We're still ACCEPTING!
Connor narrowed his breathing as Rand turned the car into the town. They hadn't spoken much as they drove out here unlike the other trips. No, this was much more serious. The problem was that not even Rand had a full idea of what was happening in the town. There had been a large number of disappearances inside little Colver that made this place far too suspicious. Connor looked down at what was in his lap. It was a full encyclopedia of supernatural that was created by Rand. In it there were dozens of descriptions of all kinds of supernatural, and most importantly told how to kill each and every one of them. Connor gulped, he still hadn't killed any yet, and had no idea what would happen in this town.

Rand pulled up to a rather large building that had clearly been abandon for a while. Stopping the car Rand hopped out and grabbed several items. "Alright, the others should be arriving soon," he said as he walked inside. Connor grimly nodded and put on his backpack as he followed the veteran hunter in. Inside, Rand started setting up equipment and prepared a wall for his investigations. "I'm feeling like this'll be a long one, you ready for a wild ride?" Rand gave an icy grin to Connor which just made him shake.

`````````````````````````````````````
The screams inside the school echoed around the halls. From the teacher's lounge, Nixon came out with an exquisite look on his face. Approaching one of his men, Nixon sat down on a chair and leaned back. "Right. Good screams for torture and has a nice innocent look while in pain. Still a virgin so I suppose some will be interested in that. Put her down for torture prostitute," Nixon summarized. The man gave a brief nod and wrote down the info. "The first boy doesn't react well but from out reports is easily swooned by attractiveness of girls so succubus slave for him. The second one is nice and tough but looks like he'll cry when put to the whip so I suppose broken servant." After the written reports were finished Nixon bounced up from his chair and walked down the hall. "Right! We need at least five more slaves to send back in this next shipment people so let's get this down with!" The vampire stopped one of his men as they started walking. "Oh! Can you get 204 chained up for me in a separate room? She looked quite lovely and I didn't want her to get away from me just yet." The man nodded and walked off to complete the task. Nixon grinned and waltzed down the hall, ready for another day.
Jaitheia walked the streets of Colver as she tried to figure out what her nightmares supposed to be about. All she knew was it was through her eyes, and one of her relatives dead on the table from something unknown. Her mother always told her that messing with the occult was a bad thing, but she just didn't listen to her at all. Must be the paranoia that her mother had when she sworn she messed with something that she shouldn't have had. Now a days it's not safe for anyone to walk on the street when a lot disappearances were reported. It didn't bother her much then again she tries to stick near areas that have a larger traffic and to avoid walking at night. Every time she would go for a walk her phone would continually ring and text messages will stack up. All from her mother of course. "Don't know why she is so paranoid all the time. I am old enough to take care of myself, I'm not that stupid mother." Jaitheia muttered as she read the fifteen text messages that her mother left on her phone. For someone that isn't really tech savvy, she sure did pick up text messaging like a fish in water. All she was doing was picking up a book about the different kinds possessions people had said they went through. A quick and sudden blackout frightened when she thought about the book. Hours if not days were lost when these blackouts happened, well it felt like days to her since it was happening to her. The small park came into view and she thought it was a good idea to rest under one of the trees to let the bout of dizziness that comes before one of her blackouts. Leaning against one of the trees, Jaitheia let out a sigh when she felt irritated at the weakness she was feeling.
Dexter Morgan walked around the shipping container he called home. Having just arrived in town, Dexter found this as a viable spot for his base. "As you gather more followers, how are you gonna provide them with a place to stay?" Dexter heard a voice say. He turned around and faced himself. His rational but dark self. This Dark Dexter provided the real Dexter with rational thought and things that he needed to think about before acting. "We can find better place to go or open more shipping containers." Dexter replied.
A fake humorous laugh escaped the Dark Dexter. "And when those mundane folks open up the containers and see you have a colony of vampires...." Dark Dexter made a cutting motion across his throat. "Hmmmmm...." Dexter thought for a moment. He only had just started to create his "child." He had a few vampires part of his colony, a girl by the name of Margaret, who he first turned. Margaret was nowhere to be seen so Dexter assumed she was out scouting or hunting.
"I won't let this be the death of me. This is going to keep me alive." Dexter thought for a moment. "I can use a warehouse as a base after gathering more comrades." Dark Dexter nodded in approval. With that the real Dexter exited the shipping container embracing the night. He decided to wait for his vampire comrades to come back. He felt like it was time to expand
Zzyxx listened to Nixon's instructions carefully. He wrote down what he ordered and handed the written instructions to another minion of Nixon's to be followed through with. "You can go to Grandma's house later Wolf." Zzyxx said cracking a smile at the werewolf. He then followed Nixon. His waltzing reminded Zzyxx of his old days. "You know your waltz is off beat. It's 3 2 not 4 4." Zzyxx directed towards Nixon. He liked making fun of his superior. He was lucky he was a good worker though, otherwise he probably be dead by now.
