I really need to start listening better. Ren thought as the professor spoke to him. This temptaint thing could be really useful, like she said, if I can't see them, how am I supposed to shoot them? And I'm the only one without one... that means alone time with the professor! Score! Excitement welled up in Ren at the thought of being able to see things he never had. His sense of adventure was something to be rivaled only by his skill with a pistol. Though seeing something knew wasn't the only thing he was excited for, the main reason was standing at the front of the class.

"Not having the Tempttaint just means that we have to expose you to a demon, in very strict and confined area. Which we can organise for this afternoon" Oliva said to Ren, "Do not fear, its a very controlled exposure, and with senior exorcists watching, and prepared to intervene if that is necessary" she said, in a calm tone.

"I will also be testing you all, to fit you to your classifications" Oliva added, "And then your training will consist of the arts of exorcism, such as studying demons, their pharmacology, weaknesses, how to fight them, studying holy scripture recitations, magic circles and the likes"

Cassandra frowned when Oliva said about testing them, and looked to her sword, uneasy. When she drew it...she shivered, and looked at her desk, drawing her eyes away from her sword. She couldn't control herself when she held her sword, no matter how much she wanted to.

She listened to what they would be taught, and thought it was the basic collection of things that they needed to know. She sighed, and leaned back in her chair

I won't need help Ren thought. Just a little demon! A perfect opportunity to show off to the professor. If he couldn't handle one demon, that might spell bad news for Ren. He planned on taking on quite a bit more than one. He was practiced in speed shooting and quick-drawing. He should be fine against five or six targets easily, human ones anyways. She'll see what I can do soon enough. They'll all see what I'm capable of. The only thing that made him nervous about the tests were the non-combat parts, so basically everything. He had barely heard of demons before coming here. He sure had a lot to learn. He shifted in his chair, suddenly uncomfortable with his surroundings, and even more so with his ineptitude at demon fighting.

Lorenzo's eyes almost popped out of his head when he heard that they would be testing them for their classifications as he put a hand on his blade handle and instantly pulled his hand away from it, he hated taking out his sword unless it was necessary and it was the main reason why he wanted to be a dragoon so he would be able to avoid using it unless needed to. Lorenzo understood that they needed to be tested but he only hoped that he wouldn't be forced to use his own sword cause if he did people would mistake him for an angel because of the white flames, but he knew better cause he was far from it and it would be seen the second he started to laugh and attack everything around him. he hated who he became during those moments when his demon form slipped through his swords sheath. he clenched his fists hoping that they wouldn't use real swords

"Demons are not like humans, do not make the mistake of underestimating them. It takes considerable skill to fight a demon, and to do what we exorcists do" Oliva said, her voice changing, becoming stricter "I will not have you acting like idiots, thinking that just because you are here, you know what you are doing. No, you are here because you don't know what you are doing and are here to learn. And perhaps learn enough to survive. You are not here to impress anyone. You are here to become an exorcist"

She looked over the students, nodding towards Cassandra and Lorenzo, "fear not" she said softly "you will be given training swords." She said no more then that "well then, shall we move on out? Your classifications are important, after all"
Cassandra listened to the mini lecture, inwardly rolling her eyes. It was common sense to her. She was actually eager to start learning, and all this beginning stuff just reminded her of high school. Thank god they hadn't been made to introduce themselves and tell the others a bit about them.

She grimaced as Oliva singled her, and Lorenzo out, saying to them that they would be given training swords. They was the professor said it, it seemed to Cassandra, that Oliva knew something about Cassandra that Cassandra didn't, aside from being half demon.

Cassandra frowned, uneasy. What was she missing here? She sighed, and shook her head, dropping it into a hand, more then ready to start

I can't believe I have to study. Books weren't his strong suit. He got by in high school because he took easy classes where he was naturally smart enough to pass without looking at textbooks. He liked to focus more on real world skills, or more-so skills he could practice without reading. This is so lame...Maybe I could just get a private study session with that girl over there. He thought while glancing over at the black haired girl and only girl in the class besides the teacher. Maybe this could be fun, who knows. More importantly though, why did the professor just nod at those two and not the other kid with a sword? Maybe her neck got tired or she thought it was unnecessary. Uh or its something important! I'll have to figure it out. Ren liked to observe people, or anything. His father taught him to take everything in, or you might miss something and this was a place where you couldn't miss anything. If you do, you might get killed.

