avery is Morgan's step-brother, from the same mother, different father. Morgan wants to ruin David because Susan wouldn't leave David for him.

Tres Protection Co.: (they's got pictures but I've not uploaded them, will try to do that right now)
1. Venti Daela (interpersonal): 18 yrs. old, youngest brother. Five foot seven. Adolescent build. Dyed hair of different colors, looks younger than his age. Venti is all about being there for someone. The emotional component of the crew. Strength is divining the purpose behind behavior and non-verbals. (weapons are knives, and small caliber handguns)
2. Amel Daela (kinesthetic): 22 yrs. old, middle brother. Adopted. Mixed heritage. Six foot four. Stocky build. Shaved head. Likes to get his hands dirty. Strength is physical things and brute force. (weapons are varied, just as long as they are big)
3. Harper Daela (literary): 26 yrs. old, eldest brother. Six foot two. Slender build. Long blond hair generally kept in a braid. Glasses. Computer genius, graduate of MIT. Strength is information gathering. (weapons are katanas, knives, garottes, chemical compounds, and if necessary he carries a beretta)

That is awesome... yeah - I have all of my PM stuff, because I need to reference when things go on long enough (due, in great part to the fact I'm on so sporadically) - though I've sadly lost all of the things I had up on threads.

Anyway - I've put up all I had, did it in more than one post, however, because I wanted to try and keep some of the formatting, so it is chunked out. :) But it's all there!!! yay!

I think it will just take a week or so for people to trickle back in. The PM system coming back up and the counters and the emailing systems will all help, once they're running once more.
I know what you mean, though. I have some RPs that have been going for over a year and one of them, I am fairly sure only got on when they received an email to say to get on - so with that system gone, it's highly unlikely they'll return. :(

Yeah, I totally stalked the FB page and the alt site too. And I haven't seen them. But I will wait longer until I give up. After all, I've already waited this long.
Most of my partners were active, but one who wanted to come back and then the site went down.

Wow. I think that's the shortest I've written for this, but I knew Venti couldn't restrain himself from making a comment, so I stopped for his sake. :D

I did enjoy my dinner. Homemade chicken and dumplings. Mmmm.

As for length of posts, please don't worry about that. The posts are going to be whatever length works for the moment and as you were stuck with the "get them to the stairs" bit, your post wasn't really needing to be much longer than it is. (Although, then I lost it in the stairs, but that was just because Venti is a chatty bugger, really it is.)

Venti is a Chatty Cathy and I am afraid you are right. If we gave him too much time on the board, he might very well take things into his own hands. *L* Luckily, he has his brothers to balance him out. Once the conversation with Alice is done, I'm sure we'll be ready for a change of the guard.

Also - now that PMs are up, would you rather keep this in threads or move it to PM-status? Either is fine with me. I'm having an equally hard time keeping track of both at the moment. *LOL*

Ah - and... canned soup in college - you were a step above me. It was breakfast bars (chocolate of course), top ramen, mac n'cheese, and anything one could get at the cafeteria. Canned soup would have been a step up. (Though, the cafeteria had this cheesecake to die for, I do remember that. There was always joy on cheesecake day.)