A man ran up to Zzyxx and handed him a report. "Sorry it took so long Mr. Dean, sir." The man said. "If you took any longer I'd have to do it myself. I'd rather not too. I have more important things to attend to." Zzyxx read the the report. "Nixon. It appears we have some traces of a few vampires, five or so, lurking in this area. Do you want anyone to check it out?"
The forest was so vibrant at night. She could see all the leaves, animals even the little precipitation forming on the grass blades for the morning. Though Margaret didn’t like it at all, it made her head throb and her body dizzy. ‘Oh wait…no I liked to be called Maggie. Momma called me that.’ Another sharp pain filled her head at remembering that basic detail about herself; she bent over her sitting position on the large rock and clutched her head. Dexter called her Margaret when she first rose out of the ground that fateful night, claiming that it was on her driver’s license in her purse. That was three days ago, and the memories had gradually started to come back to her.
That night was a Thursday, it said so on her cell phone and that meant it was now Saturday. It was hard to keep track of time when she was only up at night and her phone since died and Dexter’s place, an old shipping container didn’t have a clock or many windows. Strangely enough she accepted the fact that she was a vampire quite well. Dexter had told her right of the back that vampires were real and he was one and he’d just made her one. Maggie felt some sort of loyalty and almost love for him and respect from him trusting him completely. Of course her having no recollection of anything but her name, and that he was now her ‘father’ helped some but as the memories came back she grew to resent him, though she didn’t know why.
Dexter had shown her some of the basics of being a vampire, retracting her fangs were one thing that scared her the most. He said that they were a natural part of her being and would come out at natural times. So far they had never come out involuntary she just arched her mouth and they’d pop out, the heightened senses was something she hadn’t quite gotten the hang of yet, hence the never ending pain in her entire head; mouth, ears, eyes and all. The speed though, was by far her favorite perk. She was like a bullet right on and never got tired, though she wasn’t nearly as fast as Dexter.
Maybe running will soothe her migraine. She got up and speed across the meadow into the tree line only to stop and clutch her stomach in pain. This hunger was so intense and it never seemed to go away, it spread through her entire abdomen and into her limbs. That first night after Dexter brought her to the shipping container he…had a man there waiting. He showed her how to feed and retracted his fangs sinking them into the man’s neck. What happened next was completely out of her control and on instinct she retracted hers and latched onto the man’s wrist greedily sucking on his warm sweet tasting blood. But with his screaming and begging ringing in her sensitive ears she let go, realizing that if they kept going he would die. But Dexter never stopped, he kept going until the man grew limp and was actually mad that she stopped.
After that Dexter left her to her own devices, stating that she wasn’t as wild and uncontrollable as most newborn vampires and didn’t have to watch her 24/7. So she began wondering in the woods at night. That same primal instinct would come over her now and again and Maggie would seek out the first living body she could find, usually a rabbit or squirrel and drain it completely of life their blood tasted like dirt but it held off the hunger, and she figured better them than an actual person. A rustling about ten feet away made her snap her head up towards its direction, her fangs popped down and the instinct took over again. Maggie took off towards it pouncing on top of it growling at the tiny squeal it made as she clutched it into her hands. She bit into the rabbit’s soft fur and drained it, dropping the corpse to the floor. She leaned up against a tree wiping her bloodied mouth on the sleeve of her filthy hoodie and looked at her wrist in confusion at the shiny metal band on it.
All of a sudden the pain in her head is back, only this time never going away. She screamed in agony it felt as her head was splitting open. For a moment she thought she was going to die, but then the pain stopped. She paused breathing heavily thinking it was over when all of her memories came bursting back into her mind, who she was, where she was from, her family, Dexter, “Dexter…” She uttered in the darkness.
I was walking down West Maple Street with my friend Melony; we were sneaking out to go to this barn party at the Greggs family farm. Daddy will be so mad if he finds out but I don’t care! I’m too excited about seeing Jonah Gregg, god he is so cute and the most popular guy in school. I can’t believe he invited me personally! Mel and I were turning the corner about to head onto the dirt road to the farm when a loud banging startled us. We turned around to see a little black cat digging into a trashcan; we laughed and turned back around only to stop again at the sight before us.
A young man is standing there grinning brightly at us. His hands are covered in blood and he’s got a blood soaked knife. Melony screamed and took off running back down the street leaving me alone with him, I closed my eyes expecting him to stab me but was shocked to see him running past me catching up to Melony wrapping his arms around her throat and midsection leaving her immobile. I want to run, I want to so badly but I pick up a heavy rock on the dirt road and start running towards the man bringing it down onto his head with a sickening crunch. I freeze when he doesn’t even flinch instead dropping Melony and turning around to face me with a look of curiosity. I drop the rock and continue the staring contest with the man looking him directly into his cold dead eyes. Melony has taken off already once again leaving me behind completely defenseless. He smiles that twisted smile again and purrs, “I guess it’s meant to be you then.”, and scoops me up over his shoulder taking off deep into the woods.