Lorenzo knew the obvious about being here to learn after all if he didn't come to learn then he wouldn't be here, he wasn't trying to be a cowboy and just fight like crazy he needed to know more about what he was and more about his father. Lorenzo looked at the teacher confused thinking she may have figured him out already but what baffled him the most was why he called out Cassandra as well, was she afraid of using her sword or something? Lorenzo started to think that the teacher knew something about his sword but it was to soon to call her on it but for the time being he would stay quiet like he usually did. he stood up as the teacher opened the door outside leading us down the hall to the practice area for knights and dragoon users since that's what most of us were going to be as Lorenzo went and picked up a practice sword waiting for the teacher to give us instructions on what to do and how to show we were able to be in the classifications we wanted, on instinct Lorenzo held his blade towards himself instead of outward since his demon sword was smaller then most swords he had gotten use to the action

Cassandra felt someone's eyes on her, and she looked about the room, seeing the brown haired guy that she assumed was named Ren, judging by the teacher calling him that. She blinked, and rose when Oliva led the way out, but she stopped, and went over to him. "is there something you wanted?" She asked "You were staring at me." She frowned, then said, "I'm Cassandra. Ren right?" Cassandra was normally a happy person, but things hadn't been easy lately, and she was clearly just tired, even if she was eager to learn.

She brushed back her hair, ,and waited for a reply as Oliva led them to a training room, she picked up a training sword, feeling it for weight, balance and hold.
When all the students were in the training area, which was designated for dragoons and Knights for the moment, she turned to them. "I basically want to know your skills. First up, I will have Cassanda and Lorenzo fight each other, and then we will move on to showing what you can do with the weapons you have, or what skills you have-if you have any"

She smiled at them all, and stepped back to allow them room.

Shit, she saw. Ren thought as the black haired girl walked over to where he was sitting. The way she spoke was very direct and to the point. No fooling around with this one. “Yeah, you got that right, I’m Ren. Nice to meet you Casssandra.” The head nod at those two was still itching at the back of his mind, but he decided not to ask. “Hey, we best get going then huh! I’ll have to see what you and, Lorenzo? Yeah, Lorenzo and that other kid have for skills with those swords. I’ll teach you a thing or two about pistols… but you’ll have to watch close.” He said with a wink. He looked ahead and let Olivia lead on.

When they arrived in the room the professor said that Lorenzo and Cassandra would fight each other. Maybe thats what the nods were for? A warning for a fight? Hmmm… maybe. I guess I’ll see. Either way, he was sure it would peak his interest. Ren was a curious guy. He took his spot with against the wall with a clear view of the fight and a clearer view of Olivia.

Lorenzo looked at the teacher seeing that she wanted us to fight first, he looked at his hand to see the way he was holding his practice sword and he started to tense and relax his hand so he could be ready knowing he had to tense to block and relax to counterattack. he went to the center of the room as he got ready he cracked his knuckles and he got into his fighting position he looked carefully at Cassandra trying to find a weakness in her fighting stance, before he charged first! instantly he charged and he flipped sideways in the air so he could bring down his sword to attack her over head with more force then a normal strike knowing that if she blocked it he would easily be able to do a quick follow up attack, if Lorenzo had nothing else he was a speed fighter shooting attacks one after the other when possible...

Cassandra managed to smile, "I'm going to be a knight, not a dragoon, but I guess knowing how to shoot would be a good skill to have" She said to Ren, looking to Oliva as she said she'd be fighting Lorenzo.

She picked up her practice sword, and walked over to where she'd fight Lorenzo. She held the sword ready, planting her feet into a fighting position, watching Lorenzo, taking stock of how he stood, and how he held his sword. She hadn't trained much with her sword, mainly because of losing control when she used it, but her...well, the man she thought was her father had trained her in some fighting skills. She had enjoyed that, and it was nice to be able to use them.

As Lorenzo attacked her, Cassandra spun, as he flipped sideways through the air, raising her sword to block, and then knowing he would follow up, she broke the block, and jumped back, before attacking, bringing her practice blade around, watching him, waiting for any sign on what he was going to do.

When Cassandra jumped back after the block Lorenzo got back into his stance and instead jumped to her right side to do a low strike against her legs and if she jumped over his strike he knew she would be vulnerable so he would then punch her chest, he started to smile feeling the demon in him start to enjoy this fight more and more

Cassandra smiled, perhaps a bit wickedly, bringing her blade down to block his strike, twisting her body about so he couldn't hit her as she blocked. This was a good fight, she thought, and one she hoped she wouldn't lose. She kept herself calm, or tried to, but there was a side of her that she just couldn't suppress, no matter how much she wanted to.

And right now, she didn't want to.

