Get on the tube in beautiful, glorious sunshine, feeling a little overheated in fact - another rare beautiful summer's day, courtesy of London having a much more temperate climate than my hometown of Edinburgh.
Or so I thought, being a fool. I was deceived.
Get off the tube. Rain. Rain, wind, and thunder. Everywhere. In my eyes. Burrowing into my skin. Feeding on my misery.

Conclusion: Britain's climate is a temperamental little bitch and it can die in a hole.

I know your pain.

Luckily, in Britain it's actually quite nice and lovely right now. Not hot, not cold.

I enjoy the tea, crumpets, biscuits and stereotypes in England.

Try 100 F heat with 70% humidity, it's like walking through hot soup. Damn south Texas summer. I wouldn't mind some of Britain's weather right now.

I once hated Englands weather.

Then I took a holiday to Thailand and now England seems like paradise.

This is my first summer spent in Texas, I've been inside like 99% of the time. Never in my life have I appreciated AC as much as this.

Humidity is fucked up man, it's hot as balls here but at least it's dry.

Evaporating sweat cools us off, can't evaporate in moist air.

I rather enjoy the rain. Maybe that's because I'm from a generally warmer climate though.

Where did you even come from where you expected Britain to have great weather?

I thought Britain was notorious for being rainy all the time or something.

I come from Britain; OP even says my hometown is Edinburgh. I don't see how enjoying sunshine and being surprised by a sudden thunderstorm means I expect constant fantastic weather across the entire nation? Sunny days do exist here, particularly here in London (by comparison to the bleak greyness up north).

This.

It's actually very sunny down south.
Hell, I actually had to open my window last night because it was so hot.