He ignores my cries of protest as he slows his superhuman speed down to a walk completely unaffected by hits and threats even my attempts of getting free of him are futile, he was like a rock. We reach a clearing without much trees or vegetation and he finally stops and throws me to the roughly to the ground. Before I can register what’s happening he is on top of me looking deeply into my eyes. Cold realization at the fact that he may rape me brings tears to my eyes as I whimper in protest. He chuckles and moves the hair from my face almost tenderly, “Don’t worry. I think you’ll do just fine in my world.” Two sharp teeth jut out from his mouth as he sinks them into my throat. I’m so shocked I can’t even scream my mouth only opens in silent awe as the tears finally spill over. He’s drinking my blood…my fucking blood! Time goes by and he continues to suck though much of my blood has been spilled on the dirt, and I feel my body grow cold and stiff as my vision fades in and out. He stops and is breathing heavily as he raises up off of me looking almost scared himself. I can do nothing but lay there not able to feel my arms and legs anymore. He takes the knife in his hand and cuts into his own throat bringing my head towards it. I wince and weakly turn my head away but he directs it back ordering me his voice deep and husky, “Drink it now before it closes.” I start to turn my head again and he adds, “You’ll die if you don’t.” and forces my lips on his neck and I have no choice but to swallow or I’d choke. My world goes black.
Maggie comes rushing out of the vision and to the present she’s still on the forest floor, the rabbit corpse near her feet. She begins to hyperventilate and panic at all she’s just remembered. Tears flowing to her eyes at the realization that Dexter took her from her life and turned her into a bloodsucking beast against her will. She began to sob at the memory of her mother and father especially her older brother who was returning home from college today. Above all things she is furious, she screams and runs around the forest in a mad rage ,draining two more rabbits in cold blood lust not even caring that the blood sprayed all over her body. She needed to know why he did it. She dropped the second rabbit feeling somewhat restored of energy as she took off at full speed to the shipping container. Her enhanced vision allowed her to see him from a full mile away as he was standing outside of the container as if he were waiting for her. She sprinted right up to him looking at him dead in the eye in rage trying her best to speak clearly with her fangs still out, “I remember everything. Why did you do this to me?” she asked her voice cracking some as the tears flooded back.
Jess laid her cards spread down, facing up, and the corner of lips turned up. Her other hand reached out and pulled the cash toward her. 249 bucks, a silver cross necklace, and bottle of red nail-polish contributed by the 19 year old arm candy of a hunter Jess knew as Rob. The girl was sweet, but rubbish at poker and at an immediate glance obviously not cut out for this life. She'd be gone in a week, one way or the other. There was the clink of a glass and a frustrated groan from one of the other hunters as Jess stood and folded her money, giving the others a two fingered salute and dropping a 20 on the bar counter before exiting. She would make it there just as the others would. No one else like driving through the night, but Jess was always a night owl, so she'd be several hours ahead, and make up for it by stopping for her alone time.
The piece of crap 1971 Chevy Nova Ss parked terribly tilted out front of the highway bar was Q, her lovely little light blue junkyard car. It used to be a classic Buick, Gatsby, her trusty steed since a nasty nest of vamps was taken down off I90 in Colorado, and one of them left it behind. Her first kill with the group. But a nasty car accident a few months back had Jess resorting to snatching an old car from a junkyard. It was Natalie's idea to name him Q. Nat had said in her letter that Jess and her new car's meeting was an 'encounter of the quirky kind', a show Natalie had seen with her.. their parents. So frumpy little sky blue Chevy was Q. Stick shift with a sticky 3rd gear and a trippy brake light; the trunk was terribly cramped as well.
The road was mostly empty, and her only notice that she was nearly there was the broken down house she'd taken on a ghoul in years earlier, and several blocks later, sure enough, two familiar heads came into sights. The car slid lightly on the gravel as it came to a stop, and Jess pulled out the keys and stepped out of the car, rocks crunching beneath her boot. Just as she was pulling up, Connor and Rand were just about to head inside the large abandoned building.
"Hey Randy, got that 20 I owe you," she said, as she rounded the car and popped the trunk to bulk up.
Beretta fully loaded in hand, dagger in her boot, and an extra automatic handgun in her waistband. Whatever shit is was that this place was holding, she was as ready as she'd ever be for it. So she figured.
Through night-vision goggles, a man clad in a black, form-fitting, cloth-armor uniform watched the writhing, screaming young vampire from his perch high in a wolf tree. His face was completely covered in a black sash, leaving only his eyes exposed. His long, black hair tied out of the way, he reached with fingerless black gloves to the quiver on his back. The girl was prone, crazed with the pain of her condition. Damien gave thanks that she would not suffer the curse of bloodthirst long.
It wasn't that difficult, really, to know what was going on. The vampires had simply come to the wrong town. Colver was home to two longstanding hunter families, and there was no delay in their picking up on the pattern of disappearances. They didn't hunt just the supernatural, of course, and when the bodies of small mammals, pets, and even deer began turning up in the woods, mutilated, but not eaten... The reason was clear. The new fledglings were struggling with survival, trying not to feed on their own kind.