"I know you" She said softly, as she moved to attack, bringing her blade up, and around her body to slash at him, using most of her strength in an attack to, when he blocked make it hard.

Oliva watched this fight, ready to intervene at a moments notice, and stop the fight from becoming too...vicious.

Lorenzo grinned wide feeling his rush of excitement his demon side starting to show as he started laughing "come on!" Lorenzo growled dodging her slash attack he then spin towards her and hit over her head again adding double the power from the last attempt. His demon side was starting to show more and more and Lorenzo was starting to lose his grip of restraint ready to bring out his flanges again and destroy Cassandra

Before Cassandra could even contemplate a counterblow, Oliva stepped between them, "Okay, that's enough" She said.

Cassandra growled, but Oliva quite calmly stared at her until she backed down. She grumbled, and put the training sword down, going over to the wall and leaning against it as if nothing had happened, but she kept her eyes on Lorenzo, brushing back her hair.

"Well then" Oliva said after a moment, "Who wants to go next to show me what you know?"

Lorenzo was about to attack Olivia instead until he saw that stare, that stare of people despise towards him he grows his sword tight breathing deeply trying to calm down from his demon rage after a moment his smile faded and he dropped his training sword immediately sitting down to relax as he sat against the wall nearby hating himself that he almost lost control when he didn't even release his demon blade

These guys are good, they could probably kill me in a heartbeat if they got close. Ren thought as he watched the two fight. It was strange that he couldn't even look away. Not even at Olivia. The fight had all his attention, and the longer it went, the more intense it grew. He swore Lorenzo at one point looked... different. His demeanor had definetly changed anyways, from a calm, normal kid, to what seemed like a battle crazed lunatic. The smile he had haunted him. It didn't seem to phase Cassandra though. She took every blow in stride and kept pace with his crazy, speed based fighting style. She seemed to focus more on smart, and precise movements, whereas Lorenzo went for more of a bezerker tactic. Those two are on a whole different level.

Olivia broke up the fight when it seemed like it was at its climax. No need to kill each other on the first day I guess. She then asked who wanted to be tested next. He supposed its now or never, he just wondered what she had in store for him. "Yeah, professor. I suppose I could show off a little bit." He turned to Lorenzo and Cassandra,"Just watch closely. You won't want to miss this." He said with a smirk.

Cassandra couldn't help but think there was something about Lorenzo that she...just recognised. What it was, she didn't know, but every time she got a glimpse at his eyes, she seemed disturbed. Her eyes would travel to his gloved right hand, wondering why he only wore one glove like she did.

She knew her reason, to hide the birthmark on her hand that marked her for what she was. Just like her sword would mark her for what she was when she would draw it. Just like she had felt from Lorenzo in the fight, just before Oliva had broken them up.

But what did it mean? Surely, he couldn't be like she was, half demon, could he? If that was so, then what mark did he wear under his gloved right hand?

She tore her gaze away from Lorenzo as Oliva seemed to move on in the class. She had to give Ren credit, he took confidence to a whole new level, and she couldn't help but smile. "Pride goeth before a fall, Ren" She said cheerfully, as Oliva turned toward him.

"Alright then, Ren. Let me see what skills you have. You said you wanted to be a dragoon, correct? Prove that you at least have some base skills for such a classification" Oliva said

Lorenzo put a hand against his head to keep himself calm and composed taking a moment before looking up to hear what rin said about showing off to us and it really didn't matter to Lorenzo at this point, he felt so ashamed almost loosing himself like that feeling like he wasn't getting any better at controlling himself now everyone was going to think he was insane or something and be afraid to even be near him anymore, Lorenzo wants to be an exorcist but how will it work if nobody will even trust him to keep control of himself. he did notice that Casandra was able to keep up with him however which was odd since most people would have been hit 4 different times before Olivia stepped in to stop him he started to think that either Cassandra was well trained or that she may be like him and as the saying goes it takes one to know one so she must have read my berserker movements or something. right now though Lorenzo was just trying to calm his heart beat so he could get back to normal quicker and pretend that the fight didn't happen

Kiddo was sitting watching Lorenzo and Cassandra fight for a little while, swords clashing as they battled for a very long time. Kiddo knew they had skill and it made him happy to know he had people like that on his side. Kiddo watched the fight stop once Olivia stepped in. Once stopped Lorenzo looked light headed, Kiddo wanted to ask what was wrong but thought it best to let him recover after the battle he just had. Ren stepped into the ring making a smart ass remark while passing the others. Kiddo was waiting to see if Ren could live up to his remark.