Damien's father had been a good one, they say, who's uniquely keen senses kept him alive long enough for his name to be remembered. Perhaps that was why he kept going out there, feeling needed, feeling like it wasn't fair that he had always survived when others hadn't. Damien wasn't old enough to have recognized him, on the day he didn't come home, but always and ever afterward, his father had been his hero.
Damien narrowed his eyes as he drew back the bow, his heart hardening to the humanistic appearance of the crying vampire. He heard her say the name, which sounded like Dexter, and he paused. He didn't know why he paused. He didn't really think about it. He'd killed vampires before, and each time, as swiftly as possible, as if his life depended on it, and of course it always did. They weren't human any longer, but even moreso, they were suffering animals. He delt mercy to them, and to all they would have also turned or fed upon as the years went by. That was why it had to be done. There was never any regret and never any glory. The stylized twin snakes on the shaft of his unnamed black bow faced the girl, and soundlessly, the poisoned arrow loosed.
Poisoned you say? Yes. Vampire hunters as a group were not recognized or funded publicly, for obvious reasons, but thankfully, what was cheap, worked. Even vampires, and other supernaturals still had to live and function in a world bound by at least a few laws of physics. No force of will alone could prevent a bomb from exploding or force cyanide to release its bind with hemoglobin. Vampires wouldn't die, but they did become temporarily paralyzed. It was long enough to walk up and slaughter them with a blade, which was Damien's preferred method. A kill was so gratifying after all the prepwork it took. Modern hunters had to spend hours listening to the police radio, tapping 911, patrolling, and not to mention illegally stocking and using weapons and chemcals for explosives. It was important to avoid the attention of the general public law enforcement. There was also a huge amount of physical and mental training. Stealth was just as important as strength, and knowing how to fight hand-to-hand always paid off one way or another.
With a puff of wind, the bolt sank into the dirt right next to Margaret's head.
Damien froze. With any luck, she wouldn't know what had happened, wouldn't know to follow the tail of that arrow, and wouldn't be able to find him. His scent purged and masked, the human hunter kept perfectly still, his eyes on her. Slowly, he measured his breaths, keeping himself calm as he was trained. They said elder vampires could hear heartbeats. He didn't need his racing just because he missed. Intently, he watched her every move. Slowly, he began reaching for the next arrow.
Nixon looked over Zzyxx carefully before cocking his head slightly. His righthand was useful for these reports and updates, especially while Nixon was busy with some of the prisoners, but the news made him interested. A vampire group would make sense to what was generally happening in the town. Of course while Nixon would happily announce himself as this successful there were several planned kidnaps that went awry because that person was simply no longer there. A nest trying to get new members would certainly add up. "We may need to inform them of our standing business here," Nixon muttered, his back leaned back against the wall and his head looking up at the ceiling. "They'll cause enough problems for us, not to mention the hunters they'll probably draw." The vampire blinked down the hallway and waved to his demon friend. "Come on then Dean, we shouldn't be burning...stuff. Actually burning stuff would be fun, and that should be the school when we're done." Nixon gave a grin and started running out of the school.
Rand gave a happy wave over at Jess as she pulled up. "Good seeing you Jess, and I'm glad you remembered the debt," he chirped, not mentioning that he already forgot about it. Connor gave a steady wave at the huntress and continued setting equipment up. Rand gave a quick glance over at Connor then looked back at Jess. "Right, so I know I hardly said anything over the phone but I'm almost sure that we have supernatural in this town somewhere who're causing the lovely townspeople to go missing. From what I've seen this building might be home to an angry spirit who was made around 1830, or it's a nice place to set up our stuff to stay at for the next few days until we figure out what's happening." Connor looked over all the equipment he had set up then gave a glare at Rand, who replied with a simple shrug. "Sorry," Rand apologized. "But it's nice for you to do it twice ya know? It makes you all the better at it!"
Surveying the building once more, Rand looked back over at Jess. "Right, usually I would be a gentleman and allow ladies first but..." The hunter gave a hard kick on the door, smashing it in. "No one in here, it's just an old rusted building," Rand said as he walked in. "Doesn't look like anyone's been here for years, or that an angry spirit is residing here. You guys coming?"
Ishiya sighed when her mother had convince her to get her sister from her trip to the bookstore. It didn't surprise her that the woman that she barely know is so paranoid. It seems like very thing can trip the woman off and almost panics when she thinks nothing is safe. Jogging down the street, she stopped when she noticed that her sister had one of her blackouts again and is leaning against a tree just some ways in the park. "Jaitheia, wake up. Great, she had another one of her blackouts. Hope she doesn't push me or threaten me to get out of her way again." Ishiya said with a chuckle until a yawn caught her attention. Her sister got up and muttered something she couldn't understand and waved her off. "Never mind she's in one of her moods again. She is going to leave me somewhere now."
Zaknafein opened her eyes with a yawn and saw her host's sister kneeling in front of her. Standing up she waved Ishiya off before she figured out something that they could do something that could take suspicion off of her. "Do you want to explore for a bit? I always want to walk through the forest." She said as she stretched out her back from leaning against the tree trunk for a bit. As they were talking, they found themselves on the other side of town and more so near the forest. Everything that she areas through Jaitheia's eyes always got her curious about the forest nearby. Somehow strange things tend happen when you are in a forest good or bad. In other words, as long as nothing happen to her host, she doesn't care what happens to anyone else that is with her. "Jaitheia, we shouldn't be here. You know that." Ishiya put a hand on her shoulder before she shrug her hand off and continue walking some ways. Walking a head some ways, she pulled herself into a tree before Ishiya could see her.
The vampire girl didn't even notice the arrow had just missed her head. She got up and started running, apparently crazed. Poor girl. Damien allowed himself a curse once he was certain she was gone and not coming for him. "Fuck." He said flatly, as he put the poisoned arrow back in his quiver. Inwardly, he was grateful to have lived. Glancing around, he waited a few moments before removing himself from the tree. It was always the vampires you didn't see that killed you, or so they said. He began walking out of the woods, ever cautious, and making use of his nightvision apparatus to minimize noisy steps.
Rand had invited him to a meeting tonight. Now that he had missed his quarry, he might as well show up. Damien gave some thought to testing his fellow hunters. Perhaps he would surprise them and gauge their reactions. It might be a good lesson for the less experienced if he pretended to be a vampire. He'd better wear some kevlar for the trigger-happy noobs who would probably shoot him as their first reaction.
Damien stopped at the edge of the woods as he saw two young women. One of them was lying down by a tree and the other was standing over her. To his hunter eyes, in the middle of the night, it was extremely suspicious. He knocked an arrow and drew back as the girls eventually got up and walked closer toward him, having decided to go for a walk in the woods. With his enhanced vision, he could eventually tell they were just two kids, human kids. He was pretty certain of it.
"Don't you know young people are going missing around here?" A male voice called out clearly from somewhere in the darkness before them. Dressed all in black, like a ninja, Damien was very hard to see. "These woods aren't safe. Why don't you girls go home." He added, almost threateningly.
"The same could be the same for you! Telling people one thing and do another themselves. Also I don't like people telling me what I can and cannot do!" Zaknafein yelled in the darkness when she could barely make out a figure in the trees. Who ever was in the trees was irritating her to no ends, and there's not even some kind of body of water for her to use. There's no way she's going to pull water from the very air with witnesses around. Not if she wants her host to become extremely weak or fall unconscious for anybody else that would take advantage of her vulnerable state. Ishiya looked at her sister and noticed that something was strange was going on. There was water forming something in her clinched hand. "We were just walking around. I didn't know that there was a curfew or even a law put into place that would stop us from even going into the forest." She said as she hoped that "Jaitheia" would calm down and stop doing whatever she is doing. Though she agreed with what she had said, but she couldn't shake the feeling that this person was armed.
Damien pursed his lips angrily. He wanted to drive them off, for their own good, and rebuke them for their childish insolence, but he wasn't going to get his wish. There was nothing more he could do in a free country. He lifted up his goggles and put his bow across his shoulders. He should have walked off in stealth, should have vanished like a proper warrior, but instead, he felt angry, and cocky. Damien simply walked out of the forest beside them, caring not for the amount of noise he made, snapping twigs and whatnot below foot. Tall, clad in black with a bow and a blade, his long hair hanging behind him where it was tied behind his head, he certainly looked like some kind of military fanatic idiot. His dark brown eyes peered at their faces as he emerged from the brush, but his own face was completely concealed by the sash he wore. Seeing the expected reactions, he kept on walking. His motorbike was stashed not far from there.
Jess rolled her eyes and and smiled as she shut her car "Rand Johnson, I never said a thing about giving it to ya. 'sides, you still owe me forty from our game last month."
She slipped her keys into her jeans, the lanyard hanging out of her back pocket, and grabbed her Beretta off the hood of 'Q' and followed behind them. Supernatural, missing pedestrians. spirit, 1830, possible hold up, check. She followed behind them, wondering silently where the others were. Laughing at the comment about ladies first, Jess gestured for him to go ahead of her. The old door collapsed easily as soon as Rand's boot made contact with it and splinters of old wood scattered as well as a a cloud of dust. Jess coughed and waved dust out of her face. She lifted her pistol slightly as she stepped into the building behind Rand and Connor, nearly tripping over the door frame and stumbling up behind them. Re-gathering her composure, she fixed her plaid shirt and looked around.
"No one's in here," she heard Rand say, "it's just a rusted old building."
He was right. Empty except for a good inch of dust on the walls and the stuffy smell of mold probably growing in the cracks on the walls. She lifted the pistol and fired a shot, perfect aim through a hole in the opposite wall. The sound echoed and a few pigeons scattered, and she thought she saw Rand and Connor duck for cover out of the corner of her eye, otherwise nothing. She gave a bewildered Rand a small smile, and Connor a more apologetic one; she could see he was clearly a bit freaked out, even before she fired
"I just wanted to make sure," she shrugged and took a few more steps into the room. "Well, we can camp out here unless we find somewhere better."
Zzyxx decided to follow Nixon. He decided then to find the vampire group and make them a deal they can't refuse. "Nixon I'm going to go ahead of you to start negotiations with the vampire group. You can come in with a spectacular entrance." Zzyxx smiled very slyly. He always got the better deal. This time would be no different. Of course he'd be fair in his negotiations at first. Then if things turned sour he would have to emotional tap to get what he wanted. Zzyxx looked and Nixon with a look of is my plan alright. Nixon gave a nod and Zzyxx took off. He got in his black Mercedes and drove, speeding, towards the shipping yard the scouting report said the group was spotted. Zzyxx parked the car and started to walk around looking for the group.
Maggie's antagonizing tone made him frown. Dark Dexter started to laugh. "Did you think that she wouldn't find out?!" Dark Dexter couldn't stop laughing. The laugh irritated Dexter since it felt like his otherself was laughing right in his ear. Nevertheless, Dexter decided to be semi-honest with Maggie."My dear Margaret, vampires are a dying creature. Hunters, humans really, are trying to steal our spot on the food chain. They hate the fact we're more dangerous than them. That's why I decided to save our species. We make a colony that's safe and hunter free for vampires to live in." He approached Margaret. He embraced her in an apologetic way. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."
The laughing from Dark Dexter suddenly stopped. "You're a great actor...I'll be damned. That was a very good improv monologue. Especially how you lied. Like I told you, a great lie is built off a kernel of truth."
Dexter let go of Margaret. She yelled very loudly so Dexter wasn't surprised if Margaret woke the whole town.
Zzyxx heard a woman shriek in rage. He decided to check the commotion out and walked.in.the general direction of the yell. He soon came to a shipping container with two people, creatures more likely, the man seemed very apologetic, but for somw reason Zzyxx felt unnerved by him. He listened to their conversation from a distance as he could hear things with his advanced senses. As soon as the conversation ended, Zzyxx decided to make his appearance. He walked towards them clapping.
"I see you guys made up. Now, kiss each other and let's get to discussing business." Zzyxx said in his cold manner. "I'm sorry, my manners are horrible. I'm Zzyxx, but you can call me Mr. Dean, or Dean. That's not the point; the point is your in this town where my colleague wants you out. It's his turf. We already have enough trouble with the hunters trying to kill us all, so we don't want a bigger blood bath. Do we?" Zzyyx back and forth from Dexter to Margaret. "After all, it'd be a shame if I hurt a pretty face like this." Zzyxx said stroking Margaret's face.
Dexter glared and clenched his fists. Nobody threatened his children! Dexter gritted his teeth and said, "threaten my group again and I'll kill every single one of you. No hesitation. No mercy. Pure blood bath. Are we clear?" Dexter threw a punch at Zzyxx.
Zzyxx felt the punch connect in his human's gut. "Being a demon it'd take a lot more to hurt me." Zzyxx said punching Dexter with full strength. The punch sent Dexter flying into the shipping container denting it.
"You sonovabitch" Dexter grunted.
Zzyxx looked over his shoulder. He laughed. "Oh my colleague he's here to continue negotiations." Zzyxx said smiling cruelly at Dexter's hurt form.
Rand tried to hide his surprise from his face as Jess fired into the air, but wasn't too succesful. The hunter gave a very brief glare over at Jess before continuing to walk around. "Right, so I see that everyone else is late coming here," Rand noted, spinning in a circle to face Jess. "I suppose we could start investigations on the first few areas I've figured. Want to check out those while Connor finishes setting up?" The hunter glanced over at Connor and gave a smile. "You're good with that right? Just don't burn the place down."
Connor gave a small submissive shrug. He was still a bit shaken from the gunshot but he stopped showing it. Being alone here would certainly be creepy, but it wasn't the first time. Connor continued setting up, placing down a table and extending the legs. As long as no one other than fellow hunters showed up he should be fine.
Nixon took his cue as Dexter was slammed against the crates. The vampire blinked in from behind Dexter and looked down at him, giving a happy wave. "Well, sorry about my friend there but it was you who threw the first punch. Now, where were we? Ah yes, negotiations." Nixon grabbed Dexter by the throat and blinked them to the top of the building. Holding Dexter Nixon cocked his head. "So, as my friend has told you you're interfering with my business, and Boss will be very unhappy with me if I have to make a relay. So here's my proposition, leave or I kill you. Trust me, I have no regrets about killing a fellow vampire."
Some part of Maggie saw the rational side to Dexter’s statement and wanted to simply agree with him and be happy. She shook that off trying to hold onto being angry at him; after all he basically killed her. Surprisingly he was more sympathetic and gentle with her than she suspected he would. He talked to her as if she was a skittish animal or a child, she really felt like a combination of the both. The comfort he offered her would have seemed genuine if she weren’t so….observant of everything now but his concern for her didn’t reach his eyes, its seemed like it was almost there but something was blocking it. She was completely aware that Dexter talked to himself a lot. Right off the back she saw but was too afraid to confront him about ANY of it, she didn’t want him snapping on her.
The embrace shocked her the most, he was warm. When he first took her his body was so cold and hard but it felt normal now. Nice almost, she had felt so alone for the past few days that she had no choice but to let her eyes flutter close and clutch onto him for dear life. When he let her go she avoided looking at him at all costs, she felt embarrassed and mad at herself for literally turning into putty in his hands for him to manipulate.
The presents of the new cocky man confused Maggie at first he looked human but he didn’t smell anything like the man Dexter had a few nights ago and she confirmed it when the bastard rubbed his hot hand across her face causing her to shiver and move away a deadly glare upon her face. She could sense Dexter’s anger and tenseness and she mirrored to match it something that she’d do often if she didn’t watch herself and growled, yes growled, at the strange smelling man.
Everything happened so quickly after that, next thing she knew, her maker was flying to the shipping container, “Dexter!” panic flooded over her as she zipped to him, but he was on the roof in a second held up by his throat by a vampire this time. Maggie set her hunter’s eyes on the vampire and scrambled to get to the top of the building pushing back the weakness she was feeling at the animal blood wearing off depleting her energy. Viciously she slammed as hard as she could into the vampire attempting to tear his arm off if she had too to save Dexter.
The ride wasn't far, and thankfully traffic was very light at this hour. Damien knew he was approaching the location Rand had said to meet. Some... piece of shit Chevell or.. Nova... or some shitty old car was in front of the building. Damien passed the place up for a lot a block away and stashed his bike inconspicuously against a tree win the darkness. He came back on foot, stealthing into one of the basement windows that was broken. Voices. He recognized Rand and Conner, and it sounded like a girl was with them too. Damien inwardly hoped neither of them had brought their girlfriends, because this was supposed to be serious business. He listened from the shadows, picking a wall to lean up against. A mouse ran by his foot, catching his notice. The trio were sitting at a table. His watch began.
Ishiya opened her mouth to say something to the man that walked passed them before her sister shook her head and looked completely confused. "How did I get here?" She said when she noticed someone was walking away. It was irritating that she would lose precious moments to these blackouts she always have now a days. And now she's standing in the forest with her younger sister and a strange man walking off. Every time she couldn't remember anything is like she drank so much that she just pass out on the floor. Turning back towards, she hopes, they were going, she just put her hands in her pocket. "Let's just finish our walk and get home before our mom has a bloody hernia." She told Ishiya while she walked deeper into the forest. Why they couldn't do this during the day is beyond her, but she likes the suspense this has. Ishiya shrugged and had to jog after her when she got a distance away from her. Like she wants to be left here on her own because Jaitheia decided to leave her. All these personality changes is beginning to make her believe that she has some kind of personality disorder.
Nixon barely had time to react as Maggie slammed into him. Cursing loudly, Nixon was on the ground but quickly recovered by blinking himself to the other side of the roof. “Very rude missy, we were just having a nice chat,” Nixon shouted, drawing one of his daggers. It was a shame he didn’t bring his spear, skewering one of these fools would’ve been very pleasant.
The vampire looked over both his opponents over, giving a brief analyzation. “Let’s see, is she still bonded to you? It would explain her case,” Nixon noted. “Also I hardly find this too fair currently, there being two of you and only one of me, so why not get my friend up here?” Nixon blinked away and came back with Zzyxx. “Ah, there we go! So let’s see, I’ll take the guy. Dean, you take the girl. Perhaps we could also switch sometime in the fight eh? Might make it a tad more interesting. Ooh, try not to kill one of them, Boss may want one, preferably the girl!” Nixon made a blink and came to the right of Dexter, making a large slash at his hip.
Dexter felt a slash connect against his hip. He touched the wound and felt the cut. He noticed it wasn’t very deep. “He’s toying with you.” Dark Dexter told Dexter. “Fight him to the death.” Dexter sprung into action, wincing as he tweaked his freshly made cut. Dexter bared his fangs. His game plan was to incapacitate the other vampire, Nixon, with his venom; then hope the demon would run away with his bosses body. He threw a punch as a feint and Dexter tried to bite and release his venom in order to incapacitate Nixon.
Maggie winced as Dexter’s hip began to bleed. This made her anger rise as she got back to her feet from her, surprisingly successful attack on the vampire who was holding her maker by the throat. She had heard the vampire’s plan to his conrad and glanced back at the human with pure hate in her eyes, she’d loved nothing more than to fight him for even thinking about her in a lewd way but she hesitated sparing a glance back at Dexter who was fighting the other vampire. ‘He can take care of himself. Fight the man who dares to interfere.’
She dare not hesitate any longer as her fangs clicked out, she rushed up to the man going on all instinct, seeing as she had no previous fight training. ‘Just do what feels natural.’ Maggie sped around behind him and snaked an arm around his throat and the other around his midsection to hold him into place, her fangs lowered onto the man’s neck towards his main artery in an attempt to drain him of all his life.
Zzyxx saw the female vampire bite down on him. His human host would of died, but luckily enough for himself a demon feels no pain inside his host. He laughed at the girl. "Come along darling, we don't have to fight. And I really don't want to hurt a pretty face like yourself." Zzyxx gently peeled the vampire off his neck like a leech on someone's arm. He lifted her up by her shirt collar and used his knee to hit her right in the chest. "That was about fifty percent power, so if you'd like to stop let's do that and watch the bloodbath between these two gentleman." Zzyxx pointed towards Dexter and Nixon. "As a businessman we can bet on the outcome. I'd say Nixon wins. Your loverboy dies and leaves you all alone in this big dark world." Zzyxx smiled coldly.
Nixon continued fighting Dexter but blinked away when he saw the rival vampire’s strike with his teeth. Nixon ended up behind his foe several feet back, his arms folded. “Really, can’t we be civilized about murdering each other?” He asked. “Seriously, biting now? That’s just rude.”
Dexter hissed and dove in for an attack. "If you couldn't do that teleport thing I'd tear you limb from limb. Fight me like a real man, bitch." Dexter's lips curled a bit hoping the taunt would be enough to get Nixon down on the ground.
Nixon blinked again behind Dexter and looked up in the air. “But yet we’re both not real men but actual vampires. Would you like to alter your sentence to ‘fight me like a real vampire’? I think that would work better for this case. And also if you did think that as the intentional statement, no I don’t feel like it.” Blinking again Nixon appeared by Zzyxx and Maggie, looking back and forth at them, then blinked by Dexter and made several slashes at him. “See? This is much more entertaining!”
Her fangs sunk into his soft warm flesh like butter as she began to suck greedily this was better than any rabbit she could ever hand and was not happy to be forced off. She tried to clutch onto the man but he was so much stronger. His knee connected to her chest and she coughed as the air and blood in her mouth was knocked out of her. The blood sprayed on his chest and the ground, giving her a little satisfaction. She continued to cough and struggled like a feral cat, uttering out unheard threats and dangled in the air unable to make a difference. She cursed herself for being so short to begin with and beat his arm, “Put me down you barbaric asshole! Just what the fuck are you?”
Zzyxx smiled. “I’m Satan. The Devil. But I prefer, Demon or Dean, which ever you’d prefer.”
Maggie froze and looked back at the man, scared for her life. All of a sudden the cross necklace she had in her pocket weighed heavier than it ever did before.
She gasped as she saw the vampire teleport right next to them and hissed at him. She remembered that she was wearing a jacket and that the barbarian was holding him by it. She reached up and pulled down the zipper sliding out of the ruined material and hard on the ground. Maggie whimpered as she got up and glanced at Dexter who was now bleeding from more slashes feeling more anger come on her as she sped around behind the vampire and kicked him in the back sending him to the ground and moved to tackle the barbarian.
Zzyxx was ready for the attack. He held his hand up and prevented the female vampire from moving forward by resting his hand on the vampire’s forehead. “Do we really have to do this? It’s pointless.” Zzyxx pushed the vampire down and aimed a kick at her. He planted his foot right in her chest. The kick sent her off the building and made her land on top of a shipping container. “Now.” Zzyxx said strolling over to the bleeding Dexter. “Nixon and I have some unfinished business with you.” Zzyxx grabbed Dexter by the collar and headbutted him. Dexter fell to his knees bleeding from his head a bit as well as multiple other visible wounds inflicted by Nixon. Zzyxx smiled crookedly. “Nixon, want to finish him off?” Zzyxx asked.
Nixon stared down at Dexter, cocking his head slightly. He flipped his dagger and gave a nod. “Sure, I haven’t murdered someone for quite some time now, I guess he’ll make do,” Nixon poised the dagger and struck down.
Maggie stirred and rose up ignoring her protesting body for her to remain still. She had passed out after being thrown by that animal off of the building and slammed onto another one. She looked up and froze as she saw the vampire about to destroy her maker and scrambled to get up. “No no no no..” She started a run and launched herself off the shipping container landing right behind the three in time to see Nixon about to deliver the fatal blow. Panicking, she sped over and wrapped her hand around Nixon’s dagger guiding it’s sharp tip to impale her deep into her breastbone.
The sudden interruption caught Nixon off guard as his dagger continued down. As the dagger implanted itself he let go and took a step back, eyes curious. “Wow, she’s truly bonded to you, how romantic!” The vampire taunted, giving a smirk. “I’ll leave that as a warning then. You have one day.” Nixon stepped backwards and turned himself around, then turned back. “And I’ll want my dagger back so you best leave it behind after you go.” Nodding to Zzyxx, Nixon blinked off the building and started walking back to the school.
